Toronto Raptors Player Notes
For The Last 365 Days

Kyle Lowry, G7/3/2014 12:49:00 PM
Description: According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the Raptors have re-signed Kyle Lowry to a four-year, $48 million contract.
Insight: Lowry was one of top second-tier free agents available, but he'll stick with the Raptors rather than taking less money to play with Houston or Miami. The 28-year-old had his best season in 2013-14, averaging 36.2 minutes, 17.9 points, 7.4 assists, 4.7 rebounds, 2.4 threes and 1.5 steals per game.
Kyle Lowry, G6/21/2014 4:00:00 PM
Description: Kyle Lowry and the Heat appear to be interested in joining forces. The point guard will become a free agent on July 1st. SOURCE: Brian Windhorst, ESPN
Insight: Lowry had a breakout year for the Raptors, averaging 17.9 ppg and 7.4 apg in 79 games during the regular season. Miami has certainly been lacking in the point guard department and Lowry would be a huge upgrade over Norris Cole and Mario Chalmers. Still, Lowry could probably earn more money elsewhere as the Heat are likely to use most of their salary cap space on re-signing LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Whatever Lowry makes next season, it will definitely be more than the $6.2 million he earned in 2013-14.
Kyle Lowry, G5/4/2014 4:12:00 PM
Description: Toronto guard Kyle Lowry scored a game-high 28 points Sunday in a heartbreaking loss to Brooklyn.
Insight: In what will go down as one of the most dramatic playoff games in recent memory, Lowry had the ball in his hands for the final shot but could not deliver. After taking contact from Kevin Garnett on his way to the hoop, Paul Pierce came from behind to block Lowry's shot as time expired. It was a disappointing end to what was an excellent series and an even better season for Lowry. With Lowry (21.1 ppg in the series) headed for free agency after the season, you wonder if he's played his final game with the Raptors.
Landry Fields, G5/2/2014 10:59:00 AM
Description: Raptors swingman Landry Fields (back spasms) is probable for Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals Friday against Brooklyn
Insight: Fields has been a non-factor in the playoffs. He's gotten in two games for a total of 25 minutes and has yet to score.
Kyle Lowry, GHot4/30/2014 10:37:00 PM
Description: Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry had 36 points, six assists and six threes Wednesday as Toronto took a 3-2 lead in its first-round playoff series against the Nets.
Insight: After leading by 22 points going into the fourth quarter, the Raptors allowed the Nets to tie the game with 1:23 left, but Kyle Lowry answered with a 3-pointer with 1:04 left to give Toronto a lead it would never lose. Lowry has averaged 21.8 points, 5.2 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 2.6 threes per game in the series.
Kyle Lowry, G 4/27/2014 9:44:00 PM
Description: The Raptors tied their first-round playoff series with the Nets 2-2 behind Kyle Lowry's 22 points in Game 4.
Insight: Lowry has averaged 18.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists during the series, though he has shot just 40 percent from the field and 30.4 percent from 3-point range.
DeMar DeRozan, G/F4/22/2014 10:45:00 PM
Description: Toronto G/F DeMar DeRozan looked much better in Tuesday night's win over the Nets.
Insight: DeRozan couldn't get much going in Game 1 (14 points on 3-of-13 shooting) but Game 2 was a completely different story. He ended up with 30 points in 38 minutes of court time. He shot 12-of-14 from the free throw line and is now 20-of-22 from that distance in this series (90.9 percent). Game 3 will be played Friday in Brooklyn.
Jonas Valanciunas, CHot4/22/2014 10:22:00 PM
Description: The Raptors turned things around Tuesday in Game 2 and a lot of the credit goes to second-year big man Jonas Valanciunas (15 points, 14 rebounds).
Insight: He's had a monster series, averaging 16 ppg and 16 rpg on 54.5 percent shooting. We'll see if Valanciunas has any magic left for Friday night's Game 3 in Brooklyn.
DeMar DeRozan, G/F4/19/2014 4:12:00 PM
Description: Raptors swingman DeMar DeRozan couldn't find his shot and went 3-for-13, including 0-for-4 from beyond the arc, in Game 1 versus Brooklyn.
Insight: DeRozan will have to produce as he did in the regular season (22.7 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 4.0 apg, 1.1 spg) if Toronto is to do anything in the series.
Jonas Valanciunas, CHot4/19/2014 4:10:00 PM
Description: Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas did his best to keep Toronto in Game 1 of the series with Brooklyn, grabbing 18 rebounds to go along with 17 points, two assists and a pair of blocks.
Insight: The 18 rebounds was a team record for the postseason. He averaged 11.3 ppg and 8.8 rpg during the regular season, so Game 1 was a huge step up.
Landry Fields, G4/19/2014 10:59:00 AM
Description: Raptors swingman Landry Fields (illness) is probable for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals Saturday against Brooklyn.
Insight: Fields is a non-factor in fantasy who is averaging just 11 minutes per game in the 30 contests he participated in.

