Indianapolis Colts Player Notes
For The Last 365 Days

Hakeem Nicks, WRCold9/16/2014 9:28:00 PM
Description: Hakeem Nicks was targeted just three times, for minus four yards, and can't be counted on as a fantasy option.
Insight: Nicks hasn't been a WR1 since 2011 and doesn't figure to get back to that status in Indy. Keep looking.
Reggie Wayne, WR9/16/2014 9:29:00 AM
Description: Colts receiver Reggie Wayne did nothing in Monday night's game against the Eagles.
Insight: Wayne was targeted seven times, but caught just three for 28 yards. Sad production after the optimism of his nine-catch, 98-yard season opener.
T.Y. Hilton, WR9/16/2014 9:25:00 AM
Description: Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton was targeted 11 times again in Week 2, but posted just six receptions for 65 yards and no touchdowns.
Insight: He's usually been much better indoors at home, but his Monday night total probably didn't help fantasy owners.
Andrew Luck, QB9/16/2014 9:24:00 AM
Description: Colts QB Andrew Luck could never get comfortable, but still tossed three touchdown passes.
Insight: Luck could only put up 172 passing yards against a supposedly weak Eagles defense, but saved fantasy owners with three short touchdown passes.
Trent Richardson, RB9/16/2014 9:22:00 AM
Description: Colts running back Trent Richardson finally showed a bit of life Monday night against the Eagles.
Insight: Richardson ran for 79 tough yards and totaled 95 from scrimmage. Still, when it was time to put the ball in the end zone, the Colts went to Ahmad Bradshaw who caught two short touchdown passes.
Arthur Jones, DE9/15/2014 10:09:00 PM
Description: Colts DE Arthur Jones was carted to the locker room with what is being called a high-ankle sprain.
Insight: He will not return. Ricky Jean-Francois will likely see more playing time.
Ahmad Bradshaw, RB9/15/2014 7:25:00 PM
Description: Indianapolis running back Ahmad Bradshaw missed part of practice this week, but he's a go for game time.
Insight: If Bradshaw can stay healthy, he'll be the primary pass receiver out of the backfield and he runs as well as Trent Richardson. It's just you can't overwork him.
T.Y. Hilton, WR9/12/2014 10:35:00 AM
Description: Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton was targeted 11 times in Week 1, but had little to show for it - five receptions for 41 yards.
Insight: We're beginning to see a trend with the third-year receiver. He's a much better play at home than on the road. He averages 78.2 ypg in Indianapolis and 48.9 yards in road contests. The Colts host the Eagles Monday night so he's a solid play against a mediocre Philadelphia defense.
Trent Richardson, RBCold9/12/2014 10:30:00 AM
Description: Colts running back Trent Richardson was a disappointment in Week 1, rushing just six times for 20 yards.
Insight: An even worse sign is Richardson played 29 snaps and backup Ahmad Bradshaw was out there for 44 plays. Hopefully, the Colts won't fall behind the Eagles in Week 2 and Richardson can get equal time.
Ahmad Bradshaw, RB9/12/2014 10:26:00 AM
Description: Indianapolis running back Ahmad Bradshaw proved to be a valuable asset in the season opener with five catches for 70 yards to go along with 15 yards on the ground.
Insight: It appears that Bradshaw will be the guy in passing situations and the two-minute offense and Trent Richardson will be the primary runner. If Bradshaw can stay healthy, of course. He was limited in Thursday's practice, but is expected to be ready to go in Week 2.
Reggie Wayne, WR9/11/2014 2:04:00 PM
Description: Colts receiver Reggie Wayne did not practice on Thursday.
Insight: There is no cause for alarm. Wayne is just getting rest for his knee, and he looked very strong against the Broncos on Sunday night. The matchup against the Eagles, however, is not as strong as one might expect. Wayne will play in the slot in three-wide sets and Philadelphia's best cornerback, Brandon Boykin, will likely cover him.
Robert Mathis, LB9/8/2014 3:08:00 PM
Description: Indianapolis Colts linebacker Robert Mathis suffered a torn Achilles' tendon while working out in Atlanta last week and is out for the season.
Insight: Mathis was in Atlanta working out because of his suspension for the first four games of this season for violating the substance abuse policy. The Colts looked like they missed him as they put very little pressure on Peyton Manning Sunday night. Indianapolis will have to look for a pass rush somewhere else without Mathis this season.
Trent Richardson, RB8/23/2014 10:02:00 PM
Description: Colts running back Trent Richardson ran the ball for 14 yards on four carries.
Insight: After struggling in the first two preseason games, Richardson seemed to run with a purpose on Saturday. He ran for five and eight yards on his first two carries, but then ran for one yard in his next two carries combined. He is still a risky pick in the fifth round, which is his ADP. Tell me if you have heard that before. Through the first two preseason games he's carried the ball 14 times for 34 yards. That's a 2.43 ypc average. Remind me why you would want him on your fantasy roster.
Reggie Wayne, WR8/23/2014 9:36:00 PM
Description: Colts receiver Reggie Wayne started in Saturday's preseason game but failed to catch his lone target.
Insight: Wayne still looked good in his first game action since tearing his ACL in Week 7 last year. Wayne caught two passes that were negated for penalties. There is a good chance he leads Indianapolis in catches this season and is a quality flex play in most leagues.
