Description: Lightning rookie winger Ondrej Palat has contributed six points (three goals) in his last three games.
Insight: Palat is in a spirited competition with teammate Tyler Johnson for second place in scoring among rookies (Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon leads the field with 51). Palat has 43 points to Johnson's 42.
Description: Hurricanes winger Jeff Skinner was extremely active Thursday against Buffalo, accounting for 13 shots on goal and one goal.
Insight: The streaky scorer has provided fantasy owners with a point in four straight games (three goals) as well as 26 SOG in that span. The 21-year-old has 26 goals, 18 assists and a career-high 224 SOG in 55 games.
Description: Penguins left wing James Neal (maintenance) missed Thursday's practice, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. His status for Saturday's game is unclear.
Insight: Chris Kunitz also sat out. Both are dealing with bumps and bruises. "We'll re-evaluate (Friday) and, hopefully, see both back with us," coach Dan Bylsma said. Neal has 22 goals, 27 assists, 43 penalty minutes, 170 shots on goal and 19 power-play points in 44 games this season.

Insight: James Neal sat out for the same reason. "We'll re-evaluate (Friday) and, hopefully, see both back with us," coach Dan Bylsma said. Kunitz collided with the goal post during Tuesday's game and hurt his leg.
Description: Sharks left wing Raffi Torres (soreness) will be a game-time decision Tuesday, according to csnbayarea.com.
Insight: Torres has picked up three goals and two assists as well as seven PIM and nine SOG in five games since he returned from a torn ACL, but fantasy owners shouldn't expect that scoring pace to continue.
Description: Ondrej Palat was involved in all three Tampa Bay goals Monday in a loss to Phoenix.
Insight: Palat (17 goals, 25 assists) scored two goals of his own and assisted on another. The six shots Palat fired on net were more than he had in his previous three games combined (four). The Lightning have now lost four straight.
Description: Penguins left wing Chris Kunitz delivered two goals in Monday's win against the Capitals.
Insight: Sidney Crosby assisted on both including the game-winner with just over seven minutes remaining in the third period. Kunitz (31 goals, 28 assists) is two points away from tying his career-high in scoring.
Description: Boston winger Daniel Paille is questionable for Wednesday's game against Montreal due to an upper body injury.
Insight: Paille was sent back into the boards by Florida's Ed Jovanovski. Paille has never scored more than 35 points in a season and this season is no different. He's got nine goals and seven assists in 57 games.
Description: Senators left wing Milan Michalek has delivered eight points in his last eight games.
Insight: Michalek (11 G, 19 A) had a goal and two assists Saturday at Winnipeg, but he's still underachieving this season after putting up 74 points in 100 games the previous two seasons. His -21 doesn't help matters.
Description: Senators left wing Clarke MacArthur will miss at least one week due to a bruised hand.
Insight: Although MacArthur had zero points in six February games he has a goal and an assist in three March games. His 44-point total in 60 games is good enough for fourth best on the Ottawa roster. Kyle Turris and Bobby Ryan will have to find another winger for the next few games, likely Mike Hoffman or Colin Greening.
Description: Detroit left wing Johan Franzen had a monster game Friday against New Jersey.
Insight: Franzen potted two goals to go along with two assists as the Red Wings torched the Devils for seven goals on 33 shots. The veteran now has ten points in his last five appearances. We'll see if he can add to that Sunday against the Rangers.
Description: Rangers winger Mats Zuccarello will be a game-time decision on Friday against Carolina. SOURCE: Bergen Record.
Insight: Zuccarello (15 goals, 28 assists in 58 contests) injured his hand while representing Norway at the Sochi Olympics. He had been on a six-game point streak prior to getting hurt and has missed the past four games.
Description: The Islanders have traded Thomas Vanek to the Montreal Canadiens, according to Arthur Staple of Newsday.
Insight: Vanek (21 goals, 32 assists) was not going to re-sign with the Islanders after the season so the team was forced to trade him. His fantasy value doesn't change much, though it will be good for him to play for a team with playoff aspirations.
Description: The Sabres have dealt Matt Moulson to the Minnesota Wild along with Cody McCormick for Torrey Mitchell and draft picks. SOURCE: Buffalo News
Insight: Moulson will be a free agent after the season. The 30-year-old has 38 points in 55 games this season, including 29 in 44 games since joining the Sabres from the Islanders in the Thomas Vanek trade. It's unclear who Moulson will skate with, but he'll certainly be in a better fantasy situation than before.
