Rueben Randle, WR, NYG12/28/2014 7:54:00 PM
Description: Giants receiver Rueben Randle had six catches for 158 yards on Sunday.
Insight: Odell Beckham has completely overshadowed Randle, but Randle had a decent season, finishing with 938 yards and 71 catches.
Zach Ertz, TE, PHI12/28/2014 7:52:00 PM
Description: Eagles tight end Zach Ertz caught four passes for 56 yards in Week 17.
Insight: Ertz had a disappointing season overall but came on late with 19 catches and over 200 yards the last two weeks. Hopefully he makes strides this offseason to be a stud next year.
Odell Beckham Jr., WR, NYGHot12/28/2014 7:51:00 PM
Description: Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. capped off a terrific rookie season on Sunday.
Insight: There were a lot of great rookie wide receivers this season; none better than Beckham. He caught 12 passes for 185 yards and a touchdown in Week 17. Beckham played just 12 games and still gained 1,305 yards with 91 catches. He particularly turned it on late with seven touchdowns in the last four games. It is obviously very, very early, but Beckham is poised to be a top-five wide receiver option at the start of next year's fantasy season.
Jordan Matthews, WR, PHI12/28/2014 7:47:00 PM
Description: Eagles rookie receiver Jordan Matthews had eight catches, 105 yards and a touchdown against the Giants.
Insight: Matthews capped off his rookie campaign on a big high note. Matthews really jelled with Mark Sanchez, so it will be interesting to see what 2015 brings. Matthews finished with 67 catches, 872 yards and eight touchdowns.
Andre Williams, RB, NYG12/28/2014 7:46:00 PM
Description: Giants running back Andre Williams scored a touchdown in Week 17 but didn't do much else.
Insight: Williams had a 9-yard touchdown run, but he gained just 43 yards on 15 carries in the entire game versus the Eagles. Williams finished the season with 721 yards, but a yards per carry average below 3.4.
LeSean McCoy, RB, PHI12/28/2014 7:44:00 PM
Description: Eagles running back LeSean McCoy just missed the 100-yard fantasy bonus.
Insight: McCoy gained 99 yards on 17 carries. McCoy added 15 more yards on one catch. In what was supposed to be a down year, McCoy still rushed for 1,319 yards, but unfortunately, he didn't score nearly as much with just five rushing touchdowns this year.
Eli Manning, QB, NYG12/28/2014 7:42:00 PM
Description: Giants quarterback Eli Manning was 28-of-53 with 429 yards, touchdown and interception against the Eagles.
Insight: It will be interesting to see if the Giants extend Manning as he has one year left on his contract. Manning finished 2014 with 4,410 yards, 30 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
Mark Sanchez, QB, PHI12/28/2014 7:41:00 PM
Description: Eagles quarterback Mark Sanchez threw two touchdowns but still didn't avoid turning it over in Week 17.
Insight: Sanchez was 23-of-36 for 292 yards in addition to his two scores and interception. In the right situation, Sanchez could find a starting job and have success next season, but he still turns the ball over way too many times. Sanchez is likely better suited as a backup in a quarterback friendly system.
Marques Colston, WR, NOS12/28/2014 7:39:00 PM
Description: Saints wide receiver Marques Colston caught a touchdown in Week 17.
Insight: Colston's touchdown proved to be the game-winner versus the Buccaneers. He caught just two passes for 51 yards, but Colston finished the season with over 900 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
Jimmy Graham, TE, NOS12/28/2014 7:37:00 PM
Description: Saints tight end Jimmy Graham had six catches for 54 yards on Sunday.
Insight: Graham had an up-and-down 2014, but he led New Orleans in all receiving categories. Graham had 85 yards, 889 yards and 10 touchdowns. If owners are disappointed with that, then it is just simply because Graham has set the expectations so high due to his early success in his career.
Mike Evans, WR, TAM12/28/2014 7:35:00 PM
Description: Buccaneers wideout Mike Evans had five catches for 54 yards and a touchdown against the Saints.
Insight: Evans finished his rookie season with 68 catches, 1,051 yards and 12 touchdowns. Just an exceptional season for Evans, and he will likely be a top-20 wide receiver next season.
Kenny Stills, WR, NOS12/28/2014 7:33:00 PM
Description: Saints receiver Kenny Stills led the team with five catches and 82 yards.
Insight: Stills has been pretty consistent the last three weeks with at least five catches and 60 yards the last three weeks. Stills will be a nice middle-round selection for 2015.
Doug Martin, RB, TAM12/28/2014 7:31:00 PM
Description: Buccaneers running back Doug Martin finished the 2014 season strong.
Insight: Martin didn't run well last week, but Martin did run for 96 yards two weeks ago, and finished the season with 108 yards on the ground against the Saints. That was Martin's first 100-yard game since Week 2 of 2013.
Mark Ingram, RB, NOS12/28/2014 7:29:00 PM
Description: Saints running back Mark Ingram had 14 carries for 57 yards and a touchdown.
Insight: Ingram had a 1-yard touchdown run at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Ingram had a very good season, finishing just shy of 1,000 yards with 964 yards and nine touchdowns. Let's hope he can stay healthy next season.
Drew Brees, QB, NOS12/28/2014 7:27:00 PM
Description: Saints quarterback Drew Brees had another subpar performance on Sunday.
