And Greg Smith had 18 points and 19 rebounds Wednesday night, but he's averaging 6.0 ppg and 6.1 rpg in 16.5 mpg this month. It doesn't look like fantasy owners can trust any Rockets power forward.

Meanwhile, Marcus Morris has played more than 20 minutes just once in his last eight contests. Morris' presence limits the value of both players but it appears that Patterson at least has moved ahead of Morris in the PF timeshare.
Description: Houston guard James Harden poured in a game-high 36 points Wednesday against the Heat. He also collected a season-best 12 rebounds in 40 minutes of action.
Insight: Harden (25.8 ppg, fifth in the NBA) continues to draw fouls like nobody's business (12-of-13 from the line Wednesday) while drilling tons of three-pointers (8-of-13 from long range in his last two games). Wednesday was Harden's third double-digit rebounding game of the season.
Description: Houston guard Jeremy Lin's rolled ankle didn't hold him back at all Tuesday against Golden State. Lin scored 28 points with nine assists, one steal and five triples.
Insight: Lin still struggles with inconsistency but he has been much better since mid-December. Prior to Tuesday, Lin was averaging 13.3 points, 6.3 assists and 2.2 steals in his last 26 games. He produced just 10.8 points in his first 23 games.

Description: Rookie forward Royce White has officially been reinstated by the Rockets. He'll join Rio Grande of the NBA Development League on February 11th.
Insight: White was suspended earlier this month after refusing his assignment to the D-League and ranting on Twitter about the Rockets' perceived mishandling of his mental illness. We're not sure what to expect from White or if we'll even see him in the NBA this season but this is at least a step in the right direction.
Description: Houston guard James Harden had a better shooting night Wednesday against the Nuggets, going 8-of-17 from the field (2-6 3PT, 5-5 FT) for 23 points with seven assists, three rebounds and one steal but he also turned the ball over seven times.
Insight: Harden came in having made a pitiful 28-of-100 from the field (4-of-27 3PT) over his last five games but still averaged 21.4 ppg in that span because he made 45-of-54 from the foul line. While we'd like to see fewer turnovers from Harden (3.9 per game), he more than makes up for it in other areas.
Description: According to the Houston Chronicle, forward Royce White is close to returning to the Rockets. White was suspended earlier in the month for refusing to report to the team's D-League affiliate in Rio Grande.
Insight: White is expected to start in the D-League so he won't have fantasy relevance right away.
Description: Rockets backup center Greg Smith is questionable for Wednesday's game against Denver as his wife just gave birth to a baby.
Insight: Smith isn't fantasy worthy, averaging 5.8 ppg and 4.4 rpg, but his absence will add more minutes to Omer Asik who has been very good this season averaging 10.3 ppg, 11.0 rpg.
Description: Houston guard Jeremy Lin has gone ice cold. He's shot just 4-for-17 from the field (23.5 percent) over his last two games.
Insight: Kevin McHale raised a few eyebrows by benching Lin for the start of the second half Saturday against Minnesota. Monday Lin played even worse, contributing only four points in 24 minutes of action. Backup Patrick Beverley (6.0 ppg) could begin to see more minutes if Lin's struggles continue.
Description: Houston guard James Harden's shooting slump continued on Monday (5-for-20 from the field) but he was still able to score 29 points because of his success from the free throw line (19-of-21).
Insight: Harden is an embarrassing 0-for-12 from the three-point line in his last two games. Shooting woes aside, Harden still managed to reward fantasy owners with a team-high seven rebounds and seven assists on Monday.
Description: Rockets guard James Harden had another tough outing Saturday against the Timberwolves. He finished with 18 points but was only 5-of-18 from the field including a pitiful 0-for-7 from three-point distance.
Insight: He's shot just 37.5 percent (51-for-136) during Houston's seven-game losing streak. Harden will snap out of this slump sooner or later so fantasy owners don't need to panic.
Description: Houston swingman Carlos Delfino scored 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting with five assists, three rebounds, two steals and three treys Friday against Indiana.
Insight: Delfino has made 2.4 threes per game over his last 25 games. He's also averaging 10.1 points, 2.4 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game, numbers that make him a worthwhile add in fantasy leagues.
Description: Rockets point guard Jeremy Lin is averaging 14.4 points, 6.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 1.0 threes while shooting 46.5 percent from the field over his last 21 games.
Insight: Linsanity is a distant memory but Lin is still a solid fantasy point guard if you can deal with the turnovers.