Trent Richardson, RB8/17/2014 1:09:00 PM
Description: Colts running back Trent Richardson rushed for 21 yards on nine carries in the Colts second preseason game.
Insight: Tell me if you have heard that before. Through the first two preseason games he's carried the ball 14 times for 34 yards. That's a 2.43 ypc average. Remind me why you would want him on your fantasy roster.
Hakeem Nicks, WR8/17/2014 1:06:00 PM
Description: Hakeem Nicks caught five balls for 53 yards Saturday night, his best performance of the preseason, by far.
Insight: Nicks is working as the No. 3 receiver behind returning veteran Reggie Wayne and budding star T.Y. Hilton. It's hard to predict how much fantasy value Nicks can produce, but he certainly looked healthy. Nicks hasn't been a WR1 since 2011 and doesn't figure to get back to that status in Indy.
Ulrick John, OT8/8/2014 9:38:00 AM
Description: Rookie offensive tackle Ulrick John suffered a broken ankle in the exhibition game versus the Jets, according to Colts beat writer Stephen Holder.
Insight: He was a question mark to make the final 53-man roster, but along with the injury to center Khaled Holmes leaves the offensive line a bit thin. John will likely end up on injured reserve.
Khaled Holmes, C/G8/7/2014 8:31:00 PM
Description: Colts center Khalid Holmes injured his left ankle in Thursday night's preseason game and won't return.
Insight: He did walk off the field, so we don't expect this to effect his regular season availability.
Reggie Wayne, WR8/4/2014 1:36:00 PM
Description: Colts receiver Reggie Wayne, cleared for training camp, isn't likely to see action in the preseason opener.
Insight: Wayne tore his ACL in Week 7 and at 35-years-old won't see much work in the preseason. This shouldn't change his fantasy value as he knows all the plays and where to be. This should give rookie Donte Moncrief and veteran Hakeem Nicks more snaps.
Hakeem Nicks, WR8/3/2014 10:46:00 AM
Description: Hakeem Nicks is working as the No. 3 receiver behind returning veteran Reggie Wayne and budding star T.Y. Hilton.
Insight: Nicks has yet to show much in training camp, according to the Colts blog Stampede Blue. Until we see him in a game, it's hard to predict how much fantasy value Nicks can produce. Nicks hasn't been a WR1 since 2011.
Trent Richardson, RB7/30/2014 6:10:00 PM
Description: Colts running back Trent Richardson (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday, according to the Indianapolis Star.
Insight: Richardson hadn't practiced since last Thursday. The Colts need big things from him this season after trading a No. 1 pick for him last year and letting backup Donald Brown go in free agency. The Colts are going with the narrative that Richardson didn't have time to grasp the offense last year and has studied hard this offseason, but we're skeptical he'll live up to his fifth-round ADP.
Ahmad Bradshaw, RB7/28/2014 11:57:00 AM
Description: Indianapolis running backs Ahmad Bradshaw and Trent Richardson appear to be the only backfield options and both should have fantasy value this season.
Insight: The Colts backfield took a hit over the past week with the loss of Vick Ballard (knee injury) and Chris Rainey (cut for off-the-field reasons). If Richardson falls on his face again, Bradshaw could end up being an RB2 or better.
Coby Fleener, TE7/28/2014 11:32:00 AM
Description: Colts tight end Coby Fleener could get on the field with Dwayne Allen more often this season, according to Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star.
Insight: Both are talented tight ends with receiving ability, though we like Allen a little bit more than Fleener. With the return of Reggie Wayne and the addition of Hakeem Nicks both tight ends may actually see reduced targets.
Vick Ballard, RB7/25/2014 8:02:00 PM
Description: Colts running back Vick Ballard tore his left Achilles during Friday's practice and will likely miss the rest of the season. SOURCE: Chris Mortensen, ESPN
Insight: Ballard played one game in 2013 before tearing his right ACL during practice. With only injury-prone Ahmad Bradshaw and former sixth-rounder Dan Herron as backups, the Colts really need Trent Richardson to come through in 2014.
Ahmad Bradshaw, RB7/24/2014 11:49:00 AM
Description: Indianapolis running back Ahmad Bradshaw has been cleared to practice, according to an Indianapolis Star report.
Insight: Bradshaw has always been a solid fantasy option, when healthy, but he's part of a three-man backfield including Trent Richardson and Vick Ballard. Richardson should get the most carries, though after averaging 3.0 yards per rush last season, there's little reason to be confident in him. Fantasy owners may be better off avoiding all three.
Reggie Wayne, WR7/23/2014 1:36:00 PM
Description: Colts receiver Reggie Wayne (knee) said he's been cleared for training camp, according to colts.com.
Insight: Wayne tore his ACL last October. The 35-year-old is a WR3 at best due to his age and lack of touchdowns the past three years (11 TDs in 39 games). He's being drafted in the eighth round.
Reggie Wayne, WR6/17/2014 8:26:00 PM
Description: The Colts expect to have receiver Reggie Wayne (knee) back for the start of training camp, according to Phillip Wilson of the Indianapolis Star.
Insight: Coach Chuck Pagano said he would be "shocked" if that didn't happen. Wayne tore his ACL last October and missed OTAs, but he's been cleared for football activities. Draft the 35-year-old as a WR3 due to his age and lack of touchdowns the past three years (11 TDs in 39 games).
Dallas Clark, TE6/17/2014 8:11:00 PM
Description: Dallas Clark has decided to hang up his cleats.
