Description: Tigers left-hander Phil Coke (sore left elbow) threw out of the bullpen on Monday, but we still have no timetable for his return.
Insight: Coke hopes to be ready by the beginning of the playoffs. Even when healthy, Coke had no fantasy value this season (0-5, 5.40 ERA, 1.67 WHIP).

Description: Tigers lefty Phil Coke will not be available for Friday's game against the Chicago White Sox due to a sore left elbow.
Insight: Coke will be out for a couple of days so he'll be ready for playoff time. Even when healthy, Coke had no fantasy value this season (0-5, 5.40 ERA, 1.67 WHIP).
4/3/2013 7:16:00 PM
Description: Tigers lefty Phil Coke blew a save Wednesday against the Twins.
Insight: Coke was handed the first two save opportunities of the season but the blown save Wednesday seems to shift the competition back to square one.

Description: Tigers lefty Phil Coke tossed two scoreless innings in relief Thursday versus New York.
Insight: Coke, who has inherited the closer's role due to Jose Valverde's recent struggles, hasn't allowed a run in 7 1/3 innings this postseason. Last year during the playoffs Coke had an 8.31 ERA in five appearances.
10/15/2012 9:18:00 AM
Description: With Jose Valverde unavailable to close, Tigers manager Jim Leyland looked to lefthander Phil Coke to pitch the eighth and ninth innings Sunday against New York.
Insight: Coke allowed just one hit over his two scoreless innings. Sunday marked the second save of Coke's postseason career.

Description: Tigers pitcher Phil Coke left the game against the Tampa Bay Rays with an ankle injury, as he slipped on the grass while attempting to field a bunt. SOURCE: Yahoo Sports
Insight: Don't be surprised of Coke needs to miss at least one start.
4/27/2011 10:04:00 AM
Description: Tigers SP Phil Coke dropped to 1-4 on the season, taking the loss against Seattle yesterday. The Mariners scored 7 runs against Coke in 4 1/3 innings, on 8 hits; Coke struck out 4.
Insight: Coke has given up 15 runs in his 4 starts this year and has 14 K's against 10 walks. It is a small sample size so don't expect the Tigers to make a move yet. However, if he continues to struggle, don't be surprsied to see Detroit move him back to the bullpen.
2/26/2011 4:18:00 PM
Description: Making his first start as a member of the Tigers' rotation, Phil Coke threw two scoreless innings today.
Insight: We don't like his chances of pitching well enough to be worth owning in mixed leagues but AL-Only owners will definitely want to monitor him.
11/17/2010 3:58:00 PM
Description: Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski indicated the team will not be in the market for a starting pitcher, preferring to move Phil Coke into the rotation. SOURCE: Fox Sports
Insight: Coke is a good sleeper heading into 2011, since he will pitch a majority of his games against the weaker hitting AL Central.
9/20/2010 4:28:00 AM
Description: It wasn't a save opportunity, but Phil Coke entered with a four run lead and allowed five of the six batters he faced to get on base, blowing the entire lead.
Insight: Coke is the team's temporary closer while Jose Valverde is out but his leash is short. He might not get the next opportunity.
9/18/2010 6:56:00 PM
Description: Jose Valverde was still unavailable for today's game because of tendinitis in his elbow. SOURCE: MLB
Insight: He isn't a good option for the final two weeks because of this injury and his poor pitching in the past month. Phil Coke is filling in for him and should be active in AL-Only leagues.
