Millsap value through the roof

Paul Millsap has posted 15.3 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 2.0 apg and 1.2 bpg so far this season.
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Utah Jazz forward Paul Millsap is the ultimate definition of a "fantasy bargain." Millsap, who wasn't even a starter in 2007-08 when he averaged 8.1 ppg and 5.6 rpg, is performing to a level that was unexpected, no wait...not even a remote possibility at the beginning of the season.

But here we are about 34 games into the 2008-09 season and Millsap is putting up numbers equal to a top-12 preseason selection.

Don't believe me?

Kevin Garnett's ADP (average draft position) this season was an 8.2 - a first round selection. The Boston Celtics forward is averaging 16.0 ppg, 9.1 rpg, 2.6 apg and 1.3 bpg. Fellow first-round pick (in a 12-man league), Elton Brand of the Philadelphia 76ers had an ADP of 11.6 and his statistics are 15.9 ppg, 9.8 rpg, 1.5 apg and 1.4 bpg.

Meanwhile, Millsap, who had an ADP over 100, if he was even picked at all, has posted 15.3 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 2.0 apg and 1.2 bpg. The 6'8" forward just completed the longest double-double streak for a Jazz player in 18 years (19 games).

And the numbers figure to continue at this level with Carlos Boozer sidelined for at least another month after arthroscopic knee surgery. It means that Millsap will continue to start at forward through the NBA All-Star game in mid- February.

So if you are looking for a front-court player, instead of paying a big price for a "name" player, make an offer for Millsap who is owned in 87% of the leagues. To the 13% of leagues where he is still a free agent, what are you waiting for?
