For The Last 365 Days

Sami Vatanen, D10/20/2014 12:32:00 PM
Description: Anaheim defenseman Sami Vatanen scored twice to earn the No. 1 star in Sunday's 3-0 win over St. Louis.
Insight: Vatanen's got five points this season, all of them on the power play. As long as he stays out there in man-advantage situations he will be a solid fantasy option.
Frederik Andersen, G10/18/2014 9:24:00 AM
Description: Ducks goaltender Frederik Andersen stopped 27-of-28 shots and earned the victory on Friday against the Wild.
Insight: Andersen is off to a fantastic start, as he is now 4-0-0 with a 1.72 goals against average, along with a .937 save percentage. Owners who took the chance on him, have it paying off tremendously, early on.
Corey Perry, RW10/18/2014 9:20:00 AM
Description: Ducks winger Corey Perry continued his hot start to the season Friday against Minnesota.
Insight: He scored a goal and was +1 on the night, and now has five goals and seven points through five games. There is no reason to think that Perry is going to slow dowm, as it is looking like he is well on his way to a monster season.
Matt Beleskey, LWHot10/16/2014 2:44:00 PM
Description: Anaheim Ducks winger Matt Beleskey has three goals in his last three games
Insight: Beleskey is playing on the top line with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry and fantasy owners should take advantage of this opportunity because it won't last long. on. Dany Heatley could return in about a week and re-take his spot on the top line.
Patrick Maroon, LW10/16/2014 2:40:00 PM
Description: Winger Patrick Maroon is expected to miss four weeks due to a sprained MCL.
Insight: Maroon (three points in three games) was taking the place of the injured Dany Heatley, who is out with a groin injury, and playing on the top line with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry.
Frederik Andersen, G10/14/2014 10:03:00 PM
Description: Ducks goaltender Frederik Andersen stopped 39-of-42 shots against the Flyers on Tuesday.
Insight: Anaheim is splitting time between Andersen and fellow goaltender John Gibson to start the season. Gibson had a couple qustionable starts, so it is nice to see Andersen play well. He posted a .929 save percentage on Tuesday.
Patrick Maroon, LW10/14/2014 1:56:00 PM
Description: Winger Patrick Maroon is not expected to play Tuesday due to an injury suffered in Monday's contest.
Insight: Maroon was taking the place of the injured Dany Heatley, who is out with a groin injury, and playing on the top line with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry.
Matt Beleskey, LW10/14/2014 1:54:00 PM
Description: Anaheim Ducks winger Matt Beleskey will play on the top line ... temporarily.
Insight: Beleskey is only there because of injuries to Dany Heatley and Patrick Maroon. It could give a short-term boost, but don't overvalue him in the long-term.
Corey Perry, RW10/13/2014 7:09:00 PM
Description: Ducks winger Corey Perry notched his fourth goal of the season.
Insight: Through three games, Perry is off to a fantastic start. He registered four shots on goal Monday afternoon, and now has five points on the season.
Ryan Getzlaf, C10/12/2014 12:28:00 AM
Description: Ryan Getzlaf was a huge force on offense Saturday night, taking seven shots and scoring twice.
Insight: It was his first goals of the season, including the game-winner coming with 24 seconds left. We're expecting huge numbers again this season after 87 points in 2013-14.
Sami Vatanen, D10/11/2014 11:04:00 AM
Description: Anaheim defenseman Sami Vatanen ran the point on the potent Ducks power play on Thursday night.
Insight: The Ducks scored three times on the power play against the Pittsburgh Penguins and Vatanen earned assists on two of them. Anaheim went with four forwards and just Vatanen as the one defenseman on the man advantage. Vatanen's fantasy value is through the roof if he remains with this unit.
Ryan Kesler, C10/9/2014 10:12:00 PM
Description: Ducks center Ryan Kesler had two assists in his Anaheim debut in Pittsburgh on Thursday.
Insight: Kesler played over four minutes on the power play, which is certainly encouraging for his fantasy owners. Both of his assists came with the man advantage. Kesler's fantasy value greatly rises if he can continue to play with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry on the power play.
Corey Perry, RW10/9/2014 10:05:00 PM
Description: Ducks winger Corey Perry registered his sixth-career hat trick as the Ducks lost to the Penguins, 6-4, on Thursday.

Fleury left his crease to play the puck and turned it over to Ducks' Patrick Maroon, who then found Perry wide open in front of the net. Perry also scored twice on the power play. Despite the three points, he finished with a minus-one rating.
Cam Fowler, D10/9/2014 4:08:00 PM
Description: Ducks defenseman Cam Fowler (leg) has received medical clearance to play, but is likely still a game-time decision.

