St. Louis Rams Player Notes
For The Last 365 Days

Brian Quick, WR9/16/2014 2:50:00 PM
Description: Rams third-year receiver Brian Quick was the top target for quarterback Austin Davis with nine targets and has 18 on the season.
Insight: Quick caught seven of them for 74 yards and has shown a lot of improvement in the preseason and early going. He's averaging 86.5 ypg, but needs to reach the end zone to get his fantasy value up to starting levels.
Austin Davis, QB9/16/2014 2:48:00 PM
Description: Rams quarterback Austin Davis started Week 2 and was efficient in completing 22-of-29 passes for 235 yards.
Insight: Unfortunately, he didn't throw any touchdown passes, and his fantasy value was minimal. He'll need to put it into the end zone before fantasy owners will pay attention.
Zac Stacy, RB9/16/2014 10:40:00 AM
Description: Rams running back Zac Stacy was better in Week 2, posting 71 yards and a score on 19 rushing attempts, but he's still not playing up to expectations.
Insight: The Rams offense is trying to find its way under the direction of quarterbacks Austin Davis and Shaun Hill. Stacy should continue to get the bulk of the rushing attempts, he's averaging 15 per game, but that's less than he got as a starter last season, so his upside may be a bit more limited.
Tavon Austin, WR9/14/2014 2:56:00 PM
Description: Rams receiver Tavon Austin s expected to miss 2-3 weeks after suffering a knee injury in Sunday's game.
Insight: Austin suffered a sprained MCL, like Ryan Mathews, but not as severe apparently and will miss about half as much time. He has yet to prove he was worth the high pick the Rams used on him (eighth overall pick in 2013) and fantasy owners should continue to stay away.
Shaun Hill, QB9/13/2014 3:09:00 PM
Description: Rams quarterback Shaun Hill (thigh) traveled with the team to Tampa Bay according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.
Insight: Hill does still have a chance to play, but he is a true game-time decision. Austin Davis would get the start if Hill does not play.
Robert Quinn, DE9/13/2014 1:43:00 PM
Description: Rams defensive end Robert Quinn signed a four-year, $66.575 million contract extension according to Adam Schefter.
Insight: The deal includes $41.2 million guaranteed and keeps Quinn in St. Louis until the end of the 2019 season. Quinn was an All-Pro last year and already has 34.5 sacks in 48 career games. He is one of the best pass rushers in the NFL and is our guess to lead the league in sacks durin 2014.
Shaun Hill, QB9/12/2014 3:47:00 PM
Description: Rams quarterback Shaun Hill is being called a game-time decision according to coach Jeff Fisher.
Insight: Hill suffered a thigh injury after going 8-of-13 for 81 yards and an interception on Sunday. Hill was a limited practice participant in Friday's practice. Austin Davis played the rest of the game at quarterback and would be the starter if Hill isn't ready to go.
Chris Long, DE9/10/2014 4:15:00 PM
Description: St. Louis DL Chris Long (left ankle) will need surgery and is expected to miss 8-10 weeks, according to Adam Schefter.
Insight: Long on one side and All-Pro Robert Quinn on the other side made the Rams defense a strength. This is going to knock them down a peg or two. long is probably a candidate for the short-term injured reserve.
Shaun Hill, QB9/8/2014 2:22:00 PM
Description: Rams quarterback Shaun Hill 's status is in doubt for Week 2 according to Ian Rapoport.
Insight: Hill suffered a thigh injury after going 8-of-13 for 81 yards and an interception on Sunday. Austin Davis played the rest of the game at quarterback. Whether its Hill or Davis, there are about 30 other quarterbacks you would rather start.
Chris Long, DE9/7/2014 3:28:00 PM
Description: St. Louis DL Chris Long left Sunday's game in the third quarter with a left ankle injury and is questionable to return.
Insight: Long was the second overall draft pick in 2008 and had double-digit sacks in 2011 and 2012, but was held to just 8.5 last season and was looking to rebound. This won't help.
Shaun Hill, QB9/7/2014 2:58:00 PM
Description: Rams quarterback Shaun Hill didn't last very long as the replacement for Sam Bradford.
Insight: Hill has a thigh injury after going 8-of-13 for 81 yards and an interception and scoring zero points. Austin Davis is under center in the third quarter.
Austin Davis, QB9/7/2014 2:57:00 PM
Description: Starter Shaun Hill was benched after producing scoring zero points in the first half and Austin Davis is under center in the third quarter.
Insight: This is Davis' first action in the NFL. His fantasy value to be determined.
