Description: Texans tight end Owen Daniels (hamstring) didn't practice Thursday after participating on a limited basis Wednesday. SOURCE: Tania Ganguli, Houston Chronicle
Insight: Houston coach Gary Kubiak downplayed the absence. "Owen's fine. He's got a sore hamstring," he said. According to Nick Scurfield of HoustonTexans.com, Daniels did the walk-through portion of practice but the team held him out of physical portions due to cold weather. The TE should be on the field in Week 17.

11/20/2012 12:15:00 PM
Description: Texans' tight end Owen Daniels is probable for Thursday's game against Detroit after catching six balls for 57 yards in the game versus Jacksonville.
Insight: As recently as last Friday it looked like Daniels would be on the shelf for Week 11, but he managed to play and come out of the game without re-injuring the hip.

11/18/2012 12:20:00 PM
Description: Texans tight end Owen Daniels will start Sunday against Jacksonville.
Insight: As recently as Friday it looked like Daniels would be on the shelf this week but apparently that's no longer the case. He has scored a touchdown in five out of his last six games and it wouldn't be surprising to see him find the end zone again in Week 11. The Jaguars rank 23rd in the NFL in opponent passing yards.

11/18/2012 10:34:00 AM
Description: In a surprise move, it looks like Texans tight end Owen Daniels will start Sunday versus Jacksonville according to Adam Schefter from ESPN. Daniels had been a game-time decision because of a hip injury.

11/16/2012 2:40:00 PM
Description: Houston tight end Owen Daniels (hip) will miss Week 11 against Jacksonville, according to Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union.
Insight: Jacksonville figures to be able to get past the woeful Jaguars without Daniels and this will give him more time to be ready for the Thanksgiving Day game at Detroit. Daniels has five touchdown receptions in his last six games and is probably Matt Schaub's second favorite target behind Andre Johnson.

11/12/2012 1:15:00 PM
Description: Houston tight end Owen Daniels (hip) was inactive for Sunday night's game with Chicago, but close enough to test the injury in pregame warmups.
Insight: Daniels should have a decent chance to play in Sunday's game against Jacksonville.

11/11/2012 7:22:00 PM
Description: Houston tight end Owen Daniels (hip) is inactive for Sunday night's game with Chicago.
Insight: There aren't many good options available playing Sunday night or Monday with out. Garrett Graham will get the start at tight end, but fullback James Casey will play tight end too and might be a better option.

Description: Houston tight end Owen Daniels (hip) is a game-time call Sunday night against the Bears. SOURCE: Adam Schefter, ESPN
Insight: There aren't many good options available playing Sunday night or Monday if Daniels is ruled out. James Casey, Kellen Davis or Tony Moeaki are probably available but none of those guys are attractive fantasy players.

11/9/2012 2:06:00 PM
Description: Houston tight end Owen Daniels returned to limited practice Friday. He's struggling with a sore hip.
Insight: Daniels has been very good this season, catching 37 balls for 478 yards and five touchdowns to put him among the top fantasy tight ends. If Daniels can't go, James Casey would start, but he doesn't have Daniels' deep threat ability.

11/7/2012 4:52:00 PM
Description: Houston tight end Owen Daniels was unable to practice Wednesday because of a sore hip.
Insight: The Texans have a tough game coming up Sunday against Chicago and they'd certainly be better off with Daniels in their lineup. If he can't go, the team's other option at tight end is Garrett Graham (10 catches, 122 yards this season).

9/30/2012 5:11:00 PM
Description: Texans tight end Owen Daniels caught six passes for 72 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Titans. Houston has played it conservative on offense this season, running the ball a ton and throwing the majority of the time to backs and tight ends.
Insight: Daniels, not Andre Johnson, has been Matt Schaub's No. 1 target this season. He has 19 catches, 232 yards and two scores through four games. Fourteen of Schaub's 20 completions went to a back or a tight end on Sunday.

1/11/2012 12:33:00 PM
Description: Texans' tight end Owen Daniels (shoulder) was limited again in practice Thursday after participating on a limited basis Wednesday.
Insight: Daniels is expected to play after taking a hit to the shoulder in the third quarter against Cincinnati. He played through the injury and had nine receptions for 91 yards. Daniels is quarterback Matt Schaub's No. 2 target behind Andre Johnson.

3/3/2011 1:28:00 PM
Description: The Texans and TE Owen Daniels have come to terms on a multi-year contract. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Daniels missed a portion of 2010 while recovering from a torn right ACL, but he closed out the last month of the season on a high note with a total of 22 catches, 271 and two touchdowns. He isn't a TE1 this year, but he could end up being better than most expect if he can stay healthy.

1/4/2011 2:02:00 AM
Description: Daniels caught five passes for 62 yards and a touchdown in the season-ending win over Jacksonville.
Insight: It was Daniels' second straight game with a touchdown, and he finished with 22 catches and 271 yards over his final four games. It was a nice finish for a tight end who spent much of the year battling injuries and will now be in line for a new contract. (RapidDraft.com)

12/11/2010 11:02:00 PM
Description: Daniels is listed as probable and expected to return from a hamstring injury on Monday night. Nick Scurfield of HoustonTexans.com, however, reports that Daniels won't start.
Insight: Daniels has missed the past six games, and Joel Dreessen has filled in solidly. This move makes sense for the sake of Daniels' health and rewarding Dreessen. Expect Daniels to be worked back into the offense more as he shows he can handle more snaps. (RapidDraft.com)

12/11/2010 3:17:00 PM
Description: Texans TE Owen Daniels (hamstring) is healthy and will play Monday night against the Ravens. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Joel Dreessen is also expected to play, which pretty much cancels out the fantasy value of both.

12/9/2010 4:05:00 PM
Description: Daniels was reportedly a full practice participant on Wednesday and Thursday and appears in line to return for the Monday night meeting with the Ravens.
Insight: Perhaps the team held him out of a short Week 13 to maximize this long layoff. Daniels could step back into his starting role immediately, even though Joel Dreessen's rib injury has been termed only a bruise. (RapidDraft.com)

12/3/2010 10:03:00 AM
Description: Coach Gary Kubiak has said that he's optimistic Daniels will be able to return in Week 14 after missing the past five games because of a hamstring injury.
Insight: That would be particularly good news for the Texans, who might be without Joel Dreessen after a rib injury suffered on Thursday night. Daniels will be a risky fantasy play until he proves his hammy can make it through a game, but he should at least have upside similar to Dreessen's. (RapidDraft.com)

12/1/2010 4:15:00 PM
Description: Texans TE Owen Daniels (hamstring) has officially been ruled out for Thursday night's game against the Eagles. SOURCE: YARDBARKER.COM
Insight: Dreessen, who has a touchdown catch in the last two games, will get one more start. Gary Kubiak said he is optimistic that Daniels can return Week Fourteen against the Ravens.

11/30/2010 5:05:00 PM
Description: According to Texans HC Gary Kubiak, TE Owen Daniels (hamstring) will "definitely" play in Week Fourteen even if he doesn't play Thursday night against the Eagles. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: If Daniels did play this week, we don't trust him enough to play him. Joel Dreessen has been good enough that there isn't a need to rush Daniels back for at least another week.