Insight: Clark played for three teams in his 11 seasons. His best season came in 2009 when he reeled in 100 catches for 1,106 yards and ten touchdowns. He'll officially retire as a Colt on Wednesday.
Robert Mathis, LB5/16/2014 8:19:00 PM
Description: Indianapolis Colts LB Robert Mathis has been suspended four games for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy.
Insight: Mathis had 19.5 sacks in 2013 and finished as the runner-up to Luke Kuechly for Defensive Player of the Year. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Mathis tested positive for a male fertility drug that is on the NFL's list of banned substances.
Reggie Wayne, WR4/8/2014 8:37:00 PM
Description: Indianapolis receiver Reggie Wayne says he's way ahead of schedule in his recovery from ACL surgery. SOURCE: NFL.com
Insight: He also added that he expects to be fully cleared by April 25th. The Andrew Luck/Wayne tandem should be as dangerous as ever in 2014.
Hakeem Nicks, WR3/14/2014 9:07:00 PM
Description: Hakeem Nicks has agreed to a one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts, according to Mike Garafolo of foxsports.com.
Insight: Nicks' next touchdown will be his first since 2012. He had zero scores on his 56 catches for 896 yards in 15 games last season. He'll look to revitalize his career with Andrew Luck as his quarterback in hopes of landing a long-term contract. He'll have to share targets with Reggie Wayne, T.Y. Hilton and Coby Fleener, however, and the four may end up taking fantasy value from each other while improving Luck's.
Ahmad Bradshaw, RB3/11/2014 10:08:00 PM
Description: Indianapolis has re-signed halfback Ahmad Bradshaw to a one-year deal. SOURCE: NBC's Pro Football Talk
Insight: The Colts' backfield now consists of Bradshaw, Trent Richardson and Vick Ballard. Richardson should get the most carries, though after averaging 3.0 yards per rush last season, there's little reason to be confident in him. Fantasy owners may be better off avoiding all three.
Arthur Jones, DE3/11/2014 7:07:00 PM
Description: Arthur Jones is leaving Baltimore to join the Colts. SOURCE: Adam Schefter, ESPN
Insight: It's a five-year deal worth $33 million. Jones made 53 tackles last season, which was a new career-high. He'll help improve a defense that ranked 20th in the league in yards allowed last season.
Vontae Davis, DB3/11/2014 6:54:00 PM
Description: Vontae Davis isn't going anywhere. The cornerback re-signed with Indianapolis Tuesday on a four-year, $39 million deal. SOURCE: Jim Irsay on Twitter
Insight: Davis has recorded at least one pick in each of his first five seasons in the NFL. We expect that streak to continue in 2014.
Adam Vinatieri, K3/11/2014 6:23:00 PM
Description: Adam Vinatieri is returning to the Colts on a two-year, $5 million contract. SOURCE: Adam Schefter, ESPN
Insight: The 41-year-old can still bring it. Last year, Vinatieri connected on 87.5 percent of his attempts, his highest success rate since 2010. We'd expect him to have another strong season in 2014.
D'Qwell Jackson, LB3/6/2014 2:10:00 PM
Description: The Colts have signed ILB D'Qwell Jackson to a four-year deal.
Insight: Indianapolis was 26th against the run so any help would be good, though he may not be enough by himself to move them very far up the charts. He had 140 tackles last season, 1.5 sacks, one interception and one fumble recovery.
LaRon Landry, SS1/10/2014 2:48:00 PM
Description: Colts SS LaRon Landry has been upgraded from questionable to probable for Saturday's AFC Divisional Playoff against New England.
Insight: Landry had 87 tackles during the regular season and with Tom Brady on the other side of the line, the Colts can't afford to be without a top defensive back. It appears they won't have to.
Deion Branch, WR1/6/2014 4:49:00 PM
Description: The Colts have signed former Patriots receiver Deion Branch, five days before they play at New England in the divisional round of the playoffs.
Insight: Branch didn't play in the NFL this season after catching just 16 passes in 10 games in 2012. The 34-year-old played with the Patriots from 2002-05 and 2010-12, winning the MVP in Super Bowl XXXIX. Branch is unlikely to play much of a role Saturday, but the Colts are obviously looking for any competitive edge they can get.
Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR1/6/2014 12:06:00 PM
Description: Colts receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey left Saturday's playoff game against Kansas City due to a hamstring injury and questionable for Saturday's AFC Divisional Playoff against New England.
Insight: Heyward-Bey hasn't gotten much playing time of late, so this shouldn't change fantasy lineups. Since almost reaching the 1,000-yard mark in 2011 with Oakland, DHB's game has headed south.
LaRon Landry, SS1/6/2014 12:04:00 PM
Description: Colts SS LaRon Landry is questionable for Saturday's AFC Divisional Playoff against New England after taking a knee to the helmet in the fourth quarter against Kansas City.
Insight: He'll have to get through the league protocol if he's to play next weekend. Landry had 87 tackles during the regular season.
Greg Toler, CB1/6/2014 12:01:00 PM
Description: Indianapolis cornerback Greg Toler aggravated a groin injury in the first half of Saturday's game against Kansas City and questionable for Saturday's AFC Divisional Playoff against New England.
Insight: Toler got burned on a second quarter touchdown pass to Donnie Avery and didn't look healthy. The Colts will need a healthy secondary facing Tom Brady this Saturday.
Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR1/5/2014 9:30:00 AM
Description: Colts receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey (hamstring) left Saturday's playoff game against Kansas City.
Insight: Heyward-Bey hasn't gotten much playing time of late, so this shouldn't change fantasy lineups. Since almost reaching the 1,000-yard mark in 2011 with Oakland, DHB's game has headed south.
LaRon Landry, SS1/5/2014 9:25:00 AM
Description: Colts SS LaRon Landry appeared to suffer a concussion after taking a knee to the helmet in the fourth quarter against Kansas City.
Insight: He'll have to get through the league protocol if he's to play next weekend. Landry had 87 tackles during the regular season.
Donald Brown, RB1/4/2014 8:47:00 PM
Description: Colts halfback Donald Brown totaled 102 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns (one rushing and one receiving) in Saturday's first round victory over the Chiefs.
Insight: Brown's longest catch went for 25 yards. He also fumbled for only the second time in his career, though it was recovered by Andrew Luck for a five-yard touchdown. Backup Trent Richardson didn't see another carry after fumbling his first touch of the afternoon. Indianapolis will play New England in the next round if San Diego wins on Sunday but if the Bengals win, they'll face Denver.
T.Y. Hilton, WRHot1/4/2014 8:45:00 PM
Description: Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton recorded a career-high 224 yards receiving in Saturday's 45-44 win over Kansas City.
Insight: That gives the second-year wideout 379 receiving yards in his last two contests. The 224 yards he strung together on Saturday were the third-most in playoff history. Saturday marked Hilton's fourth career multi-touchdown game and his third of the season.
Andrew Luck, QB1/4/2014 8:38:00 PM
Description: Colts QB Andrew Luck overcame three interceptions to finish with four touchdowns and 443 yards passing Saturday in a wild come-from-behind win over Kansas City.
Insight: Luck also scored on a fumble recovery, giving him five combined touchdowns on the afternoon. The Colts came back from 28 points down to take the lead on a 64-yard TD pass late in the fourth quarter. The comeback was the second-largest in NFL playoff history.
Greg Toler, CB1/4/2014 6:33:00 PM
Description: Indianapolis cornerback Greg Toler aggravated a groin injury in the first half of Saturday's game against Kansas City. He's doubtful to return. SOURCE: Stephen Holder, Indianapolis Star
Insight: Toler got burned on a second quarter touchdown pass to Donnie Avery and hasn't seen the field since. Unless the Colts can mount a comeback in the second half, Toler may have played his last down of the season.
Ricky Jean-Francois, DT12/30/2013 12:22:00 PM
Description: Indianapolis DE Ricky Jean-Francois is questionable for Saturday's game against Kansas City due to a foot injury.
Insight: Ricky Jean-Francois has been out for a month with a foot sprain, but based on the 2-4 week injury projection could be ready for the first round of the playoffs.
Andrew Luck, QB12/29/2013 6:25:00 PM
Description: Indianapolis quarterback Andrew Luck has now thrown for 8,196 yards in his career, the most ever for a quarterback in his first two seasons.
Insight: Cam Newton had held the record until Sunday when Luck went off for 282 yards on 37 pass attempts. Luck cut his interceptions in half this season with nine in 16 games. Assuming New England holds on to beat Buffalo, Luck and the Colts will host Kansas City in round one of the AFC playoffs next weekend.
T.Y. Hilton, WR12/29/2013 6:02:00 PM
Description: Indianapolis wideout T.Y. Hilton finished the regular season on a high note by securing 11 catches for 155 yards in Sunday's 30-10 win over Jacksonville.
Insight: Both of those totals are career highs. The 155 yards pushed Hilton over 1,000 yards for the season. Assuming New England holds onto its 13-point lead, the Colts will host Kansas City next week in the first round of the playoffs.
Donald Brown, RB12/22/2013 5:46:00 PM
Description: Indianapolis running back Donald Brown had 79 rushing yards on 10 carries, 31 receiving yards on two receptions and two touchdowns Sunday at Kansas City.
Insight: Brown actually had seven fewer touches than Trent Richardson but he produced 52 more yards with his share and scored twice. Brown scored touchdowns on a 33-yard catch and 51-yard rush, while Richardson's longest gain was nine yards.
T.Y. Hilton, WR12/22/2013 12:46:00 PM
Description: Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton (shoulder) is active for Week 16 against the Chiefs, as expected.
Insight: Hilton has been playing with a shoulder injury for the past month. His eight catches in Week 15 were a season high and his 78 yards were his most since Week 10. He's a mid-range WR3.
Jeff Linkenbach, OT12/22/2013 11:45:00 AM
Description: offensive lineman Jeff Linkenbach is one of three Colts OL (also Joe Reitz, Hugh Thornton) who will be inactive.
Insight: Andrew Luck won't have much protection in front of him and prospects for a big day could be slim.
T.Y. Hilton, WR12/20/2013 1:28:00 PM
Description: Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton returned to practice Friday after jumping onto the injury report because of a missed practice on Thursday.
Insight: Hilton has been dealing with a shoulder problem. He had eight catches for 78 yards on 12 targets last week, but the total was his first 50-yard plus game in the last month.
Donald Brown, RB12/18/2013 5:01:00 PM
Description: Indianapolis running back Donald Brown (stinger) returned to a full practice Wednesday.
