LeBron James, F4/14/2014 2:10:00 PM

Greg Oden, C4/10/2014 6:27:00 PM
Description: Brian Windhorst of ESPN doesn't think Heat center Greg Oden (back) will be back this season.

LeBron James, F4/6/2014 4:00:00 PM
Description: Heat forward LeBron James netted 38 points Sunday in a win against the Knicks.
Insight: By doing so, he became the first player since Michael Jordan in 1996-97 to score 30 or more points against the Knicks four times in the same season. At this point, the MVP race between James and Kevin Durant is a dead heat.
Greg Oden, C4/6/2014 12:36:00 PM
Description: Heat center Greg Oden (back spasms) will not play Sunday against the Knicks, according to Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel.
Insight: Oden and Chris Andersen are both out, so the team will need Udonis Haslem, Shane Battier, Rashard Lewis and Michael Beasley to play extra frontcourt minutes to spell Chris Bosh.
Chris Andersen, F/C4/6/2014 12:34:00 PM
Description: Heat PF/C Chris Anderson (knee, back) will not play Sunday, according to Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel.
Insight: Knee and back injuries will ground the Birdman, who has averaged 8.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.9 blocks over his last 16 games. Miami will spread his minutes out to several players, including Chris Bosh, Shane Battier, Michael Beasley, Udonis Haslem and Rashard Lewis.

Dwyane Wade, G4/4/2014 11:54:00 AM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade (hamstring) is doubtful for Friday as he tries to get healthy for the playoff run.
Insight: Wade is now dealing with hamstring discomfort in addition to his Achilles injury and knee problems. He's entire goal now is to be ready for the postseason so there's no reason to risk playing him in the regular season anymore. He's missed the past four games.
Ray Allen, G4/3/2014 1:44:00 PM
Description: Miami sixth man Ray Allen (stomach virus) made it through Thursday's practice and should be ready to go for the weekend.
Insight: Allen's dominant days are far behind him and he gets limited minutes averaging 9.7 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 2.0 apg in about 26 minutes. He'll have more value if Dwyane Wade isn't ready to go.
Dwyane Wade, G4/2/2014 6:05:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade (hamstring) will not play Wednesday against the Bucks, the team announced.
Insight: Wade is now dealing with hamstring discomfort in addition to his Achilles injury and knee problems. He's entire goal now is to be ready for the postseason so there's no reason to risk playing him against the team with the worst record in the NBA.

Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade (hamstring) did not play Monday and is doubtful for Wednesday's game against Milwaukee, according to the Heat on Twitter.

LeBron James, F4/2/2014 2:51:00 PM
Description: There was no trace of the back problem at the Wednesday morning shootaround and Heat small forward LeBron James should be ready to go Wednesday night.
Insight: Even at less than 100 percent James is a fantasy stud. He put up 32 points, seven rebounds and eight assists while dealing with a sore back on Monday. If he plays, he starts.
Chris Andersen, F/C3/31/2014 10:03:00 PM
Description: Heat PF/C Chris Anderson had 13 points, seven rebounds and two blocks in 25 minutes Monday.
Insight: Andersen had his best month of the season in March and has averaged 7.8 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.1 blocks over his last 16 games.
Mario Chalmers, G3/31/2014 7:10:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Mario Chalmers (quad) will start Monday, according to Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel.
Insight: The Heat have been without Dwyane Wade, Ray Allen and Chalmers for the past couple of games, so Toney Douglas, James Jones and Norris Cole have been playing big minutes. Douglas will remain in the starting lineup Monday with Wade still out, while Jones will move back to the bench.
Greg Oden, C3/31/2014 6:04:00 PM
Description: Heat center Greg Oden (back spasms) will sit out Monday against Toronto.
Insight: It will be Oden's third straight absence. The center has made a nice comeback after sitting out three full seasons, but he has averaged just nine minutes per game and isn't a fantasy option.
Mario Chalmers, G3/31/2014 6:02:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Mario Chalmers (quad) will be a game-time decision Monday against Toronto.
Insight: The Heat have been without Dwyane Wade, Ray Allen and Chalmers for the past couple of games, so Toney Douglas, James Jones and Norris Cole have been playing big minutes.
Ray Allen, G3/31/2014 6:00:00 PM
Description: Miami sixth man Ray Allen (stomach virus) will miss his fourth straight game Monday, according to the Heat on Twitter.

Dwyane Wade, G3/31/2014 5:57:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade (hamstring) will not play Monday against the Raptors, according to the Heat on Twitter.
Insight: Wade is now dealing with hamstring discomfort in addition to his Achilles injury and knee problems. He'll sit out for the fifth time in the last six games Monday. Toney Douglas will probably start again in his place.
Shane Battier, F3/29/2014 10:22:00 AM
Description: Miami forward Shane Battier plans to retire at the end of this season. SOURCE: Brian Windhorst, ESPN
Insight: Battier acknowledged that Friday would be his last game in Detroit, which of course is where he grew up. The 35-year-old never contributed much to fantasy teams (8.7 career ppg) but was always a great competitor with an excellent basketball IQ. Battier has played for three teams in his 13-year career (Memphis, Houston and Miami).
LeBron James, F3/28/2014 10:06:00 PM
Description: With the Heat's three top guards out, forward LeBron James stepped up his passing game and had his first triple-double of the season Friday against the Pistons.

Mario Chalmers, G3/28/2014 6:03:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Mario Chalmers will miss Friday's game with a thigh bruise, according to Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel.
Insight: Ray Allen (stomach virus) is also out and Dwyane Wade is a game-time decision, so Norris Cole will see big minutes.

Description: Miami sixth man Ray Allen (stomach virus) is out Friday and unlikely to play Saturday, according to Jason Lieser of the Palm Beach Post.
Insight: Allen also sat out Wednesday against the Pacers. The 38-year-old averaged 15.9 ppg and 2.6 3pg over his last seven games.
Dwyane Wade, G3/28/2014 11:12:00 AM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade (Achilles) was active Wednesday against the Pacers and is expected to play Friday.
Insight: Wade managed 15 points and four rebounds in 32 minutes against the Pacers, but turned the ball over six times. With Wade, you always have to wait until just before tipoff to know if he will play.

Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade (Achilles) will be active Wednesday against the Pacers. SOURCE: Brian Windhorst, ESPN

Ray Allen, G3/26/2014 7:22:00 PM
Description: Miami sixth man Ray Allen won't be in the lineup Wednesday against the Pacers. SOURCE: Brian Windhorst, ESPN
Insight: He's out with the flu. Michael Beasley (8.3 ppg) should soak up most of Allen's minutes off the bench.
Dwyane Wade, G3/26/2014 12:16:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade (left Achilles strain) participated in shootaround Wednesday, according to the Heat on Twitter.
Insight: Wade missed the last two games, the first for rest and the second due to his Achilles. He'll be a game-time decision and we expect him to play after practicing fully on Tuesday and going through shootaround Wednesday.
Ray Allen, G3/26/2014 12:13:00 PM
Description: Miami SG Ray Allen is doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Pacers due to a stomach virus, according to the Heat on Twitter.
Insight: Allen has been very good lately, averaging 30.6 minutes, 15.9 points and 2.6 triples per game. Norris Cole and Michael Beasley will get most of Allen's minutes, and both players will see a lot of time if Dwyane Wade (Achilles, game-time decision) also has to miss the contest.

Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade (left Achilles strain) will be re-evaluated prior to Wednesday's game, according to the Heat on Twitter.

Insight: The Heat forward finished with a game-high 32 points. He was able to offset his high turnover total (five) by collecting six rebounds, five assists and four steals. Overall, James has averaged 28 ppg since the All-Star break.
Dwyane Wade, G3/24/2014 6:44:00 PM
Description: Dwyane Wade is out for the Heat on Monday night. SOURCE: South Florida Sun-Sentinel
Insight: Wade tweaked his ankle Friday against Memphis. Toney Douglas (3.2 ppg) will start in his place though Ray Allen (9.7 ppg) should benefit the most from Wade's absence.
Dwyane Wade, G3/24/2014 3:42:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade sat out Saturday against the Pelicans and is doubtful for Monday night with a sprained ankle.
Insight: Ray Allen has posted double-digits in six consecutive games while playing 30 minutes per night.
Dwyane Wade, G3/22/2014 6:47:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade (rest) will sit out Saturday against the Pelicans, according to Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel.
Insight: Wade played 33 minutes Friday against Memphis, so he'll sit out Saturday. He has missed a game three of the last four times Miami has had a back-to-back set.
Dwyane Wade, G3/21/2014 6:57:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade will start Friday's game against Memphis. SOURCE: Heat on Twitter
Insight: The Heat have been known to rest their players before the playoffs so it's possible Wade could be a game-time decision for the rest of the regular season. For what it's worth, Wade has looked much better since the All-Star break, averaging 21.2 ppg over 13 appearances (18.7 ppg before the break).
LeBron James, F3/21/2014 6:17:00 PM
Description: Heat forward LeBron James is back after missing Wednesday's game because of back spasms. SOURCE: Tom Haberstroh, ESPN
Insight: He's cooled off a bit since February (30.8 ppg in nine games) but it's still LeBron we're talking about. Even on his worst nights, James can do what few others can. Make sure he's in your lineup.
LeBron James, F3/21/2014 11:00:00 AM
Description: Miami forward LeBron James sat out Wednesday's game due to back spasms, but is probable for Friday's game against Memphis.
Insight: He was listed as having back spasms, though we suspect it's just a maintenance day for the 29-year-old. Miami lost the game to Boston, so we don't expect a repeat here.
Dwyane Wade, G3/19/2014 6:49:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade will return to the starting lineup on Wednesday. SOURCE: Ira Winderman, South Florida Sun-Sentinel
Insight: Wade (19.4 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 4.9 apg) rested on Tuesday night. He'll be Miami's go-to scorer with LeBron James (back spasms) getting the night off.
LeBron James, F3/19/2014 6:42:00 PM
Description: Miami forward LeBron James is sitting out Wednesday's game against the Celtics. SOURCE: Heat on Twitter

