Andrei Kirilenko is owned in only 81% of all leagues.
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) -
Since we are already in March and the fantasy NBA season is fast approaching the home stretch, it would probably surprise you as much as it did me that a player who is in the top-10 of production over the last 30 days is currently a free agent. Strange but true.
His name is Andrei Kirilenko of the Utah Jazz and he's not one of the names you would expect to find at the top of the list. Yet there he is, among all the stars like LeBron James (No.1), Kevin Durant (No.2), Chris Bosh (No.3), Danny Granger (No.4) and Dirk Nowitzki (No.5).
Kirilenko is in sixth place ahead of the likes of Jason Kidd, Chauncey Billups, David Lee and Josh Smith.
The Jazz forward has been a "stats filler" this month, scoring 14.3 ppg, along with 4.5 rpg, 3.3 apg, 2.4 spg and 1.5 bpg while shooting over 55% from the floor and 86% from the line.
And the really good news is that he might be available in your league. While the remainder of the top-10 is owned in 99% of all leagues, Kirilenko is owned in 81%, meaning there is almost a 1-in-5 chance that you can pick him up off the waiver wire list.
Kirilenko has missed a few games lately with back spasms, but returned on Monday night to score 13 points and pull down seven rebounds in 29 minutes. If you're looking for someone to fill up the boxscore, Andrei is your guy.
"It's feeling better," Kirilenko said of his back. "It's still, like, a little something - but at least I feel that motion-wise it's not bothering me."
With games against Phoenix and the Los Angeles Clippers upcoming, he should be able to continue his surge in performance.