Insight: Brown suffered a stinger and never returned in Week 15 against Houston after rushing for 38 yards on five carries. Trent Richardson improved as the game went on and had a season-high 67 rushing yards while scoring his first touchdown since Week 4. Both players are risky flex options Sunday against Kansas City, but Brown is the better choice if you must use one of them.
T.Y. Hilton, WR12/15/2013 5:25:00 PM
Description: Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton's 41-yard catch Sunday against Houston was his first hookup with Andrew Luck of more than 20 yards since Week 10.
Insight: Hilton had eight catches for 78 yards on 12 targets. He hasn't been able to step up as a No. 1 receiver since Reggie Wayne went down with a torn ACL.
Trent Richardson, RB12/15/2013 5:22:00 PM
Description: Colts running back Trent Richardson had 19 carries Sunday against Houston, his most since Week 4 and the first time since Week 7 he had more than eight carries in a game.
Insight: Donald Brown went down with a stinger after rushing for 38 yards on five carries. Richardson had 64 rushing yards, 49 of which came on his final six carries of the game, 38 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Donald Brown, RB12/15/2013 2:55:00 PM
Description: Indianapolis running back Donald Brown is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Texans.
Insight: He suffered a stinger after rushing for 38 yards on five carries. Indianapolis already clinched the division so there's no need for Brown to return. The Colts are down to Trent Richardson, who has nine carries for three yards, and Tashard Choice at running back.
LaVon Brazill, WR12/15/2013 11:55:00 AM
Description: Colts second-year wideout LaVon Brazill missed all three practices and will miss the Week 15 matchup with Houston.
Insight: Brazill could have been a solid option this week after his two-touchdown effort in the last game, but now it looks like Da'Rick Rogers (6-107-2 last Sunday) could be the best play in Indy.
LaVon Brazill, WR12/13/2013 12:32:00 PM
Description: Colts second-year wideout LaVon Brazill missed a third practice in a row and fantasy owners should plan for him not playing Sunday.
Insight: Brazill could have been a solid option this week after his two-touchdown effort in the last game, but now it looks like Da'Rick Rogers (6-107-2 last Sunday) could be the best play in Indy.
LaVon Brazill, WR12/12/2013 1:55:00 PM
Description: Colts second-year wideout LaVon Brazill missed a second practice in a row and was seen in a walking boot.
Insight: Brazill could have been a solid option this week after his two-touchdown effort in the last game, but now it looks like Da'Rick Rogers (6-107-2 last Sunday) could be the best play in Indy.
Da'Rick Rogers, WR12/9/2013 5:29:00 PM
Description: According to Craig Kelley of Colts.com, Colts receiver Da'Rick Rogers played 68 percent of the team's offensive snaps in Week 14 against Cincinnati. He caught six passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns in the game.
Insight: Rogers went undrafted in 2013 due to off-the-field issues (he was kicked off the Tennessee football team in August 2012 for failing three drugs tests), but the 6-foot-3, 208-pound target led the SEC in receptions and receiving yards in 2011. The Colts are in desperate need of a big target to step up to take the pressure off T.Y. Hilton, and Rogers could be that guy.
Andrew Luck, QB12/8/2013 7:25:00 PM
Description: Colts QB Andrew Luck woke up in the second half to finish with 326 yards and four touchdowns Sunday against Cincinnati.
Insight: It was easily Luck's best fantasy performance of the season. Despite losing for the third time in five games, Indianapolis was able to wrap up the AFC South crown thanks to Denver's win over Tennessee. If the playoffs started today, the Colts would face Kansas City in the opening round.
Andrew Luck, QBCold12/1/2013 5:11:00 PM
Description: Indianapolis quarterback Andrew Luck threw for 200 yards with zero touchdowns and one pick Sunday against the Titans. He did add 42 points on the ground to get to 10 fantasy points.
Insight: This Colts offense is an absolute mess right now. Luck has posted just three touchdowns (two passing, one rushing) with five picks and one lost fumble over the last four games. He cannot be trusted in Week 14 at Cincinnati.
Trent Richardson, RB12/1/2013 10:07:00 AM
Description: According to Mike Silver of NFL.com, the Colts have benched Trent Richardson in favor of Donald Brown.
Insight: The Colts have fallen behind big in each of the last four games and are looking to establish a running game early in Week 13 against the Titans. Brown has gained 5.7 yards per pop this season while Richardson has struggled to pick up 3.0. Brown had 80 yards and two TDs on 14 carries in Week 11 at Tennessee and is a RB2 this week. There's no reason to hold onto Richardson at this point.
Trent Richardson, RB11/24/2013 3:10:00 PM
Description: Colts halfback Trent Richardson will play Sunday against the Cardinals.
Insight: He had been listed as questionable with a calf injury. Richardson has been a disaster since joining the Colts in late September. If you're looking to start an Indianapolis running back, Donald Brown is your best option.
Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR11/22/2013 5:08:00 PM
Description: Colts receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey (ankle) is probable for Sunday's game against Arizona.
Insight: Chuck Pagano said a minor ankle injury was the reason Heyward-Bey didn't play in the second half of Thursday's game, but it appeared the receiver was just benched for dropping another catchable pass. Healthy or not, Heyward-Bey hasn't picked up the slack left by the Reggie Wayne season-ending injury. It's been mostly T.Y. Hilton and Coby Fleener.
