(Sports Network) - The Denver Broncos will wrap up their two-game West Coast swing to begin the preseason when they face off with the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday at CenturyLink Field.
Shaun Phillips' fumble return for a touchdown proved to be the difference as the Broncos earned a 10-6 win over the San Francisco 49ers in the Bay Area last Thursday.
Peyton Manning played just one series and went 2-for-4 for 13 yards while Brock Osweiler was 13-for-18 for 105 yards and Matt Prater kicked a field goal in the fourth quarter for the Broncos, who went 13-3 last season to win the AFC West, winning their final 11 games in the regular season before losing to Baltimore in the divisional round of the playoffs.
The Seahawks, meanwhile, were impressive in their preseason opener, routing San Diego, 31-10, in Southern California. Tarvaris Jackson tossed a pair of touchdown passes in relief of starter Russell Wilson in that one.
Wilson, of course, emerged as Seattle's future during his rookie campaign last season, as the third-round pick led the Seahawks to an 11-5 record and had his squad within a play of the NFC Championship Game before a last-second Matt Bryant field goal lifted the Atlanta Falcons to victory.
Wilson played just two series Thursday, going 2-for-6 for 23 yards while rushing twice for nine yards. Jackson, who started under center for the Seahawks back in 2011, finished 8-of-9 for 128 yards.
Brady Quinn completed 6-of-11 passes for 59 yards and a score, while rookie running back Christine Michael rushed 16 times for 89 yards in the victory.
The Broncos have a lopsided 8-2 all-time preseason mark against Seattle.
"This will be our last road trip in the preseason," Denver coach John Fox said. "In week two we have a long trip to New York, so we're kind of treating it like it's a practice road game. And it's a hostile environment, it's on artificial turf -- so there are a lot of similarities and we're approaching it that way."
