Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) -
It's the final week of the fantasy playoffs and with the championship on the line there is no room for error. Big contract or well-known doesn't mean a thing at this time of year - only production. Start the guys who are the best and sit/cut those who aren't performing up to expectations. If you are in a keeper league and there is a free agent you would like, put him on your roster today.
Pablo Sandoval, San Francisco - Welcome back Pablo! After being "MIA" for a year, the Giants' slugger returned to his 2009 form. He finished the season with a flurry, batting .467 with five homers, 14 RBI and an OPS of 1.500 since September 11th. He'll cost you a lot more than a ninth-round pick next season (2010 ADP 107).
Prince Fielder, Milwaukee - Fielder's "odd year" production has always been better than in even years and 2011 fell right into line. Fielder's three home runs on Tuesday night gave him 38 for the season along with 120 RBI. When drafting him in 2012 beware that his home park will likely be less hitter- friendly than Miller Park and in even numbered years he averages "just" .269 with 31 HR and 88 RBI.
Miguel Cabrera, Detroit - Cabrera is finishing up another fine season and over the past two weeks has posted an OPS of 1.499. Barring something crazy he'll win his first AL batting crown (.343) to go along with 100+ runs, 100+ RBI and a season-long OPS of 1.027. He might not be Albert Pujols consistent, but he's pretty close.
Nelson Cruz, Texas - With his team getting ready for the postseason, Cruz picked a bad time to go into a prolonged slump. Over the past two weeks, since coming off the disabled list, Cruz is batting just .152 with zero homers and one RBI. He was a hindrance in your fantasy playoffs, hopefully he won't be one to the Rangers in the real thing.
Yonder Alonso, Cincinnati - The Reds gave Alonso a chance to show his stuff after a late July call up and he was very good, batting .333 in 87 at-bats. He's cooled of late, batting just .154 over the past two weeks which shows you how good he was when he first came up. He should have earned a full-time job in 2012.
Justin Upton, Arizona - Upton carried the Diamondbacks offense when they needed it the most, however, he's struggled over the last two weeks batted just .179. If you are planning on playing in a postseason fantasy league beware that he's struggling and lower your expectations.
WEST FAIRVIEW, Pa. (AP) -- Not to put too fine a point on it -- but a Pennsylvania town feels it has certainly "nailed" its New Year's Eve celebration -- by combining it with its bicentennial celebration.
WEST PALM BEACH, FL -- (Marketwired) -- 03/21/14 -- Companies that pride themselves on being eco-friendly may have conflicted ideas between marketing with ad specialties and maintaining their green reputation. ...