LeBron James, FHot3/18/2014 10:03:00 PM
Description: Heat forward LeBron James tossed in 14-of-19 shots, including 6-of-8 from 3-point range, and 9-of-13 free throws for 43 points with six rebounds, four assists, three blocks, two steals and zero turnovers in 42 minutes Tuesday against the Cavaliers.
Insight: James had scored "just" 20.7 ppg on .455 shooting since his 61-point game on March 3, which was not coincidentally the last time Dwyane Wade sat out. Wade was absent Tuesday, giving James free reign of the offense again.
Greg Oden, C3/18/2014 7:48:00 PM
Description: Heat center Greg Oden will remain in the starting lineup until further notice. SOURCE: Rob Mahoney, Sports Illustrated
Insight: With Oden (2.7 ppg, 2.2 rpg) at the five, Chris Bosh can return to his natural position at power forward. Oden's comeback has been one of the league's feel good stories this season. He's still not a fantasy option.
Dwyane Wade, G3/18/2014 6:33:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade will be held out of Tuesday's game, according to Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel. Toney Douglas will start.
Insight: The Cavaliers are depleted with Kyrie Irving and Luol Deng out, so the Heat can afford to rest Wade after he played the last seven games and averaged 36 mpg. The last time Wade was out, Douglas played 19 minutes, Michael Beasley played 18, Norris Cole saw 21 and Ray Allen played 30.
Ray Allen, G3/16/2014 7:38:00 PM
Description: Miami shooting guard Ray Allen has made 9-of-13 from behind the arc his last two games.
Insight: Allen scored a season-high 25 points Sunday against the Rockets, one game after reaching 20 points for the first time all season with 22 against the Nuggets. Don't get used to this type of production, Allen is averaging less than 10 ppg this season.
Chris Bosh, CHot3/12/2014 10:20:00 PM
Description: Heat center Chris Bosh has scored 22 or more points in three of the past four games.
Insight: Bosh had 24 points, seven rebounds and two threes Wednesday against the Nets. He added the 3-point shot to his regular arsenal in January and has made 1.4 triples per game over his last 25 games.
Dwyane Wade, G3/10/2014 6:17:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade will play Monday against Washington despite it being the second game of a back-to-back. SOURCE: Shandel Richardson, South Florida Sun Sentinel
Insight: The Heat are back home after dropping three straight on the road to Chicago, San Antonio and Houston. Wade (19.2 ppg) averaged 37.7 mpg in those contests and should see another heavy workload on Monday.
LeBron James, FHot3/5/2014 10:21:00 AM
Description: Heat forward LeBron James said he re-broke his nose after taking an elbow from Dwight Howard during Tuesday's game, but the Heat have confirmed that he didn't. SOURCE: nbc6.com
Insight: James has been playing with a protective mask since he broke his nose on Feb. 20. He scored a career-high 61 points in 41 minutes Monday and admitted he dealt with fatigue in Tuesday's loss at Houston. James scored 22 points Tuesday and has averaged 35.3 points on 62.3 percent shooting his last eight games.

Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade has scored at least 23 points in five straight games.
Insight: After getting Monday off, Wade returned to action Tuesday at Houston and led Miami with 24 points. He has averaged 23.6 points, 5.6 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 1.8 steals his last five games.
Dwyane Wade, GHot3/4/2014 6:40:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade will play Tuesday, according to Michael Wallace of espn.com.
Insight: Wade had played in all five games since the All-Star break and scored 23+ points in each of the last four before sitting out for rest Monday night.
Dwyane Wade, G3/4/2014 1:22:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade did not play Monday night (rest), but is expected to return for the second half of the back-to-back set.
Insight: Wade had played in all five games since the All-Star break and scored 23+ points in each of the last four. His return should take some of the workload from LeBron James, so a repeat of his 61-point night is unlikely.
LeBron James, FHot3/3/2014 9:55:00 PM
Description: Heat forward LeBron James erupted for a career-high 61 points Monday against the Bobcats.
Insight: James made 22-of-33 from the field, including a career-high eight threes on 10 attempts, and 9-of-12 from the foul line in the epic performance. He has averaged 37.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 2.9 threes and 2.4 steals over his last seven games.

Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade will not play Monday night for rest purposes, according to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
Insight: Wade has played in all five games since the All-Star break and scored 23+ points in each of the last four.
LeBron James, F3/1/2014 10:42:00 PM
Description: LeBron James wasn't allowed to wear his Batman mask on Saturday but that didn't stop him from scoring 20 points on 8-for-12 shooting.
Insight: James needed one more rebound and three more assists for a triple-double. He probably would have gotten there if he had played the fourth quarter. James has averaged 25.5 ppg since returning from a broken nose.
LeBron James, FHot2/27/2014 11:08:00 PM
Description: Heat forward LeBron James' mask didn't give the four-time MVP much of a problem, as he had 31 points, four rebounds and four assists over 37 minutes Thursday against the Knicks.
Insight: James broke his nose last Thursday against the Thunder and missed Sunday's game. The injury didn't prevent him from scoring 30+ points for the fifth time in his last six games.
LeBron James, FHot2/27/2014 7:23:00 PM
Description: Heat forward LeBron James (broken nose) will start Thursday against the Knicks, according to Ethan J. Skolnick of Bleacher Report.
Insight: James (26.9 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 6.5 apg,) suffered the injury last Thursday against the Thunder, had his nose repaired Friday and missed Sunday's game. He has two masks, one he'll start with and a replacement in case the first gets too uncomfortable. He has averaged 37 points, 9.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 3.3 steals and 2.8 threes over his last four games and obviously should be in all fantasy lineups.
LeBron James, FHot2/27/2014 10:48:00 AM
Description: Heat forward LeBron James (broken nose) got in a full practice on Wednesday and plans to play Thursday against the Knicks. He will wear a mask.

Insight: James (26.9 ppg, 6.5 apg, 7.1 rpg) suffered the injury last Thursday against the Thunder, had his nose repaired Friday and missed Sunday's game. He has averaged 37 points, 9.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 3.3 steals and 2.8 threes over his last four games.
Greg Oden, C2/23/2014 3:16:00 PM
Description: Miami big man Gred Oden will get the start Sunday against Chicago. SOURCE: Ira Winderman, South Florida Sun-Sentinel
Insight: Oden hasn't started a game since 2009. He's averaged just 7.8 minutes per game this season. With Oden at the five, Chris Bosh will move over to power forward. It's just the second time this season the Heat have had to play without LeBron James (broken nose).
LeBron James, F2/23/2014 2:01:00 PM
Description: According to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Heat forward LeBron James (broken nose) will not play Sunday against the Bulls.
Insight: James (26.9 ppg, 6.5 apg, 7.1 rpg) suffered the injury Thursday against the Thunder and had his nose repaired Friday. The Heat don't play again until Thursday so holding out James allows him to get a full week of rest. James has averaged 37 points, 9.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 3.3 steals and 2.8 threes over his last four games.

Description: LeBron James is being listed as a game-time decision ahead of Sunday's matchup with Chicago. James broke his nose during Thursday night's win over OKC. SOURCE: NBA.com
Insight: James (26.9 ppg, 6.5 apg, 7.1 rpg) will have to be fitted for a protective mask. He passed his concussion test, which is obviously a good sign. Michael Beasley started at small forward the last time James was out with an injury.
LeBron James, F2/20/2014 10:44:00 PM
Description: LeBron James exited Thursday's game after taking a shot to the face from Thunder forward Serge Ibaka.
Insight: It looks like he may have suffered a broken nose. James, who was covered in blood as he left the floor, will also be checked for a concussion. He'll finish the night with 33 points in 33 minutes of court time.
Dwyane Wade, G2/18/2014 11:38:00 AM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade is probable for Tuesday's game against Dallas.
Insight: Wade has been battling a slew of injuries including a foot ailment that cost him Wednesday's game against Golden State. Wade played just 12 minutes in the All-Star game and should be ready to go Tuesday.

Dwyane Wade, G2/15/2014 9:45:00 AM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade says he will play in Sunday's All-Star Game in New Orleans. SOURCE: Marc Spears, Yahoo Sports
Insight: Wade has been battling a slew of injuries including a foot ailment that cost him Wednesday's game against Golden State. Wade probably won't play as many minutes as the East's other starters on Sunday. Joe Johnson and DeMar DeRozan are the two other shooting guards on the Eastern Conference roster.
Dwyane Wade, G2/13/2014 4:09:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade (foot) may have to miss the All-Star game Sunday, according to yahoo.com.
Insight: Wade sat out Tuesday due to a migraine and was a late scratch from Wednesday's lineup due to a sore left foot. He said he had numbness in his left leg in pre-game warmups after "the nerve kind of shut down" and kept him from having feeling in his left foot. Wade's knees have been doing better lately as he played 32 or more minutes in five straight games but he's had other issues to deal with.
Dwyane Wade, G2/12/2014 11:03:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade was a late scratch from Wednesday's lineup due to a sore left foot, according to Brian Windhorst of espn.com.
Insight: Wade missed Tuesday's game due to a migraine but was able to travel with the team to California and was announced as a starter. The good news is that his knees appear to be doing well, as he has played 32+ minutes in five straight contests and averaged 20 ppg on 61.8 percent shooting in that span, but these frequent absences are getting annoying for fantasy owners.
Dwyane Wade, G2/12/2014 9:31:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade (migraine) is expected to play Wednesday night at Golden State, according to Brian Windhorst of espn.com.
Insight: Wade missed Tuesday's game due to a migraine but was able to travel with the team to California. Migraines can come back at any time so Wade isn't out of the woods yet but we should see him Wednesday. The good news is that his knees appear to be doing well, as he has played 32+ minutes in five straight contests and averaged 20 ppg on 61.8 percent shooting in that span.
Dwyane Wade, G2/12/2014 5:17:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade traveled with the team to play the Warriors Wednesday night, according to Joseph Goodman of the Miami Herald.

