Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Brent Seabrook and Jonathan Toews posted a goal and an assist each and the Chicago Blackhawks continued their torrid start to the season with a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday.
Patrick Sharp also scored while Ray Emery made 25 saves for the Blackhawks, who have now recorded at least a point in all 15 games this season.
"We came out hard because the guys wanted to get the jump in this game," said Seabrook. "We were able to get some quick goals and Ray (Emery) made some good stops back there all day."
With a record of 12-0-3, Chicago tied the 1984-85 Edmonton Oilers 15-game stretch to start the season and with a point in its next game against Vancouver on Tuesday, the team will tie the 2006-07 Anaheim Ducks' all-time record with 16 straight to begin a campaign.
Mike Richards had a pair of goals for the Kings, who had won two straight coming in. Jonathan Quick made 34 saves in the loss.
Chicago took a 1-0 lead just 6:29 into the game when a hard pass from the right boards by Duncan Keith saw Seabrook gather the puck from the left side before snapping a wrister for his second of the year.
Skating on the power play, Chicago made it 2-0 four minutes later when Keith's slap-pass from the top of the left circle hit off the stick of Toews. The puck hit the right post and sat on the goal line, but Toews was able to push it in despite having a defender draped all over him.
The Blackhawks made it 3-0 just 56 seconds into the second period when Sharp wristed it in the loose puck from the slot for his third of the season.
The Kings finally got on the board in the third period while skating on the power play as Richards wound up for a shot and blasted it into the left corner from the high slot just 56 seconds in.
Richards again scored on the power play with a slapper from the top of the slot with 7:10 to play to make it a one-goal game.
Los Angeles skated the final minute 6-on-4 after a penalty to Johnny Oduya and pulling Quick for an extra attacker, but Chicago was able to limit the chances and extended its point streak.
Los Angeles plays in Edmonton on Tuesday ... Chicago took a 5-2 win in Los Angeles on Jan. 19 ... L.A. was 2-for-4 on the power play while Chicago was 1- for-5 ... Chicago has won six of its last seven, overall.
