2/26/2013 4:50:00 PM
Description: The Kings have traded forward Simon Gagne to the Flyers for a conditional fourth-round draft pick. SOURCE: NHL.com
Insight: Gagne was a first-round pick by Philadelphia in 1998 and played 10 seasons there. The winger was often a healthy scratch for Los Angeles this season so he'll have more fantasy value on the Flyers. However, fantasy owners don't need to run out and grab him immediately.

6/4/2012 7:50:00 PM
Description: Simon Gagne is expected to play for the Kings Monday night in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Gagne hasn't played since suffering a concussion on December 26th.
Insight: Who knows how rusty Gagne will be but if he plays anywhere close to the level he was at earlier in the year (17 points in 34 games), he could give Los Angeles a nice offensive boost as they aim to take a 3-0 series lead over New Jersey.

12/27/2011 2:29:00 PM
Description: Simon Gagne will be sidelined indefinitely with a concussion after leaving Monday's game in the third period. TSN
Insight: Gagne has 17 points (7g-10a) in 34 games this season. His fantasy owners should probably look for another option unless he can be kept on IR.

7/3/2011 1:09:00 AM
Description: The Los Angeles Kings have signed Simon Gagne to a two-year contract worth $7 million. TSN
Insight: The Kings immediately set their sights on Gagne once Brad Richards decided to sign with the Rangers. Even though the Kings have an effective 1-2 punch at center with Anze Kopitar and Mike Richards, they were in need of a proven winger. Gagne has battled injuries the past few seasons and declining production as a result, so it will be interesting to see if this signing pans out.

5/21/2011 4:35:00 PM
Description: Simon Gagne scored a goal and added two assists with a +4 in the Lightning's 5-3 win over Boston in Game 4 on Saturday afternoon. Yahoo Sports
Insight: After struggling during most of his first season with the Bolts, Gagne has enjoyed some success during the playoffs with 11 points (4g-7a) in 12 games. However, he had been held to just one point in his previous five games.

5/14/2011 12:33:00 PM
Description: Simon Gagne is expected to be back in the Lightning's lineup for Game 1 against Boston on Saturday. Boston Bruins
Insight: The Bolts are expected to go with 11 forwards and 7 defensemen for this game. Gagne has performed well in the playoffs the past couple seasons, so feel free to add him in your playoff pool.

5/11/2011 8:30:00 PM
Description: Lightning GM Steve Yzerman said that Simon Gagne may return to the lineup for Game 1 against Boston on Saturday. TSN
Insight: Gagne has been sidelined since Game 1 of the Lightning's second-round series against Washington with an undisclosed injury. One report from Tampa said that Gagne has been cleared to play, so there is a strong possibility that he will return on Saturday.

5/1/2011 5:27:00 PM
Description: Simon Gagne and Pavel Kubina will both miss Game 2 against Washington on Sunday. TSN
Insight: Both players were injured during Game 1 against Washington. Randy Jones and Blair Jones are expected to be in the Bolts' lineup for Game 2 as replacements.

4/29/2011 10:27:00 PM
Description: Simon Gagne left Game 1 against Washington on Friday with a head injury. TSN
Insight: Gagne's head slammed onto the ice following a hit from Washington defenseman Scott Hannan. Gagne has suffered multiple concussions in his career, so this injury is especially concerning. At this stage, he seems doubtful to play in Game 2 on Sunday.

4/23/2011 3:52:00 PM
Description: Simon Gagne scored two goals in the Lightning's 8-2 rout over Pittsburgh in Game 5 on Saturday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: The goals were Gagne's first two of the series. However, he has contributed for the Bolts with four assists from the first four games. He scored 9 goals in 19 playoff games last season, so he is one player whose production seems to improve in the postseason.

4/15/2011 11:32:00 PM
Description: Simon Gagne recorded three assists in the Lightning's 5-1 win over Pittsburgh in Game 2 on Friday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: Gagne is another example of a player who could post a fine playoff statline after a rough regular season (40 points and a -12 in 63 games). Keep in mind that he was on a seven-game scoring streak during last year's playoff run with the Flyers, so he might be a decent sleeper pickup in playoff pools.

3/26/2011 11:41:00 PM
Description: Simon Gagne scored two goals in the Lightning's 4-2 win over Carolina on Saturday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: That's now two games in a row in which Gagne has scored two goals. Over his last six games, Gagne now has six goals and ten points. He has not had his best season (32 points and a -19 in 56 games), but he is proving once again that he has fantasy value.

3/25/2011 11:50:00 PM
Description: Simon Gagne scored two power-play goals in the Lightning's 4-3 loss to Carolina on Friday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: After a mainly sluggish season, Gagne has turned it up a notch recently with eight points (4g-4a) in his last five games. There might be something there for fantasy teams this season after all.

3/22/2011 11:22:00 AM
Description: Simon Gagne is expected to return to the Lightning's lineup for Tuesday's game against the Islanders. Tampa Bay Lightning
Insight: Gagne missed Saturday's game against Ottawa with a sore neck. You could plug him back in for Tuesday, but there are probably better performing options out there.

3/18/2011 4:21:00 PM
Description: Simon Gagne will not be in the Lightning's lineup on Saturday against Ottawa because of a neck injury. Sportsnet
Insight: Gagne owners may wish to look for another option altogether, as he has just 28 points (12g-16a) and a (-18) in 53 games.

3/13/2011 1:43:00 AM
Description: Simon Gagne scored a power-play goal and added two assists in the Lightning's 4-3 overtime loss to Florida on Saturday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: Gagne has not had a good first season in Tampa, scoring 25 points (11g-14a) with a (-18) in 51 games. He had just one assist in his previous seven games before his three-point outburst on Saturday.

1/23/2011 11:00:00 PM
Description: Gagne potted his only two shots on goal Sunday, giving him his second two-goal outing over his past five.
Insight: Gagne still has just eight goals this season in 32 games. (RapidDraft.com)

1/23/2011 9:36:00 PM
Description: Simon Gagne scored two goals with a +2 in the Lightning's 7-1 win over Atlanta on Sunday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: It's fair to say that Gagne has been a bust this season with 12 points (8g-4a) and a (-20) in 32 games. As a result, he shouldn't be on your fantasy team or in your starting lineup until he shows he can benefit from the strong Tampa offense.

12/5/2010 4:05:00 AM
Description: Simon Gagne and Martin St. Louis each scored a goal and added two assists in the Lightning's 6-5 win over Colorado on Saturday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: Since his return from a neck injury, Gagne has looked like a different player. Held scoreless in his first six games before the injury, Gagne has five points (2g-3a) in three games and has clicked playing alongside Steven Stamkos and Martin St. Louis. Get him back in your lineup, since things are finally starting to happen.

11/30/2010 11:52:00 PM
Description: Simon Gagne scored the game-winning goal in overtime and added an assist in 12:55 of icetime in the Lightning's 4-3 win over Toronto on Tuesday. TSN
Insight: Gagne was making his return to the Bolts' lineup after missing the previous 18 games with a neck injury. Surprisingly, the points were his first of the season in his seventh game. He should see better days ahead with the scoring options he can line up with in Tampa.