LeBron James, F2/12/2014 9:16:00 AM
Description: Heat forward LeBron James ripped the Suns for 37 points and nine rebounds Tuesday night in Phoenix.
Insight: James also amassed five steals and three assists. This comes on the heels of a miserable 4-for-13 shooting night Saturday in Utah (season-low 13 points). Kevin Durant might be the game's top scorer but James is still the best all-around player.
Dwyane Wade, G2/11/2014 7:43:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade will not play Tuesday due to a migraine, according to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
Insight: Wade participated in the shootaround this morning but he began suffering from a migraine in the afternoon, coach Erik Spoelstra said. The good news is that Wade has played 32+ minutes in five straight contests and averaged 20 ppg on 61.8 percent shooting in that span.
Dwyane Wade, G2/11/2014 2:30:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade participated in the morning shootaround and is expected to play Tuesday against Phoenix.
Insight: When he's gotten through the shootaround Wade almost always plays in the game. He's posted more than 32 minutes in each of the last five contests, so he most be feeling pretty good.
LeBron James, F2/6/2014 7:03:00 PM
Description: Ramona Shelburne of ESPN Los Angeles is hearing Miami could pursue a Blake Griffin for LeBron James swap after the season.
Insight: With Dwyane Wade's health in question, the Heat dynasty may soon be coming to an end. LeBron's goal has always been to win championships and playing alongside Chris Paul may give him the best opportunity to do that. Of course, the Clippers will need to give up a lot more than just Griffin in order for Miami to pull the trigger.
Dwyane Wade, GHot2/5/2014 4:25:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade participated in the morning shootaround and is expected to play Wednesday against the Clippers.
Insight: After missing five of seven games and scoring eight points in each of the three games he did play from Jan. 15-26, Wade has scored 26 points on 67.6 percent shooting with seven boards and 4.5 assists in 35.5 minutes per game the last two games.
Dwyane Wade, G2/3/2014 6:59:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade will be in the lineup Monday against the Pistons.
Insight: Wade finally returned to form Saturday, scoring 22 points on 10-of-15 shooting. He has played 32+ minutes in two straight games.
Dwyane Wade, G1/29/2014 5:33:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade (knees) will play and start Wednesday against the Thunder, according to Darnell Mayberry of the Oklahoman.
Insight: Wade has been a headache for fantasy owners with his "will I or won't I?" act prior to almost every game. Of course, he's productive when he does play, though that hasn't been very often this month (missed five of the last eight games with knee issues).
Dwyane Wade, G1/29/2014 11:23:00 AM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade, as usual, will be a game-time decision Wednesday against the Thunder. SOURCE: Shandel Richardson, South Florida Sun Sentinel
Insight: Wade has been a headache for fantasy owners with his "will I or won't I?" act prior to almost every game. Of course, he's productive when he does play, though that hasn't been very often this month (missed five of the last eight games with knee issues).
Dwyane Wade, G1/28/2014 5:45:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade (knees) is ready to return to the starting lineup, according to Ethan J. Skolnick of Turner Sports.
Insight: It was Wade's idea to come off the bench in his return to action Sunday after a four-game absence. "I asked (coach Erik Spoelstra) to take me out as a starter that one game, but I didn't ask him to do it the whole year," Wade said. "So we can stop that conversation."
Mario Chalmers, G1/26/2014 3:55:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Mario Chalmers had 16 points, seven assists and two treys Sunday against the Spurs
Insight: Chalmers sat out three games with an Achilles injury and has averaged 11.8 points, 5.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.2 threes in six games since returning to the lineup.
Chris Bosh, CHot1/26/2014 3:50:00 PM
Description: Heat center Chris Bosh made 9-of-10 from the field and 5-of-5 from the foul line to score 24 points in 26 minutes Sunday against the Spurs.
Insight: The Heat led by 22 points going into fourth quarter so they were able to rest LeBron James and Bosh, but Bosh still got his numbers. With Dwyane Wade ailing, Bosh has stepped up and averaged 24 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.7 threes and 1.0 blocks over his last seven games.
Dwyane Wade, G1/26/2014 3:23:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade didn't start, but did play Sunday against San Antonio, after missing the past four games.
Insight: That's the good news. The bad is that he played around 24 minutes and put up sub par numbers - eight points, three rebounds, five assists. Fantasy owners would probably rather he had not played at all rather than play poorly off the bench.
Dwyane Wade, G1/26/2014 1:40:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade didn't start but did play Sunday against San Antonio.
Insight: He had sat out the last four games because of knee soreness. Ray Allen still got the start. We're not sure why he came off the bench or how that would help his sore knee (to sit down after warming up), but at least he's playing again.
Dwyane Wade, G1/25/2014 4:18:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade returned to practice on Saturday. He could be back in the lineup as early as Sunday. SOURCE: Joe Goodman, Miami Herald
Insight: We suspect Wade will be in the starting five Sunday versus the Spurs. He's sat out the last four games because of knee soreness. Ray Allen (9.5 ppg) will return to a reserve role upon Wade's return.
Chris Bosh, CHot1/23/2014 10:33:00 PM
Description: Heat center Chris Bosh led all scorers with 31 points Thursday in a win over the Lakers.
Insight: It's only Bosh's second 30-point game of the season. Bosh has averaged 23.3 ppg since Dwyane Wade went down with a knee injury. Look for him to have another big game Sunday against the Spurs.
Dwyane Wade, G1/23/2014 9:15:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade has been voted to the Eastern Conference All-Star team.
Insight: Even with his chronic knee issues, Wade continues to be the best shooting guard in the Eastern Conference. Though his 18.9 ppg is well below his career average, that's still good for third-best among Eastern Conference two-guards (DeMar DeRozan and Arron Afflalo are ahead of him).
LeBron James, F1/23/2014 8:28:00 PM
Description: Miami forward LeBron James is headed to his tenth consecutive All-Star Game.
Insight: He was the leading vote-getter. LeBron will join his teammate Dwyane Wade in the starting lineup. James won the MVP award the last time the All-Star Game was held in New Orleans back in 2008.
Dwyane Wade, G1/23/2014 6:46:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade will miss his fourth consecutive game Thursday against the Lakers. SOURCE: Marc Spears, Yahoo Sports
Insight: Head coach Erik Spoelstra isn't sure if he'll be able to play Sunday versus San Antonio. Veteran Ray Allen will continue to fill in at shooting guard while Wade (18.9 ppg, 4.7 apg, 4.8 rpg) deals with knee issues.
Dwyane Wade, G1/23/2014 10:02:00 AM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade (knees) did not play Monday at Atlanta or Tuesday and is questionable for Thursday's game against the LA Lakers.
Insight: Wade's knee are obviously acting up and he's not concerned with regular season games. Despite solid numbers if he can't get on the floor he's not helping fantasy owners.
LeBron James, F1/22/2014 4:34:00 PM
Description: After making 40.5 percent of his 3-point attempts in his first 36 games, Heat forward LeBron James has made just 3-of-19 (.158) from behind the arc in his last five games.
Insight: That's OK, though, because he has managed to produce an average of 27.8 points per game in that span due to an increased number of field-goal and free-throw attempts.
LeBron James, FHot1/21/2014 10:08:00 PM
Description: Heat forward LeBron James put up 29 points with eight rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals against Boston.
Insight: After hoisting up 25 shots against Charlotte a couple of games ago, James is heading back to his normal shooting attempt level. On this night he took 19 shots, making 10 of them. No, he's not going to match Kevin Durant shot for shot.
Dwyane Wade, G1/21/2014 6:15:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade (knees) did not play Monday at Atlanta and now will miss Tuesday's game as well.
Insight: It's starting to be a concern as Wade has missed three in a row and four of the last six games. Despite solid numbers if he can't get on the floor he's not helping fantasy owners.
Dwyane Wade, G1/21/2014 8:49:00 AM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade (knees) did not play Monday at Atlanta, but is likely to return for Tuesday's home game against Boston.
Insight: Wade also missed Saturday's game against the Bobcats. We believe this is more about managing Wade's knees so that he'll be healthy for the playoff run rather than a serious injury.
Chris Bosh, CHot1/20/2014 8:09:00 PM
Description: Miami center Chris Bosh's 21 points Monday were actually his least in the last four games.
Insight: With Dwyane Wade dealing with soreness and missing the last two games, Bosh is being asked to shoulder more of the scoring load. He's attempted 17.8 field goals per game over the last four games while averaging 24.3 ppg in that span.
LeBron James, FHot1/20/2014 8:04:00 PM
Description: Heat forward LeBron James' 30 points Monday at Atlanta were not enough to help Miami avoid losing for the fourth time in the last six games.
Insight: James has scored at least 30 points in six of the last eight games. After going 2-4 on its road trip, Miami begins a four-game homestand Tuesday against Boston.
Dwyane Wade, G1/20/2014 5:05:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade (knees) will not play Monday at Atlanta. "I'm a little sore. I'm going to take another day and hopefully be better tomorrow," Wade said. SOURCE: Heat on Twitter
Insight: Wade also missed Saturday's game against the Bobcats. He'll probably return Tuesday to play the Celtics.
Dwyane Wade, G1/20/2014 4:28:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade (knees) will likely sit one of the two back-to-back games the Heat has scheduled for Monday and Tuesday.
Insight: He'll be a game-time decision Monday in Atlanta, but if he plays then plan on him missing the next game against Boston. Wade isn't what he once was, but he's still averaging 18.9 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 4.7 apg, 1.8 spg. At this point in his career he only cares about playoff time and winning another trophy which doesn't fit well with fantasy owners.
Chris Andersen, F/C1/20/2014 10:53:00 AM
Description: Heat PF/C Chris Anderson didn 't play Saturday against Charlotte and is questionable for Monday's game against Atlanta due to a bruised knee.
Insight: Birdman (6.3 ppg, 4.5 rpg) has been struggling with knee issues for almost a month now. Udonis Haslem and Rashard Lewis will have to fill in for him on Saturday. None have fantasy value.
LeBron James, F1/19/2014 9:36:00 AM
Description: LeBron James punished Charlotte with 34 points on 13-of-25 shooting Saturday in a 104-96 Miami victory.
Insight: James corralled eight rebounds for the third consecutive game. The Heat have followed up a three-game losing streak by winning two in a row. The only one even close to James' level of production right now is Kevin Durant.
Chris Andersen, F/C1/18/2014 6:36:00 PM
Description: Heat PF/C Chris Anderson won't be in action Saturday against Charlotte. SOURCE: Miami Herald
Insight: It's the third game in a row he's missed. Birdman has been struggling with knee issues for almost a month now. Udonis Haslem and Rashard Lewis will have to fill in for him on Saturday.

Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade (knees) said after Friday's game that he won't play Saturday, according to Ethan J. Skolnick of Turner Sports.

Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade (knees) will be a game-time decision Friday against the 76ers.

Mario Chalmers, G1/17/2014 5:23:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Mario Chalmers (Achilles tendinitis) said he's playing Friday against the Sixers, according to Shandel Richardson of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
Insight: Chalmers missed the last three games after averaging 9.3 points, 5.1 assists, 2.8 rebounds 1.9 steals and 1.3 threes his first 32. Norris Cole put up 13.5 ppg, 4.5 apg, 1.3 spg and 1.8 3pg in Chalmers' absence and this could end up as a shared situation.
Chris Andersen, F/C1/17/2014 5:20:00 PM
Description: Miami PF/C Chris Andersen (knee) will not play Friday against Philadelphia. He also sat out Wednesday.
Insight: Andersen adds enthusiasm to the Heat when he's on the floor, but at 6.3 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 0.5 apg, there isn't much for fantasy owners.
Mario Chalmers, G1/17/2014 10:55:00 AM
Description: Heat guard Mario Chalmers sat out Wednesday against the Wizards (Achilles tendinitis), but did practice Thursday and will be a game-time decision.
Insight: Chalmers has missed three consecutive games. Norris Cole has played well in his absence and this could end up being a shared situation.
Greg Oden, C1/17/2014 10:52:00 AM
Description: Heat center Greg Oden (knee) actually played eight minutes against Washington on Wednesday, scoring six points and pulling down a pair of rebounds.
Insight: Oden hadn't played since December 5, 2009. Fantasy owners shouldn't get excited, he won't play enough minutes to be of value.
Chris Andersen, F/C1/17/2014 10:49:00 AM
Description: Miami PF/C Chris Andersen did not play Wednesday and will be a game-time decision on Friday.
Insight: Andersen's ailment was previously described as "body soreness," but he actually has a knee injury. He adds enthusiasm to the Heat when he's on the floor, but at 6.3 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 0.5 apg, there isn't much for fantasy owners.
Dwyane Wade, G1/15/2014 7:03:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade is playing Wednesday against Washington, according to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
Insight: Wade wasn't in the lineup Friday against Brooklyn as part of the Heat's plan to protect his knees. The strategy has worked for Wade this season, as he has averaged 19.6 points, 4.9 boards, 4.8 assists and 1.9 steals with a career-high .545 shooting percentage.
Chris Andersen, F/C1/15/2014 6:21:00 PM

Description: Heat forward Shane Battier (quad) will return to the lineup Wednesday, according to Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel.