Description: Raptors power forward Amir Johnson (right ankle sprain) is probable for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals Saturday against Brooklyn.

Insight: Vasquez averaged 13.9 points, 9.0 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game last season as New Orleans' starting point guard, so we know he can produce when given the chance. He's been providing decent numbers even with Lowry in the lineup so he's worth an add.

Insight: Patterson (8.9 ppg, 5.4 rpg) was diagnosed with the elbow injury on March 9 and missed the last five games. Starter Amir Johnson has been seeing more minutes with Patterson out of the lineup.
Kyle Lowry, G3/16/2014 4:23:00 PM
Description: Raptors guard Kyle Lowry went off for 28 points Sunday in a loss to Phoenix.
Insight: He also had 13 assists, five rebounds and two steals. If Lowry (17.2 ppg, 7.9 apg, 4.7 rpg) keeps this up, he could be in the running for Most Improved Player. Last year, that award was won by Indiana forward Paul George.
Jonas Valanciunas, C3/14/2014 9:44:00 PM
Description: Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas played 36 minutes Friday, his most since Dec. 31.
Insight: Toronto coach Dwane Casey has kept the 21-year-old Valanciunas' minutes around 26 per game since the January began. He hadn't played more than 29 in any of his previous 12 games. He responded to the increased playing time with 23 points, nine rebounds and one steal Friday against the Grizzlies, who have last season's Defensive Player of the Year Marc Gasol at center.
Patrick Patterson, F3/14/2014 7:12:00 PM
Description: Raptors forward Patrick Patterson (sprained UCL in his elbow) will miss his fourth straight game Friday.

