The UTR Twins

Jason Kubel has hit between .291 and .333 each month.
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - While Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau get the majority of the press and publicity, and rightly so based on what they have done, there are two Minnesota Twins putting up pretty good numbers yet still flying "Under The Radar."

Both Twins outfielders Michael Cuddyer and Jason Kubel are having very good seasons, yet getting very little respect from fantasy owners. Cuddyer is owned in under 50% of all leagues and Kubel just over 50%.

Yet their numbers are comparable to others around the league who are more well known and have much higher percentages of ownership.

If you compare Cuddyer's numbers to that of Johnny Damon you will see how similarly they are performing, yet Damon is owned in 90% of all leagues. Carlos Lee and Kubel are putting up comparable statistics, yet Lee is owned in 98% of all leagues.

Kubel has been the more consistent of the two "UTR Twins" this season. He has hit between .291 and .333 each month. Cuddyer is the more streaky of the two, hitting .224 in April and .312 in May.

With Mauer and Morneau getting walked an average of 13 times each per month, both "UTR Twins" will continue to get opportunities to drive in runs. Historically, Cuddyer is the better second-half hitter raising his average after the All-Star break by 16 points, his slugging percentage by 35 points and his OPS by 38 points.

If you are looking for an outfield replacement, perhaps you should consider one of the "UTR Twins" in Minnesota.
