Hanson was very good his first three years in the majors, going 32-22 with a 3.28 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP, but he went 17-13 with a 4.76 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP the last two seasons. It's evidence of how far he has fallen that he was unable to crack the Rangers depleted rotation over Joe Saunders or Robbie Ross.