Kyle Lowry, GHot3/10/2014 10:39:00 PM
Description: Toronto point guard Kyle Lowry almost had his second triple-double in as many nights Monday versus Brooklyn.
Insight: Lowry generated 21 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. The night before against Minnesota, he had 20 points, 12 boards and 11 dimes. He's logged at least 35 minutes in seven of his last eight games.
Terrence Ross, SG3/7/2014 6:04:00 PM
Description: Toronto guard Terrence Ross will be back in the starting lineup Friday against Sacramento. SOURCE: Josh Lewenberg, TSN 1050
Insight: He sat out Sunday's game with a sprained ankle but the four-day layoff gave him plenty of time to recover. Ross' return will push Landry Fields (2.6 ppg, 2.3 rpg) back to the bench.
Terrence Ross, SG3/5/2014 1:43:00 PM
Description: Raptors shooting guard Terrence Ross (sprained ankle) practiced Wednesday. SOURCE: Raptors Media Relations on Twitter
Insight: Ross missed Sunday's game but lucked out with the Raptors having four days off between games. He might be able to return Friday against the Kings.
DeMar DeRozan, GHot3/2/2014 7:00:00 PM
Description: Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan scored 30+ points for a third straight game Sunday against the Warriors.
Insight: DeRozan had 32 points Sunday and has averaged 33 points, six assists, four rebounds and 1.3 steals his last three games.
Kyle Lowry, G3/2/2014 3:43:00 PM
Description: Raptors guard Kyle Lowry is active for Sunday's game against Golden State.
Insight: He rolled his ankle Thursday against Washington though we never expected him to miss any time. With Terrence Ross (sprained ankle) out, Lowry (16.9 ppg, 7.7 apg) and DeMar DeRozan (22.7 ppg) should both see a heavy workload on Sunday.
Terrence Ross, SG3/2/2014 3:23:00 PM
Description: Raptors shooting guard Terrence Ross (sprained ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game with the Warriors. SOURCE: Raptors Media Relations on Twitter
Insight: We figured as much after Ross was only able to use the stationary bike during yesterday's practice. John Salmons (5.6 ppg) is likely to start in his place though his fantasy impact should be minimal.
Terrence Ross, SG3/2/2014 2:46:00 PM
Description: Toronto swingman Terrence Ross will be a game-time call Sunday against the Warriors. SOURCE: Toronto Sun
Insight: Ross sprained his ankle Thursday in a loss to Washington. John Salmons (5.6 ppg) is a candidate to start in his place.
Greivis Vasquez, G2/27/2014 11:06:00 PM
Description: Toronto guard Greivis Vasquez had 26 points, eight assists, four threes and two steals in 39 minutes Thursday against the Wizards.
Insight: Vasquez saw extra playing time after Terrence Ross suffered an ankle sprain in the first half. Kyle Lowry also suffered an ankle injury at the end of regulation and gutted out three overtimes, so he may have to miss Sunday's game if his ankle swells. Vasquez should be added in most leagues just in case.
DeMar DeRozan, GHot2/27/2014 11:05:00 PM
Description: Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan averaged 26.4 points, 5.0 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game in February.
Insight: DeRozan wrapped up the month with 34 points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals in 57 minutes during a triple-overtime loss to the Wizards Thursday. He hasn't made a 3-pointer since Feb. 12 but averaged 9.1 free-throw attempts per game in February while making 85.5 percent of them.
Kyle Lowry, G2/27/2014 9:49:00 PM
Description: Toronto guard Kyle Lowry injured his right ankle on the final play of regulation Thursday but was able to play through overtime.
Insight: He landed on Marcin Gortat's foot after taking a floater that missed and appeared to be in significant pain on the floor. He wasn't moving very well during the overtime period but gutted out the extra time. He'll be able to rest the ankle until Sunday but may have to miss a game if it swells up.
Terrence Ross, SG2/27/2014 8:33:00 PM
Description: Raptors guard Terrence Ross will not return to Thursday's game due to a sprained left ankle, the team announced.
Insight: After exploding for 51 points on Jan. 25, Ross has returned to his normal production with 11.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.9 threes over his last 14 games, but he had 11 points in the first half Thursday. John Salmons started the second half in his place.
Terrence Ross, SG2/27/2014 8:17:00 PM
Description: Raptors guard Terrence Ross went to the locker room during Thursday's game with an ankle injury.
Insight: Ross rolled his ankle and is questionable to return. After exploding for 51 points on Jan. 25, Ross has returned to his normal production with 11.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.9 threes over his last 14 games.
Landry Fields, G2/27/2014 10:42:00 AM
Description: Raptors swingman Landry Fields (right wrist) is back from the injury, but still didn't play due to coach's decision.
Insight: Fields is a non-factor in fantasy who is averaging just 12 minutes per game.
DeMar DeRozan, G2/25/2014 9:47:00 PM
Description: DeMar DeRozan led the Raptors with 33 points Tuesday in a win over Cleveland.
Insight: Sixteen of DeRozan's 33 points came in the fourth quarter. DeRozan still hasn't made a three-pointer since the All-Star break (0-for-10) though it's tough to complain when he's averaging 25.7 ppg for the month of February.
