Kendry Morales has never shown this kind of production.
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) -
Kendry Morales is batting .423 over the last week and .373 over the past three weeks. Add in the power numbers - eight HRs, 32 extra base hits, 20 RBIs and an OPS of 1.256 in the last 21 days and you have the definition of a hot hitter.
Even better, he's owned in just 65% of all fantasy leagues.
For the season, Morales is batting .299 with 53 runs scored, 23 HRs, 69 RBIs, a .581 slugging percentage and an OPS of .931. Not bad for a first baseman with a preseason Average Draft Position (ADP) of 297.
This is Morales' first season as a full-time player and he's never shown this kind of production. He's batted mainly fifth or sixth in the Angels lineup and with Vladimir Guerrero and Torii Hunter out of the lineup has helped carry the team to a 17-3 record. Anaheim is averaging eight runs-a-game over the past 15 and Morales has been a big part of it along with Bobby Abreu (.373), Mike Napoli (.292) and Chone Figgins (.324).
"It's about me doing the job with an opportunity I've been given," said Morales.
As a fantasy owner if you have the opportunity to pick Morales up and start him, you should do so.