Tre Mason, RB9/7/2014 12:06:00 PM
Description: Rookie Tre Mason is inactive for Week 1 versus Minnesota.
Insight: Mason is third on the depth chart behind Zac Stacy and Benny Cunningham, so his fantasy value would be very limited anyway.
Case Keenum, QB9/1/2014 6:56:00 PM
Description: The St. Louis Rams have claimed quarterback Case Keenum off waivers from the Houston Texans.
Insight: The Texans waived the second-year QB after acquiring Ryan Mallett from the New England Patriots and the Rams needed a backup for Shaun Hill.
Sam Bradford, QB8/24/2014 4:03:00 PM
Description: According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, Rams quarterback Sam Bradford is out for the season after an MRI revealed that he re-tore the ACL in his left knee. Shaun Hill is now the starting quarterback
Insight: Bradford suffered the injury during Saturday's preseason game. He was entering a make-or-break season with St. Louis and now his future is up in the air. The former No. 1 overall pick will turn 27 in November. His injury is a blow to the fantasy value of St. Louis' pass-catchers (Kenny Britt, Tavon Austin, Jared Cook and sleeper Brian Quick) and should result in the Rams giving more carries to Zac Stacy.
Sam Bradford, QB8/23/2014 8:48:00 PM
Description: Rams quarterback Sam Bradford left Saturday's preseason game against the Browns with a left knee injury.
Insight: It is the same knee Bradford had surgically repaired last fall. He went into the locker room under his own power for a short examination, and it didn't look serious but the injury history has to worry Bradford owners. The quarterback was 4-for-9 for 77 yards before the injury.
Brian Quick, WR8/19/2014 11:56:00 AM
Description: Rams third-year receiver Brian Quick appears to be ready to make a leap forward in production and fantasy value.
Insight: There is a well-known theory that many wide receivers breakout in their third season and that could happen for Quick. The 33rd selection of the 2012 draft class has done little to this point, but signs of him "getting it" have begun to show. Also as important, we saw quarterback Sam Bradford trust him Saturday despite being covered in a 41-yard catch and run. It may be Quick's time to shine and fantasy owners should use a late-round pick on him because of his upside.
Isaiah Pead, RB8/16/2014 7:54:00 PM
Description: The Rams believe Isaiah Pead tore his ACL during Saturday's preseason game, coach Jeff Fisher said. SOURCE: Mike Garafolo, FOX Sports
Insight: Pead, the 50th overall pick in the 2012 draft, has rushed for 75 yards on 17 carries in 25 NFL games. He would have been behind Zac Stacy, Benny Cunningham and Tre Mason on the depth chart if healthy.
Sam Bradford, QB8/15/2014 2:48:00 PM
Description: Rams quarterback Sam Bradford (knee surgery) is expected to play at least one quarter Saturday versus Green Bay.
Insight: Bradford is attempting to come back from a torn ACL and this will be fantasy owners first chance to see if he is ready to play. Prior to the injury, Bradford had 1,687 yards, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions in seven games. A healthy Bradford certainly helps the fantasy value of his receivers.
Benny Cunningham, RB8/14/2014 3:44:00 PM
Description: Rams second-year running back Benny Cunningham appears to be the leader for the handcuff role to Zac Stacy.
Insight: Tre Mason might be the more explosive runner, but Cunningham is a better pass blocker and with fragile Sam Bradford under center that's important. Eventually, Mason will bypass Cunningham.
Tavon Austin, WR8/13/2014 4:08:00 PM
Description: Former Rams receiver Torry Holt says that Tavon Austin has been very quiet in training camp.
Insight: Austin was drafted eighth overall but played limited snaps and had 40 catches for 418 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games last season. He also rushed for 151 yards and a touchdown on nine carries and racked up 678 return yards (398 kick, 280 punt) on 51 attempts. Fantasy owners in 12-team leagues cannot rely on the 23-year-old as a WR3.
Sam Bradford, QB8/5/2014 9:54:00 PM
Description: Rams quarterback Sam Bradford (knee surgery) is unlikely to play Friday, according to Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com.
Insight: Bradford is attempting to come back from a torn ACL, so the Rams are taking precautions. Prior to the injury, Bradford had 1,687 yards, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions in seven games. Jason La Canfora reported Friday that Bradford still doesn't look fully healthy, but he's expected to be ready for Week 1.
Kenny Britt, WR8/4/2014 11:29:00 AM
Description: Rams wide receiver Kenny Britt has looked good in early training camp action, according to Jason La Canfora.
Insight: Britt has spent the past three seasons trying to get healthy after tearing an ACL and is finally starting to look like the 2010 version (42-775-9). If healthy, he could improve Sam Bradford's value and with Tavon Austin be viable WR fantasy options.
