Description: The Cardinals placed running back Jonathan Dwyer on the reserve/non-football illness list, ending his season.
Insight: Dwyer's wife is accusing Dwyer of head-butting her after she refused his sexual advances according to ESPN.com. Dwyer also allegedly "punched her in the face the next day" and threw a shoe at his 17-month-old son. Ian Rapoport of NFL.com also reports that the Cardinals are investigating Dwyer's mental health after he sent his wife a suicidal text message with a picture of a knife. He will not play again this season and should be immediately dropped.

9/16/2014 3:41:00 PM
Description: Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer vultured a touchdown on Sunday in the team's 25-14 victory over the Giants.
Insight: Dwyer is no more than backup option, but he will continue to see goaline carries for the Cardinals. He did manage nine carries for only 31 yards and the score during Week 2. Consider Dwyer a RB4/5.

Cold9/9/2014 3:40:00 PM
Description: Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer was a disappointment for fantasy owners as starter Andre Ellington started Monday night.
Insight: Dwyer was reduced to a backup role and finished with just 28 combined yards on nine touches. As long as Ellington is starting, that's about all fantasy owners can expect.

9/5/2014 7:54:00 PM
Description: Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer is "likely to start" if Andre Ellington (foot) misses any games according the the Arizona Republic.
Insight: Ellington underwent an MRI on Thursday, and he was scheduled to meet with a foot specialist on Friday. Ellington was not at practice on Friday and multiple reports suggest Ellington might be out 4-6 weeks. Although we remain hopeful that Ellington can still have a great season, owners need to find his replacement for Week 1.

Description: Former Steelers halfback Jonathan Dwyer worked out for New England on Friday. SOURCE: Field Yates, ESPN Boston
Insight: New England's backfield is pretty crowded already so it's a little strange that the Patriots would bring Dwyer in for a workout. He'll sign somewhere eventually but we're pretty sure it won't be with the Pats.

9/1/2013 8:34:00 PM
Description: Jonathan Dwyer has cleared waivers and is now a free agent.
Insight: The Steelers cut him yesterday. With Dwyer out of the picture, Isaac Redman, LaRod Stephens-Howling and Felix Jones will compete for carries in Pittsburgh. Rookie Le'Veon Bell should take over as the lead back when he returns from a sprained foot.

8/31/2013 4:20:00 PM
Description: The Steelers have waived running back Jonathan Dwyer.
Insight: Dwyer showed up overweight to training camp and according to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers grew tired of his "lack of dedication to his job." Felix Jones made the team and will back up Isaac Redman until Le'Veon Bell returns to action.

8/22/2013 12:31:00 PM
Description: According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Steelers running back Jonathan Dwyer started training camp behind Isaac Redman on the depth chart because he reported to camp weighing around 260 pounds.
Insight: Dwyer is down 25 pounds after coach Mike Tomlin chided him for his lack of conditioning and has rushed for 83 yards on 20 carries this preseason. With rookie Le'Veon Bell out at least six weeks, the Steelers will be forced to turn back to Redman and Dwyer, who both underwhelmed last season and aren't recommended fantasy options.

4/27/2013 6:31:00 PM
Description: Pittsburgh's decision to draft Michigan State running back Le'Veon Bell has made Jonathan Dwyer expendable. SOURCE: Daniel Jeremiah, NFL Network
Insight: The draft is winding to a close, so it looks like Dwyer will stay put for now. Don't be surprised if the Steelers trade him before the season starts.

12/11/2012 12:43:00 PM
Description: Steelers running back Jonathan Dwyer only ran the ball eight times for 32 yards Sunday versus San Diego, but coach Mike Tomlin said he would not be making any chancges at running back, meaning Dwyer is still the starter.
Insight: The Steelers fell behind 27-3 and had to abandon the running game. Dwyer is Pittsburgh's clear-cut No. 1 running back at the moment (Isaac Redman had two carries and Rashard Mendenhall was a healthy scratch).

