A further update including a time estimate for Gasol's return will be issued at the conclusion of the examination," the Lakers said in a statement.

The 32-year-old Spaniard landed on top of Brook Lopez's foot, but with his left. Gasol was holding his right foot in pain before walking off the floor under his own power.

According to CBSSports.com, Gasol could opt for rehab, with an estimated timetable of 6-8 weeks. On the other hand, surgery would require 10-12 weeks.
