Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Mike Cammalleri's backhander with 23
seconds left lifted the Calgary Flames to a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings
Cammalleri took a pass from Mikael Backlund in front of the net and managed to
shovel a backhander past Ben Scrivens as he fell to the ice. Karri Ramo was
able to hold strong the rest of the way to seal the win.
Blair Jones also scored and Ramo made 21 saves in the win, Calgary's
first in three tries.
"To get the win was special. We wanted to get a big one for them [the fathers]
tonight, and against a good team," Cammalleri said.
Many of the fathers of the Flames' players were in attendance.
Justin Williams notched the lone goal for the Kings, losers in four of their

well is the way he works every day, because he did not play for quite a while
and watching this guy in practice and in the gym, I knew that he would be
ready and he deserves big credit," Calgary coach Bob Hartley said.
Jones opened up the scoring with his short-handed goal at the 15:50 mark of
the second period. The Flames dumped the puck into the LA zone and Scrivens
tripped as he attempted to control the puck. Paul Byron was able to get to the
loose disc and fire to Jones, who shoveled it into the empty net.
With 4 1/2 minutes left, Williams skated in along the right side and fired a
wrister past Ramo from the right circle to tie the game.
The teams combined to go 0-for-8 on the power play ... Cammalleri has 10 goals
this season ... Williams notched his 10th goal of the season ... Anze Kopitar
has 17 assists this season.