John Salmons, G/F2/25/2014 6:33:00 PM
Description: Toronto G/F John Salmons (back spasms) will play Tuesday, according to Josh Lewenberg of tsn.ca.
Insight: Salmons had a recurrence of back spasms but will play through it. He hasn't scored more than eight points in any of his last eight games, however, so there's no reason to use him in fantasy.
Amir Johnson, F2/25/2014 6:22:00 PM
Description: Toronto forward Amir Johnson (ankle) will start Tuesday against the Cavaliers, according to raptors.com.
Insight: Johnson sprained his right ankle earlier this month and was forced to leave Sunday's game after being kicked in it. He was held out of practice Monday as a precaution.
Amir Johnson, F2/24/2014 6:34:00 PM
Description: Toronto forward Amir Johnson should be fine for Tuesday's game against Cleveland. SOURCE: Ryan Wolstat, Toronto Sun
Insight: He sprained his ankle during Sunday's win against the Magic. Johnson (10.3 ppg, 6.6 rpg) scored four points on 2-of-9 shooting when he played the Cavaliers on Friday.
Kyle Lowry, G2/23/2014 10:22:00 PM
Description: Toronto guard Kyle Lowry was terrific in Sunday's win against the Magic.
Insight: Lowry made a killing from deep, draining four of his five attempts from beyond the arc. Overall, Lowry shot 7-for-13 from the field for 28 points. He also contributed four rebounds and six assists.
Amir Johnson, F2/23/2014 10:09:00 PM
Description: Raptors power forward Amir Johnson had his right ankle kicked Sunday against the Magic but the injury doesn't look serious. SOURCE: Josh Lewenberg, TSN 1050
Insight: Johnson (12 points, eight rebounds on Sunday) seems to have suffered a mild ankle sprain. We wouldn't be surprised to see him back in action Tuesday versus the Cavs.
Nando De Colo, G2/20/2014 7:24:00 PM
Description: The Raptors landed Nando de Colo Thursday in a trade with San Antonio. SOURCE: Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo Sports
Insight: The Spurs received backup forward Austin Daye. With Kyle Lowry and Greivis Vasquez occupying so many minutes at point guard, it's tough to envision de Colo (4.3 ppg) having much of a fantasy impact on his new team.
Jonas Valanciunas, C2/19/2014 11:58:00 AM
Description: According to the Toronto Sun, Raptors coach Dwane Casey said he will manage his frontcourt rotation based on matchups.
Insight: The 21-year-old Jonas Valanciunas has started 53 games for Toronto this season but averaged 27.7 minutes, 10.6 points, 8.8 rebounds and 0.9 blocks, but he has played just 25.4 minutes per game in February.
Kyle Lowry, G2/18/2014 9:30:00 PM
Description: Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry led the way with 24 points and ten assists Tuesday in a victory over Washington.
Insight: Could this be Lowry's final game as a Raptor? Who knows. We do know this though. According to ESPN Stats and Info, Tuesday was Lowry's third 20-point, ten-assist game of the season. That's as many as he had in his two previous seasons combined.
Patrick Patterson, F2/18/2014 6:31:00 PM
Description: Raptors forward Patrick Patterson will start Tuesday even though Amir Johnson (ankle) is returning from a two-game absence, according to Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun.
Insight: Patterson has averaged 15 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.5 threes over his last four games, but he'll probably play less than the 31.7 minutes per game he saw with Johnson out of the lineup now that Johnson is back.
Amir Johnson, F2/18/2014 5:28:00 PM
Description: Toronto coach Dwane Casey confirmed that forward Amir Johnson (bruised left ankle) will play Tuesday, according to Josh Lewenberg of tsn.ca.
Insight: Johnson missed the last two games before the All-Star break. He has put up just 8.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.2 blocks over his last 25 games.
Amir Johnson, F2/18/2014 11:17:00 AM
Description: Toronto forward Amir Johnson (bruised left ankle) is probable for Tuesday's game against Washington.
Insight: Johnson hasn't played since Feb 7, but should be fine to return and start on Tuesday. He's averaging a career-high 10.3 ppg along with 6.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game this season, but has struggles to score of late averaging just 6.0 ppg in February.
Kyle Lowry, G2/17/2014 11:11:00 AM
Description: This will be an important and probably nerve-racking week for Toronto point guard Kyle Lowry's fantasy owners with the trade deadline on the horizon.
Insight: Lowry is having the best season of his career (16.7 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 7.6 apg, 1.6 spg), but we don't know if the Raptors are buyers or sellers. GM Masai Ujiri says there are no untouchables on the team and a number of contenders could be interested in Lowry.
DeMar DeRozan, GHot2/12/2014 9:37:00 PM
Description: Toronto guard DeMar DeRozan shot 11-of-19 for a game-high 31 points Wednesday against Atlanta.
Insight: The Raptors' four other starters -- Kyle Lowry, Terrence Ross, Patrick Patterson and Jonas Valanciunas -- went 17-of-49 (.347) from the field, but Derozan came up big for his third game with 30+ points in his last six. He has averaged 27.7 ppg in February.
Amir Johnson, F2/12/2014 6:09:00 PM
Description: Toronto forward Amir Johnson (ankle) will sit out a second straight game Wednesday, according to Eric Koreen of the National Post.