Insight: Harden has only made 13-of-43 (.302) over the last two games. He was due for a cold streak after averaging a ridiculous 29 points on 49.6 percent shooting his previous 20 games. Fortunately the Rockets guard always finds a way to contribute in the other categories while still getting his share of points even when his shot is off.

Both players are going to struggle to have fantasy value, especially when Carlos Delfino is taking up so many minutes off the bench as the three to Chandler Parsons' four.
Description: Rockets forward Chandler Parsons scored 23 points with nine rebounds, four assists and six turnovers Saturday against the 76ers. Parsons' scoring output could have been even better, but he only made 1-of-7 from 3-point range.
Insight: Parsons has attempted at least 10 shots in each of his last four games and is averaging 17.3 points in that span. He only scored 26 points combined in his previous four games.
Description: Houston shooting guard James Harden saw his streak of 25-point games come to an end Friday night in Boston.
Insight: Harden finished one point shy of recording his 15th game in a row of 25 or more points. Ironically, the last time Harden scored fewer than 25 was also against the Celtics back on December 14th.

Insight: Most of Delfino's shot attempts come from 3-point range and he doesn't get to the line much so his value is closely tied to his ability to drain the 3-ball. Right now, he's doing that very well.
Description: With 31 points on Tuesday versus the Lakers, Rockets guard James Harden tied a franchise record with his 13th consecutive game with 25 or more points.
Insight: Harden added nine assists, six rebounds and one triple with 8-of-8 from the foul line on Tuesday. The shooting guard has been unstoppable in his last 17 games, scoring 25-plus in 16 of them and averaging 29.5 points on 49.8 shooting, 5.3 assists, 4.0 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 2.1 threes over in that stretch.

Insight: White, a first round pick, admitted in an interview earlier this week that there's a chance he might never play in the NBA. This situation doesn't look very promising.
Description: Houston swingman Carlos Delfino has scored 22 points in two of his three games since returning from a two-game absence, but he only had two points in the other game.
Insight: Delfino made six threes on both Dec. 31 and Jan. 4 but missed all four of his 3-point attempts on Jan. 2. The 3-point attempts are certainly there -- Delfino is averaging 6.1 in 25 minutes this season -- but he has to make more of them to offset below average production in other areas.
Description: Rockets shooting guard James Harden has scored 25 or more points in 11 straight games, tied for the third-longest streak in franchise history. Harden is only two away from the Rockets record, set by Moses Malone in 1981-82, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
Insight: Harden has actually posted 25 or more points in 14 of the last 15 games, with a 21-pointer on Dec. 14 breaking the string. The guard is averaging 29.5 points on 49.8 percent shooting with 5.3 assists, 4.1 rebounds, 2.1 steals, 2.1 threes, 2.8 turnovers and an .876 free-throw percentage on an incredible 11.3 attempts per game during that stretch.
Description: Rockets power forward Patrick Patterson hasn't regained his starting job yet but a change could be on the horizon. Patterson scored 18 points on 6-of-7 shooting on Friday against the Bucks while starter Marcus Morris had zero on 0-of-7 shooting in 25 minutes.
Insight: Patterson missed seven games in December due to a foot injury and has been coming off the bench in four games since returning to action. Morris was a solid replacement in Patterson's absence but Patterson has made 13-of-15 from the field over his last two games compared to Morris' 2-of-14.
Description: Marcus Morris played well when Rockets forward Patrick Patterson was out of the starting lineup and scored 39 points in Patterson's first two games back, but the two split the power forward minutes on Wednesday against the Hornets.
Insight: Patterson's minutes have increased in each game since returning from a sore foot. He hasn't yet regained his starting role but played 23 minutes to Morris' 21 on Wednesday and scored 15 points with 10 rebounds. Look for the two to flip roles soon, with Patterson becoming the more valuable fantasy property but ultimately being limited by Morris' presence.