Insight: Oden hasn't played since December 5, 2009. Fantasy owners can avoid him.
Chris Andersen, F/C1/15/2014 3:02:00 PM
Description: Miami PF/C Chris Andersen isn't expected to play Wednesday against Washington. SOURCE: Heat on Twitter
Insight: Andersen's ailment is being described as "body soreness." The Heat will rest players from time to time but it is a little surprising to see Birdman sit out after Miami just had a four-day layoff. Of course, we won't know for sure until tipoff at 7 p.m.
Mario Chalmers, G1/15/2014 2:58:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Mario Chalmers will sit out Wednesday against the Wizards. He's still struggling with Achilles tendinitis. SOURCE: Ethan Skolnick, Bleacher Report
Insight: Chalmers hasn't played in a game since January 5th. Norris Cole has played well in his absence and if Chalmers isn't careful, he could lose his starting job when he gets back.
Toney Douglas, G1/15/2014 2:02:00 PM
Description: The Warriors traded point guard Toney Douglas to Miami Wednesday as part of a three-team swap. SOURCE: Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo Sports
Insight: The Heat sent center Joel Anthony to Boston while Golden State received Jordan Crawford and MarShon Brooks from the Celtics. Douglas only played 11 minutes per game for the Warriors and he could see even less time in Miami.
Dwyane Wade, G1/13/2014 12:08:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade took Friday off to rest his chronic knees, but should be ready to go Wednesday versus Washington.
Insight: Wade wasn't be in the lineup Friday against Brooklyn and will take regular days off during the regular season. When he plays, he's still a solid option averaging 19.6 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 4.8 apg, 1.9 spg.
Mario Chalmers, G1/13/2014 12:06:00 PM
Description: Miami point guard Mario Chalmers is questionable for Wednesday's game against Washington due to right Achilles tendinitis.
Insight: Achilles tendinitis has sidelined Chalmers for the past three games and we don't know when he'll be back. The Heat only care about the post season, so they may sit him for a while longer. Norris Cole (7.6 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 3.1 apg) has put up 18 and 12 points in his last two starts.
Mario Chalmers, G1/10/2014 7:18:00 PM
Description: Miami point guard Mario Chalmers is sitting out Friday against Brooklyn. SOURCE: Ira Winderman, South Florida Sun-Sentinel
Insight: Achilles tendinitis has sidelined Chalmers for the past two games and we don't know when he'll be back. Norris Cole (7.3 ppg, 3.0 apg) is going to make his fifth start of the year at point guard on Friday night.
Shane Battier, F1/10/2014 7:12:00 PM
Description: Miami forward Shane Battier won't be available Friday against the Nets. SOURCE: Heat on Twitter
Insight: Battier is out for the fifth game in a row with a quad injury. Rashard Lewis has averaged 7.0 ppg during Battier's four-game absence.
Dwyane Wade, G1/10/2014 7:09:00 PM
Description: Finally, Dwyane Wade is getting the night off. SOURCE: Ethan Skolnick, Bleacher Report
Insight: Wade won't be in the lineup Friday against Brooklyn. It's a bummer, because we really wanted to see him wear "D-WADE" on the back of his uniform. Friday's absence ends Wade's Cal Ripken-like streak of seven games played in a row.
Shane Battier, F1/10/2014 1:43:00 PM
Description: Heat small forward Shane Battier is questionable for Friday's game against Brooklyn.
Insight: He's missed four games in a row with a quad injury. Battier is a much better player for the Heat than for fantasy owners.
Mario Chalmers, G1/10/2014 1:40:00 PM
Description: Heat starting point guard Mario Chalmers missed Thursday against New York and is questionable for Friday's game against Brooklyn.
Insight: It was the second game in a row he missed with Achilles tendinitis. Norris Cole will take Chalmers' place if the starter can't go and he is averaging 10.5 ppg, 2.5 rpg and 2.0 apg over the last pair of games.
Dwyane Wade, G1/9/2014 7:35:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Dwyane Wade will start Thursday's game against the Knicks. SOURCE: Ian Begley, ESPN New York
Insight: We keep waiting for Wade, who has now played in seven straight games, to get a break. Perhaps it will come Friday versus Brooklyn.
Mario Chalmers, G1/9/2014 6:47:00 PM
Description: The Heat will be without starting point guard Mario Chalmers Thursday against New York. SOURCE: Heat on Twitter

Description: Heat forward LeBron James has scored at least 30 points in two straight games.
Insight: He had 32 points, five assists, three rebounds, two steals and three treys Tuesday against the Pelicans. James has increased his field-goal percentage for the seventh straight season, up to a career-high .589.
Dwyane Wade, G1/7/2014 6:35:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade will play Tuesday, according to Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel.
Insight: Wade will play his sixth consecutive game Tuesday. Miami's plan to protect Wade's knees this season has worked well for all parties, and the back spasms he dealt with at the end of December haven't been a problem. He'll probably sit out either Thursday at New York or Friday at Brooklyn.
Shane Battier, F1/7/2014 6:26:00 PM
Description: Heat small forward Shane Battier will miss another game Tuesday against the Pelicans. SOURCE: South Florida Sun-Sentinel
Insight: It's the third game in a row he's missed with a quad injury. The hustle and leadership Battier provides has been vital to Miami's success over the last few seasons. Unfortunately for fantasy owners, his value rarely shows up on the stat sheet (4.4 ppg in 31 contests this season).
Mario Chalmers, G1/7/2014 6:00:00 PM
Description: Heat point guard Mario Chalmers (Achilles) is out Tuesday against the Pelicans, according to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
Insight: Chalmers left Sunday's game with Achilles tendinitis and is day-to-day. He's averaging 9.3 points, 5.1 assists, 2.8 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.3 threes per game this season. Norris Cole will start, though LeBron James will probably see plenty of time at point guard as well.
Roger Mason Jr., G1/7/2014 5:35:00 PM
Description: According to Bleacher Report's Ethan Sklonick, the Heat have guaranteed guard Roger Mason Jr.'s contract for the rest of the season.
Insight: It's significant because that gives Miami a full 15-man roster. If Miami had released Mason, they might have been able to sign Andrew Bynum, who was waived by the Bulls earlier today. Bynum, though high maintenance, would have been a candidate to defend Pacers center Roy Hibbert when these teams inevitably meet in the postseason. Hibbert has manhandled Chris Bosh in the past and Greg Oden remains without a timetable as he works his way back from a knee injury.
Dwyane Wade, G1/7/2014 11:25:00 AM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade will be a game-time decision on Tuesday versus New Orleans, according to Shandel Richardson of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
Insight: Wade played three games in four days from Jan 2-5, so this might be a good time to let him recover. He's averaging 19.4 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 4.8 apg, 2.0 spg in 26 games this season.
Mario Chalmers, G1/7/2014 11:02:00 AM
Description: Heat point guard Mario Chalmers didn't play in the second half Sunday due to Achilles tendinitis and is questionable for Tuesday's game against New Orleans.
Insight: Norris Cole would play at the point, though LeBron James is known to handle the ball quite a bit himself, so Cole isn't much of a fantasy option.
Shane Battier, F1/7/2014 11:00:00 AM
Description: Miami forward Shane Battier is dealing with a sore quad and is doubtful for Tuesday's game against New Orleans.
Insight: Battier is an important role player for the Heat, but he doesn't contribute enough for fantasy owners to use him.
Mario Chalmers, G1/5/2014 7:40:00 PM
Description: Heat point guard Mario Chalmers didn't come out for the start of the second half Sunday against Toronto. He's dealing with Achilles tendinitis.
Insight: According to the Heat's Twitter page, Chalmers will not return. Norris Cole is filling in at point guard though LeBron James is known to handle the ball quite a bit himself. Chalmers is day-to-day.
Dwyane Wade, G1/5/2014 6:32:00 PM
Description: Dwyane Wade will get the start at shooting guard Sunday against Toronto. SOURCE: Ethan Skolnick, Bleacher Report
Insight: It's the first time Wade (19.6 ppg, 4.9 apg, 4.6 rpg) has played both portions of a back-to-back since November 16th. Perhaps the knee issues that have ailed him throughout the season are starting to go away. Obviously, Wade is a must-start in all fantasy formats.
Dwyane Wade, G1/4/2014 6:17:00 PM
Description: Miami shooting guard Dwyane Wade will be active for Saturday's game against Orlando. SOURCE: Michael Wallace, ESPN
Insight: Wade hasn't been playing back-to-backs, which leads us to believe he won't play Sunday against the Raptors. But for tonight at least, you can start him as you normally would.
Dwyane Wade, G1/4/2014 12:38:00 PM
Description: Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said he is not sure if shooting guard Dwyane Wade will play Saturday, according to Ethan J. Skolnick of Turner Sports.
Insight: The Heat play against Toronto on Sunday so Spoelstra may just save the guard for then. Wade dealt with back spasms this week and also has sat sporadically this season to protect his knees.
Shane Battier, F1/4/2014 12:37:00 PM
Description: Miami forward Shane Battier is dealing with a sore quad and is questionable for Saturday's game, according to Ethan J. Skolnick of Turner Sports.
Insight: Battier is an important role player for the Heat but he doesn't contribute in fantasy leagues.
Dwyane Wade, G1/2/2014 10:01:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade (back spasms) made 9-of-18 from the floor and had 22 points, five assists, four rebounds, three steals and two threes in 36 minutes Thursday against the Warriors.
Insight: Wade sat out most of the second half Tuesday due to back spasms but didn't have to miss a game. The team has sat him sporadically to protect his knees and the strategy has worked -- Wade has a career-high .541 shooting percentage and is still a strong fantasy asset.
Dwyane Wade, G1/2/2014 7:03:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade (back spasms) is starting Thursday's game.
Insight: Wade missed most of the second half Tuesday due to the back problem. Chris Andersen, F/C1/2/2014 9:44:00 AM
Description: Heat PF/C Chris Andersen missed a third straight game Monday and is questionable for Thursday's game against Golden State as he continues to deal with back soreness.
Insight: Birdman gives Miami some energy off the bench but little else. Even when active, he isn't a fantasy asset (6.4 ppg, 4.4 rpg). He'll be a game-time decision.
Dwyane Wade, G1/2/2014 9:41:00 AM
Description: Miami shooting guard Dwyane Wade (back spasms) missed Wednesday's practice and has been downgraded to doubtful for Thursday's against Golden State.
Insight: Wade missed most of the second half Tuesday due to the back problem. Norris Cole, G12/31/2013 1:37:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Norris Cole fell hard on his face Monday night against the Nuggets but he's hoping to be back in the lineup Thursday versus Golden State. SOURCE: Miami Herald

Description: Heat F/C Chris Andersen will miss a third straight game Monday as he continues to deal with back soreness. SOURCE: Heat.com

Ray Allen, G12/30/2013 8:39:00 PM
Description: Heat sixth man Ray Allen will suit up Monday against the Nuggets. Allen has been dealing with tendinitis in his right knee. SOURCE: Ira Winderman, South Florida Sun-Sentinel
Insight: Allen only plays about 25 minutes per game nowadays, but he's still as accurate as ever from beyond the arc. He's been successful on 38.1 percent of his three-point attempts this season.
LeBron James, F12/30/2013 8:35:00 PM
Description: Heat forward LeBron James is back in the lineup after missing Saturday's game with a strained groin. SOURCE: Kevin Arnovitz, ESPN
Insight: James will give it a go on his 29th birthday. So far, the four-time MVP is averaging 25.4 ppg, 6.5 apg and 6.9 rpg in 29 games this season. Miami's 23-7 record is second-best in the Eastern Conference.