Description: Toronto point guard Kyle Lowry turned in a strong all-around performance Monday against New Orleans.

Amir Johnson, F2/10/2014 6:36:00 PM
Description: Toronto forward Amir Johnson won't compete in Monday night's game against New Orleans. SOURCE: Josh Lewenberg, TSN 1050
Insight: Johnson (10.3 ppg, 6.7 rpg) has been bothered by a sprained ankle and our guess is, we won't see him until after the All-Star break. Patrick Patterson (8.7 ppg, 5.3 rpg), who is battling an injury of his own (broken nose), will fill in for Johnson Monday versus the Pelicans.
Patrick Patterson, F2/9/2014 9:36:00 PM
Description: Raptors forward Patrick Patterson will continue to wear a protective mask for at least the next four weeks. Patterson broke his nose late last month. SOURCE: Ryan Wolstat, Toronto Sun
Insight: Patterson (8.7 ppg, 5.3 rpg) has put up his usual stats while wearing the mask so we don't anticipate this having a major fantasy impact. Who knows, maybe he'll pull a Richard Hamilton and embrace the accessory, wearing it even when he doesn't have to.
Kyle Lowry, G2/5/2014 9:26:00 PM
Description: Raptors guard Kyle Lowry is active for Wednesday's game against Sacramento. SOURCE: Josh Lewenberg, TSN 1050
Insight: He only played 25 minutes Monday because of a sore knee but it looks like he's good to go. Lowry is eighth in the league in assists with 7.5 apg in 48 appearances.
Kyle Lowry, G2/4/2014 7:03:00 PM
Description: Toronto point guard Kyle Lowry (knee) participated in a light practice on Tuesday and expects to play Wednesday, according to Josh Lewenberg of tsn.ca.

Description: Toronto point guard Kyle Lowry said his knee injury is not serious, according to Josh Lewenberg of tsn.ca.

Kyle Lowry, G2/3/2014 11:35:00 PM
Description: Toronto point guard Kyle Lowry left Monday's game with pain in his right knee, according to Josh Lewenberg of tsn.ca.
Insight: Adding insult to injury, Lowry had just two points on 1-of-8 shooting in 25 minutes. He has been a top-three fantasy point guard and top-15 overall asset this season.
Greivis Vasquez, G2/3/2014 8:40:00 PM
Description: Toronto guard Greivis Vasquez will be available Monday against the Jazz in spite of an illness, according to Josh Lewenberg of tsn.ca.

Greivis Vasquez, G2/3/2014 2:52:00 PM
Description: Raptors point guard Greivis Vasquez should return to the court after missing one game due to illness, according to Raptors beat reporter Josh Lewenberg.
Insight: Vasquez is seeing very little PT with Kyle Lowry on top of his game. He's cracked double digits just once inhis last five games.
DeMar DeRozan, G2/2/2014 10:33:00 AM
Description: Raptors shooting guard DeMar DeRozan did something he's only done twice in his career Saturday against Portland.
Insight: Saturday marked just the second double-double of his career as DeRozan ended up with 36 points and 12 assists. A one-trick pony throughout most of his career, DeRozan (22.0 ppg) is beginning to show new life as a rebounder and distributor. His 4.6 rpg and 3.8 apg averages this season are both career-highs.

Description: Toronto guard DeMar DeRozan (foot) will return to the lineup Friday, according to Josh Lewenberg of sportsnet.ca.

Description: Raptors power forward Amir Johnson (ankle) is probable for Friday's game, according to raptors.com.

Patrick Patterson, F1/31/2014 5:20:00 PM
Description: Toronto power forward Patrick Patterson (broken nose) is probable for Friday's game, according to raptors.com.
Insight: Patterson broke his nose Saturday and played two days later but sat out Wednesday after having a procedure to reset the nose. Now that Tyler Hansbrough is back in the lineup after missing 14 games, Patterson's playing time will be reduced slightly.

DeMar DeRozan, G1/30/2014 1:46:00 PM
Description: Toronto guard DeMar DeRozan (foot) did not play Wednesday, but said he feels better and is expecting to play Friday night, according to Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun.
Insight: DeRozan has been dealing with a sprained left foot. Kyle Lowry has averaged 32 ppg of the past two contests and might not be quite so explosive if DeRozan is back taking 17.9 shots a game.
Amir Johnson, F1/29/2014 9:27:00 PM
Description: Raptors power forward Amir Johnson's 22 points Wednesday against the Magic were his most since he had 32 on Dec. 8.
Insight: Johnson averaged just 7.8 points and 7.3 field-goal attempts in his previous 12 contests, but he got up a season-high 20 shots Wednesday.
Jonas Valanciunas, CHot1/29/2014 9:25:00 PM

Tyler Hansbrough, F1/29/2014 6:09:00 PM
Description: Raptors power forward Tyler Hansbrough is available to play Wednesday, according to raptors.com.
Insight: Hansbrough missed the last 14 games with an ankle injury. He's only averaging 17.5 minutes per game this season and has no fantasy value, but his absence allowed Patrick Patterson to get extra playing time. Patterson averaged 23.6 minutes, 11.9 points and 5.6 rebounds while Hansbrough was out.