Sam Bradford, QB8/4/2014 11:00:00 AM
Description: Rams quarterback Sam Bradford (knee surgery) was "moving a little gingerly at times during practice" according to Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports.
Insight: Bradford needs to be healthy if he is to maintain his starting status beyond 2014. Prior to his injury last season, Bradford threw for 1,687 yards, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions in seven games. Fantasy owners will have to watch his mobility and performance in preseason before setting his fantasy value.
Brian Quick, WR8/1/2014 8:46:00 PM
Description: According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Rams are hopeful receiver Brian Quick is ready to make a leap forward this season.
Insight: St. Louis took Quick with the first overall pick in the second round (33rd overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft, well ahead of Alshon Jeffery, Rueben Randle, T.Y. Hilton and Marvin Jones, who all have been much more productive than the 6-foot-3, 218-pound Quick. The 25-year-old has caught 29 passes for 458 yards and four touchdowns through two seasons. The third year is typically when receivers make a big statistical jump, so Quick could be a nice deep sleeper. He has a shot to start along with injury-prone Kenny Britt.
Zac Stacy, RB7/30/2014 10:28:00 PM
Description: According to Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com, Rams running back Zac Stacy has been getting most of the work with the first team during training camp.
Insight: The Rams drafted RB Tre Mason in the third round this year, so Stacy probably won't average 20.8 carries per game again like he did in his 12 starts last season. However, Mason likely won't be more than a change-of-pace back and Stacy should still see roughly 17 carries per game plus all the goal-line work.
Sam Bradford, QB7/25/2014 11:30:00 AM
Description: Rams quarterback Sam Bradford (knee surgery) appears to be ready to go for the start of training camp, according to a St. Louis Post-Dispatch report.
Insight: Prior to his injury, Bradford threw for 1,687 yards, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions in seven games. While Bradford has struggled to live up to expectations, he's more than capable of delivering gaudy numbers if healthy, so definitely keep an eye on his progress in camp.
Tavon Austin, WR7/23/2014 1:28:00 PM
Description: Rams receiver Tavon Austin says he had trouble grasping the team's playbook last season, according to the Associated Press. "I didn't really know what was going on," Austin said. "Everything looked like Spanish and sounded like Spanish to me."
Insight: Austin was drafted eighth overall but played limited snaps and had 40 catches for 418 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games. He also rushed for 151 yards and a touchdown on nine carries and racked up 678 return yards (398 kick, 280 punt) on 51 attempts. He insists he knows the playbook now. "I understand the plays, the depth, the routes, the splits and everything," Austin said. "I just feel good that I can make some plays. Definitely, the game's slowed down for me." Austin has a lot of upside and carries a ninth-round ADP.
Zac Stacy, RB7/18/2014 9:01:00 PM
Description: Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com predicts rookie running back Tre Mason will get 8-10 carries per game for the Rams this season.
Insight: Zac Stacy saw 249 carries across his 12 starts in 2013, or 20.8 per game, and St. Louis really didn't use a backup much during that stretch. Mason stealing 8-10 carries per game would be devastating to Stacy's fantasy value unless the Rams plan to run the ball more than they did last season (St. Louis averaged 24.25 non-quarterback runs per game). We expect Stacy to still see around 17 touches per game and all the goal-line work, so his 27.1 ADP in fantasyfootballcalculator.com mock drafts is reasonable.
Sam Bradford, QB6/4/2014 12:18:00 PM
Description: Rams quarterback Sam Bradford (knee surgery) is expected to be ready to participate in the team's minicamp this week. Source: Chris Wesseling, NFL.com.
Insight: With a vote of confidence from head coach Jeff Fisher behind Bradford, the QB appears ready to return to action seven months after tearing the ACL in his left knee. Prior to his injury, Bradford threw for 1,687 yards, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions in seven games. While Bradford has struggled to live up to expectations, he's more than capable of delivering gaudy numbers if healthy, so definitely keep an eye on his progress this offseason.
Daryl Richardson, RB5/15/2014 7:01:00 PM
Description: St. Louis has cut ties with running back Daryl Richardson. SOURCE: Adam Caplan, ESPN
Insight: Richardson had a solid rookie season (475 rushing yards, 4.8 yards per carry) but couldn't get anything going in his sophomore campaign (215 yards, 3.1 ypc). The Rams are expected to go with Zac Stacy on early downs with rookie Tre Mason filling a third down/change of pace role. Isaiah Pead and Benny Cunningham are also on the roster.
