Description: Brewers right-hander Jimmy Nelson was sen to the Florida State league.
Insight: It's just a temporary thing, he'll be back up Sept 1. The young right-hander is 2-5 with a 4.10 ERA and a high 1.35 WHIP in nine starts.

Description: Brewers right-hander Jimmy Nelson's next start has been pushed back from Saturday to Tuesday due to a blister.
Insight: Kyle Lohse will start Saturday and Matt Garza will go Sunday. Nelson, the Brewers' top prospect, is 1-2 with a 4.30 ERA, a 1.30 WHIP and 22 Ks in 23 innings so far.

Description: Brewers right-hander Jimmy Nelson allowed two runs on five hits and struck out six in seven innings Sunday against the Mets.
Insight: Nelson is the Brewers' top prospect. He's been very good in three of his four starts this season but got bombed in the other and holds a 4.30 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP in 23 innings. Nelson had a 1.46 ERA and 114 Ks over 111 innings in the hitter-friendly PCL, so he's worth a look in most leagues.

Description: Top Milwaukee prospect Jimmy Nelson has been recalled and will start on Saturday.
Insight: He's replacing Marco Estrada who has been sent to the bullpen. Nelson has pitched very well for Triple-A Nashville (10-2, 1.459 ERA, .919 WHIP and 114 Ks in 111 IP). Minor league success doesn't always translate to the majors, but he has all the tools.

5/25/2014 10:29:00 AM
Description: Jimmy Nelson will make his second major league start Sunday against the Marlins.
Insight: He's filling in for Yovani Gallardo who had his turn skipped because of an ankle injury. Nelson has pitched well for Triple-A Nashville (5-1, 1.71 ERA in nine starts) but as we all know, that doesn't guarantee success at the major league level.

6/17/2013 3:57:00 PM
Description: The Brewers have a young pitcher who has spent most of this season at Double-A Huntsville, Jimmy Nelson, worth keeping an eye on for a late season or future call up.
Insight: The 24-year-old right-hander was just 5-4, but with a stolid 2.74 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and a 72/15 strikeout-to-walk ratio. He's since been pushed up to Triple-A Nashville (PCL) for his last two starts where he has struggled a bit with his control.
