New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Philadelphia 76ers guard Michael Carter- Williams and Utah Jazz guard Trey Burke were named Eastern and Western Conference rookies of the month, respectively, for January.
Carter-Williams averaged 16.5 points per game over the month to lead all rookies, while finishing second in rebounds (5.6 rpg) and assists (5.6 apg).
The 22-year-old Syracuse product, who also took home the honor in November, posted 19 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists in a 110-106 win over the New York Knicks on Jan. 22.
Burke claimed his second straight rookie of the month honor after leading all rookies in assists with 6.8 per contest, while scoring in double figures seven times and handing out five or more assists in nine of his 12 January games.
Burke, the ninth overall selection out of Michigan, recorded consecutive point-assist double-doubles on Jan. 15 and Jan. 17.