Stedman Bailey, WR5/12/2014 8:20:00 PM
Description: Rams receiver Stedman Bailey will be suspended for the first four games of next season after testing positive for performance enhancing drugs. SOURCE: Nick Wagoner, ESPN
Insight: He'll be back for Week 6 against the 49ers. Bailey caught only 17 passes as a rookie. None of them went for touchdowns.
Michael Sam, DE5/11/2014 5:24:00 PM
Description: St. Louis used its final pick of the 2014 draft on Missouri defensive end Michael Sam.
Insight: Sam, who was taken 249th overall, is the first openly gay player to be drafted. Despite being named SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Year last season, Sam will have a lot to prove following his disappointing showing at the NFL Draft Combine three months ago.
Sam Bradford, QB5/6/2014 5:48:00 PM
Description: Rams coach Jeff Fisher reiterated on Tuesday that Sam Bradford is the team's starting quarterback, according to Tony Softli of 101 ESPN.
Insight: Fisher went as far as saying Bradford is the reason he took the St. Louis coaching job. Prior to tearing his ACL last season, Bradford had 1,687 yards, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions in seven games. Due to the Robert Griffin III trade in 2012, the Rams have the No. 2 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, but they're expected to trade it or spend it on an offensive lineman, not a QB.
Kenny Britt, WR3/31/2014 8:05:00 PM
Description: The Rams have signed WR Kenny Britt to a one-year deal.
Insight: Britt will be reunited with Jeff Fisher, who drafted the receiver in 2009. Britt has been set back by multiple knee injuries and discipline problems and put up just 685 yards and four touchdowns in 26 games the last two years. The Rams haven't had a 1,000-yard receiver since Torry Holt in 2007.
Shaun Hill, QB3/26/2014 8:40:00 PM
Description: According to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Rams have agreed to sign quarterback Shaun Hill to a one-year, $1.75 million contract.
Insight: Hill will only see the field next season if Sam Bradford gets hurt. Given Bradford's long injury history, that's certainly a possibility.
Zac Stacy, RB3/26/2014 2:53:00 PM
Description: According to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Rams coach Jeff Fisher addressed running back Zac Stacy's future role with the team on Wednesday. "I think over time, he'll probably be that 70-percent-of-the-carries guy," Fisher said.
Insight: What does he mean, over time? In 12 games as St. Louis' starting tailback last season, Stacy averaged 20.8 carries. He should be a late first-round or early second-round pick in 2014 drafts.
Cortland Finnegan, CB3/5/2014 7:54:00 PM
Description: The Rams cut ties with cornerback Cortland Finnegan on Wednesday. SOURCE: Cortland Finnegan on Twitter
Insight: Finnegan missed the second half of last season with a facial fracture. At age 30, the former Pro Bowler will probably have to settle for a one or two-year deal in free agency.
Sam Bradford, QB2/21/2014 3:45:00 PM
Description: Rams coach Jeff Fisher said starting QB Sam Bradford will begin throwing in late May and early June.
Insight: Hopefully, he sticks to that schedule and is available come the start of summer camp. Bradford was putting up solid stats until his season-ending injury. He was averaing 241 ypg with 14 TD passes and just four interceptions.
Sam Bradford, QB2/18/2014 9:13:00 PM
Description: Rams coach Jeff Fisher reiterated on ESPN's "Mike and Mike" Tuesday that Sam Bradford will be the team's starting quarterback in 2014.
Insight: "Sam's doing great with the rehab," Fisher said. "He's really excited. He took on a leadership role last year and he's maintained that and he's our quarterback, and we've said that." Bradfordm, the 2010 No. 1 overall pick, had 1,687 yards, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions in the first seven games last season before tearing his ACL. He's entering a make-or-break season in 2014.
Sam Bradford, QB1/17/2014 10:27:00 AM
Description: Rams quarterback Sam Bradford is expected to be ready for training camp next summer, according to a St. Louis Post-Dispatch report.
Insight: The 2013 season was a slight step back for Bradford who appeared to be blossoming into a viable fantasy QB option in 2012 (3,702 yards, 21 TD, 13 INT). He played well in seven games, but for the second time in four years missed a big portion of the season due to injury. The jury is still out on the 2010 No. 1 overall selection.
Tavon Austin, WR12/29/2013 3:33:00 PM
Description: St. Louis wideout and return specialist Tavon Austin won't be in the lineup Sunday versus Seattle.
Insight: It's the third game Austin has missed with a high ankle sprain. He'll finish his rookie campaign with 40 catches for 418 yards and four scores.