Description: The Canucks have placed winger Daniel Sedin (lower body) on injured reserve. He's out indefinitely, according to tsn.ca.
Insight: Sedin was hit into the boards by Ottawa's Marc Methot and appeared to be favoring his knee during Sunday's game. Sedin has been ice cold since early January, posting just one point in his last 17 games, and now he may miss the rest of the season.
Description: The Capitals have traded winger Martin Erat and prospect John Mitchelle to Phoenix for defenseman Rostislav Klesla, prospect Chris Brown and a fourth-round pick in 2015, according to Katie Carrera of the Washington Post.
Insight: Erat has skated just 14:44 per game this season and produced one goal, 23 assists and 46 SOG in 53 games for the Caps. His fantasy value can only improve through the trade, but that doesn't mean he'll be a fantasy option.
Description: The Bruins and Ducks are both in on Islanders left wing Thomas Vanek, who is expected to be dealt before tomorrow's trade deadline. SOURCE: David Pagnotta, TheFourthPeriod.com
Insight: With no guarantee that Vanek (21 goals, 32 assists) will re-sign as a free agent this summer, it makes sense for the Islanders to deal him now so they can at least get something in return. Boston acquired Jaromir Jagr at the trade deadline last season and could make another big splash at this year's deadline. Acquiring Vanek would certainly qualify.
Description: The Ducks traded Dustin Penner to the Washington Capitals Tuesday. Anaheim got back a fourth-round draft pick.
Insight: Penner had 21 points (nine goals), a +17 rating and 51 SOG his first 22 games this season, but he only put up 11 points, a +5 and 49 SOG in his last 27. He's unlikely to gain more fantasy value with Washington, as he was skating with Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf in Anaheim, unless the Caps give him power-play time.
Description: Canucks coach John Tortorella said winger Daniel Sedin (leg) "will be out for a while," according to the Canucks on Twitter.
Insight: Sedin was hit into the boards by Ottawa's Marc Methot and appeared to be favoring his knee during Sunday's game. As usual, Tortorella refused to get into the specifics of the injury. Sedin has been ice cold since early January, posting just one point in his last 17 games.
Description: Bruins left wing Loui Eriksson will not play Tuesday, according to Joe Haggerty of csnne.com.
Insight: Coach Claude Julien said that Eriksson is dealing with a "minor issue" and should be back Thursday. The trade deadline is Wednesday, so Boston may be holding the 28-year-old out for a potential deal.
Description: Buffalo left wing Tyler Ennis (soreness) is probable for Monday's game against Dallas.
Insight: Ennis had picked up 14 points in his last 15 games but missed the last two due to "general body soreness." He has 14 goals and 30 points in 58 games this season and is a solid offensive weapon, but his -12 rating does hurts his fantasy value.
Description: Islanders left wing Thomas Vanek had two goals and an assist Sunday against the Panthers.
Insight: Vanek has recorded four points the last two games despite playing without John Tavares, who is out for the season with a knee injury. The 30-year-old will be a free agent at the end of the season and likely will be traded before the deadline.
Description: Canucks winger Daniel Sedin left Sunday's game in the second period with a left leg injury and won't return, according to nhl.com.
Insight: Sedin was hit into the boards by Ottawa's Marc Methot and appeared to be favoring his knee. The winger has been ice cold since early January, posting just one point in his last 17 games. A long-term injury for Sedin may lead to the Canucks trading Ryan Kesler before the deadline.
Description: Canadiens left wing Max Pacioretty was at it again Saturday versus the Maple Leafs.
Insight: Pacioretty registered two goals including the game-winner with 1:32 left in overtime. Both tallies were assisted by Andrei Markov. Saturday was the fourth time this season Pacioretty (29 goals, 12 assists) has fired at least eight shots on net.
Description: Islanders winger Matt Martin is questionable for Saturday's game against the New Jersey due to a lower body injury.
Insight: Martin was back at practice and could return for Saturday's game, but more likely will miss one more contest. His absence from the lineup shouldn't affect any fantasy teams as he's totaled just eight points in 60 games with a -9 rating. He has accumulated 95 SOG and 74 PIM.
Description: Buffalo left wing Tyler Ennis (soreness) did not play Friday, as expected.
Insight: Ennis has picked up 14 points in his last 15 games but missed the last two due to "general body soreness." He has 14 goals and 30 points in 58 games this season and is a solid offensive weapon, but his -12 rating hurts his fantasy value.
