Description: Padres starter Andrew Cashner continued to run into bad luck in his latest start in Atlanta.
Insight: Cashner pitched very well through five innings, allowing just one run, but he tossed up a homer in the sixth and then the flood gates opened in the seventh. Cashner allowed seven hits on the day with three of them coming in the seventh, but those three hits weren't really Cashner's fault because none of them left the infield. Luckily, the Padres rallied to win in extra innings, so Cashner didn't get the loss. He, however, is still just 2-8 with a 4.16 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 75 strikeouts in 80 innings this season.

Description: It's probably time to cut bait with Padres starter Andrew Cashner.
Insight: Cashner avoided losing his ninth game of the season on Saturday, but not because of his performance. He allowed seven runs on eight hits in 5 2/3 innings. Cashner also had just two strikeouts and five walks. Luckily, the Padres finally scored some runs with him on the mound, so he avoided the loss. Cashner is 2-8 with a 4.05 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 74 strikeouts in 73 1/3 innings. Those numbers just aren't good enough in standard leagues, and he is trending downward.

Description: Padres starter Andrew Cashner continues to frustrate fantasy owners as he lost again on Tuesday.
Insight: Cashner doesn't have excellent numbers with a 3.16 ERA and 1.35 WHIP, but he has certainly been better than his 1-5 record indicates. The Padres have yielded 10 unearned runs in Cashner's six starts. To make matters worse, the offense has given Cashner two runs in his last three starts. Hopefully the bad luck for Cashner ends soon. Cashner didn't get any run support as the score was, 3-1, when he left. In seven innings, Cashner allowed three runs, two earned, on six hits. He also had a season-high 10 strikeouts and just one walk. Cashner is 1-4 this season but supports a 2.61 ERA.

Description: Padres starter Andrew Cashner is not dealing with a health issue afterall.
Insight: Cashner left Monday's Spring Training game walking next to manager Bud Black and the trainer, but MLB.com reports that is because Cashner was just alerted about a personal matter back home in Texas. It is unclear how long Cashner might be away from the team, but it is not health related.

Insight: Cashner pitched eight shutout innings before giving up a solo home run to Hunter Pence and single to Joe Panik to begin the ninth. 9/15/2014 1:12:00 PM
Description: Padres righty Andrew Cashner continues to be a victim of poor run support this season.
Insight: Cashner's last three starts have essentially told the story of his 2014 campaign (1-1, 2.25 ERA). His 3-7 overall record has not been indicative of how well he has pitched this year, however his 2.40 ERA is a nice sight for owners. With a 1.54 ERA at home, Cashner is a recommended play tonight against an inconsistent Phillies lineup.

8/30/2014 9:57:00 AM
Description: Padres starter Andrew Cashner took a no-decision on Friday against the Dodgers in his second start since being activated from the disabled list.

Insight: Cashner allowed three runs in five innings Monday in his third minor league rehab start with Triple-A El Paso. If he returns this weekend, don't expect a long outing from him because his highest pitch count in his three rehab starts is 63. Cashner has been out since June 23, but he should be a nice boost to fantasy owners if they stuck with him. He was able to throw sliders without soreness.