Zac Stacy, RBHot12/22/2013 5:44:00 PM
Description: Rams running back Zac Stacy had his second straight 100-yard game and scored a touchdown for the seventh time in the last seven games Sunday against the Buccaneers.
Insight: Stacy took 33 handoffs in Week 16 and has averaged 21.3 carries per game in 11 games since taking over the starting job. He needs 42 rushing yards in Week 17 to hit the 1,000-yard mark.
Tavon Austin, WR12/22/2013 11:41:00 AM
Description: Rams WR/PR Tavon Austin (ankle) didn't play in Week 15 against the Saints and isn't going to play in Week 16. He's inactive.
Insight: Austin has made at least one 50-plus-yard play in three of the past four games, but his usage has been too sporadic to use him in fantasy.
Tavon Austin, WR12/20/2013 10:02:00 AM
Description: Rams WR/PR Tavon Austin (ankle) didn't play in Week 15 against the Saints and it isn't looking very good for Week 16 after he missed Thursday's practice.
Insight: Austin has made at least one 50-plus-yard play in three of the past four games, but his usage has been too sporadic to use him in fantasy.
Zac Stacy, RB12/15/2013 7:49:00 PM
Description: Rams running back Zac Stacy galloped for 133 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries Sunday against the Saints.
Insight: It was his first 100-yard game since Nov. 3 against the Titans. Stacy is just 146 yards away from 1,000 yards with two games to play even though he had just one carry in the first four games.
Tavon Austin, WR12/15/2013 11:07:00 AM
Description: Rams WR/PR Tavon Austin (ankle) is not expected to play in Week 15 against the Saints, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
Insight: Austin has made at least one 50-plus-yard play in three of the past four games, but his usage has been too sporadic to use him in fantasy.
Zac Stacy, RB12/1/2013 2:57:00 PM
Description: St. Louis halfback Zac Stacy is active for Sunday's game against San Francisco.
Insight: Stacy has passed all his concussion tests and should see his usual workload Sunday against the 49ers' 12th-ranked run defense. The rookie out of Vanderbilt has scored at least once in each of his last three contests.
Zac Stacy, RB11/29/2013 5:33:00 PM
Description: St. Louis halfback Zac Stacy has been medically cleared for Sunday's game against San Francisco. SOURCE: Mike Florio, NBC Sports
Insight: Stacy has passed all his concussion tests and should see his usual workload Sunday against the 49ers' 12th-ranked run defense. The rookie out of Vanderbilt has scored at least once in each of his last three contests.
Zac Stacy, RB11/28/2013 3:07:00 PM
Description: Rams running back Zac Stacy (concussion) was listed as limited in Thursday's practice, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. However, Stacy didn't do any contact work.
Insight: The fact that Stacy was able to get on the field for some part of practice bodes well for his chances of playing Sunday against the 49ers.
Zac Stacy, RB11/27/2013 4:47:00 PM
Description: Rams running back Zac Stacy (concussion) didn't practice Wednesday, according to Nick Wagoner of espn.com. However, he did do some work in the walkthrough and ran on the side.
Insight: Stacy will have to pass the NFL's concussion protocol before he's cleared to play Sunday against the 49ers. If not, Benny Cunningham will get the start.
Benny Cunningham, RBHot11/24/2013 6:47:00 PM
Description: Rams rookie Benny Cunningham scrambled for a career-best 109 yards in Sunday's win over Chicago.
Insight: That gives Cunningham 181 yards in his last two contests. If Zac Stacy (concussion) can't suit up next week against the 49ers, Cunningham would get the start. Look for the 23-year-old to get plenty of attention on the waiver wire this week.
Zac Stacy, RB11/24/2013 3:55:00 PM
Description: St. Louis halfback Zac Stacy has been diagnosed with a concussion. He didn't come out for the start of the second half Sunday against the Bears.
Insight: Obviously, he's done for the day. Backup Benny Cunningham stands the most to gain in Stacy's absence.
Zac Stacy, RB11/24/2013 3:15:00 PM
Description: Rams running back Zac Stacy, off to a fast start with 87 yards and a score, did not come out for the second half while being checked for a concussion.
Insight: This could be a disaster for the up-and-coming star as teams head into the fantasy playoffs. We await further word on his status.
Daryl Richardson, RB11/24/2013 12:05:00 PM
Description: Rams halfback Daryl Richardson will be a healthy scratch Sunday against Chicago. SOURCE: Nick Wagoner, ESPN
Insight: Richardson's fantasy value has evaporated in the wake of Zac Stacy's second half explosion. Even in deeper leagues, it's a mistake to keep him on your roster.