Terrence Ross returned to earth following his 51-point outburst so score just 10 points on nine shots. No, he's not the answer.
Kyle Lowry, G1/27/2014 10:05:00 PM
Description: Toronto point guard Kyle Lowry had a very productive outing Monday against the Nets.
Insight: The victory snapped Brooklyn's five-game winning streak. Lowry shot 10-of-18 from the field for 31 points while also contributing seven assists, five boards and five steals. DeRozan's 37.7 minutes per game will be distributed among Greivis Vasquez, Terrence Ross and John Salmons, with Ross (51 points Saturday) representing the biggest beneficiary of DeRozan's absence.
DeMar DeRozan, G1/26/2014 3:09:00 PM

DeRozan's 37.7 minutes per game will be distributed among Greivis Vasquez, Terrence Ross and John Salmons, with Ross (51 points Saturday) representing the biggest beneficiary of DeRozan's absence.
Terrence Ross, SGHot1/25/2014 9:44:00 PM
Description: The Raptors lost to the Clippers Saturday night but don't blame Terrence Ross. He made 16-of-29 from the field and scored a career-high 51 points, grabbed nine rebounds and made 10 threes.
Insight: Ross won the 2013 Slam Dunk Contest and this season he might be going for the 3-point crown. Since he became the starting two-guard, Ross has averaged 13.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 2.6 triples per game. DeMar DeRozan left Saturday's game with a sprained left foot and if he has to miss time Ross would end up benefitting immensely.

DeMar DeRozan, GHot1/24/2014 10:13:00 PM
Description: Toronto guard DeMar DeRozan stayed hot with 34 points Friday in a win over Philadelphia.
Insight: He shot 13-of-16 from the line. DeRozan was one rebound away from his second career double-double. He's been impossibly hot this month with an average of just under 25 ppg in 13 January games. Don't be surprised if DeRozan is named to his first All-Star team when the reserves are announced next week.
Kyle Lowry, G1/24/2014 10:05:00 PM
Description: Raptors guard Kyle Lowry earned his fourth career triple-double Friday in a win over the Sixers.
Insight: Lowry collected 18 points, 13 assists and ten rebounds in 36 minutes of court time. He was awful against Dallas earlier in the week (three points on 0-of-10 shooting) but that was probably because he was dealing with flu-like symptoms. When healthy, Lowry is one of the more consistent options in all of fantasy basketball.
DeMar DeRozan, GHot1/22/2014 10:04:00 PM
Description: Raptors shooting guard DeMar DeRozan exploded for 40 points Wednesday in an upset win over Dallas.
Insight: DeRozan connected on 15 of his 22 field goal attempts. He's scored 20 or more in four of his last five games. With a little luck, he could earn an invite to next month's All-Star Game in New Orleans.
Landry Fields, G1/22/2014 12:12:00 PM
Description: Raptors swingman Landry Fields will be shut down for three weeks after undergoing surgery to address a nerve issue in his right wrist.

Description: Raptors point guard Greivis Vasquez had 15 points, nine assists, seven rebounds and three triples in 24 minutes off the bench Monday afternoon.

Tyler Hansbrough, F1/20/2014 10:19:00 AM
Description: Raptors power forward Tyler Hansbrough wasn't in the lineup for the ninth consecutive game on Sunday due to an ankle sprain. Sunday.
Insight: Hansbrough's return should be coming shortly, though it probably won't affect many fantasy teams as he's averaging just 5.5 ppg and 5.0 rpg. His return would likely adversly effect starter Amir Johnson who is playing almost 30 mpg and averaging 11.0 ppg, 6.8 rpg.
John Salmons, G/F1/20/2014 10:15:00 AM
Description: Toronto G/F John Salmons (back spasms) didn't play Sunday against the Lakers and is questionable for Monday against Charlotte.
Insight: Salmons has averaged 6.3 ppg in 36 games this season so has no fantasy value, but his absence should mean 35-plus minutes for starter Terrence Ross.

