Insight: Pacioretty gave Montreal a 2-1 lead in the second period and then an insurance goal to make it, 3-1. The Canadiens added another score to win, 4-1. Pacioretty has 10 goals and eight assists this season.
Description: Canadiens Dustin Tokarski captured his second win of the season on Wednesday against the Sabres.
Insight: Tokarski stopped 31 shots on 32 opportunities, which, ironically, was the same amount Sabres goaltender Michal Neuvirth saved. Tokarski was able to stopped 2-out-3 in the shootout as Montreal won, 2-1.
Description: Canadiens goaltender Carey Price carried Montreal to victory against the Flames on Tuesday.
Insight: Price stopped 37-of-38 shots for a .974 save percentage while the Canadiens mustered only 10 shots on goal even including overtime. Montreal, however, scored the lone shoot out goal and won, 2-1.
Description: Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban scored two goals on three shots against the Avalanche on Saturday.
Insight: He also contributed two hits and two penalty minutes. Subban's first goal was a slap shot on the power play to tie the score at one at the beginning of the second period. To cap off three straight goals, Subban scored on a wrister at the 17:59 mark of the second.
Description: Canadiens goaltender Carey Price was pulled after giving up four goals to Tampa Bay.
Insight: He had 19 saves on 23 shots, and was taken out after the second period. Dustin Tokarski took over, and did not fare much better, as he gave up three goals on 11 shots. This is just a hiccup for Price, who is still an elite option in net.
Description: Canadiens coach Michel Therrien has relieved Tomas Plekanec of some of his defensive duties, which is paying dividends at the offensive end according to the Montreal Gazette.
Insight: Plekanec had been the first center option for the penalty kill, but Manny Malhotra is healthy and has taken over that role. That allows Plekanec to be much more offensive. He has three goals, seven shots on net and a plus-two rating in the first two games this season.
Description: Canadiens goaltender Carey Price will return to the ice on Saturday against the Flyers.
Insight: Price won the season opener on Wednesday against the Maple Leafs, but he got the night off Thursday in Washington. Backup goalie Dustin Tokarski won that game. Price should return to your starting fantasy lineup on Saturday.
Description: Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban scored a goal on five shots and had a plus-one rating against the Maple Leafs on Wednesday.
Insight: Playing overly aggressive defense, Toronto left Subban wide open in the slot, and the defenseman capitalized, scoring the third goal of the game for Montreal. Subban had over 25 minutes of ice time, including over three minutes on the power play and nearly two minutes on the penalty kill.
Description: Montreal goaltender Carey Price had a rocky outing in his first regular season start since his injury last May.
Insight: Price gave up three goals on 27 shots on Wednesday against the Maple Leafs. Montreal was nursing a 3-2 lead with less than four minnutes to go when he failed to cover a puck in the crease, which eventually found the back of the net. The Canadiens ended up scoring in the final minute of regulation to win, 4-3.
Description: Canadiens center Tomas Plekanec scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, against the Maple Leafs on opening night.
Insight: Plekanec scored to tie the game early in the second period and then scored the game-winner with less than a minute to go in the third period. Plekanec also had five shots on goal, won 10 faceoffs and finished with a plus-one.
Description: Canadiens Dustin Tokarski is expected to start on Thursday.
Insight: Montreal plays back-to-back days to start the season, and the team does not want Carey Price to play in consecutive games to begin the year. Tokarski played well in the Eastern Conference Finals last spring against the Rangers.
Description: Montreal center Tomas Plekanec should be in line for another 20-goal season.
Insight: He finished last season with 20 goals and 23 assists, combined with a +11 rating. While he will probably not reach the 70-point mark ever again, Plekanec should still be targeted around the 14th round of your drafts.
Description: Montreal right wing Brendan Gallagher is coming off a career-high 41 points.
Insight: He had 19 goals and 22 assists, and is just 22-years-old. Gallagher should continue to improve, as he plays on Montreal's top line. His current 14th round value, could turn into a steal of a pick.
Description: Montreal goaltender Carey Price told the Montreal Gazette skating is "going pretty good so far."
Insight: Price stayed in Montreal until the end of June to rehabiliate his sprained knee. Rangers winger Chris Kreider crashed into Price's leg in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The goaltender missed the rest of the series but should be ready for training camp.
Description: Montreal netminder Carey Price won't need surgery for the knee injury he suffered against the Rangers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. SOURCE: Associated Press
Insight: It's fair to wonder how the series, which the Rangers won in six games, would have played out had Price been healthy. Either way, it sounds like he should be fine for the start of next season.
