Description: Warriors center Marreese Speights put up a career-high 32 points with eight rebounds and three blocks in 26 minutes Monday against the 76ers and will have a similar role Wednesday.
Insight: Both Andrew Bogut and Jermaine O'Neal were out Monday and will sit out again Wednesday, leaving Speights (6.1 ppg, 3.5 rpg) as the team's top center in big lineups.

4/3/2013 9:41:00 PM
Description: Cavaliers forward/center Marreese Speights contributed 16 points, 10 rebounds and one steal in 22 minutes Wednesday versus Brooklyn.
Insight: Speights rarely played more than 20 mpg in March but he is averaging 19.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 23.5 minutes over his last two games.

3/5/2013 8:19:00 PM
Description: Despite Marreese Speights' big night Monday against the Knicks, Cavaliers coach Byron Scott said that Tyler Zeller (illness) will start Wednesday's game at center if Zeller is feeling better. SOURCE: Cleveland.com
Insight: Speights started at center and put in 23 points with eight rebounds but he went 0-4 in the second half after making all 10 shots in the first. Scott wasn't impressed, saying he thought Speights "stayed in the locker room from a mental standpoint" in the second half. Speights is still a decent fantasy play since he is averaging 12.6 points and 6.2 rebounds in 17 games since joining Cleveland.

2/23/2013 10:07:00 PM
Description: Cavaliers forward Marreese Speights played 23 minutes Saturday against the Magic and provided 18 points, eight rebounds, one steal and one block.
Insight: Speights made 4-of-8 from the field and got to the line 12 times, making 10. The big man is averaging 12.7 points and 6.5 rebounds in 12 games since coming over from Memphis in a trade.

2/6/2013 9:24:00 PM
Description: Cavaliers forward Marreese Speights is producing 14.7 points and 7.3 rebounds in 24.5 minutes over six games since joining the team via trade from Memphis.
Insight: Speights has been backing up both Tristan Thompson and Tyler Zeller and producing numbers that give him value in fantasy leagues.

1/22/2013 9:40:00 AM
Description: Marc J. Spears is reporting that Cleveland has traded for Memphis PF/C Marreese Speights.
Insight: The Cavaliers lost center Anderson Varejao for the season (blood clot) and Speights should see plenty of playing time. As a starter in Memphis, Speights averaged 16.0 ppg and 11.0 rpg and he could produce similar numbers in Cleveland. If available in your league he's worth a flier.

1/18/2013 10:35:00 PM
Description: Grizzlies forward Marreese Speights started in place of the injured Zach Randolph (back) Friday against the Kings and scored 10 points with nine boards, two assists and one steal.
Insight: Speights had a 22-13 double-double earlier this month when Randolph was out with an illness. You probably can't expect much more than what he did Friday but Speights would be a decent pickup if Randolph has to miss more games.

1/5/2013 9:45:00 AM
Description: Grizzlies forward Marreese Speights did his best Zach Randolph impersonation with 22 points and 13 rebounds Friday versus the Trail Blazers.
Insight: Randolph was sidelined with an illness so Speights stepped into the starting lineup for the first time this season. He has minimal value when Randolph is active but Friday's effort puts him on the radar as a potential replacement if Randolph were to get injured.

11/29/2012 9:29:00 PM
Description: Grizzlies forward Marreese Speights had 18 points and 12 rebounds with one block in 24 minutes Wednesday night.
Insight: Speights tied a season high with the 18 points. Unfortunately those are his only two double-digit scoring efforts this season.

11/8/2012 10:13:00 AM
Description: Grizzlies forward Marreese Speights emerged with 18 points, nine rebounds and two blocks on 9-of-13 shooting Wednesday against the Bucks
Insight: Just a rare breakout for a role player. Speights is averaging less than 20 minutes per game this season and played 22 Wednesday. He's buried behind Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol so ignore the solid effort for now.

10/19/2012 12:44:00 PM
Description: Memphis PF Marreese Speights was solid in a starting role with 16 points and 10 rebounds Thursday against Milwaukee.
Insight: Speights won't be a starter in 2012-13 as Zach Randolph is fully healthy but should be the first big guy off the bench. Given Randolph's chances of being injured again, using a late draft choice on Speights isn't a bad idea.

4/2/2012 8:22:00 PM
Description: Marreese Speights was intended to be a backup for Zach Randolph this season but now it appears that Speights has unseated Randolph in the starting lineup.
Insight: Speights probably won't be a starter in 2012-13 when Randolph is fully healthy again but for now, he's getting consistent minutes and in fantasy hoops, that's half the battle. Speights is averaging just under nine points per game this season. He's also reeling in a respectable 6.3 rebounds per game. If you haven't yet, give Speights a look.

1/26/2011 10:04:00 PM
Description: In 17 minutes off the bench, Speights scored 23 points on 10-of-12 shooting. He also had nine rebounds and one assist in the win.
Insight: It was just his night and he took advantage of the Raptors defenders. For the season Speights is averaging 5.4 points and 3.8 rebounds. (RapidDraft.com)

11/25/2010 9:02:00 AM
Description: Speights continued to come off the bench even though the 76ers were without a suspended Elton Brand. He had nine points and two rebounds in the 76er loss.
Insight: Speights was coming off his best game of the season (16 points, nine boards in the overtime loss to Washington), but he was unable to continue his productivity. He will remain an elusive fantasy entity until he gets more minutes. (RapidDraft.com)

10/13/2010 9:05:00 AM
Description: Marreese Speights had a gem of a game on Tuesday against Boston with 19 points and six rebounds in just 21 minutes.
Insight: It's important to remember Speights had a gigantic preseason last year and nothing really came of it. Hawes is not healthy and Speights' performance is probably just limiting Hawes' upside for now. The Sixers are clearly one of the teams to watch for the next two weeks.
