Madison Bumgarner, SP, SFGHot10/1/2014 10:39:00 AM
Description: Giants starter Madison Bumgarner will likely not be rattled in the NL Wild Card game like Johnny Cueto was a season ago. Insight: Bumgarner is one of the most poised 25-year-old pitchers there is in the game and there certainly isn\'t one more fiery. Just about a week ago, he basically challenged headcase Yasiel Puig to a fight. San Francisco didn\'t have many choices as to who to start for this game, but they have the right guy on the mound.
Edinson Volquez, SP, PIT10/1/2014 10:34:00 AM
Description: Pirates starter Edinson Volquez is 9-1 with a 1.85 ERA in his last 17 starts going into his NL Wild Card game start on Wednesday. Insight: Volquez has also allowed just four earned runs in his last 34 2/3 innings at home. In his last two starts, each lasting seven innings, he did not yield a single run. Experts can second guess the Pirates rotation strategy this week all they want, but Pittsburgh has a hot pitcher on the mound, in front of an electric crowd at home, and with the support of one of the hottest offenses in September.

 Jameer Nelson, G, ORL9/30/2014 9:24:00 PM
Description: Mavericks guard Jameer Nelson looks like he has a slight edge over Raymond Felton and Devin Harris for the starting point guard role according to ESPN Dallas. Insight: Felton is suspended for the first four games of the season and Harris is likely better as a player coming off the bench, so Nelson sort of wins the job by default. Either way, he is worth a look for fantasy owners in the late rounds.
 Solomon Hill, F, IND9/30/2014 9:20:00 PM
Description: Pacers\' Solomon Hill joined George Hill, Rodney Stuckley, David West and Roy Hibbert on the floor for a portion of Tuesday\'s practice according to Scott Agness of VigilantSports.com. Insight: The biggest reason for why Hill was out with the starters in practice Tuesday is probably because C.J. Miles was out with a calf injury. Hill does have sleeper potential as he shot 39 percent from 3-point land the last two years at Arizona, but he is still only fantasy relavant in very deep leagues.

 Kris Letang, D, PIT10/1/2014 11:40:00 AM
Description: Penguins defenseman Kris Letang will be back at full strength in 2014-2015. Insight: Letang missed significant time last season after suffering a stroke in January, but he returned for the playoffs. Letang is one of the best offensive defenseman in the league, and even with the addition of Christian Ehrhoff, who could take some time away from Letang on the power play, Letang is a top-15 defenseman.
Chris Kunitz, LW, PIT10/1/2014 11:36:00 AM
Description: Penguins left wing Chris Kunitz scored a career-high 35 goals and 68 points last season. Insight: Kunitz has averaged 0.81 points per game in his five-plus seasons with the Penguins. It is hard to assume those numbers will again go up this year, but even at 35 years old, Kunitz has shown no signs of slowing down.