Description: Canadiens left wing Brandon Prust will serve a two-game suspension for his hit on Derek Stepan Thursday in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals. SOURCE: NHL.com
Insight: Stepan broke his jaw on the play. Prust (two assists in 12 playoff appearances) is getting off easy with only a two-game ban. He'll be eligible to return for Game 6, assuming the Rangers don't win the next two to close out the series.
Description: Dustin Tokarski will start a second straight game Wednesday against the Rangers.
Insight: Tokarski started Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals after Carey Price suffered a knee injury in Game 1 that will keep him out the rest of the series. The 24-year-old allowed three goals on 30 shots in the Game 2 loss.
Description: Canadiens center Alex Galchenyuk, who suffered a right knee injury, has been cleared for contact, but no word on when he might return to the ice.
Insight: Galchenyuk could return sometime in the series with the Rangers. He produced 13 goals and 18 assists in 65 games with a -12 rating, though he had a better rookie season - nine goals, 18 assists and a +14 rating in 48 games.
Description: Montreal goalie Carey Price outdueled Tuukka Rask in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals Wednesday night to get the Canadiens to the Conference Finals for the first time since 2010.

Description: Montreal left wing Max Pacioretty picked up two points in Monday night's win over Boston.
Insight: His second period goal came on a miscommunication between Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara and goalie Tuukka Rask. Pacioretty now has six points (two goals, four assists) in ten games this postseason.
Description: Thomas Vanek paced Montreal with two goals Saturday in a loss to Boston.
Insight: Vanek had just one goal in the first round so this was easily his best game of the playoffs. Unfortunately it may have been his team's worst as the Canadiens fell for the first time this postseason. Both of Vanek's goals on Saturday came on the power play.
Description: Montreal winger Travis Moen has been cleared and is probable for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals Thursday against Boston.
Insight: Moen didn't play in the first round due to a concussion. He isn't much of a scorer with 12 points in 65 regular season games, and doesn't add much elsewhere so fantasy owners should ignore him.
Description: Canadiens center Lars Eller (illness) will play in Game 1 of the playoffs, according to the Montreal Gazette.
Insight: Eller missed the last three games of the regular season and finished with just 26 points (12 goals) and a -15 rating in 77 games. The 24-year-old is hoping to have a better postseason than he did last year, when he suffered a concussion and a broken nose on a devastating hit in the playoff opener against Ottawa.
Description: Montreal netminder Carey Price rebounded from Thursday's loss by beating the Rangers 1-0 on Saturday.
Insight: Price produced 41 saves in the victory. The Canadiens finished the regular season with 100 points, their highest point total since 2008. It looks like they'll open against Tampa Bay in the first round of the playoffs.
Description: Montreal defenseman Andrei Markov will get the night off to rest Wednesday against the Blackhawks. It will be his first absence of the season. SOURCE: Montreal Gazette
Insight: The Canadiens have already locked up a playoff spot and unless something drastic happens, they're going to have home ice for the first round. It's possible Markov (seven goals, 36 assists) could be back in the lineup Thursday against the Islanders.
Description: Montreal left wing Max Pacioretty continued his epic season with another two-goal game Saturday against Florida.
Insight: He's netted five goals during the team's current five-game winning streak. Pacioretty now has 35 goals for the season, the most by a Canadien since Erik Cole had that many during the 2011-12 campaign. No Montreal player has scored 40 goals in a season since 1994 (Vincent Damphousse).
Description: Canadiens left wing Max Pacioretty scored his sixth goal of March Thursday against the Red Wings.
Insight: Pacioretty has scored at least six goals in all four of the full months this season (he had two over five games in October and four over seven games in February). In 66 games this season, the 25-year-old has 33 goals, tying a career high.
Description: Canadiens goalie Carey Price was automatic in Tuesday's win over Buffalo.
Insight: He saved all 24 shots for his fifth shutout of the season. Before Tuesday, Price had allowed three goals or more in four consecutive outings. Montreal has won six of its last seven while the Sabres have now dropped nine out of ten.
Description: The Islanders have traded Thomas Vanek to the Montreal Canadiens, according to Arthur Staple of Newsday.
Insight: Vanek (21 goals, 32 assists) was not going to re-sign with the Islanders after the season so the team was forced to trade him. His fantasy value doesn't change much, though it will be good for him to play for a team with playoff aspirations.
Description: The Canadiens have grabbed goalie Devan Dubnyk from the Predators for future considerations, according to Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.com. UPDATE: Dubnyk has been sent to the AHL.
