Broncos place Bradley on IR, cut two draft picks

Englewood, CO (Sports Network) - The Denver Broncos placed veteran linebacker Stewart Bradley on injured reserve, and released a pair of 2013 draft picks as part of 22 moves to get to the NFL's 53-man roster limit.

Bradley, a former starter in Philadelphia and Arizona, was joined by fellow linebacker Lerentee McCray and defensive end Quanterus Smith, a fifth-round draft choice this season, on injured reserve.

The Broncos also waived another fifth-round draft pick, wide receiver Tavarres King, as well as sixth round choice, offensive tackle Vinston Painter.

Also released were running backs Lance Ball and Jeremiah Johnson, offensive lineman C.J. Davis, veteran center Ryan Lilja and tight end Jake O'Connell.

Denver waived defensive end Jeremy Beal, offensive guard Philip Blake, offensive tackle Paul Cornick, defensive tackles Romney Fuga and Ben Garland, cornerback Aaron Hester, linebacker Damien Holmes, safety Ross Rasner, wide receivers Gerell Robinson and Lamaar Thomas and defensive end John Youboty.

Finally the team placed All-Pro linebacker Von Miller on the reserve/suspended list, a designation that means Miller will not count against the active roster during the first six weeks of the season while he serves a suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

The Broncos open the regular season on Sept. 5, when they host the reigning Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens.
