Description: Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz may not be the best option Tuesday against the Blue Jays.
Insight: Ortiz is 0-for-10 against opposing starter Drew Hutchison with three strikeouts. Ortiz is always a threat, but will have his work cut out for him on Tuesday.

4/24/2015 10:42:00 PM
Description: Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz blasted his fourth homer of the season.
Insight: The homer was a three-run shot, and Ortiz now has eight RBIs overall this season.

4/23/2015 3:22:00 PM
Description: Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz will appeal his one-game suspension for bumping an umpire and is in the red Sox Thursday lineup.
Insight: That doesn't mean you need to start him. Ortiz is batting just .208 this season and is 1-for-10 lifetime against Jake Odorizzi.

4/18/2015 10:27:00 AM
Description: Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz is just 3-for-27 (.111) against Orioles right-hander Chris Tillman.
Insight: Ortiz is batting just .171 with a .618 OPS through the first nine games and isn't likely to turn it around in Saturday's matchup.

4/18/2015 10:27:00 AM
Description: Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz is just 1-for-10 (.100) against Rays right-hander Jake Odorizzi.
Insight: Ortiz blasted a long home run on Wednesday night, but is an unfavorable matchup Thursday and should probably be avoided.

3/21/2015 10:12:00 AM
Description: Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz hasn't played since Monday and will miss the entire weekend as well, according to a Boston Globe report.
Insight: He first dealt with "general soreness" and now is sick. Neither should keep him from Opening Day. Despite his age, now 39, Ortiz continues to pump out productive season after productive season. He cracked both the 30 HR and 100 RBI marks the past two seasons.

9/25/2014 3:38:00 PM
Description: Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz is not in the lineup against the Rays on Thursday.
Insight: It is ashame for fantasy owners because Ortiz has great numbers against Jeremy Hellickson in his career. But the Red Sox feel content in not giving it their all the last week. Yoenis Cespedes will be the designated hitter on Thursday.

9/25/2014 10:35:00 AM
Description: Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz is hitting .385 with three home runs and four RBI against Rays starter Jeremy Hellickson in his career.
Insight: Ortiz had the day off on Wednesday, but with this matchup, we expect him to be back in there on Thursday. He should be in your lineup too.

9/24/2014 11:56:00 AM
Description: Wednesday is not the day to start Red Sox DH David Ortiz in your fantasy lineup.
Insight: He's just 1-for-10, a single, against Rays right-hander Jake Odorizzi. Big Papi has hit 35 homers and knocked in 104 runs this year, the eighth time he's put together a 30-100 season.

9/21/2014 10:58:00 AM
Description: Red Sox DH David Ortiz is getting the day off on Sunday.
Insight: It is just a routine day of rest for Big Papi. He continues to rake the ball, as he is third in the AL with 35 homeruns and tied for third with 104 RBI. Ortiz has shown no signs of a decline, just yet.

9/20/2014 10:03:00 AM
Description: Red Sox DH David Ortiz went 3-for-5 with the game-winning home run on Friday against the Orioles, but should not be in fantasy lineups for Saturday.
Insight: That's because he's an ugly 2-for-24 (.083) without an extra base hit against Orioles right-hander Chris Tillman. Ortiz has once again put up solid power numbers with 34 homers and 102 RBI, this just isn't a good matchup.

9/19/2014 10:58:00 PM
Description: Red Sox DH David Ortiz hit 3-for-5 with the game-winning home run on Friday against the Orioles.
Insight: Ortiz actually opened up the Red Sox scoring with a solo home run in the fourth. He drove in a run on a single in the fifth as Boston took a 3-1 lead. Then in the 10th, he hit a two-run bomb to give the Red Sox a 5-3 victory. It was Ortiz's fifth multi-home run game of the year and second of September.

9/18/2014 3:40:00 PM
Description: Red Sox DH David Ortiz is back in the starting lineup on Thursday.
Insight: Ortiz was away from the Red Sox for a week tending to a private family emergency. He is starting at first base on Thursday in Pittsburgh.

9/17/2014 4:07:00 PM
Description: Red Sox DH David Ortiz is not in Wednesday's starting lineup.
Insight: Not unexpected as they are in an NL city and there is no DH available. Ortiz is batting just .263, but with 32 home runs and 99 RBI. He might get one start out of the three-game series.

9/16/2014 4:00:00 PM
Description: Red Sox DH David Ortiz is not in Tuesday staring lineup.
Insight: Ortiz left for a family emergency Sunday but should be back in time for the game. They are playing in Pittsburgh which means no DH, however, so he likely would only start one of the three games anyway.

9/14/2014 6:51:00 PM
Description: Red Sox DH David Ortiz left Sunday's game against the Royals due to a family emergency.
Insight: Ortiz has already left to return home to the Dominican Republic. Fantasy owners should not count on him to play in Pittsburgh at the beginning of next week.
