Irving, Cavs down Jazz

Salt Lake City, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Kyrie Irving had 25 points, eight assists, six rebounds and five steals as the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Utah Jazz 113-102 on Friday night.

Tristan Thompson tallied 18 points and 15 boards for Cleveland, which has won two in a row on the heels of a 1-8 stretch.

Luol Deng had 10 points in his Cleveland debut. The Cavs acquired the two-time All-Star Deng from the Chicago Bulls Tuesday in exchange for center Andrew Bynum, who was promptly waived, along with a first round pick and a pair of second rounders.

Trey Burke had 17 points and six assists for the Jazz, who had won three of their last four games coming in.

An Alec Burks 3-pointer pulled the Jazz within 72-68 late in the third, but Cleveland closed the frame on a 15-2 run.

Irving nailed a pair of triples and netted the first eight points of the surge and Jarrett Jack knocked down a 3 at the buzzer to give the Cavs an 85-70 cushion heading into the fourth, where they cruised to the easy win.

The game was tied 26-26 after a quarter of play and Utah led 49-46 at the break.

Game Notes

The Cavaliers shot 54.2 percent (43-of-85) from the floor and 50 percent (7- of-14) from beyond the arc ... The Cavs outrebounded the Jazz 45-34 and outscored them in the paint, 54-40.
