Englewood, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Denver Broncos will be without defensive end Derek Wolfe for Sunday's critical AFC West clash at Kansas City.
The team announced Saturday that Wolfe has been downgraded to out after becoming ill on Friday's team bus ride to Denver International Airport.
"After the club's medical staff examined him, he was taken to the hospital by ambulance for testing and observation," the Broncos said in a statement. "At this time, Wolfe is continuing to be evaluated by doctors to determine the cause of his symptoms."
Wolfe has started each of the Broncos' first 11 games this season, registering four sacks and 16 tackles.
The Broncos and Chiefs are tied atop the division at 9-2.