Steve Novak, F1/19/2014 4:03:00 PM
Description: Even though Toronto G/F John Salmons was out Sunday against the Lakers with a bad back, both Steve Novak and Landry Fields picked up DNPs.
Insight: The Raptors may want to stop signing or trading for Knicks' players. Fields has played just 12 minutes per game this season and Novak has averaged 10.5. Description: Raptors swingman John Salmons is going to be a game-time decision Sunday against the Lakers. SOURCE: Josh Lewenberg, TSN 1050
Insight: He injured his back on Friday but was back at practice less than 24 hours later. If we had to guess, we'd say Salmons is likely to play on Sunday. He's averaged 9.0 ppg in two games against Los Angeles in 2013-14.
John Salmons, G1/17/2014 10:28:00 PM
Description: Toronto G/F John Salmons left Friday's game with back spasms.
Insight: He averaged 26 minutes and 12 points his previous three games but left after 10 minutes Friday. He has played 25 minutes per game in 18 games with Toronto after coming over from the Kings, but he has averaged just 6.8 ppg in that timeframe. Description: Toronto forward Tyler Hansbrough is unlikely to be in uniform Monday against the Bucks. SOURCE: TSN 1050
Insight: A sprained ankle has kept Hansbrough (5.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg) out since January 1st. He practiced on Sunday but apparently it's going to be a few more days before he's ready for game action.
Tyler Hansbrough, F1/12/2014 6:00:00 PM
Description: Raptors power forward Tyler Hansbrough was back at practice on Sunday. He's been sidelined the last five games with a sprained ankle. SOURCE: Josh Lewenberg, TSN 1050

Description: Toronto guard DeMar DeRozan has scored at least 20 points in seven of his last nine games, including Saturday against the Nets when he had 26.
Insight: DeRozan has averaged 22.3 ppg in that span. The guard has attempted the same number of field goals per game (17.7) since the Rudy Gay trade as he did when Gay was on the team, though his free-throw attempts have increased by 1.4 per game to 7.5.

Insight: Wednesday was the 28-year-old's fourth absence in a row. The team is calling him day-to-day. Hansbrough (5.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg) has only started three games this season and won't be a fantasy option even when he comes back as he's buried deep on the depth chart.

Tyler Hansbrough, F1/7/2014 6:36:00 PM
Description: Raptors power forward Tyler Hansbrough is still out with a sprained ankle. SOURCE: Matt Devlin, Raptors.com

Description: Raptors PF Tyler Hansbrough aggravated his left ankle sprain Wednesday causing him to miss Friday's contest and he's questionable for Sunday's game against Miami.

Terrence Ross, SG1/1/2014 9:41:00 PM
Description: Raptors guard Terrence Ross is averaging 14 points and 2.6 threes per game as a starter this season.
Insight: Ross was handed the starting shooting guard spot following the trade of Rudy Gay to Sacramento, and the 22-year-old slam dunk artist has responded with some big games. He just needs to show a little more consistency, but he's a must-own due to his 3-point shooting. Ross had 18 points, four rebounds, three steals and two threes in 38 minutes Wednesday to help the Raptors improve to 9-3 since the trade.
Kyle Lowry, GHot12/28/2013 9:49:00 PM
Description: Raptors guard Kyle Lowry helped his team roll the Knicks for a second straight night Saturday, this time in Toronto.

Kyle Lowry, GHot12/23/2013 10:58:00 PM
Description: Raptors guard Kyle Lowry scored 23 points with nine assists and four rebounds Monday at San Antonio.

Description: Raptors guard Kyle Lowry came within striking distance of his fourth-career triple-double Sunday in OKC.

DeMar DeRozan, GHot12/18/2013 10:53:00 PM

Greivis Vasquez, G12/12/2013 9:08:00 PM
Description: Greivis Vasquez will make his Raptors debut Friday against the Sixers. SOURCE: James Ham, Cowbell Kingdom

Description: With Greivis Vasquez now in the fold, Kyle Lowry's days in Toronto could be numbered. SOURCE: Yahoo Sports

Amir Johnson, FHot12/11/2013 10:55:00 AM
Description: Raptors power forward Amir Johnson has averaged 22.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 0.8 steals and 1.8 blocks over his last four games.
Insight: Perhaps the move to the bench motivated him. In any case, he's back in the starting lineup now following Tyler Hansbrough's shoulder injury and the trade of Rudy Gay to Sacramento.
Greivis Vasquez, G12/9/2013 10:13:00 AM
Description: Point guard Greivis Vasquez will join a crowded spot in Toronto which already has Kyle Lowry, D.J. Augustin and Dwight Buycks.
Insight: Vasquez was averaging almost 26 minutes in Sacramento, but will be hard-pressed to get that time in Toronto. His fantasy value is therefore up in the air until things get settled.
Rudy Gay, F12/9/2013 10:05:00 AM
Description: Raptors forward Rudy Gay has apparently been traded to Sacramento as part of a seven-player deal.
Insight: Gay will be a fantasy-worthy SF no matter where he plays. He was averaging 19.4 ppg, 7.4 rpg and 2.2 apg in Toronto and should put up similar numbers with his new team. He may not be in Monday's lineup versus Dallas, but should be ready for Wednesday's contest.
Amir Johnson, F12/7/2013 9:15:00 AM
Description: Raptors power forward Amir Johnson had 22 points, seven rebounds and three blocks in 33 minutes off the bench Friday against Phoenix.
Insight: Johnson was demoted to the bench in favor of Tyler Hansbrough three games ago, but Hansbrough suffered a shoulder sprain Friday. While the team may choose to keep Johnson on the bench because he has averaged 19 points and 8.5 rebounds over his last two games, he'll certainly see a good chunk of minutes at power forward with Hansbrough out.
Tyler Hansbrough, F12/6/2013 10:56:00 PM
Description: Raptors PF Tyler Hansbrough sprained the AC joint in his shoulder Friday, according to Josh Lewenberg of tsn.ca.