Trent Richardson, RB11/21/2013 8:25:00 PM
Description: Colts running back Trent Richardson was limited in practice Thursday due to a calf injury.
Insight: Richardson should be able to play Sunday, but that doesn't mean he should be in any fantasy lineups. He hasn't been able to take advantage of good matchups, so there is no reason to think he'll do anything against the Arizona Cardinals, who have one of the NFL's top run defenses.
Donald Brown, RB11/15/2013 10:18:00 AM
Description: Indianapolis running back Donald Brown appears to be the better of the two running back options in the Colts backfield.
Insight: Trent Richardson (8-for-22) just can't seem to find the holes, while Brown rushed 14 times for 80 yards and two scores last night versus Tennessee.
Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR11/15/2013 10:14:00 AM
Description: Colts wideout Darrius Heyward-Bey suffered an ankle injury which limited his activity in Thursday night's win over Tennessee.
Insight: Healthy or not, Heyward-Bey hasn't picked up the slack left by the Reggie Wayne season-ending injury. It's been mostly T.Y. Hilton and Coby Fleener.
Greg Toler, CB11/14/2013 11:16:00 AM
Description: Colts starting LCB Greg Toler will miss Thursday night's game against Tennessee with a groin injury.
Insight: Toler hasn't played since the Week 7 injury and backup Cassius Vaughn will contintue to man the position.
Andrew Luck, QB11/10/2013 6:52:00 PM
Description: Colts QB Andrew Luck was picked off three times in Sunday's loss to St. Louis.
Insight: By most accounts, it was Luck's poorest outing of the season. Still, he salvaged the day somewhat for fantasy owners by racking up 353 yards through the air. Even if most of it was obtained during garbage time, the yardage total was his highest of the season. The second-year phenom will look to get back on track Thursday night against Tennessee.
Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR11/10/2013 11:55:00 AM
Description: Colts wideout Darrius Heyward-Bey (hamstring) is active.
Insight: Heyward-Bey has been practicing all week and is ready to go. In the Colts' first game without Reggie Wayne, Heyward-Bey was expected to pick up some of the slack, but managed just one catch for 11 yards. More is required if fantasy owners are to gamble with him as a flex option.
Trent Richardson, RB11/10/2013 11:44:00 AM
Description: The inactive reports have been released and as expected, Colts running back Trent Richardson's name wasn't on it. He's starting today's game against St. Louis.
Insight: We're still waiting for Richardson to come around after averaging a paltry 41.3 rushing yards per contest in his first six games with Indianapolis. With four teams on bye, Richardson should at least carry RB2 status heading into Week 10.
Trent Richardson, RBCold11/10/2013 10:53:00 AM
Description: Colts running back Trent Richardson (ankle) is ready to go in Week 10, according to a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Insight: The real problem is that Richardson just hasn't been running very well and the team has used Donald Brown more and more. The Rams are yielding plenty of rushing yards so if Trent is going to have a good day, it ought to be this weekend.
Trent Richardson, RBCold11/8/2013 4:46:00 PM
Description: Colts running back Trent Richardson (ankle) returned to a full practice Friday. Richardson didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday.
Insight: The expected boost that came with moving from the Browns to the Colts has not occurred for Richardson, who has just 248 rushing yards, 52 receiving yards nad two touchdowns on 87 touches in six games with Indy. Even if he's healthy enough to play Sunday against the Rams, he's nothing more than a low-end flex option at this point.
Trent Richardson, RBCold11/7/2013 4:46:00 PM
Description: Colts running back Trent Richardson (ankle) missed practice Thursday but is expected to play Sunday against the Rams, according to Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star.
Trent Richardson, RBCold11/6/2013 5:13:00 PM
Description: Colts running back Trent Richardson (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, according to Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star.

Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR11/2/2013 11:07:00 AM
Description: Colts coach Chuck Pagano said that he expects Darrius Heyward-Bey (hamstring) to play Sunday night against Houston.
Insight: Heyward-Bey sat out of Friday's practice after suffering the injury during Thursday's session. While his role is expected to increase following Reggie Wayne's season-ending knee injury, Heyward-Bey is not a reliable fantasy option this week.
Trent Richardson, RBCold11/2/2013 10:49:00 AM
Description: Colts offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton spent that bye week trying to figure out how the team will proceed without Reggie Wayne and admitted he needs to do a better job of getting running back Trent Richardson the ball in space. SOURCE: ESPN.com.
Insight: Richardson's potential has convinced two teams to give up a No. 1 pick for his services, but he has rushed for just 3.0 yards per carry with a long gain of 16 yards on 75 carries during his five games with the Colts after picking up 3.5 ypc on 298 carries with the Browns. The troubling thing is that Donald Brown, Ahmad Bradshaw and Vick Ballard averaged 5.9, 4.5 and 4.8 ypc, respectively, behind the same offensive line. With Wayne out, the Colts will need more from T-Rich, so he's a nice buy-low candidate considering how diminished his trade value is at the moment.
Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR10/28/2013 5:50:00 PM
Description: Colts coach Chuck Pagano said that Darrius Heyward-Bey is "going to have to take on a bigger role, both in the classroom as far as leadership role and then on the football field," according to Mike Wells of ESPN.com.
