Description: Dodgers second baseman Dee Gordon is just 1-for-13 (.077) against Giants right-hander Tim Lincecum.
Insight: Gordon beat out Alex Guerrero for the second base job this spring and has continues to play well, batting .400 through the first 11 games with a league-leading nine steals. Proceed with caution on Tuesday based on the unfavorable matchup with Lincecum.

Description: Dodgers second baseman Dee Gordon went 3-for-4 with a double, one RBI and two runs scored Saturday against Arizona.
Insight: Gordon sat out Los Angeles' season opener while Justin Turner got the start, but he led off Saturday. If he hits at all, Gordon will get most of the starts at second base until Cuban defector Alexander Guerrero is ready. Gordon carries shortstop eligibility and could be a source of cheap steals at either middle-infield position.

Description: Ken Gurnick of dodgers.com adds another report that Dee Gordon is the favorite to win the Dodgers' second base job over Alexander Guerrero.
Insight: Gordon is only batting .208 this spring, but is 8-for-8 in stolen base attempts. He's also made just one error in 34 changes. Guerrero is batting .250, but might start the season in the minors.

3/2/2014 5:08:00 PM
Description: ESPN's Jim Bowden reports that Dee Gordon is the favorite to win the Dodgers' second base job.
Insight: Gordon hasn't had too much of a chance to take advantage of his top-flight speed in his major league career, as he has hit .256 with a .301 on-base percentage. He's not the long-term answer at second for the Dodgers. Los Angeles signed Cuban defector Alexander Guerrero to a four-year, $28 million contract last October, but the former shortstop has had trouble with his new position and will start the year at Triple-A.

Cold5/22/2013 1:02:00 PM
Description: Dodgers shortstop Dee Gordon is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against Milwaukee
Insight: Gordon is batting just .167 in 16 games this season with an ugly .533 OPS. If not for five steals, he'd be a drain in all categories for fantasy owners.

Hot5/8/2013 9:42:00 AM
Description: The Dodgers have recalled shortstop Dee Gordon to replace the injured Hanley Ramirez, who was placed on the DL Saturday with a left hamstring strain and he's off to a solid start.
Insight: Gordon was batting .314 with 14 steals at Triple-A Albuquerque this season and is batting .300 with three stolen bases in his first three games with the Dodgers. He has way more speed than Ramirez, but none of the power.

Description: The Dodgers have recalled shortstop Dee Gordon to replace the injured Hanley Ramirez, who was placed on the DL Saturday with a left hamstring strain.
Insight: Ramirez suffered the injury Friday in just his third start back from thumb surgery. Manager Don Mattingly compared the injury to the one that knocked out Matt Kemp for 51 games last season. Gordon is batting .314 with a 17/14 K/BB and 14 steals at Triple-A Albuquerque this season and will start and bat eighth Saturday, according to Bill Shaikin of the LA Times.

Description: With Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez likely headed to the DL with a serious left hamstring injury, the team is considering calling up Dee Gordon. SOURCE: MLB.com
Insight: Ramirez suffered the injury Friday in just his third start back from thumb surgery. Manager Don Mattingly compared the injury to the one that knocked out Matt Kemp for 51 games last season. Gordon is batting .314 with a 17/14 K/BB and 14 steals at Triple-A Albuquerque this season.

4/16/2013 9:23:00 PM
Description: Dodgers manager Don Mattingly says the team has no plans to call up Dee Gordon from Triple-A, according to Bill Shaikin of the LA Times.
Insight: Mattingly says the Dodgers are satisfied with Justin Sellers at shortstop. With Hanley Ramirez declaring Tuesday that he'll return "way sooner" than mid-May, fantasy owners can cut ties with Gordon.

3/26/2013 6:28:00 PM
Description: The Dodgers have optioned shortstop Dee Gordon to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Insight: Gordon has blazing speed but he hit just .228 with a .561 OPS last season. Dodgers manager Don Mattingly chose Luis Cruz over Gordon to start at shortstop following Hanley Ramirez' thumb injury.

Description: Boston shortstop Jose Iglesias and L.A. shortstop Dee Gordon have both been mentioned as potential trade targets for the Pirates, according to John Perrotto from USA Today.
Insight: Pittsburgh is looking to unload closer Joel Hanrahan and it appears that they'll be looking for a shortstop in exchange. Clint Barmes saw the most action at shortstop for Pittsburgh in 2012, contributing eight homers and a .229 average in 144 games.

12/5/2012 8:12:00 PM
Description: Jon Morosi from Fox Sports says the Indians have been in touch with the Dodgers about shortstop Dee Gordon.
Insight: It seems likely Los Angeles will deal Gordon this offseason now that Hanley Ramirez has established himself as the team's starting shortstop. The Mariners are also said to be interested in acquiring Gordon. Aside from his elite speed, Gordon is a below average fantasy contributor.

7/5/2012 8:43:00 PM
Description: Dodgers shortstop Dee Gordon has been placed on the DL with a torn ligament in his thumb. Gordon will undergo thumb surgery and is expected to miss at least six weeks.
Insight: Fantasy owners won't miss Gordon's .229 batting average but they will miss his league-leading 30 stolen bases.

7/5/2012 10:01:00 AM
Description: Dodgers shortstop Dee Gordon has a dislocated right thumb, according to Ken Gurnick of MLB.com.
Insight: Gordon will have an MRI Thursday and will likely sit out until after the All-Star break.

7/2/2012 9:18:00 PM
Description: Dodgers shortstop Dee Gordon is out Monday with a left leg cramp.
Insight: Gordon continues to be the National League's stolen base king (28 thefts this season). Unfortunately, he's also the king of fielding errors (17 errors). His .228 batting average hasn't given fantasy owners much to cheer about either.

Cold7/2/2012 4:30:00 PM
Description: Los Angeles shortstop Dee Gordon is questionable for Monday's game against Cincinnati with a leg injury.
Insight: Gordon is batting just .228 this season, and .192 over the past two weeks which does make it tough for him to contribute stolen bases. You can't steal first.

Cold6/27/2012 11:06:00 AM
Description: Los Angeles shortstop Dee Gordon has a lone single in 10 at-bats against San Francisco starter Tim Lincecum.
Insight: Gordon is batting just .222 over the past two weeks which does make it tough for him to contribute stolen bases. You can't steal first.

Cold6/21/2012 8:23:00 PM
Description: Los Angeles shortstop Dee Gordon went 0-for-4 Thursday and 0-for-12 with no walks and a caught stealing as the Dodgers were swept at Oakland.
Insight: Gordon has 21 steals in 28 attempts this year, but his .224 average and sub-.600 OPS are just too harmful to own.

6/4/2012 10:49:00 PM
Description: Los Angeles shortstop Dee Gordon made up for getting thrown out at second base earlier in the night by poking a triple to center field to lead off the ninth inning. Gordon scored what proved to be the game-winning run one batter later on Elian Herrera's single to left field.
Insight: Gordon may be batting only .229 but his speed (14-20 in stolen base attempts) will always make him a weapon. Keep an eye out for Gordon if you need help in the steals department.
