Thomas became the first player in Wisconsin history to bring home the Outland Trophy this past season, recognizing the nation's top lineman...Considered by most to be the best at his position in this year's draft Thomas, a two-time AP All-American, is expected to go early in the first round...He is the first First Team All-American on the line for the Badgers since 1999 and was also named to the Walter Camp Offensive All-American Team this past season aswell...Thomas was also a semifinalist for the Lombardi Award, not to mention a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and a finalist for the Draddy Trophy which goes to the top scholar athlete in the nation...Suffered a torn left ACL in 2005, forcing him to miss the team's 2006 spring practice as he rehabbed following off-season surgery...Looked a bit hesitant early on this past season, but once he regained his confidence he was again one of the toughest forces to beat in the trenches...Thomas shows great mobility for someone his size and considering the injury there are few who rival his overall ability and skill...Showed versatility by setting the Wisconsin indoor record for the shot put with a throw of just over 62 feet in 2005.