He's attempting a career-high 17.9 field goals and 3.6 threes per game and making 40 percent of his triples after shooting under 30 percent in each of his first four seasons.
Kyle Lowry, G11/26/2013 10:00:00 PM
Description: Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry's 24 points Tuesday against Brooklyn were a season high.
Insight: Lowry provides solid production in points, assists, rebounds, steals and threes, making him a strong fantasy point guard, but he's the third scoring option at best on a team with Rudy Gay and DeMar DeRozan.
Amir Johnson, F11/26/2013 5:03:00 PM
Description: Raptors power forward Amir Johnson (flu) will play Tuesday against the Nets.
Insight: Johnson is averaging 10.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 0.9 blocks and 0.6 steals per game this season. He would likely see more than 29 minutes per game if he could stay out of foul trouble, but he averages 3.8 fouls per game.

Description: Raptors forward Rudy Gay (flu) will play Tuesday after participating in shootaround, according to Josh Lewenberg of tsn.ca.

Quincy Acy, F11/26/2013 10:45:00 AM
Description: Raptors forward Quincy Acy is questionable for Tuesday's game against Brooklyn due to a sprained ankle.
Insight: Acy doesn't see enough playing time to warrant attention from fantasy owners.
Amir Johnson, F11/22/2013 9:25:00 PM
Description: All five Raptors starters scored in double figures Friday in a win over Washington.
Insight: Power forward Amir Johnson had 14 points after failing to score more than eight in the last three games. He's offering similar production to last season in all categories. Unfortunately, that includes fouls. He's averaging 3.8 fouls per game, which has limited his minutes to around 29.5 per game.
Quincy Acy, F11/22/2013 10:52:00 AM

Insight: He had 33 points on 10-of-19 shooting (3-5 3PT, 10-12 FT) over 38 minutes Wednesday at Philadelphia. Despite shooting a career-low 41.4 percent from the field, DeRozan is scoring a career-high 21.4 ppg because he's attempting a career-high 18.5 shots and 3.4 threes per game.
DeMar DeRozan, G11/15/2013 9:49:00 PM
Description: Raptors shooting guard DeMar DeRozan exploded for a season-best 37 points Friday against Chicago.
Insight: He accounted for nearly half of his team's points. Aside from the scoring outburst, it was a pretty typical DeRozan stat line. He came down with just one rebound while handing out one assist. DeRozan will continue to put up points but he isn't useful in the other fantasy categories.
Kyle Lowry, G11/11/2013 2:08:00 PM
Description: Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry (sprained his right ankle) is probable for Monday's game against Houston.
Insight: He won't be 100 percent, but he'll be in the lineup. D.J. Augustin might see a few additional minutes.

Description: Raptors forward Steve Novak remains out of the lineup. SOURCE: Josh Lewenberg, TSN 1050
Insight: He's missed the team's last two contests with a stiff back. Novak can get hot from three-point range but he rarely sees enough minutes to be a consistent fantasy contributor.
Jonas Valanciunas, C10/30/2013 1:13:00 PM
Description: Toronto big man Jonas Valanciunas will suit up Wednesday against the Celtics. SOURCE: Raptors.com
Insight: Valanciunas missed some time during the preseason after getting elbowed in the chin by Grizzlies power forward Zach Randolph. He should have his way in the low post Wednesday against a talent-starved Boston frontcourt.

Description: Toronto guard Kyle Lowry has a injured left ring finger tendon and will wear a splint for roughly six weeks.
Insight: Lowry will play through the injury, which is to his non-shooting hand. The point guard only averaged 9.9 points per game to go with 6.9 assists, 4.8 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.3 treys in 36 games last season following Toronto's acquisition of Rudy Gay, a move that gave Lowry sole possession of the starting point guard job.