Description: Miami forward LeBron James (groin, ankle) made it through the morning shootaround and will be a game-time decision
Insight: James strained his groin and aggravated an ankle injury Friday night and missed Saturday's game. The best player in the league is obviously needed by all his fantasy owners. The Heat beat Portland without him.
Chris Bosh, C12/29/2013 10:08:00 AM
Description: Miami center Chris Bosh knocked down a game-winning 25-foot jumper just before time expired Saturday night in Portland.
Insight: The three came off a slick behind the back feed from Dwyane Wade. With LeBron James sidelined by a groin injury, Bosh was asked to take on the role of go-to scorer and he didn't disappoint. The 37 points he racked up were a season-high. Miami finishes up its West Coast swing Monday night in Denver.
Ray Allen, G12/28/2013 9:24:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Ray Allen (knee) is playing Saturday against the Blazers, according to Sam Amick of USA Today.

Description: Heat guard Dwyane Wade is playing Saturday at Portland, according to Joseph Goodman of the Miami Herald.

LeBron James, F12/28/2013 8:21:00 PM

LeBron James, F12/28/2013 9:45:00 AM
Description: Miami forward LeBron James passed Larry Bird and Gary Payton on the all-time scoring list Friday but it came at a price.
Insight: James, who finished with 33 points on 12-of-23 shooting, strained his groin during the overtime period and admitted that he wasn't "feeling too good" after the game. His status is in question for Saturday night's game in Portland.
Chris Andersen, C12/27/2013 8:57:00 PM
Description: Miami F/C Chris Andersen won't play Friday against the Kings. SOURCE: Ethan Skolnick, Bleacher Report
Insight: Andersen tweaked his back in the Christmas game at Los Angeles. Udonis Haslem is probably going to see more minutes while he's out. Even when healthy, Birdman isn't a fantasy option.
Ray Allen, G12/27/2013 8:54:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Ray Allen won't be in the lineup Friday versus Sacramento. SOURCE: Ethan Skolnick, Bleacher Report
Insight: Consider it a maintenance day. Allen should be fine for Saturday's 10 p.m. tilt against Portland. The veteran is averaging a career-low 10.6 ppg this season but is shooting close to 49 percent from the field (48.7).
Dwyane Wade, G12/27/2013 8:47:00 PM
Description: Miami is resting Dwyane Wade on Friday. SOURCE: Ethan Skolnick, Bleacher Report
Insight: With three games in a four-day span, the Heat aren't taking any chances. Ray Allen is also out, which means Roger Mason is likely to get the start at shooting guard.
Ray Allen, G12/27/2013 3:50:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Ray Allen (knee) will be a game-time decision Friday against the Kings.
Insight: Erik Spoelstra may sit Allen and Dwyane Wade Friday with another game coming up Saturday. Allen is averaging 25.5 minutes, 10.6 points and 1.6 threes per game this season.
Dwyane Wade, GHot12/27/2013 1:16:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Dwyane Wade (knee) is questionable for Friday's game, according to the Miami Herald.

Dwyane Wade, GHot12/25/2013 11:00:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Dwyane Wade missed Monday's game, but came back on Wednesday with another strong effort.
Insight: Wade has sat out sporadically this season to rest his knees as he did Monday, but put up 23 points with six rebounds and seven assists against the Lakers. He just won Eastern Conference Player of the Week and has averaged 22.5 ppg on 58.7 percent shooting over his previous 11 games.
Dwyane Wade, G12/25/2013 5:01:00 PM

Michael Beasley, F12/23/2013 7:28:00 PM
Description: Miami forward Michael Beasley is active Monday for the first time since Dec. 5.
Insight: Beasley missed seven straight games due to a hamstring injury. He's picked up the scoring slack when Dwyane Wade has been out this season but he's unlikely to be leaned on in his first game back.

Description: Heat guard Dwyane Wade will miss Monday's game. Ray Allen will start.

Michael Beasley, F12/20/2013 11:49:00 AM
Description: Miami forward Michael Beasley missed Wednesday night against Indiana and is questionable for Friday's game against Sacramento.
Insight: He's missed six games in a row with a hamstring injury. He's a solid bench player for the Heat, but doesn't quite have the numbers for a fantasy starter (11.4 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 0.6 apg.
Dwyane Wade, GHot12/18/2013 11:02:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Dwyane Wade tallied 32 points on 15-of-25 shooting Wednesday against the Pacers.
Insight: Wade has missed six games but he's averaged 27.7 ppg over his last three games and 19.9 ppg this season.
LeBron James, F12/18/2013 11:00:00 PM
Description: Heat forward LeBron James had 24 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and three steals in 36 minutes of play to help Miami knock off the Pacers Wednesday.

LeBron James, F12/18/2013 6:27:00 PM
Description: Heat forward LeBron James (ankle) said he'll play Wednesday against the 20-4 Pacers.
Insight: James said his ankle has been better but it's also been worse. He's not 100 percent but should be in all fantasy lineups.
Michael Beasley, F12/18/2013 2:52:00 PM
Description: Miami will be without forward Michael Beasley Wednesday night against Indiana. SOURCE: Shandel Richardson, South Florida Sun Sentinel
Insight: He's now missed six games in a row with a hamstring injury. The Heat really could have used him tonight with LeBron James struggling with ankle problems.
LeBron James, F12/18/2013 2:43:00 PM
Description: Heat forward LeBron James (ankle) wasn't at shootaround this morning. He's going to be a true game-time decision Wednesday against Indiana. SOURCE: Brian Windhorst, ESPN
Insight: Obviously every game is important but in the grand scheme of things, James can probably afford to sit this one out. It's the regular season, after all. Shane Battier would start at small forward if LeBron can't go.
LeBron James, FHot12/17/2013 3:30:00 PM
Description: Miami forward LeBron James did not practice Tuesday and will be a game-time call Wednesday against Indiana. He's dealing with an ankle injury.
Insight: James was able to finish Monday's game so we're guessing his absence on Tuesday was precautionary. He should be ready when the whistle blows Wednesday against the Eastern Conference-leading Pacers.
LeBron James, FHot12/16/2013 10:18:00 PM
Description: Miami forward LeBron James left briefly with an ankle injury but was able to return and score 30 points Monday in an easy win over Utah.
Insight: James needed one more rebound and one more assist for a triple-double. He was 13-of-17 from the field. There's a reason they call this guy The King. Paul George and Kevin Durant have been great this year but nobody in the league is playing on LeBron's level right now.
Michael Beasley, F12/16/2013 11:56:00 AM
Description: Heat PF Michael Beasley is expected to miss the Monday night matchup with Utah.
Insight: Beasley injured his hamstring and has missed four consecutive games. He's averaging 11.4 ppg, 4.0 rpg off the Miami bench.

Dwyane Wade, G12/10/2013 6:52:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Dwyane Wade will play against Indiana on Tuesday night. SOURCE: South Florida Sun-Sentinel
Insight: Wade was held out on Sunday and the team will continue to rest him sporadically throughout the year because of his chronic knee issues. LeBron James is probably going to be covered by Paul George, which could give Wade a little extra breathing room on offense.
Michael Beasley, F12/9/2013 11:10:00 AM
Description: Heat PF Michael Beasley is questionable for Tuesday's game against Indiana due to a strained left hamstring.
Insight: Beasley tweaked his hamstring in Thursday's loss at Chicago and missed the next two games. He's averaging 11.4 ppg, 4.0 rpg off the Miami bench.

Michael Beasley, F12/7/2013 7:40:00 PM
Description: The Heat won't have Michael Beasley Saturday against the Timberwolves. SOURCE: Heat on Twitter
Insight: Beasley tweaked his hamstring in Thursday's loss at Chicago. He's had a resurgent season, averaging 11.4 ppg in just under 18 minutes per game. His 54.6 percent success rate from the field is easily a career-high.
Dwyane Wade, G12/7/2013 7:37:00 PM
Description: Miami shooting guard Dwyane Wade is back in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against Minnesota. SOURCE: Nate Sandell, 1500 ESPN Twin Cities
Insight: He missed Thursday's game in Chicago because of an illness. Wade's 18.5 ppg scoring average is his lowest since 2003-04. That was Wade's rookie season.
Dwyane Wade, G12/7/2013 1:53:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Dwyane Wade (illness) participated in shootaround Saturday and will be a game-time decision against the Timberwolves.
Insight: Wade missed Tuesday's game to protect his knees, and an illness kept him out of Thursday's contest. The guard has averaged 18.5 points, 5.4 assists, 4.6 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 0.6 blocks while shooting 53.1 percent from the field this season, but his chronic knee soreness will keep him out sporadically for the rest of the season.
Dwyane Wade, G12/5/2013 8:14:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Dwyane Wade (illness) will miss Thursday's game against the Bulls, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.
Insight: Wade missed Tuesday's game to protect his knees, and now he's dealing with an illness. The guard has averaged 18.5 points, 5.4 assists, 4.6 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 0.6 blocks while shooting 53.1 percent from the field this season.
Dwyane Wade, G12/5/2013 5:31:00 PM
Description: Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said he didn't know if guard Dwyane Wade (illness) would play Thursday, according to beat writer Ethan J. Skolnick.