Tavon Austin, WR11/10/2013 6:44:00 PM
Description: Rams rookie Tavon Austin only had two receptions Sunday against Indianapolis but he made them both count. Each went for a touchdown as Austin finished the afternoon with 138 receiving yards.
Insight: Austin even added a 98-yard punt return touchdown for good measure. As spectacular as Austin was on Sunday, his 69 yard per catch average will be impossible to sustain. Look for the 22-year-old to come back to Earth next week against the Bears.
Zac Stacy, RBHot11/10/2013 11:53:00 AM
Description: Rams running back Zac Stacy (foot) is active, as expected, and is a must start.
Insight: He is a must-start in fantasy after two straight 120-yard rushing games.
Daryl Richardson, RBCold11/10/2013 11:39:00 AM
Description: St. Louis running back Daryl Richardson is inactive for Week 10.
Insight: With the way Zac Stacy has taken over at running back for the Rams, hardly anyone will notice that Richardson isn't on the field.
Zac Stacy, RBHot11/7/2013 4:22:00 PM
Description: Rams running back Zac Stacy (foot) practiced Thursday after sitting out Wednesday.
Insight: St. Louis has been giving its new workhorse Wednesday's off the last few weeks. He's fully expected to start Sunday against the Colts and is a must-start in fantasy after two straight 120-yard rushing games.
Zac Stacy, RBHot11/3/2013 5:19:00 PM
Description: The Rams pounded Zac Stacy again Sunday against Tennessee and the rookie tailback came away with 127 rushing yards, 51 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Insight: Stacy showed no signs of the minor ankle sprain he suffered last Monday night. He's rushed for 261 yards on 53 carries the last two games and 471 yards on 102 carries since taking over the starting job five games ago. He's a must-start going forward.
Zac Stacy, RB11/3/2013 12:01:00 PM
Description: Rams running back Zac Stacy (ankle) will start Sunday against the Titans.
Insight: Stacy sprained his ankle late in Monday's loss to Seattle, but he returned to practice Thursday. The running back rushed for 134 yards against the Seahawks and is a strong RB2 in all leagues this week.
Zac Stacy, RB11/3/2013 10:05:00 AM
Description: Rams running back Zac Stacy (ankle) is expected to start Sunday against the Titans, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Insight: Stacy sprained his ankle late in Monday's loss to Seattle, but he returned to practice Thursday. The running back rushed for 134 yards against the Seahawks and is a strong RB2 in all leagues this week.
Zac Stacy, RB10/31/2013 10:05:00 PM
Description: St. Louis halfback Zac Stacy was back at practice on Thursday. SOURCE: Jim Thomas, St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Insight: Stacy sprained his ankle late in Monday's loss to Seattle. Barring a setback, he should see his normal workload Sunday against Tennessee.
Zac Stacy, RB10/30/2013 6:56:00 PM
Description: Rams coach running back Zac Stacy (ankle) did some individual work Wednesday but still received a did-not-practice designation. SOURCE: Jim Thomas, St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Insight: Stacy looked tremendous Monday night against Seattle, gashing a strong Seattle defensive front for 134 yards on 26 carries, but he suffered an ankle sprain in the game and is questionable for Sunday's game against Tennessee. Because Stacy didn't do any 7-on-7 or 11-on-11 work Wednesday, he's listed as a DNP.
Kellen Clemens, QB10/30/2013 4:01:00 PM
Description: The Rams are going with Kellen Clemens at quarterback again in Week 9. SOURCE: ESPN.com
Insight: He'll start against the Titans, who rank seventh in passing yards allowed (219.9 per game). Clemens had a tough game last week (17-for-35, 177 yards, 2 INT) but that was against the Seahawks, who are always difficult to score on. The 30-year-old has a 60.3 career quarterback rating in 32 appearances.
Zac Stacy, RB10/29/2013 5:31:00 PM
Description: Rams running back Zac Stacy has avoided a high-ankle sprain, according to Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports.
Insight: Stacy looked tremendous Monday night against Seattle, gashing a strong Seattle defensive front for 134 yards on 26 carries. However, he was on the sidelines late in the fourth as St. Louis was trying to punch in the go-ahead score and Daryl Richardson got stuffed on 3rd down from the 2-yard line. Stacy re-entered on the game's final play, but was sent out wide as a decoy. Consider him day-to-day and questionable for Week 9 against Tennessee.
Zac Stacy, RB10/29/2013 1:55:00 PM
Description: Rams running back Zac Stacy missed part of Monday night's game against the Seahawks after suffering a sprained ankle.
Insight: Stacy was one of only two running backs to crack the 100-yard mark last weekend. He's become the Rams' primary ball carrier and a solid fantasy contributor.
