New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith has a small fracture in his left cheekbone, but will wear a mask and play through the injury.
The injury occurred when Smith's face collided with Thunder forward Kevin Durant's knee during the fourth quarter of New York's 112-100 loss to Oklahoma City on Sunday.
He was fitted for a protective face-mask on Tuesday and is expected to play in New York's game against Sacramento on Wednesday.
Smith, the NBA's reigning Sixth Man of the Year, is averaging 13.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in 44 games this season.