Insight: White had been on a sabbatical to deal with some of his personal issues including OCD, anxiety disorder and a fear of flying but now it appears he's finally ready to rejoin the team. Insight: Parsons only gets to the foul line 2.4 times per game so he has to shoot well to keep his scoring average up. He has done that this season while also providing strong numbers in rebounding, assists, steals and 3-pointers.

Description: Houston PF Patrick Patterson (13.2 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.4 apg) will need a couple more weeks before he can return from a right foot injury.
Insight: Patterson's spot in the lineup has been ably manned by Marcus Morris. As a starter the second-year PF has averaged 13.6 ppg, 4.4 rpg and 1.6 apg, also exactly the same production as Patterson.
Description: Rockets shooting guard James Harden has become a fantasy superstar after getting out from under the shadow of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook in Oklahoma City.
Insight: Harden's scoring average has jumped from 16.8 ppg to 25.6 ppg and while his shooting percentages are down it's because he forcing up 17 shots per game in this offense. He's going to the line 10 times per game which certainly has been a big contributor to his rise in scoring average. He's playing the most minutes of his career (38.6) which is also helping push him to career highs in rebounds (4.4), assists (5.4), steals (1.5), blocks (.0.5) and turnovers (3.7).

Insight: If we had a few complaints with Harden's high-scoring start to the season, it's that he only shot 41 percent from the field and 32.6 percent from 3-point range while turning the ball over 4.1 times per game in his first 17 games. His last eight, he has made 41.2 percent of his 3-point attempts while turning it over 2.9 times per game.
Description: Rockets forward Marcus Morris is has tallied 15.3 ppg and 4.7 rpg in three games since joining the starting lineup.
Insight: Morris has hit two 3-pointers per game in that span. Morris will only be valuable while Patrick Patterson (right knee bruise, day-to-day) is out.

If he can get it going from downtown in addition to averaging 9.4 free-throw attempts per game, watch out.

Insight: Douglas has had some decent games as Houston's backup PG this season but nothing like this explosion. We don't expect an encore but could see Douglas cut into struggling starter Jeremy Lin's minutes like he did Tuesday.

Insight: Harden scored 37 points with 12 assists, six rebounds and four steals in his Rockets debut. Friday's performance wasn't as well rounded but it was still impressive. If you haven't drafted yet, there's certainly a strong case to be made for Harden as the fourth overall pick after LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Chris Paul.

Insight: Harden was looking for a new contract and Oklahoma City didn't want to pay him and risk crossing the luxury tax threshold. The exciting young guard already had major fantasy value but the trade makes him even more attractive. He'll start at shooting guard next to Jeremy Lin after coming off the bench for most of his career. As the focal point of Houston's offense we should see his scoring average increase from the 16.8 he posted last season.
Description: Forward Royce White has come to an agreement with the Rockets that will allow him to take a bus to away games that are close enough to drive to instead of flying with the team. White will report to Rockets camp on Monday.
Insight: It's a unique situation but it should help White in dealing with his anxiety issues. White probably won't play a major role in Houston as a rookie.
Description: Houston rookie forward Royce White is seeking permission from the team to travel by bus instead of flying to some of the team's away games this season.
Insight: White, well known for his anxiety disorder, has a crippling fear of planes, and has not reported to Rockets camp because of personal issues. White showed plenty of potential last year at Iowa State when he led the team in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals but his mental illness could prevent him from being an effective player at the next level. We'd be weary abou White's fantasy prospects heading into the season.

