Final Score: Toronto 8, Detroit 6

Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - J.P. Arencibia's go-ahead, bases-clearing double highlighted a four-run seventh inning in the Toronto Blue Jays' 8-6 win over the Detroit Tigers in the middle test of a three-game set.

Aaron Loup (1-0) spun a scoreless sixth to notch the win.

Miguel Cabrera racked up two hits and a run scored for the Tigers, who had won three of their previous four tilts entering play Wednesday.

The Blue Jays trailed by five runs before pushing across three in the sixth and four in the seventh.

Melky Cabrera and Jose Bautista led off the inning with singles before Cabrera scored on Encarnacion's double. Mark DeRosa then lined a double down the left- field line to bring home Bautista and Encarnacion to cut the deficit to 6-4.

Cabrera recorded a one-out single in the seventh before Brayan Villareal (0-1) entered and walked three straight batters. Octavio Dotel then took the mound to face Arencibia, who belted a double into the gap in left-center to put Toronto in front.

Casey Janssen struck out two in a 1-2-3 ninth to pick up his second save of the year.

Earlier, the Tigers plated a run in the first and second to jump ahead. Prince Fielder registered an RBI groundout to shortstop in the first, while Omar Infante's two-out, run-scoring single in the second made it 2-0.

Toronto got a run back in the fifth when Emilio Bonifacio blooped an RBI double into shallow left field, but the Tigers pushed four more across in the home half of the frame.

Torii Hunter scorched a one-out RBI single and a bit later with the bases loaded, Steve Delabar walked Victor Martinez and Andy Dirks to bring home a pair of runs. Jhonny Peralta then smacked an RBI single to right-center to make it 6-1.