Insight: Reggie Wayne is out for the season with a torn ACL, leaving Andrew Luck with T.Y. Hilton, Heyward-Bey and LaVon Brazill as his top-three receivers. The 26-year-old Heyward-Bey is a must-add this week, even though he's a long shot to mature into a consistent and reliable threat.
Reggie Wayne, WR10/21/2013 12:02:00 PM
Description: Colts wideout Reggie Wayne suffered a torn ACL late in Sunday night's win over the Broncos, according to Adam Schefter.
Insight: Wayne fell awkwardly to the ground after going for a poorly thrown pass. The remainder of the Colts receiving corps will have to step up - T.Y. Hilton, Darrius Heyward-Bey, LaVon Brazill and tight end Coby Fleener.
Reggie Wayne, WR10/21/2013 12:57:00 AM
Description: Colts wideout Reggie Wayne left Sunday night's game with a right knee sprain.
Insight: Wayne fell awkwardly to the ground after going for a poorly thrown pass. He walked off the field under his own power, but did not return. He had five catches for 50 yards. Fortunately, the Colts have a bye week coming up for him to recover and hopefully keep his long active streak alive.
Ricky Jean-Francois, DT10/14/2013 9:43:00 AM
Description: Indianapolis DE Ricky Jean-Francois is probable for Monday's game against San Diego. He's been dealing with a groin injury
Insight: The Colts will need all the defensive help they can get to slow down a Chargers' offense that is averaging 402 ypg and 25 ppg.
LaRon Landry, SS10/14/2013 9:40:00 AM
Description: Colts SS LaRon Landry (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 6 versus San Diego
Insight: We were expecting this as he didn't practice all week. Delano Howell will get another start. Facing a very hot Philip Rivers (three 400-yards passing days in the last four weeks), it would have been better to have everyone in the secondary healthy.
Ahmad Bradshaw, RB10/8/2013 4:18:00 PM
Description: Profootballtalk is reporting that Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) has decided to undergo surgery, and will miss the remainder of the season.
Insight: Trent Richardson is the clear-cut No. 1 option for the Colts who will use Donald Brown as his backup now that Bradshaw has joined Vick Ballard on the sidelines.
T.Y. Hilton, WR10/6/2013 6:24:00 PM
Description: Colts WR T.Y. Hilton failed to find the end zone in his first four games but he crossed the goal line twice Sunday against the Seahawks.
Insight: Hilton finished with 140 yards on five catches. Starting him will remain risky due to his lack of targets -- he had six Sunday, giving him 21 on the year.
Trent Richardson, RB10/6/2013 6:18:00 PM
Description: The move to Indianapolis hasn't done much for Trent Richardson's fantasy value.
Insight: Richardson had 56 yards rushing on 18 carries Sunday against Seattle and has rushed for 151 yards on 51 (2.96 ypc) in three games with the Colts. He did have a short touchdown in each of the first two, but Donald Brown stole that Sunday.
Ahmad Bradshaw, RB10/4/2013 2:56:00 PM
Description: Neck surgery might be in Ahmad Bradshaw's future, but for now he's out indefinitely.
Insight: According to coach Chuck Pagano, Bradshaw will decide over the next few weeks. A surgery of that nature would put an end to Bradshaw's season.
Ahmad Bradshaw, RB10/3/2013 12:16:00 PM
Description: Neck surgery might be in Ahmad Bradshaw's future.
Insight: At least that's what the Indianapolis Star is suggesting. A surgery of that nature could put an end to Bradshaw's season. Obviously, we'll need to hear more before making a fantasy recommendation but it's probably safe to assume Bradshaw won't be playing this week.
Ahmad Bradshaw, RB10/2/2013 1:48:00 PM
Description: Indianapolis halfback Ahmad Bradshaw wasn't able to practice on Wednesday and he seems like a longshot for Sunday's game against the Seahawks. SOURCE: Adam Schefter, ESPN
Insight: With Trent Richardson now as the top back in Indy, the Colts can afford to take their time with Bradshaw, who has been slow to recover from a neck injury. Even without competition for carries, Richardson won't have an easy time producing yards against Seattle's top-ranked run defense.
Reggie Wayne, WR9/29/2013 6:04:00 PM
Description: Colts wideout Reggie Wayne had his first 100-yard game of the season and also caught his second touchdown of the season Sunday against the Jaguars.
Insight: Wayne had two quiet games in a row after catching a touchdown in Week 1. The receiver averaged 12 targets per game in 2012 but he's down to 8.25 this season.
Trent Richardson, RB9/29/2013 6:02:00 PM
Description: Colts running back Trent Richardson saw 20 carries with Ahmad Bradshaw out of action Sunday against the Jaguars, but he accounted for 60 rushing yards.
Insight: Richardson did get in the end zone from one yard out, but he still isn't making any big plays on the ground. Believe it or not, the 60 yards represents a season high for T-Rich.
T.Y. Hilton, WR9/29/2013 11:48:00 AM
Description: Colts WR T.Y. Hilton will play Sunday against the Jaguars.
Insight: Hilton is dealing with a toe injury and was in a walking boot earlier this week, but he's active. Start him as a WR3 against the lowly Jags.
T.Y. Hilton, WR9/27/2013 1:38:00 PM
Description: Colts WR T.Y. Hilton was spotted in a walking boot and obviously not practicing, according to Craig Kelley of Colts.com.
Insight: Mark him down as questionable for Sunday and increase the value for Darrius Heyward-Bey who becomes the Colts deep threat if Hilton is out.