Dwyane Wade, G12/5/2013 1:15:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade didn't play Tuesday, but is probable for Thursday's game against Chicago.
Insight: Wade should be fine for Thursday's matchup versus the Bulls, but given the state of his knees he could sit out one of the back-to-back games over the weekend. Frustrating? Yes, but it's probably going to play out like this all season long so get used to it.
Dwyane Wade, G12/3/2013 6:07:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade won't suit up Tuesday against Detroit. SOURCE: Heat on Twitter
Insight: He's just getting a breather after playing eight games in a row. Wade should be fine for Thursday's matchup versus the Bulls.
Mario Chalmers, G11/27/2013 2:50:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Mario Chalmers was back at shootaround and should be ready for Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers. SOURCE: Shandel Richardson, South Florida Sun Sentinel
Insight: He skipped Monday night's game because of a tight hip flexor. Norris Cole got the start at point guard in Chalmers' absence.
Shane Battier, F11/27/2013 2:42:00 PM
Description: Miami forward Shane Battier isn't available for Wednesday's game in Cleveland. SOURCE: Ethan Skolnick, Bleacher Report
Insight: He's battling a cold. Battier (4.8 ppg, 34.1 percent shooting on three-pointers) has given the Heat good production off the bench but he's not a fantasy consideration.
Dwyane Wade, GHot11/26/2013 7:18:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade has averaged 24 points, 8.0 assists and 5.0 rebounds in two games since returning from a two-game absence.
Insight: Wade will be in and out of the lineup all season due to chronic knee issues, but at least fantasy owners can count on strong production when he's active.
LeBron James, F11/25/2013 10:08:00 PM
Description: Miami forward LeBron James burned Phoenix for 35 points in Monday's win.
Insight: It was James' fifth 30-point game of the season. His 60.9 field goal percentage in 2013-14 is unheard of for a player at his position. LeBron could be headed for his third MVP award in as many seasons.
Mario Chalmers, G11/25/2013 6:58:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Mario Chalmers will miss Monday's game against Phoenix because of a tight hip flexor. SOURCE: Associated Press
Insight: It's Chalmers' second absence of the season. He's been lethal from the three-point line this season, connecting on just under 49 percent of his tries from long range. Other than that, his numbers have been pretty ordinary (9.8 ppg, 4.9 apg in 26.9 mpg).
Dwyane Wade, G11/24/2013 10:25:00 AM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade turned in a vintage performance Saturday in a narrow win over the Magic.
Insight: Wade put up 27 points in his first game back after sitting out the previous two contests with a knee injury. Two of the 27 came on a one-handed jam over Moe Harkless and Nikola Vucevic midway through the third quarter. Saturday marked the veteran's second-highest scoring output of the season (29 against the Clippers on November 7th).
LeBron James, F11/23/2013 10:36:00 PM
Description: Heat forward LeBron James flirted with a triple-double Saturday versus Orlando.
Insight: James finished with 22 points and the Heat needed every single one of them. A fourth quarter surge propelled Miami to a two-point victory. The rest of LeBron's stat line included nine rebounds, seven assists and three steals. Miraculously, James has not committed a single foul in his last three contests. Miami plays its next contest Monday against Phoenix.
Dwyane Wade, G11/23/2013 7:08:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade is back after missing two games with a knee injury. SOURCE: Ethan Skolnick, Bleacher Report
Insight: Wade (16.7 ppg, 5.2 apg, 4.6 rpg) is probably going to be in and out of the lineup all season. He's still a fairly reliable fantasy option given the lack of depth at shooting guard throughout the league but keep in mind, this isn't the 2009 Dwyane Wade we're dealing with.
Dwyane Wade, G11/21/2013 8:47:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade (knees) is expected to play Saturday after missing the last two games. SOURCE: sun-sentinel.com
Insight: Wade said he's about 70 to 75 percent healthy right now, according to the Miami Herald. The team will have to sit him sporadically for the rest of the season.
James Jones, F11/20/2013 9:41:00 PM
Description: Heat swingman James Jones started a second straight game Wednesday at Orlando and had 17 points and five threes in 20 minutes of play.
Insight: Jones had played just four minutes all season prior to the last two games, which he started with Dwyane Wade out. Wade's status going forward is uncertain, so Jones could see more starts, but he's only a fantasy option for owners desperate for threes in 14-16 team leagues.
Michael Beasley, F11/20/2013 7:09:00 PM
Description: Heat forward Michael Beasley scored 14 points with seven rebounds in just 21 minutes of play Wednesday at Orlando.
Insight: After playing a total of four minutes over the first six games of the season, Beasley has played 17.5 minutes per game and averaged 11.7 points and 2.8 rebounds over the last six. He's still not a fantasy option, however.
Dwyane Wade, G11/20/2013 6:28:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade (knees) will miss Wednesday's game. He also sat out Tuesday.
Insight: Wade said he's about 70 to 75 percent healthy right now, according to the Miami Herald. The team will have to sit him sporadically for the rest of the season.
Dwyane Wade, G11/20/2013 10:39:00 AM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade is being listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Magic. SOURCE: Miami Herald
Insight: He missed Tuesday's game with a sore knee. Wade said he's about 70 to 75 percent healthy right now. For what it's worth, he did travel with the team to Orlando.
LeBron James, F11/20/2013 9:50:00 AM
Description: Miami forward LeBron James produced a season-low 13 points Tuesday in a win over Atlanta.
Insight: The 13 shots he attempted were his fewest since the season opener against Chicago. James is averaging a career-low 35.5 mpg this season. Despite the lack of playing time (at least by his standards), LeBron remains a top-three fantasy player.
Dwyane Wade, G11/19/2013 6:15:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade won't be in the lineup Tuesday against the Hawks. SOURCE: Heat on Twitter
Insight: It's the first half of a back-to-back which means the Heat are probably saving Wade for Wednesday's game in Orlando. Roger Mason Jr. got the start at shooting guard the last time Wade got the night off.
Mario Chalmers, G11/19/2013 11:29:00 AM
Description: Miami point guard Mario Chalmers, who was suspended for Saturday's game against the Bobcats, should be back in the lineup for Tuesday's game.
Insight: Chalmers was whistled for a flagrant in Friday's win over Dallas for elbowing Dirk Nowitzki in the head. He's a low-end fantasy option averaging 9.7 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 5.0 apg.
Dwyane Wade, G11/19/2013 11:27:00 AM
Description: Dwyane Wade is probable for Tuesday's game against Atlanta. He's dealing with his chronic sore knees.
Insight: Wade hasn't been playing in the second game of back-to-backs this season to protect his knees, but they will from time to time act up anyway. fantasy owners always have to check to make sure Wade is in the lineup.
Ray Allen, G11/19/2013 11:24:00 AM
Description: Heat guard Ray Allen was back at practice Monday and appears to be ready to return for Tuesday's game against Atlanta.
Insight: Allen's only value these days is in his three-point ability (1.6 per contest).
Dwyane Wade, G11/17/2013 12:38:00 PM
Description: Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said Dwyane Wade was sore toward the end of the third quarter Saturday night, so he sat him out the rest of the game. He's expected to play Tuesday but is iffy for Wednesday. SOURCE: sun-sentinel.com
Insight: Wade hasn't been playing in the second game of back-to-backs this season to protect his knees, but with Mario Chalmers suspended for a game and Ray Allen out with the flu, Miami needed Wade to start Saturday. The game was well in hand by the time Wade came out.
Dwyane Wade, G11/16/2013 9:41:00 PM
Description: Miami coach Erik Spoelstra limited Dwyane Wade to 23 minutes Saturday against the Bobcats.
Insight: Wade hasn't been playing in the second game of back-to-backs this season to protect his knees, but with Mario Chalmers suspended for a game and Ray Allen out with the flu, Miami needed Wade to start Saturday. However, the Heat was up 26-16 after the first quarter and coasted to a 16-point win.
LeBron James, FHot11/16/2013 9:38:00 PM
Description: Heat forward LeBron James has scored at least 30 points in three straight games.
Insight: James has shot a blazing 40-of-57 (.702) from the field in that span. He's hitting shots at a career-high .622 clip this season.
Dwyane Wade, G11/16/2013 6:17:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Dwyane Wade will start Saturday against the Bobcats.
Insight: Wade hasn't been playing in the second game of back-to-backs this season to protect his knees, but with Mario Chalmers suspended for a game and Ray Allen out with the flu, Miami needs Wade in the backcourt.
Mario Chalmers, G11/16/2013 3:41:00 PM
Description: Miami point guard Mario Chalmers has been suspended for Saturday's game against the Bobcats. SOURCE: Shandel Richardson, South Florida Sun Sentinel
Insight: Chalmers was whistled for a flagrant in Friday's win over Dallas for elbowing Dirk Nowitzki in the head. Norris Cole should get the start at point guard in Chalmers' place. He averaged 13.0 ppg in four starts last season.
Dwyane Wade, G11/15/2013 10:17:00 PM
Description: Dwyane Wade hounded the Mavericks for eight steals in Friday's 110-104 victory at American Airlines Arena.
Insight: The Heat shooting guard finished with 17 points, five rebounds and eight assists in 36 minutes. Despite playing well on Friday, Wade is questionable for Saturday's game in Charlotte. The 31-year-old hasn't been playing in back-to-backs because of his knees.
LeBron James, FHot11/15/2013 10:17:00 PM
Description: LeBron James is heating up. The Heat forward scored 39 points in Friday's victory over the Mavs.
Insight: He shot an impeccable 14-of-18 from the field. He was even better from the free throw line (10-of-11). The turnovers are a problem (six on Friday) but that's to be expected when you're handling the ball as much as James is. He's the most complete player in fantasy, hands down.
Dwyane Wade, GHot11/15/2013 8:25:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Dwyane Wade may not play Saturday against Charlotte. SOURCE: Ira Winderman, South Florida Sun Sentinel
Insight: He hasn't been playing back-to-backs and Miami should be able to beat the Bobcats without Wade's assistance. Wade is active for tonight's game against the Mavs.
Udonis Haslem, F11/15/2013 7:25:00 PM
Description: Miami power forward Udonis Haslem won't be in action Friday against the Mavericks. SOURCE: Michael Wallace, ESPN
Insight: Haslem is still struggling with back spasms. Friday will mark the veteran's fourth absence in a row. Consider him questionable for tomorrow's tilt against the Bobcats.
Ray Allen, G11/15/2013 7:07:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Ray Allen is out for Friday's game versus Dallas. He's spent most of the week battling flulike symptoms. SOURCE: Ira Winderman, South Florida Sun Sentinel
Insight: He won't travel with the team to Charlotte on Saturday either. Allen doesn't start anymore so it's not a huge loss for fantasy owners.
Udonis Haslem, F11/15/2013 10:57:00 AM
Description: Heat forward Udonis Haslem is questionable for Friday's game against Dallas The veteran has been battling back spasms.
Insight: Though he plays good defense, Haslem's lack of scoring and just 16 mpg makes it tough to use him in almost any fantasy format.