Insight: Details are being finalized. Lee averaged 11.4 points and made 1.5 threes per game with Houston last season, but he isn't likely to get a boost in production as he battles with Jason Terry and Avery Bradley for playing time at shooting guard.
Description: The Knicks have officially declined to match Houston's three-year offer sheet for point guard Jeremy Lin, meaning Lin is now a member of the Rockets.
Insight: Lin will step right into Houston's starting PG role, as Goran Dragic and Kyle Lowry are gone. He'll get plenty of playing time but he may have a difficult time matching the 18.5 points and 7.6 assists he averaged in 26 games (25 starts) as a full-time rotation player with the Knicks last season, as the Rockets have gutted their roster this offseason.
Description: The Timberwolves are expected to pursue free agent shooting guard Courtney Lee if the Trail Blazers are able to retain small forward Nicolas Batum.
Insight: Batum (13.9 ppg, 4.6 rpg) agreed to the Timberwolves' offer sheet but it looks like Portland is going to match Minnesota's four year, $46.5 million offer. The Celtics have also demonstrated an interest in Lee (11.4 ppg) this offseason.
Description: Houston used its amnesty clause to waive forward Luis Scola on Thursday. The Rockets are hoping this maneuver will create enough cap room to land Orlando center Dwight Howard.
Insight: The Rockets made a push for Howard in the days leading up to the draft and now that the Nets seem to have moved on from Howard, Houston's interest has been renewed. Either way, this is a pretty risky move on the Rockets' part. Scola was one of the team's top contributors last season, posting 15.5 ppg and 6.5 rpg in 66 games. If Houston fails to bring in Howard, they'll have a difficult time finding someone to replace Scola's steady production at the power forward position.

Insight: Douglas averaged 10.6 ppg in 81 games in 2010-11, but he fell out of Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni's rotation and stayed on the bench when Mike Woodson took the reigns. Douglas ended up averaging 6.2 points in 38 games. Houston lost free agent point guard Goran Dragic to the Suns and Kyle Lowry to trade, so there isn't much guard competition on the roster right now. Douglas could make for a nice late-round sleeper in deeper leagues.
Description: The Celtics met with free agent Courtney Lee on Saturday and appear to be interested in working out a sign and trade deal for the Houston guard.
Insight: Lee (11.4 ppg) moved into the starting lineup after Kevin Martin went down with an injury and ended up averaging 13.2 ppg over the season's final two months. If Lee went to Boston he'd probably serve as Jason Terry's backup at shooting guard until Avery Bradley is healthy enough to return from offseason shoulder surgery. Marcus Camby, who went to college close to Boston at the University of Massachusetts, could also be involved if the Rockets and Celtics decide to engage in a sign and trade for Lee.
Description: Free agent center Marcus Camby is hoping to remain with the Houston Rockets this offseason.
Insight: Unfortunately for Camby, it's not that simple. The Rockets are already pursuing Chicago center Omer Asik (3.1 ppg, 5.3 rpg) and it's doubtful Houston would give a big contract to a 38-year-old entering his 17th NBA season. Camby has also expressed an interest in playing for the Heat if Houston passes on him. Despite his age, Camby remains an above average rebounder and shot blocker (9 rpg, 1.4 bpg).
Description: Connecticut guard Jeremy Lamb will head to Houston as the No. 12 pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.
Insight: Lamb is a big-time scorer (17.7 ppg for the Huskies in 2011-12) with tons of fantasy potential. Houston isn't the best situation for him because he'll likely start behind Kevin Martin on the team's depth chart at shooting guard but even in limited playing time Lamb should still be able to reward his owners with double-digit points on most nights.
Description: Kyle Lowry wants out of Houston if Kevin McHale is still the team's coach next season.
Insight: The Rockets really don't need Lowry now that Goran Dragic has emerged as Houston's point guard of the future. The Rockets could revisit a trade discussed earlier in the season that would have sent Lowry to Los Angeles in exchange for the Lakers' Pau Gasol if Lowry is serious about wanting to be traded.