Insight: The move is a sign that Carey Price isn't ready to return and won't be for at least a few games. Dubnyk, the former starter in Edmonton, played just two games with the Predators after being traded in mid-January and allowed nine goals on 60 shots. The Canadiens will keep Dustin Tokarski to back up Peter Budaj until Price returns.
Description: Canadiens goalie Carey Price will miss his fourth straight game Monday night, according to John Lu of tsn.ca.
Insight: Price suffered a lower-body injury during the Sochi Olympics and was placed on injured reserve, retroactive to Feb. 26, on Monday. Peter Budaj will start at Los Angeles after winning the last two games for Montreal.
Description: Canadiens left wing Max Pacioretty was at it again Saturday versus the Maple Leafs.
Insight: Pacioretty registered two goals including the game-winner with 1:32 left in overtime. Both tallies were assisted by Andrei Markov. Saturday was the fourth time this season Pacioretty (29 goals, 12 assists) has fired at least eight shots on net.
Description: Montreal winger Michael Bournival is on injured reserve due to a concussion.
Insight: Bournival has not been very productive with six goals, 13 points and 70 SOG in 50 games this season. The primary culprit is ice time - he doesn't get much (10:20 per game). There is no timetable for his return.
Description: Canadiens goalie Carey Price will be sidelined for at least two more games while he recovers from a lower-body injury he suffered during the Sochi Olympics. SOURCE: Canadiens on Twitter
Insight: The Olympics were absolutely brutal to fantasy owners in 2014. At least Price can sleep easier knowing he helped his country win a gold medal. Backup Peter Budaj will start in net Wednesday versus the Red Wings.
Description: Montreal left wing Max Pacioretty (back spasms) will fly to Sochi Sunday for the Olympics, according to Dave Stubbs of the Montreal Gazette.
Insight: During a rush to the net Saturday night, Hurricanes defenseman Brett Bellemore checked Pacioretty off his feet and into a goal post, causing him to leave the game. Pacioretty will play for Team USA in the Olympics.
Description: Montreal center David Desharnais scored a pair of goals Saturday at Carolina.
Insight: Desharnais has been good for five points in his last three games. After coming up with one point in his first 19 games, Desharnais will go into the Olympic break with 32 points (11 goals) in 56 games this season.
Description: Montreal left wing Max Pacioretty earned his third career hat trick Thursday in a victory over Vancouver.
Insight: Pacioretty set an NHL record by taking two penalty shots in the same period. Strangely enough, he missed them both. Despite the two misses, fantasy owners don't have much to complain about after this dominant outing.
Description: Canadiens goaltender Carey Price made 27 saves in a shutout of the Calgary Flames Tuesday night.
Insight: After allowing four goals or more in five straight starts and eight of 11, Price has rebounded by allowing just four goals on 134 SOG (.970 SV%) over his last four starts with two shutouts in that span.
Description: Montreal right winger Brendan Gallagher has recorded two consecutive two-point games.
Insight: Gallagher has generated seven points (three goals) in his last seven games after picking up two assists Thursday at Boston. The second-year forward has 28 points in 53 games, behind his rookie pace of 28 points in 44 games despite seeing more than two minutes more per game this season.
Description: Montreal center David Desharnais sat out Tuesday's game because of the flu. SOURCE: Montreal Gazette
Insight: He was a late scratch. Luckily for Desharnais, the Canadiens don't play on Wednesday so he'll have a day to rest up before Thursday's game in Ottawa. So far, Desharnais has produced 21 points (six goals, 15 assists) in 44 games this season.
Description: Montreal right wing George Parros hasn't played since mid Dececember after suffering a concussion, but was cleared for contact this week and is questionable for Saturday's game against Chicago.
Insight: Parros' fantasy value is not as a scorer, but with the penalty minutes he accumulates each season. From 2005-10 he averaged 144 PIM per season. He's got 42 PIM in nine games this season - and zero points.
Description: Habs center Danny Briere had a hand in all three of his team's goals Saturday in a loss to Ottawa.
Insight: Briere scored Montreal's first two goals before assisting on the final one. He's had a quiet season so far with just seven goals and six assists in 30 appearances. Maybe Saturday's strong performance will get him going again.
Description: Montreal center Tomas Plekanec scored a goal Saturday at Tampa Bay for the second straight game.
Insight: Due to the Christmas break, Saturday was Montreal's first game since last Saturday at Nashville. Prior to scoring in two straight, Plekanec had not registered a point in his last six games. The 31-year-old has 13 goals, 24 points and 105 SOG in 39 games.