Ray Allen, G11/15/2013 10:55:00 AM
Description: Miami shooting guard Ray Allen is questionable for Friday's game against Dallas due to flu-like symptoms.
Insight: Allen provides low-end value (11.0 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 3.3 apg, 0.7 spg, 1.6 3pt) when healthy.
Greg Oden, C11/12/2013 11:24:00 AM
Description: Heat center Greg Oden has yet to make his season debut and there is no timetable for his return.
Insight: Oden hasn't played since December 2009, so the Heat are easing the former No. 1 overall pick back into action. He's not worth drafting in standard fantasy leagues as he'll be limited when/if he does return to the court.
LeBron James, F11/11/2013 4:17:00 PM
Description: Miami forward LeBron James (back spasms) said he will play Tuesday against Milwaukee, according to Michael Wallace of ESPN.com.
Insight: "I'm active tomorrow. Y'all need to stop trying to treat me like D-Wade around here," James said jokingly to reporters on Monday.
LeBron James, F11/10/2013 2:07:00 PM
Description: Miami forward LeBron James admitted that his back injury is still bothering him.
Insight: James looked fine in Saturday's loss to Boston, contributing 25 points eight boards and ten assists in 37 minutes of court time. We'll continue to monitor him closely but for now it appears LeBron will keep playing through the pain.
LeBron James, F11/10/2013 10:25:00 AM
Description: Heat forward LeBron James came close to a triple-double Saturday against Boston (25 points, 10 assists, eight rebounds).
Insight: Unfortunately for LeBron, it came in a losing effort. Miami is off to a 4-3 start, its worst since 2008-09. At least LeBron owners can take solace in the fact that his back injury doesn't seem to be affecting his scoring output.
Udonis Haslem, F11/9/2013 7:44:00 PM
Description: Heat forward Udonis Haslem won't be in the lineup Saturday against the Celtics. The veteran has been battling back spasms. SOURCE: Heat on Twitter
Insight: It's his first absence of the season. Though he plays good defense, Haslem's lack of scoring makes it tough to employ him in fantasy leagues (just 3.0 ppg in six games). Sharp-shooter Shane Battier is taking his place in the starting lineup.
LeBron James, F11/9/2013 7:23:00 PM
Description: Heat forward LeBron James will play through back spasms Saturday against the Celtics. SOURCE: Ethan Skolnick, Bleacher Report
Insight: There's a good chance Miami will be able to jump out to a big lead early and give James some rest in the second half. James averaged 29.3 ppg against the Celtics in 2012-13, though that was a much different team than the one he'll be facing on Saturday.
Dwyane Wade, GHot11/7/2013 10:03:00 PM
Description: Miami shooting guard Dwyane Wade reached 20 points for the fourth straight game with a season-high 29 Thursday against the Clippers.
Insight: Sitting out last Wednesday's game at Philadelphia in the second half of a back-to-back worked wonders for Wade, who has played at least 34 minutes in each of the last four games and shot 35-of-68 (.515) from the field in that span.
Chris Bosh, C11/7/2013 11:04:00 AM
Description: Heat center Chris Bosh missed Tuesday's game, but is probable for Thursday's game against the LA Clippers.
Insight: Bosh's wife gave birth Monday. He should be back in the lineup Thursday against the Clippers and in fantasy lineups.
LeBron James, F11/5/2013 10:06:00 PM
Description: LeBron James proved once again why he's the best player on the planet Tuesday in a convincing victory over Toronto.
Insight: The Miami forward exploded for a season-best 35 points on 13-of-20 shooting. He nearly finished with a triple-double, contributing eight rebounds and eight assists in 36 minutes of court time. The 20 shots James attempted were a season-high.
Chris Bosh, C11/5/2013 5:55:00 PM
Description: Heat center Chris Bosh will miss Tuesday's game.
Insight: Bosh's wife gave birth Monday. He should be back in the lineup Thursday against the Clippers.
Dwyane Wade, G11/1/2013 8:18:00 PM
Description: Dwyane Wade was back on the court Friday for Miami's game against Brooklyn.
Insight: He sat out Wednesday at Philly and probably won't play back-to-backs until further notice. Luckily for fantasy owners, the Heat won't have another back-to-back until November 19th and 20th.
Dwyane Wade, G11/1/2013 10:26:00 AM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade sat out Wednesday's game against the Sixers to rest, but is probable for Friday's game against Brooklyn.
Insight: Miami is expected to sit Dwyane Wade in back-to-back games through the end of the calendar year and in a few games they think they can win without him to make sure he's healthy for the playoff run. He should be ready for Friday's matchup.
Dwyane Wade, G10/30/2013 5:49:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade will sit out Wednesday's game against the Sixers to rest, according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com.
Insight: Miami's main goal as it tries to three-peat is to reach the playoffs with everyone healthy. Wade suffered through injuries all of last season and postseason and will get sporadic days off this year, especially when the team has back-to-backs or is playing an inferior opponent like Philadelphia.
LeBron James, F10/30/2013 9:14:00 AM
Description: While Tuesday's season-opening win over the Bulls wasn't one of LeBron James' more memorable games, the superstar forward still managed to lead his team in scoring with 17 points in 38 minutes.
Insight: He also contributed six boards and eight assists. The Heat were in cruise control for most of this game so LeBron could afford to take his foot off the gas at times. Wednesday's game in Philly should be even less competitive which could lead to an early exit for The King.
Shane Battier, F10/29/2013 10:58:00 PM
Description: Heat forward Shane Battier was lights out Tuesday in a season-opening victory over Chicago.
Insight: The 35-year-old shot an incredible 5-of-6 from the field including 4-of-4 from downtown. He won't play big minutes this year (he only played 22 on Tuesday) but if you're searching for a guy who can knock down threes, look no further.
Greg Oden, C10/28/2013 9:13:00 PM
Description: Heat center Greg Oden is not expected to play in the season opener Tuesday, according to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
Insight: Oden hasn't played since December 2009, so the Heat are easing the former No. 1 overall pick back into action. He's not worth drafting in standard fantasy leagues.
Greg Oden, C10/24/2013 10:35:00 PM
Description: Heat center Greg Oden saw his first game action in almost four years Wednesday night against New Orleans.
Insight: Oden scored two points in four minutes of action. He also gave away two turnovers and committed a pair of fouls. It's great to see Oden back on the floor but he's unlikely to be a contributor for any fantasy teams this season.
Ray Allen, G10/19/2013 10:38:00 PM
Description: Miami shooting guard Ray Allen has missed three straight preseason games, but Heat coach Erik Spoelstra confirmed that he isn't hurt.
Insight: According to Ethan J. Skolnick of Turner Sports, Spoelstra said he wanted to get a look at Roger Mason Jr. with different lineups. Allen will be ready for the season opener and fantasy owners can expect something similar to what he provided last season -- 10.9 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 1.7 apg, 0.8 spg, 1.8 3pt.
Michael Beasley, F9/12/2013 7:09:00 PM
Description: Michael Beasley is back with the team he started his career with, the Miami Heat.
Insight: When you have LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in your lineup, you can afford to gamble with the rest of your roster. Hey, it worked out with Birdman didn't it? Maybe Beasley will experience a similar renaissance now that he's in South Beach.
Dwyane Wade, G8/16/2013 11:33:00 AM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade admits to having tendinitis in both knees, according to Ira Winderman of the South Florida SunSentinel.
Insight: After limping his way through the first three playoff rounds (literally and figuratively), Wade was outstanding in the Finals, contributing 19.6 ppg on 47.6 percent shooting. Expect the team to be very cautious with Wade's regular-season playing time this year and fantasy owners should discount his value because of it.
Greg Oden, C8/2/2013 9:20:00 PM
Description: The Miami Heat have won the Greg Oden sweepstakes. SOURCE: Marc Stein, ESPN
Insight: The two sides agreed to a two-year contract on Friday. Signing Oden makes plenty of sense for the Heat. The only true low post presence they have is Birdman and with the Big Three running the offense, none of the pressure will be on Oden. Of course the big question is, can he stay healthy? That remains to be seen.
Mike Miller, G7/17/2013 12:47:00 PM
Description: Miami has decided to amnesty veteran shooting guard Mike Miller. SOURCE: Ethan J. Skolnick, Palm Beach Post
Insight: As soon as he passes through waivers, Miller will become a free agent. The former Sixth Man of the Year averaged 5.4 ppg during his three seasons in South Beach. A three-point specialist, the 6-foot-8 Miller shouldn't have any trouble finding a new team.
Chris Andersen, C7/10/2013 7:24:00 PM
Description: ESPN's SportsCenter reports that the Heat have re-signed Chris "Birdman" Andersen to a one-year contract.
Insight: He'll make the veteran's minimum ($1.7 million). The deal also includes an option for the 2014-15 season. Though he's never been a stat-stuffer, Birdman gives the Heat size and toughness in the low post. The energetic big man shot an incredible 80.7 percent from the floor this past postseason.
Udonis Haslem, F6/30/2013 3:30:00 PM
Description: Miami power forward Udonis Haslem admitted that he played through a torn meniscus in the second half of last season. SOURCE: Tim Reynolds, Associated Press
Insight: Now he'll need surgery to repair the damage. Haslem's recovery could take anywhere from four to eight weeks. Much of his fantasy value heading into next season hinges on whether or not the Heat re-sign Chris Andersen.
Ray Allen, G6/28/2013 9:24:00 PM
Description: A few days ago, it looked like Ray Allen would become a free agent. Instead, he's decided to pick up his option for next season which will keep the ten-time All-Star in Miami. SOURCE: Chris Tomasson, Fox Sports Florida
Insight: The 37-year-old will earn $3.229 million next season. He's about as good of a sixth man as you'll find in basketball and despite his age, his jumper is as pretty as ever. He's a nice low risk fantasy option, especially in leagues that put an emphasis on three-point shooting.
Chris Bosh, C6/26/2013 8:16:00 PM
Description: When asked about his team's plans for the future, Heat president Pat Riley told reporters, "We hope to bring all of our guys back." SOURCE: Tom Haberstroh, ESPN
Insight: We're assuming that includes Chris Bosh, who some have speculated could be moved in a trade this summer. Aside from Bosh, who is under contract through at least next season, the Heat will also have to make decisions about Ray Allen (expected to opt out of his current contract) and Chris Andersen (unrestricted free agent). The team has already said it will pick up point guard Mario Chalmers' $4 million option for 2013-14.
Ray Allen, G6/26/2013 7:49:00 PM
Description: Ray Allen is expected to test free agency rather than picking up his option for next season. SOURCE: South Florida Sun-Sentinel
Insight: Allen averaged 10.9 ppg in 25.8 minutes per contest with the Heat last season. Both were his lowest in 17 seasons of professional basketball. Despite seeing fewer minutes than usual and not starting a game for the first time in his career, Allen proved that even at age 37, he can still be incredibly clutch. The championship parade would have been held in San Antonio this year if not fot Allen's game-tying three-pointer at the end of regulation in Game 6 of the Finals. Many teams will be interested but we're guessing Allen stays with the Heat and tries for one last title before calling it quits.