Brady Quinn, QB10/22/2013 8:09:00 PM
Description: The Rams have signed quarterback Brady Quinn, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Insight: They also brought in QB Austin Davis. Kellen Clemens is expected to start Monday against the Seahawks after Sam Bradford suffered a torn ACL Sunday against the Panthers.
Sam Bradford, QB10/21/2013 10:07:00 PM
Description: Rams coach Jeff Fisher says that Sam Bradford will be the starter again when he returns from his torn ACL. SOURCE: Rams on Twitter
Insight: That won't be until 2014. In the meantime, Kellen Clemens will handle the quarterback duties for St. Louis. John Skelton, Matt Leinart and David Carr, all scheduled to work out for the Rams this week, could be brought on as backups.
Kellen Clemens, QB10/21/2013 2:32:00 PM
Description: The St. Louis Rams will start quarterback Kellen Clemens in Week 8 against Seattle, according to the St. Louis Post Dispatch. Pretty easy guess considering he's the only QB on the current roster.
Insight: This is the worst team he could face as the Seahawks probably own the best secondary in the league. Avoiding Clemens and his receivers is a must.
Sam Bradford, QB10/21/2013 1:00:00 PM
Description: NBC's Pro Football Talk is reporting that St. Louis QB Sam Bradford has a torn left ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.
Insight: If true, Kellen Clemens would be the Rams' Week 8 starting quarterback. That would lower the fantasy value for all St. Louis receivers.
Sam Bradford, QB10/20/2013 6:37:00 PM
Description: St. Louis QB Sam Bradford is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his left knee and the team is concerned, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Insight: Bradford had to be carted off the field Sunday against the Panthers. Rams coach Jeff Fisher said after the game that Bradford was in "significant pain on the sideline." Kellen Clemens might have to start next Monday against the Seahawks.
Zac Stacy, RB10/20/2013 6:13:00 PM
Description: Rams running back Zac Stacy had 87 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown on 21 touches Sunday at Carolina.
Insight: Stacy saw 17 carries, giving him 49 in three games since becoming the starter. Meanwhile, Daryl Richardson has carried the rock just six times the last two games. Stacy has a tough matchup in Week 8 as he faces the Seahakws on Monday night, but he can be regarded as a flex play with six teams on a bye.
Sam Bradford, QB10/20/2013 4:07:00 PM
Description: St. Louis QB Sam Bradford left Sunday's game against Carolina late in the fourth quarter due to a left leg injury.
Insight: He was carted off the field and replaced by Kellen Clemens after completing 21-of-30 for 255 yards, one touchdown and one pick.
Sam Bradford, QBHot10/13/2013 7:16:00 PM
Description: St. Louis QB Sam Bradford dished out three more touchdowns Sunday in a win over Houston.
Insight: That gives Bradford six touchdowns to just one interception over the past two weeks. The yardage hasn't been there (just 117 yards this week) but if Bradford keeps piling on the touchdowns it won't matter.
Zac Stacy, RB10/13/2013 12:03:00 PM
Description: St. Louis running back Zac Stacy had the wind knocked out of him last week versus Jacksonville but he's back in the starting lineup Sunday against Houston.
Insight: Not only that, but coach Jeff Fisher is hoping to give him a bigger workload than the 14 carries he saw last week. The rookie makes for a decent flex option in Week 6.
Zac Stacy, RB10/10/2013 5:49:00 PM
Description: Rams rookie Zac Stacy (ribs) practiced Thursday in a limited capacity, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Insight: Stacy is expected to play Sunday against the Texans and should see at least 15 touches. He's a solid flex option.
Zac Stacy, RB10/9/2013 4:20:00 PM
Description: Rams rookie Zac Stacy didn't take part in Wednesday's practice, due to soreness.
Insight: Stacy rushed 14 times for 78 yards last weekend after getting just one carry in the first four weeks. No wonder he was sore. He's expected to be the starter in Week 5 against Houston, but Daryl Richardson will still get a large portion of the workload.
Zac Stacy, RB10/7/2013 8:24:00 PM
Description: Rams rookie Zac Stacy has earned another start at halfback. SOURCE: Rams on Twitter
Insight: Stacy was surprisingly effective in his first game as the lead back, notching 78 yards on 14 carries. He got the wind knocked out of him late in Sunday's win over Jacksonville, though head coach Jeff Fisher didn't seem concerned about his Week 6 status.
Zac Stacy, RB10/6/2013 6:58:00 PM
Description: Rams rookie running back Zac Stacy left Sunday's game in the fourth quarter but says he just had the wind knocked out of him, according to Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com.
