Ashburn, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Washington Redskins have placed wide receiver Leonard Hankerson on injured reserve because of a torn knee ligament.
Hankerson was hurt during last Sunday's game against Philadelphia and tests revealed a torn lateral collateral ligament in his left knee. He is expected to undergo surgery.
The 24-year-old Miami-Florida product had 30 catches for 375 yards with three touchdowns in 10 games this season. He was selected by the Redskins in the third round of the 2011 draft.
Lance Lewis was elevated from the practice squad to fill the vacant roster spot. The Redskins also signed wide receiver Josh Bellamy to the practice squad.
