Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) -
The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim went 19-6 in the month of July and it was in no small part due to the hitting resurgence of veteran Garret Anderson.
Although he is no longer the 30 HR, 100 RBI guy he was from 2000 - 2003, Anderson has put together an impressive July. For the month Anderson hit .384 with 16 runs scored, five homers and 22 RBI.
This hitting streak came out of nowhere. Anderson hit just .188 in June with one HR and eight RBI.
If he is available in your league, he might be worthy of a start for the next couple of weeks until the hot streak is over. He is certainly not a long-term solution, but if you are suffering from an injury to Milton Bradley, Vernon Wells, Ryan Church or Rick Ankiel - Anderson could be a short-term answer.
