Description: The Cleveland Plain Dealer is reporting that the Browns are no longer interested in acquiring New England quarterback Ryan Mallett.
Insight: Apparently the Patriots' asking price for Mallett was too high (New England wants a second-rounder as compensation). Some people are saying that Mallett is better than any quarterback in this year's draft. Bill Belichick and company should get plenty more phone calls about Mallett before Roger Goodell takes the podium tonight in New York.

Description: Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that the Browns could be interested in acquiring quarterback Ryan Mallett from the Patriots.
Insight: Cleveland's vice president of player personnel Mike Lombardi is apparently very high on Mallett despite the fact that he's only completed one pass in the NFL. If Mallett came to the Browns, he'd have to battle Brandon Weeden and Colt McCoy for the starting job.

Insight: Mallett, a third round choice in 2011, was the better of the two throwers in preseason. The former Arkansas Razorback was 33-of-67 for 300 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT. Hoyer was 22-of-47 for 196 yards 1 TD, 1 INT.
