St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The St. Louis Blues activated forward Alexander Steen from injured reserve on Friday.
Steen missed the last 11 games since suffering a concussion, which the club revealed upon placing him on IR back on Dec. 28 as most likely occurring as a result of several hits in prior contests.
"I think we're going to play him as much as he can handle," said Blues head coach Ken Hitchcock. "Hopefully he can get up to speed right away and play the minutes that he did before and contribute the way he did before because he was a huge impact player for us."
Before the setback, Steen totaled a career-high 24 goals and 14 assists in 35 games.
St. Louis, which dropped a 4-1 decision to the Kings at home on Thursday, face the Anaheim Ducks at Scottrade Center on Saturday night.
