San Jose, CA (Sports Network) - The San Jose Sharks signed four players to contracts on Tuesday, chief among them unrestricted free agent defenseman Brad Stuart.
Stuart, whose rights were acquired on June 10 from the Detroit Red Wings, was given a three-year contract. He totaled six goals and 21 points in 81 games last year for the Wings.
The former third-overall selection -- by San Jose -- in the 1998 draft, Stuart has logged 876 NHL games with the Sharks, Bruins, Flames, Kings and Red Wings since 1999.
Defenseman Justin Braun, who was given a three-year deal, has compiled four goals and 22 points in 94 games over the past two seasons for San Jose, while forward Tommy Wingels, who inked a new two-year pact, notched three goals and nine points in 33 contests in 2011-12.
Forward Andrew Desjardins was supplied a one-year deal. The 25-year-old Canadian picked up four scores and 17 points in 76 appearances a year ago for the Sharks.
