NBA Game Summary - Boston at New York

(Tuesday, January 28th)

Final Score: New York 114, Boston 88

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Carmelo Anthony's best three-game stretch of the season has resulted in a trio of New York Knicks wins.

Anthony had 24 points, nine rebounds, four assists and four steals in three quarters of work as the Knicks routed the Boston Celtics, 114-88, on Tuesday night.

Anthony, who was 8-of-15 from the field, followed Friday's franchise-record 62-point performance against the Charlotte Bobcats with a 35-point effort Sunday versus the Los Angeles Lakers.

Anthony is shooting 55.6 percent (56-of-81) during his hot streak.

"We're figuring it out. It's not going to happen for us overnight. Defensively, we're stepping up to the challenge," Anthony said.

Tyson Chandler added 12 points and 13 boards for New York, which is 3-3 on its eight-game homestand.

Jeff Green registered 14 points and seven rebounds for the sputtering Celtics, who have dropped 15 of their last 17 games.

"We need to embrace this opportunity to get better and be the best that we can be," Celtics head coach Brad Stevens said.

After Gerald Wallace split a pair of free throws to bring Boston within 6-5 early on, Anthony knocked down a pair of triples and netted eight points during a 15-0 run, which was capped on a J.R. Smith 3-pointer for a 21-5 New York advantage.

The Knicks led by double figures the rest of the way. They took a 31-15 spread into the second and led 63-37 at the break -- New York trailed 58-31 at the half before falling to Boston on Dec. 8.

New York shot 61.5 percent (24-of-39) in the opening half, while holding Boston to 31.8 percent (14-of-44) from the field. Anthony tallied 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting to go with seven rebounds, four assists and three steals in the first half.

New York led by as many as 35 in the third before settling for an 86-59 cushion heading into the fourth, where the hosts cruised to the easy triumph.
