Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - The Arizona Diamondbacks announced on Monday that the club sold pitcher Brad Bergesen to Japan.
The right-hander will suit up for the Chunichi Dragons of the Central League next season.
Bergesen, 27, went 2-1 with a 3.64 earned run average in 29 2/3 innings over 19 appearances for Arizona last year after being claimed off waivers from the Orioles in late July. He was 4-3 with a 4.03 ERA in 22 games (10 starts) for Baltimore's Triple-A club before being cut loose.
A native of northern California, Bergesen has gone 19-25 with a 4.61 ERA in 102 games (59 starts) since 2009.
