Adam McQuaid, D2/8/2014 9:49:00 AM
Description: Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid is not expected to return from a leg injury until after the Olympic break.
Insight: McQuaid's injury hasn't changed any fantasy lineups as his value is limited by his lack of offensive skills (six points in 30 games). His only value would be in his accumulation of penalty minutes (69).
Zdeno Chara, D2/8/2014 9:46:00 AM
Description: Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara will miss Saturday's game against Ottawa.
Insight: Chara was Slovakia's flag-bearer for the opening ceremonies and had planned to miss the last two games before the break.

Description: Boston left wing Milan Lucic has generated nine points (four goals) in his last nine games.
Insight: With 16 goals, 23 assists, 62 PIM, 98 SOG and a +18, Lucic provides some of everything for fantasy owners.
Jarome Iginla, RW2/4/2014 9:47:00 PM
Description: Jarome Iginla's assist to Milan Lucic in the first period Tuesday against the Canucks was the 600th of his career.

Insight: Chara will be Slovakia's flag-bearer for the opening ceremonies, so he'll miss the last two games before the break.
Chad Johnson, G2/2/2014 9:18:00 AM
Description: Chad Johnson (no, not the football player) earned his first shutout of the season Saturday in a win against the Oilers.
Insight: The Bruins netminder collected 22 saves in the victory. Tuukka Rask fantasy owners have to be sweating a bit now that Johnson has played three of the last four games for Boston. It will be interesting to see who gets the start Tuesday against Vancouver.
Zdeno Chara, D2/1/2014 4:00:00 PM
Description: Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara will miss a couple games to be his country's flag bearer at the Olympics. SOURCE: Boston Globe

Brad Marchand, LWHot1/27/2014 10:19:00 PM
Description: Brad Marchand paced the Bruins with a goal and three assists Monday against the Islanders.
Insight: He's up to ten points in his last five games (six goals, four assists). It's no coincidence that Boston has gone 4-0-1 during that stretch. Marchand (17 goals, 16 assists) is quickly approaching must-start fantasy status.

Description: Edmonton defenseman Andrew Ference will not play on Sunday after suffering a head injury Friday night, according to an Edmonton Journal report.

Insight: Smith's 37 points rank second on the Bruins behind David Krejci's 42.
Zdeno Chara, D1/25/2014 5:07:00 PM
Description: Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara's two goals Saturday were his first two since Dec. 17.
Insight: Chara is now tied with Dustin Byfuglien and teammate Torey Krug for third among defensemen with 11 goals. However, he only has 10 assists and 109 SOG in 49 games. Anyone who paid for the 45-point, 200-shot blueliner Chara was from 2004 to 2012 has been disappointed.
Dougie Hamilton, D1/24/2014 2:56:00 PM
Description: Boston defenseman Dougie Hamilton was dealing with a concussion and has missed the last four games, but will return to the lineup on Friday.
Insight: The 20-year-old former No. 9 overall pick has flashed some potential the last two seasons but his 10 points in 33 games isn't quite enough to be fantasy-worthy, however he has potential.

Adam McQuaid, D1/20/2014 11:15:00 AM
Description: Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid is doubtful for Monday's game against Los Angeles with an undisclosed injury.
Insight: McQuaid's injury won't change any fantasy lineups as his value is limited by his lack of offensive skills (six points in 30 games). His only value would be in his accumulation of penalty minutes (69).
Dougie Hamilton, D1/20/2014 9:46:00 AM
Description: Boston defenseman Dougie Hamilton is dealing with a concussion and has missed the last three games.
Insight: The 20-year-old former No. 9 overall pick has flashed some potential the last two seasons but his 10 points in 33 games isn't quite enough to be fantasy-worthy, however he has potential.

Description: Boston defenseman Dougie Hamilton didn't practice Monday due to an undisclosed injury making him questionable for Tuesday's game with the Maple Leafs.
Insight: He suffered the injury Saturday in a game against San Jose. Through 33 games, the 20-year-old Canadian has produced four goals and six assists.
Johnny Boychuk, D1/14/2014 1:36:00 PM
Description: Boston defenseman Johnny Boychuk is probable for Tuesday's game against Toronto after missing saturday's game to witness the birth of his twin girls.
Insight: Boychuk has put up two goals and 11 assists this season, which isn't great, but his +15 rating and 76 SOG help make him a viable fantasy blueliner.
Loui Eriksson, LW1/11/2014 3:26:00 PM
Description: According to Jack Edwards of NESN, Bruins coach Claude Julien said that Loui Eriksson (concussion) will return to the lineup Saturday.
Insight: Eriksson suffered his second concussion in 45 days on Dec. 7 and hasn't played since. The four-time 60-point scorer has just five goals and 14 points in 24 games with the Bruins this season.

Torey Krug, D1/4/2014 9:45:00 PM
Description: Bruins defenseman Torey Krug notched two goals in Saturday's win over Winnipeg.
Insight: It's only the second multi-goal effort of Krug's career. He's tied with Erik Karlsson and Shea Weber for the league-lead in goals by a defenseman (ten each). Teammate Zdeno Chara is fourth with nine goals in 41 contests.

Insight: The 24-year-old Svedberg had a tremendous 2012-13 season with Providence, putting up a 2.17 GAA and a .925 SV%, but he slipped to 2.87 and .909 in 22 games this season. As long as Tuukka Rask is healthy and Chad Johnson is still on the roster, Svedberg won't play enough to be a fantasy option.
Carl Soderberg, C1/2/2014 11:53:00 AM
Description: Boston center Carl Soderberg is questionable for Thursday's game against Nashville while dealing with a concussion.
Insight: Soderberg played just six games last season, but has already totaled 19 pionts in 32 games this season. He's been playing primarily on the third line with Matt Fraser and Ryan Spooner.
Shawn Thornton, LW12/31/2013 2:59:00 PM
Description: Bruins left wing Shawn Thornton won't appeal his 15-game suspension. He'll be out until January 11th. SOURCE: Amalie Benjamin, Boston Globe
Insight: Thornton was banned for hitting Brooks Orpik after the whistle in a game earlier this month. Thornton's first appeal was denied and he had been considering a second appeal with a neutral arbitrator but at this point it's probably easier for him to just accept his suspension and move on. He hasn't been a productive fantasy player this season, tallying just three goals in 27 contests.
Zdeno Chara, D12/30/2013 7:09:00 PM
Description: Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara was back at practice on Monday but remains questionable for Tuesday's game versus Ottawa. SOURCE: Boston Globe

Description: Bruins right wing Jarome Iginla has seven goals and 11 points over his last 11 games.

Description: Bruins defenseman Dennis Seidenberg has a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee and will miss the rest of the season, according to bruins.nhl.com.
Insight: Seidenberg will require 6-8 months of recovery, Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli said. The defenseman suffered the injury Friday against Ottawa and is a much bigger loss to Boston than fantasy owners.
Reilly Smith, RWHot12/27/2013 10:08:00 PM
Description: Bruins right wing Reilly Smith stayed hot with two more goals in a win over Ottawa Friday at TD Garden.
Insight: That gives Smith seven points over his last three games. For the season, he's at 30 points in 38 games played. Fantasy owners can start him with confidence going forward.
Tuukka Rask, GHot12/27/2013 10:02:00 PM
Description: Boston goalie Tuukka Rask turned aside 33 shots in Friday's 5-0 win over Ottawa.
Insight: The shutout was Rask's fourth of the season. It was also Rask's fourth win in a row. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more consistent netminder in hockey than the one between Boston's pipes right now. Rask is a must-start.