12/9/2012 7:35:00 PM
Description: Steelers running back Jonathan Dwyer only ran the ball eight times for 32 yards Sunday versus San Diego.
Insight: Dwyer is Pittsburgh's clear-cut No. 1 running back at the moment (Isaac Redman had two carries and Rashard Mendenhall was a healthy scratch) but the Steelers fell behind 13-0 and 27-3 and had to move away from the run. Dallas will host the Steelers in Week 15.

12/4/2012 12:54:00 PM
Description: Steelers running back Jonathan Dwyer will continue as the team's starter in Week 14, according to coach Mike Tomlin. He totaled 49 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries against Baltimore.
Insight: The muddled Pittsburgh backfield is getting a bit clearer with Rashard Mendenhall being a healthy scratch in Week 13. Isaac Redman, who received nine rushing attempts last weekend, will backup Dwyer.

11/27/2012 2:03:00 PM
Description: Steelers running back Jonathan Dwyer is expected to be named the starter for Week 13, according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Insight: The muddled Pittsburgh backfield contains three backs each capable of rushing for 100 yards if given the full workload. As long as all three get rushing attempts none will be fantasy worthy.

11/16/2012 1:50:00 PM
Description: Despite rushing for 285 yards over his last three games, Steelers running back Jonathan Dwyer will return to his backup role behind Rashard Mendenhall.
Insight: The muddled Pittsburgh backfield contains three backs each capable of rushing for 100 yards if given the full workload. It remains to be seen how coach Mike Tomlin would divide the work, but Mendenhall is apparently going to get the first opportunity.

11/6/2012 1:48:00 PM
Description: Steelers running backs Jonathan Dwyer (quad) is expected to return to the field for Monday night's game against Kansas City, according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Insight: It remains to be seen how coach Mike Tomlin would divide the workload between Isaac Redman, coming off a 147-yard game, and Dwyer, who rushed for over 100 yards in his last two starts. Stay tuned.

11/4/2012 3:25:00 PM
Description: Steelers running backs Jonathan Dwyer (quad) and Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles) are inactive for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Insight: Isaac Redman was a full participant Thursday and Friday and will get the start. He's averaging just 2.5 yards per carry on 50 rushes this season so it's going to take a desperate owner to start him.

11/3/2012 4:53:00 PM
Description: According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Steelers running backs Jonathan Dwyer (quad) and Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles) are doubtful for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Insight: Isaac Redman was a full participant Thursday and Friday and is likely to start. He's averaging just 2.5 yards per carry on 50 rushes this season so it's going to take a desperate owner to start him.

11/2/2012 1:32:00 PM
Description: According to Steelers' beat writer Mike Bires, running back Jonathan Dwyer missed Friday's practice and his available for Week 9 is a huge question mark.
Insight: Isaac Redman was a full participant Thursday and Friday and could get the start. Dwyer was coming off two 100-yard games and was a must start if healthy, but this looks like a situation to avoid in Week 9.

11/1/2012 3:43:00 PM
Description: According to Mike Bires of the Beaver County Times, Steelers running back Jonathan Dwyer (quad) practiced on a limited basis Thursday and said he'll play Sunday versus the Giants.
Insight: Isaac Redman was a full participant Thursday and Bires speculates that Redman could start. We prefer Dwyer coming off two 100-yard games, but this looks like a situation to avoid in Week 9.

10/30/2012 8:01:00 PM
Description: The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette expects the Steelers to start Jonathan Dwyer at running back again in Week 9 versus the Giants if his quad holds up. Dwyer won't practice Wednesday, however.
Insight: Dwyer has rushed for back-to-back 100-yard game and is averaging 5.2 ypc on 58 runs this season. Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles) will go through individual workouts Wednesday and will likely be questionable for Week 9 and Isaac Redman (ankle) will practice all week. Redman may wind up being Pittsburgh's healthiest running back in Week 9, but he's not as good of a fantasy option as Dwyer or Mendenhall.