Mario Chalmers, G6/26/2013 6:32:00 PM
Description: According to Tim Reynolds from the Associated Press, the Heat are expected to pick up Mario Chalmers' $4 million option for next season.
Insight: Chalmers (8.6 ppg, 3.5 apg) is Miami's point guard in name only. Anyone who follows the Heat knows that LeBron James is the one running the offense. Chalmers isn't a bad player, especially on the defensive end, but fantasy owners can obviously do much better.
Chris Bosh, C6/23/2013 10:45:00 AM
Description: In a roundtable discussion with Brian Windhorst and Israel Gutierrez Sunday on SportsCenter, ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith suggested that the Heat could look to deal center Chris Bosh this offseason.
Insight: Stephen A. probably isn't alone in this sentiment. Although he did play tough defense on Tim Duncan throughout most of the series, Bosh vanished in Game 7, going scoreless in 28 minutes of action. The Big Three is clearly only a Big Two at this point and trading Bosh now while his value is still relatively high might be the Heat's best option. The returns of Derrick Rose and Danny Granger next season will only make things tougher for the defending champs. It's also worth noting that LeBron James can opt out of his contract after 2014.
Dwyane Wade, G6/22/2013 6:46:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade had his knee drained prior to Thursday night's Game 7 against the Spurs. SOURCE: Brian Windhorst, ESPN
Insight: After limping his way through the first three rounds (literally and figuratively), Wade was outstanding in the Finals, contributing 19.6 ppg on 47.6 percent shooting. Wade registered 23 points and 10 rebounds in 39 minutes Thursday in the decisive Game 7. At age 31, he's still a top-ten talent.
Chris Andersen, C6/18/2013 8:16:00 PM
Description: Heat center Chris Andersen should see playing time in Tuesday's Game 6 against the Spurs. SOURCE: South Florida Sun-Sentinel
Insight: Birdman hasn't played since Game 3. With Miami's season on the line, we'd expect head coach Erik Spoelstra to pull out all the stops in Game 6.
Chris Bosh, C6/14/2013 8:04:00 PM
Description: Heat center Chris Bosh was hit with a $5,000 fine after flopping in Game 4 of the NBA Finals.
Insight: There's been plenty of flopping in the playoffs and the Heat seem to be doing most of it. LeBron James was fined for flopping a few weeks ago and Dwyane Wade has had a few questionable plays as well. Bosh scored 20 points Thursday in Game 4, his highest point total since Game 3 of the Chicago series.
Mike Miller, G6/13/2013 6:57:00 PM
Description: According to ESPN, Mike Miller might get the start at small forward Thursday against the Spurs.
Insight: Miami is desperate for offense and Miller has been their hottest shooter this series (10-for-11 in the first three games). If Miller does get the start, Udonis Haslem would move to the bench.
Shane Battier, F6/8/2013 9:51:00 PM
Description: Miami small forward Shane Battier acknowledged that he could retire after next season. SOURCE: USA Today
Insight: That's when his contract expires. Battier has given the Heat good production off the bench this season, averaging 6.6 ppg in 72 regular season games.
Ray Allen, G6/5/2013 7:32:00 PM
Description: Miami shooting guard Ray Allen hasn't made his decision yet on whether or not he'll return to the Heat next season. SOURCE: Gary Washburn, Boston Globe
Insight: At age 37, retirement is definitely a possibility for Allen, especially if the Heat win the title. Allen can also opt out of his contract and test free agency, though we're assuming he'd want to finish his career with Miami. He's been a nonfactor in the playoffs, averaging just 10 ppg in a little under 24 minutes per contest.
Chris Andersen, F5/31/2013 9:17:00 PM
Description: Heat big man Chris "Birdman" Andersen has been suspended for Saturday's Game 6 against the Pacers.
Insight: Birdman was given a flagrant for shoving Tyler Hansbrough in the first half of Thursday's Game 5. Udonis Haslem and Joel Anthony should see more minutes with Andersen out of the lineup.
LeBron James, F5/30/2013 6:14:00 PM
Description: Heat forward LeBron James was one of three players fined for flopping during Tuesday night's Game 4 in Indiana.
Insight: Lance Stephenson and David West also had to pay $5,000 fines. On Tuesday, James scored 24 points in 43 minutes before fouling out. He'll look to rebound Thursday in Game 5.
Mario Chalmers, G5/27/2013 8:35:00 PM
Description: South Florida Sun Sentinel reporter Shandel Richardson suspects that Mario Chalmers' shoulder injury will remain an issue throughout the rest of the postseason.
Insight: Chalmers will continue to play through the injury. He's averaging 7.8 ppg on 44.6 percent shooting this postseason.
Dwyane Wade, G5/26/2013 7:32:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade will not be fined or suspended for his elbow hit on Pacers guard Lance Stephenson. He was given a retroactive flagrant-1 foul.
Insight: This won't effect Wade in any way as you need four flagrant fouls before a one-game suspension and it's his first of the postseason.
Mike Miller, G5/26/2013 6:50:00 PM
Description: Miami shooting guard Mike Miller is questionable for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals Sunday against Indiana with a sore rib cage.
Insight: Even if he plays, don't expect Miller to produce anything noteworthy in the eight minutes of playing time. He's averaging 2.5 ppg in six playoff games.
Mario Chalmers, G5/24/2013 7:21:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Mario Chalmers is in the starting lineup Friday for Game 2 against the Pacers.
Insight: Chalmers played just 21 minutes in Game 1 due to a shoulder injury. He's averaging 7.3 points, 3.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 26 minutes in 10 games this postseason.
Chris Andersen, F5/23/2013 9:27:00 AM
Description: Birdman scored 16 points on perfect 7-of-7 shooting Wednesday in a Game 1 victory over the Pacers.
Insight: He also recorded five rebounds and three blocked shots. The tatted-up big man has turned into a sensational role player for Miami. Andersen is averaging 7.9 ppg on 82.9 percent shooting this postseason. He's also shooting a respectable 75 percent from the free throw line.
LeBron James, F5/23/2013 9:23:00 AM
Description: Heat forward LeBron James (30 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists) collected a triple-double in Wednesday night's overtime win against the Pacers.
Insight: And as usual, he hit the game-winning bucket on a driving layup on the last play of overtime. Miami has opened the playoffs by winning nine of its first ten games. Game 2 will be played Friday at American Airlines Arena in Miami.
Dwyane Wade, G5/15/2013 6:10:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade (knee) said he will play Wednesday in Game 5 against the Bulls, according to Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel.
Insight: Wade is dealing with multiple bone bruises in his knee and has been limited during these playoffs.
Dwyane Wade, G5/15/2013 1:50:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade (knee) took part in the Wednesday morning shootaround, but is still a game-time decision.
Insight: Wade is dealing with multiple bone bruises in his knee. He'll likely play Game 5, but the team could gamble with a 3-1 series lead and give him the night off. Check back closer to tipoff.
Dwyane Wade, GCold5/14/2013 6:39:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade (knee) had another round of treatment on his knee Tuesday and he will be reevaluated Wednesday prior to Game 5 against the Bulls, according to Michael Wallace of ESPN.
Insight: Wade is still dealing with multiple bone bruises in his knee but cannot take the necessary time off to rest because it's playoff time. He'll likely play Game 5, but will be limited in what he can contribute.
Dwyane Wade, GCold5/13/2013 10:00:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade was limited to six points in 29 minutes Monday versus Chicago.
Insight: Wade's knee has been bothering him all series and it's probably something he'll have to deal with for the duration of these playoffs. He's averaging 12.3 ppg for the postseason.
LeBron James, F5/13/2013 9:54:00 PM
Description: LeBron James led the Heat with 27 points Monday in a win over the Bulls.
Insight: He also registered seven rebounds and eight assists. Miami can close the series out Wednesday in Game 5.
Dwyane Wade, G5/6/2013 1:42:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade (knee) is probable for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals Monday against Chicago.
Insight: Wade practiced Friday and confirmed at the Monday shootaround that he's "good to go," according to Ira Winderman of the South Florida SunSentinel.
LeBron James, F5/3/2013 8:28:00 PM
Description: ESPN is reporting that Heat forward LeBron James has been named the NBA's Most Valuable Player for the 2012-13 regular season.
Insight: The official announcement will come on Sunday. James is the fourth player in league history to win four MVP awards. The others have all been enshrined in Springfield: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan and Bill Russell. LeBron and the Heat will play the winner of Saturday's Bulls/Nets game in the second round of the playoffs.
Dwyane Wade, G5/3/2013 1:28:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade (knee) practiced Friday and is day-to-day. SOURCE: Ethan J. Skolnick, Palm Beach Post
Insight: Wade sat out Game 4 against Milwaukee, which Miami won easily. He should be ready for the second round, which starts in Miami on Monday, May 6 against either the Nets or Bulls.
Dwyane Wade, G4/28/2013 9:32:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade (knee) said that he will be ready for next weekend's series against the winner of the Bulls-Nets series. SOURCE: Ethan J. Skolnick, Palm Beach Post
Insight: Miami won Game 4 without Wade to wrap up its series against Milwaukee. Wade will have a few extra days off to get his knee ready.
Dwyane Wade, G4/28/2013 3:26:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade (knee) will miss Sunday's Game 4 against the Bucks. Mike Miller will start.
Insight: The team doesn't exactly need Wade to finish off Milwaukee. Miami leads 3-0.
Dwyane Wade, G4/27/2013 7:06:00 PM
Description: Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade will be a game-time call Sunday for Game 4 against the Bucks. SOURCE: Heat on Twitter
Insight: A knee injury that plagued Wade earlier in the season has resurfaced. Mike Miller would move into the starting five if Wade sits out on Sunday.
Dwyane Wade, G4/25/2013 9:50:00 PM
Description: Miami guard Dwyane Wade had a brutal shooting night Thursday against the Bucks (1-for-12) but he made up for it by distributing a game-high 11 assists.
Insight: It says a lot about just how deep this team is when Wade makes only one shot and the Heat still win by 13 points. Wade should be much better in Game 4.
Ray Allen, G4/25/2013 9:47:00 PM
Description: Heat guard Ray Allen led all scorers with 23 points Thursday in a Game 3 win over Milwaukee.
Insight: Allen torched his former team by hitting 5-of-8 from downtown. Miami will go for the sweep Sunday afternoon at the Bradley Center.
Shane Battier, F4/25/2013 7:55:00 PM
Description: Heat forward Shane Battier played Thursday night against the Bucks despite suffering a chin injury that required stitches in Game 2.
Insight: Battier has really struggled with his shot this series (3-for-13 over the first two games). With that said, he could get hot at any time.

Insight: The Bucks never really posed a challenge to the Heat and LeBron (27 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists) was able to watch the game's final minutes from the bench. The superstar forward should be well-rested for Tuesday's Game 2.
Dwyane Wade, G4/18/2013 10:17:00 AM