Trent Richardson, RB9/27/2013 1:30:00 PM
Description: Colts' newly-acquired running back Trent Richardson should be in line for a heavy workload with the news that Ahmad Bradshaw has been ruled out of the Week 4 game with Jacksonville.
Insight: Colts coach Chuck Pagano had expected the team's running back distribution in Week 4 to be about the same as last week, but that will change.
Ahmad Bradshaw, RB9/27/2013 1:25:00 PM
Description: Colts running back Ahmad Bradshaw, who rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries in Week 3, has been ruled out for Week 4 with a neck injury, according to ProFootballTalk.
Insight: Bradshaw missed practice all week and with Trent Richardson now on the roster, the Colts don't have to force anything with the injury-prone Bradshaw.
Trent Richardson, RB9/25/2013 7:17:00 PM
Description: Colts coach Chuck Pagano expects the team's running back distribution in Week 4 to be about the same as last week. SOURCE: Craig Kelley, Colts.com
Insight: We figured when the Colts acquired Trent Richardson in a trade with Cleveland last week that he'd wind up getting most of the carries. Instead, Ahmad Bradshaw actually had more rushing attempts than Richardson Sunday against the 49ers (19 to 13). The two appear to be locked into a timeshare which won't be particularly helpful for fantasy owners who are trying to set their lineups this week.
Trent Richardson, RB9/22/2013 7:19:00 PM
Description: Trent Richardson had 35 yards on 13 carries and a touchdown in his Colts debut Sunday against the 49ers.
Insight: ESPN's Ed Werder reported this morning that Richardson only was expected to get 10-15 touches, and that's exactly what happened. Fortunately, he saved the day for fantasy owners who started him with a one-yard touchdown.
T.Y. Hilton, WR9/22/2013 3:19:00 PM
Description: Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (groin) is active Sunday against the 49ers.
Insight: It's unclear how limited Hilton will be due to the injury, but the Colts need him to stretch the field against San Francisco's tough defense. Start him as a WR3.
Trent Richardson, RB9/22/2013 10:40:00 AM
Description: Trent Richardson is only expected to receive 10-15 touches Sunday in his Colts debut. SOURCE: Ed Werder, ESPN
Insight: He's averaged just under 21 touches a game in his first two seasons so that's a much smaller workload than Richardson and his fantasy owners are used to. He'll be a solid RB2 in the long run but this week, especially against a tough 49ers run defense, Richardson works better as a flex.
T.Y. Hilton, WR9/20/2013 2:02:00 PM
Description: Colts WR T.Y. Hilton will be a game-time decision after being limited in Wednesday and Thursday's practices and missing Friday's session, according to Indianapolis beat writer Mike Chappell.
Insight: Hilton is dealing with a groin injury. The young receiver exploded in Week 2, catching six balls for 124 yards and is a better target than starter Darrius Heyward-Bey.
Trent Richardson, RB9/19/2013 3:47:00 PM
Description: ESPN's Bob Holtzman reports that new Colts running back Trent Richardson "expects to play a lot" in his first game with the team Sunday at San Francisco.
Insight: Colts coach Chuck Pagano said Thursday that Richardson would play "as much as he can handle," which is surprising considering he was acquired from the Browns in a shocking trade on Wednesday and doesn't have much time to learn Indianapolis' playbook. Richardson will likely end up splitting time with Ahmad Bradshaw in what will be a tough matchup, but fantasy owners without a strong backup have no choice but to play him.
Trent Richardson, RB9/19/2013 2:52:00 PM
Description: Trent Richardson will play "as much as he can handle" for his new team in Week 3 against the 49ers, Colts coach Chuck Pagano said. SOURCE: Kevin Bowen, Colts.com
Insight: The Colts' shocking trade with the Browns for Richardson Wednesday may be exciting long-term but it left fantasy owners in a tough spot for Week 3. T-Rich has a terrible matchup against the 49ers and has to pick up the playbook in a short time, but it sounds like he is going to at least play often on first and second down. If you don't have a strong backup, you should roll with Richardson and hope at the very least he finds the end zone.
Trent Richardson, RB9/18/2013 6:39:00 PM
Description: In a stunning move, the Browns traded their franchise running back Trent Richardson to the Colts for a first-round pick in next year's draft. SOURCE: Adam Schefter, ESPN
Insight: Talk about going for the juggular. With Richardson in the fold, the Colts are legitimate title contenders. It's a puzzling move for the Browns to give up on Richardson less than two years after drafting him with the third overall pick. Richardson's fantasy value is murky for Week 3 given his lack of familiarity with the Colts' playbook but after a few weeks he should settle in nicely in his new home.
Dwayne Allen, TE9/18/2013 1:14:00 PM
Description: Indianapolis TE Dwayne Allen's hip injury requires season-ending surgery.
Insight: Allen's injury should help Coby Fleener, though it could also lead to the Colts using fewer two-tight end formations, which would benefit both T.Y. Hilton and Darrius Heyward-Bey.
Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR9/16/2013 4:18:00 PM
Description: Colts receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey left Sunday's game against the Dolphins with a shoulder injury and luckily the MRI came back negative.
Insight: Heyward-Bey should return to practice by the end of the week. He has done nothing to get fantasy owners excited while wideouts Reggie Wayne, T.Y. Hilton and tight end Coby Fleener are much better targets.