Cam Fowler, D10/7/2014 1:28:00 PM
Description: Ducks defenseman Cam Fowler (leg) was on the ice yesterday and is questionable for Thursday's game against Pittsburgh.
Insight: Fowler (6 G, 30 A) should be back sometime on the Ducks four-game road trip, but it may not be for the opener.
Patrick Maroon, LW9/29/2014 6:00:00 PM
Description: Winger Patrick Maroon is practicing on the first line with center Ryan Getzlaf and winger Corey Perry.
Insight: Maroon is taking the place of the injured Dany Heatley, who is out with a groin injury. Maroon is a player worth keeping an eye on because there is no timetable for Heatley's return. If Maroon plays well, he may even stay on the first line when Heatley does return.
Saku Koivu, C9/20/2014 2:05:00 PM
Description: Ducks center Saku Koivu retired last week ending his career after 18 seasons with Montreal and Anaheim.
Insight: Koivu was never a superstar fantasy value, but he did have two 70-plus points seasons and finished his career with 255 goals and 577 assists.
Kyle Palmieri, C9/20/2014 1:58:00 PM
Description: Ducks right wing Kyle Palmieri suffered a high ankle sprain to his right leg and is expected to miss about two weeks.
Insight: That timetable would return him to the lineup just around opening day. He had 14 goals and 17 assists in 71 games last season - not everyday start-worthy, but a nice fill-in option for fantasy owners.
Shea Theodore, D9/20/2014 1:54:00 PM
Description: Anaheim defensive prospect Shea Theodore will miss 4-6 weeks due to an ulnar collateral ligament sprain in his right elbow.
Insight: Theodore put up huge numbers in the WHL last season (22 goals, 57 assists) and had an outside shot at making the opening day roster, but this will end that hope.
Ryan Kesler, C6/27/2014 9:21:00 PM
Description: Anaheim has acquired center Ryan Kesler from the Canucks. SOURCE: Pierre LeBrun, ESPN

John Gibson, GHot5/13/2014 5:13:00 PM

John Gibson, G5/10/2014 9:17:00 PM
Description: The Anaheim Ducks are starting 20-year-old John Gibson in net at Los Angeles in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals Saturday night after Frederik Andersen suffered a lower-body injury in Game 3.
Insight: The Ducks lost all confidence in Jonas Hiller after he was shelled in March and April. Gibson was the top North American goalie available in the 2011 NHL Draft and was selected 39th overall by Anaheim. He had a .919 SV% in the regular season and a .955 SV% in the postseason for Norfolk of the AHL this season, and now he'll be thrown into the fire of the Stanley Cup Playoffs with the Ducks down 2-1.

Ryan Getzlaf, C5/4/2014 9:32:00 AM
Description: Ryan Getzlaf assisted on both Anaheim goals Saturday in an overtime loss to Los Angeles.
Insight: He saw almost 26 minutes of action, the most he's played since March 28th against Edmonton. That's impressive considering the gruesome facial injury Getzlaf suffered in the first round versus Dallas. He now has nine points (three goals, six assists) in six postseason appearances in 2014.
Ryan Getzlaf, C4/25/2014 1:52:00 PM
Description: Anaheim center Ryan Getzlaf (upper body) missed Game 4 of the Western Conference quarterfinals against the Stars on Wednesday, but skated with the first line in Friday's practice.
Insight: Dallas won Game 4 to tie the series 2-2 and Anaheim certainly needs Getzlaf back. The 28-year-old center had 87 points this season, second-most in the NHL. We're now leaning toward expecting him to be on the line with Corey Perry and Nick Bonino tonight.

Description: Anaheim Ducks forward Matt Beleskey is questionable for Game 3 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals Monday against Dallas.

Description: The Ducks will go with Frederik Andersen in Game 1 of the playoffs against the Stars Wednesday night, according to Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register.

Jonas Hiller, GHot1/26/2014 3:36:00 PM
Description: Ducks goaltender Jonas Hiller has gone 15-2-0 with a 2.02 GAA and a .922 SV% over his last 17 games.

Viktor Fasth, G1/17/2014 9:48:00 AM
Description: Anaheim goalie Victor Fasth's 3-to-4 week lower body injury is now in week No. 8 with no word of a comeback.

Jonas Hiller, GHot1/16/2014 8:41:00 PM

Description: Anaheim center Ryan Getzlaf will make his return from a foot injury Wednesday against Vancouver. SOURCE: Orange County Register

Sheldon Souray, D1/14/2014 1:33:00 PM
