Description: Kevin Burkhardt of SNY reports that the Mets are looking at free agent outfielder Grady Sizemore.
Insight: Sizemore could have had a great career if he had just stayed healthy. Unfortunately he didn't and at age 30, it'd be silly for the Mets to offer the underachieving Sizemore anything more than a minor league contract. Sizemore missed the entire 2012 campaign while recovering from knee surgery.

4/18/2012 9:18:00 PM
Description: Grady Sizemore (back) has been cleared to initiate baseball activity next week.
Insight: Perhaps there a those who drafted Sizemore in the first round in 2009 who are still looking for a return on that investment, but other than those people nobody should be looking at Sizemore for OF help in 2012.

3/2/2012 10:00:00 AM
Description: Grady Sizemore underwent microfracture surgery and is expected to miss two-to-three months.
Insight: Sizemore played just 71 games last season and this latest blow means it will likely be another "lost" season for the three-time All-Star. After his 2008 season of 33 HR and 38 SB, Sizemore was a first-round fantasy selection, but in 2012 you should look in another direction entirely.

6/8/2011 8:00:00 PM
Description: Grady Sizemore hit his seventh homer of the year in Wednesday's loss to the Twins.
Insight: Grady is having a nice year thus far, but his track record tells us that an injury is coming.

Description: Grady Sizemore could be activity's from the disabled list tomorrow against the Rays. SOURCE: Indians.mlb.com
Insight: Sizemore will return this weekend at the latest. He has hit six homers in just 18 games and is a valuable player to the Indians, so monitor his progress and start him accordingly.

5/26/2011 7:57:00 AM
Description: The Indians are expected to activate OF Grady Sizemore from the DL for Friday's game. SOURCE: Yahoo Sports
Insight: If you play in weekly leagues watch Sizemore in action this weekend to make sure he is healthy enough to activate for next week's scoring period.

5/25/2011 8:15:00 AM
Description: Indians outfielder Grady Sizemore ran harder than he has since injuring his right knee while sliding and is close to returning to Cleveland's lineup. Sizemore went on the disabled list last week with a bruised kneecap. He ran sprints in the outfield at close to full speed on Tuesday before the Indians hosted Boston. Trainer Lonnie Soloff supervised Sizemore as he went through drills. SOURCE: Yahoo Sports
Insight: Because of his injury risk you really can not count on Sizemore as anything more than a #3/4 outfielder in mixed leagues. If he produces more than that then you get great value from him.

5/22/2011 5:52:00 AM
Description: Indians OF Grady Sizemore should be back for the Indians fairly quickly. 'Grady is swinging the bat very well in batting practice,' Acta said. 'He's doing most of the activities that the last week or so were bothering him a little bit'"bending over and moving side-to-side and that. So we're anticipating him to be ready really soon.' SOURCE: Yahoo Sports
Insight: Sizemore had cooled after a torrid start. Count on him for a .260 average with 15 home runs and anything above that is a bonus.

5/16/2011 1:05:00 PM
Description: Indians OF Grady Sizemore was placed on the 15-day disabled list Monday with a bruised right knee, an injury he sustained on a hard slide into second base last week. SOURCE: ESPN.com
Insight: The important news is that this is not the same knee he had surgery on previously. If his owner reacts negatively to this news you could have a solid buy-low opportunity.

5/13/2011 1:13:00 PM
Description: Even though an MRI revealed no structural damage, the Indians will play it safe with OF Grady Sizemore. "We wanted to stay off it for at least two days," he said. "I'll come in [today] and see how it feels." SOURCE: The Plain Dealer
Insight: If you drafted Sizemore you had to have been prepared for something like this and you should expect Grady to get frequent breaks throughout the season. He is definitely a riskier play in leagues with weekly transactions because you never know when he could miss 3-4 games in a row.

5/11/2011 9:50:00 AM
Description: Grady Sizemore hit his 6th home run of the 2011 season and is averaging a long ball every 13 at bats and is slugging .641 on the season.
Insight: Sizemore is 0 for 1 on the base paths this season and days of 30+ stolen bases are behind him but if he can keep the average above 270 with this type of power he'll score plenty of runs atop the Indians lineup and not compromise your team's BA.

5/9/2011 10:59:00 AM
Description: Grady Sizemore went 3 for 5 and hit his 5th home run in 2011 and keep in mind he got off to a late start.
Insight: Sizemore is now slugging .630 and we all know what kind of speed he posseses. Is this the year he finally plays up to his athletic potential?

5/9/2011 4:32:00 AM
Description: Indians OF Grady Sizemore went 3-5, scoring twice, in yesterday's loss to the Angels. Sizemore hit his 5th homer on the year.
Insight: After a scorching start, Sizemore had a 5-game slump that appears to have ended with yesterday's performance. Keep him active in all formats.

4/28/2011 8:25:00 PM
Description: Indians OF Grady Sizemore went 2-4, with a homer, 2 runs, and 2 RBI's in tonight's win over the Royals.
Insight: Sizemore has been sizzling since his return and should be active in all formats. There have been no reports of knee issues, which is a good sign for the Indians and for Sizemore's fantasy owners.

4/27/2011 5:46:00 AM
Description: Indians OF Grady Sizemore went 3-4 with a homer, 2 runs, and 2 RBI's in Cleveland's win over the Royals.
Insight: Sizemore has 3 homers and is batting .406 since his return to action. He was caught stealing yesterday, which was his first stolen base attempt of the year. Because of the knee injury don't count on Sizemore for more than 10 steals.

4/17/2011 4:34:00 PM
Description: Grady Sizemore doubled and homered in his 2011 debut on Sunday.
Insight: He's only two years removed from being a first round draft pick, so the talent is there if he can just stay on the field.

4/17/2011 10:29:00 AM
Description: The Indians have activated OF Grady Sizemore and he is leading off the Tribe's batting order. SOURCE: Yahoo Sports
Insight: Expect Sizemore to struggle initially, as he works to regain his timing, so don't feel as if you have to rush him back into your lineup.

4/16/2011 12:32:00 PM
Description: Outfielder Grady Sizemore is closer than ever to rejoining the Cleveland Indians and could be activated from the disabled list in the next two days. SOURCE: Yahoo Sports
Insight: Sizemore will not play every day so he is best-served in leagues with daily roster moves. Until he proves he is all the way back, though, it might be worth leaving him on your bench.

4/10/2011 9:04:00 PM
Description: Indians OF Grady Sizemore played nine innings Saturday for Class AA Akron for the first time during his rehab from microfracture surgery on his left knee. He'll have today off and is expected to try to play consecutive complete games starting Monday. SOURCE: The Plain Dealer
Insight: Barring setbacks, Sizemore should be back in Cleveland by the end of April.

4/6/2011 11:02:00 AM
Description: After playing in a minor league game, Indians OF Grady Sizemore indicates he wants to back by the end of the month. "Right now we're shooting for mid-April to late April," Sizemore said, "but it depends on how the knee responds with the extra load of more games. There's definitely going to be some discomfort to work through. It's just a different feeling overall." SOURCE: The Plain Dealer
Insight: So far, Sizemore has not had any setbacks so he could see some action later this month. Even if he does return you need to be aware that his stats have regressed in each of the last few years; don't count on him as anything more than a #4 outfielder.