Insight: Stacy drew the start and was more effective than Daryl Richardson, who had 48 yards on 13 carries. The rookie had 78 yards rushing on 14 carries and should be St. Louis' lead back going forward.
Austin Pettis, WR10/6/2013 6:34:00 PM
Description: Rams receiver Austin Pettis caught two touchdowns Sunday against the Jaguars.
Insight: Pettis only caught four passes for 49 yards, but he made them count. The receiver has 19 catches, 206 yards and four touchdowns over his last four games and should be added as a bye-week fill-in WR3.
Sam Bradford, QB10/6/2013 6:33:00 PM
Description: Rams quarterback Sam Bradford found the end zone three times in Week 5 against the Jaguars.
Insight: It must have been nice to play Jacksonville after looking awful against the 49ers last Thursday. Despite Sunday's results, Bradford is not a trusted fantasy option, especially at Houston in Week 6.
Zac Stacy, RB10/6/2013 10:55:00 AM
Description: Another report that Rams rookie Zac Stacy will be the lead back Sunday against Jacksonville has surfaced, this time from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Insight: Playing against the Jaguars would provide Stacy with a nice safety net, but it doesn't necessarily mean he'll be a factor in fantasy. Head coach Jeff Fisher has been noncommital about who's starting, but has said he plans to use all his backs. It's likely that none will be fantasy worthy, but at least if you start Stacy you have the first shot at your player having the "hot hand."
Zac Stacy, RB10/3/2013 12:01:00 PM
Description: ESPN's Nick Wagoner suspects Rams rookie Zac Stacy will be the lead back Sunday against Jacksonville.
Insight: Playing against the Jaguars would provide Stacy with a nice safety net, but it doesn't necessarily mean he'll be a factor in fantasy. Head coach Jeff Fisher has been noncommital about who's starting though it would appear that Stacy and Isaiah Pead are the most likely candidates. With the Week 5 byes hitting owners hard, the St. Louis running back situation is certainly worth monitoring.
Daryl Richardson, RBCold10/2/2013 1:58:00 PM
Description: St. Louis running back Daryl Richardson said on Twitter that he was not starting in Week 5 against Jacksonville.
Insight: With Isaiah Pead a healthy scratch last week, it would appear as if Benny Cunningham might get the start in a favorable matchup against the 32nd-ranked run defense (164.2 ypg). Whichever back gets the call, he could be a viable fantasy option.
Cortland Finnegan, CB9/26/2013 10:10:00 PM
Description: Rams cornerback Cortland Finnegan left Thursday's game with an injured thigh.
Insight: Finnegan's return is questionable. Trumaine Johnson will take over the left corner position while he's out.
Isaiah Pead, RB9/26/2013 7:21:00 PM
Description: St. Louis halfback Isaiah Pead won't play Thursday against the 49ers.
Insight: He appears to be a healthy scratch. Pead hasn't done much this season, contributing just 21 yards on seven rushes. Daryl Richardson and Benny Cunningham will handle the rushing load in Pead's absence.
Daryl Richardson, RB9/23/2013 10:13:00 PM
Description: St. Louis halfback Daryl Richardson didn't play much in Week 3 but he says he's "good to go" for Thursday's game against San Francisco. SOURCE: ESPN.com
Insight: A foot injury limited Richardson to one snap in Sunday's loss to Dallas. So far, he's produced 98 rushing yards on 30 carries this season. Isaiah Pead and Benny Cunningham will split carries if Richardson decides later that he can't suit up.
Isaiah Pead, RB9/22/2013 5:12:00 PM
Description: Rams running back Isaiah Pead rushed for just 20 yards in relief of an injured Daryl Richardson, but did prove to be a decent receiver with seven catches for 43 yards.
Insight: The Rams fell way behind and didn't really get to establish a running game, but Richardson figures to be the starter when healthy. Pead could get some looks on third down.
Daryl Richardson, RB9/22/2013 5:08:00 PM
Description: Rams running back Daryl Richardson had his injured foot stepped on early in Sunday's game and never came back into the game.
Insight: Neither Isaiah Pead (six rushers for-20 yards) or Benny Cunningham (4-for-20) did much against the Dallas defense, although Pead did catch seven balls for 43 yards. A healthy Richardson should still be the Rams' No. 1 running back.
Daryl Richardson, RB9/22/2013 12:27:00 PM
Description: Rams running back Daryl Richardson (foot) did very little in practice Friday and could be limited Sunday, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Insight: Thomas says to "keep an eye" on Richardson's workload. Fantasy owners should only consider him as a flex option Sunday at Dallas.
