Abreu homers again as ChiSox down Indians

Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Jose Abreu clubbed his major league- leading 29th homer of the season, a two-run shot that set the tone for the Chicago White Sox' 6-2 decision over the Cleveland Indians.

Gordon Beckham added a two-run double and Scott Carroll tossed five scoreless innings before exiting with a back injury to help the White Sox halt a three- game losing streak.

Prior to his departure, Carroll (4-5) held the Indians to a pair of singles and a walk in the 29-year-old rookie's second straight impressive start on the road. He yielded just one hit over 6 2/3 scoreless innings to best Boston in Fenway Park on Monday.

Cleveland's Zach McAllister (3-5), making his first major league start since May 21, also pitched well despite being hung with the loss. The right-hander was reached for three runs on only four hits over seven solid frames.

Michael Brantley had a solo homer for the Indians and Jason Kipnis went 1- for-3 with an RBI in defeat.
