George Hill is owned in just 50% of all leagues and possibly just a waiver pickup.
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) -
With San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker sidelined for up to six weeks with a broken hand, there are two players who should benefit the most - Manu Ginobili and George Hill.
Ginobili will likely be on a roster (94% ownership), but proved that he'll be the No.1 beneficiary of the Parker absence on Monday by pouring in 38 points with seven rebounds, five assists and two steals. It was the complete effort that we used to see from a healthy Ginobili a few years ago. Over the past few seasons, age and the fact that he hasn't been 100% showed in his numbers (19.5 ppg in 2007-08 to 14.2 ppg in 2009-10).
Obviously he won't score 38 every night, but he should be good for 20-5-5 for the remainder of the regular season.
There is a opportunity to improve your fantasy roster with the addition of Hill. A second-year guard, Hill is owned in just 50% of all leagues and possibly just a waiver pickup will be needed to add him to your roster.
The former IUPUI alum was already making great strides in his second season, increasing his "worth" from a fantasy "non-entity" in his rookie season to borderline "fantasy worthy" this year. His points production went from 5.7 ppg in his first year to 11.9 ppg this year.
Now, with Parker out of the picture, Hill definitely has value. A perfect example was last night against the Cavaliers when he posted 23 points, three rebounds and four assists in a starting role. He played 38 minutes.
He has played in 11 games this season without Parker and averaged 18.8 ppg, 3.4 rpg and 4.3 apg. in those contests. Those are fantasy-worthy numbers and is the reason you should pick him up today.