Insight: Brees threw three interceptions against the lowly Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brees was able to salvage the day with a touchdown to extend his streak and lift New Orleans to a victory. Brees finished with 281 passing yards to just miss 5,000 passing yards this season.
Josh McCown, QB, TAM12/28/2014 7:25:00 PM
Description: Buccaneers quarterback Josh McCown completed 14-of-23 passes for 115 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
Insight: McCown finished with 2,206 yards, 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 11 starts this season. Tampa Bay needs a franchise quarterback, and they will have the first overall pick to choose one.
Tim Wright, TE, NEP12/28/2014 7:18:00 PM
Description: Patriots backup tight end Tim Wright caught one pass for 15 yards in Week 17.
Insight: We expected more considering Rob Gronkowski didn't play. A missed opportunity for Wright to prove himself although the Patriots didn't really try very hard in this game.
Scott Chandler, TE, BUF12/28/2014 7:16:00 PM
Description: Bills tight end Scott Chandler had one catch for 20 yards.
Insight: Chandler will likely be a TE2 next season, but it will be interesting to see who plays quarterback for the Bills.
Danny Amendola, WR, NEP12/28/2014 7:15:00 PM
Description: Patriots receiver Danny Amendola had his second straight game with at least four catches.
Insight: After a season-high eight catches and 63 yards last week, Amendola had four more catches and 24 yards in Week 17, though, Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman didn't play. It will be interesting to see how Amendola will be involved in the playoffs.
Robert Woods, WR, BUF12/28/2014 7:12:00 PM
Description: Bills receiver Robert Woods caught his fifth touchdown of the season on Sunday.
Insight: Woods had four catches for 39 yards with the score. He finished with 65 catches and 699 yards this season.
Brandon LaFell, WR, NEP12/28/2014 7:11:00 PM
Description: Patriots receiver Brandon LaFell led the team with 70 receiving yards in Week 17.
Insight: That wasn't hard to do considering Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman were both inactive. LaFell finished the season with 74 catches, 957 yards and seven touchdowns.
Sammy Watkins, WR, BUF12/28/2014 7:09:00 PM
Description: Bills wideout Sammy Watkins had three catches for 57 yards against the Patriots.
Insight: Watkins had a pretty good rookie season, but for fantasy purposes, Watkins is boom-or-bust because he relies so much on the big play. Watkins finished just shy of 1,000 yards receiving with 982 on 65 catches and six touchdowns.
LeGarrette Blount, RB, NEP12/28/2014 7:07:00 PM
Description: Running back LeGarrette Blount led the team with 62 rushing yards on 10 carries in Week 17.
Insight: Blount has reassumed the lead rushing duties in New England and seems to be ready for the playoff run.
Fred Jackson, RB, BUF12/28/2014 7:05:00 PM
Description: Bills running back Fred Jackson rushed 18 times for 58 yards versus the Patriots.
Insight: It was pretty amazing to see Jackson do what he did as a 33-year-old running back. He didn't wow anybody with his numbers, but he was pretty reliable in big spots for the Bills and fantasy owners. Jackson gained 964 yards from scrimmage on 188 touches this season.
Tom Brady, QB, NEP12/28/2014 7:02:00 PM
Description: Patriots quarterback Tom Brady played the first half, going 8-of-16 for 80 yards.
Insight: Brady and the Patriots said all week how important this game was to their team, but come Sunday, New England pretty much conceded the game. New England will still have home field advantage going to the Super Bowl.
Kyle Orton, QB, BUF12/28/2014 7:00:00 PM
Description: Bills quarterback Kyle Orton had a decent game, going 16-for-23 with 176 yards and a touchdown on Sunday.
Insight: Orton was a good game-manager for the Bills this season as they finished second in the AFC East with a 9-7 record, but look for Buffalo to upgrade the position next season. Orton didn't win many fantasy leagues this season.
Jarius Wright, WR, MIN12/28/2014 6:58:00 PM
Description: Vikings receiver Jarius Wright caught three passes for 23 yards in Week 17.
Insight: There are currently no fantasy relevant wide receivers in Minnesota, so hopefully they find some weapons for Teddy Bridgewater next season.
Martellus Bennett, TE, CHI12/28/2014 6:56:00 PM
Description: Bears tight end Martellus Bennett led Chicago with eight catches and 59 receiving yards on Sunday.
Insight: Say what you want about Bennett's poor blocking this season, he has been a very good receiving tight end in 2014. He finishes the season with 90 catches, 916 yards and six touchdowns. Both his catches and yards rank him in the top three among tight ends.
Greg Jennings, WR, MIN12/28/2014 6:55:00 PM
Description: Vikings wideout Greg Jennings had three catches for 45 yards against the Bears.
Insight: Teddy Bridgewater really spread the ball around, so no Vikings wideout really shined. Jennings led Minnesota with 742 receiving yards this season.
Alshon Jeffery, WR, CHI12/28/2014 6:53:00 PM
Description: Bears wideout Alshon Jeffery caught two passes for 34 yards on Sunday.
Insight: It was a lackluster effort from the Bears offense, but at least they didn't turn it over. Jeffery had a nice season with 85 catches, 1,133 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Matt Forte, RB, CHI12/28/2014 6:49:00 PM
Description: Bears running back Matt Forte set a new NFL record for catches by a running back in a single-season with 102 in 2014.
Insight: Forte caught eight passes for 23 yards to reach the record. He also had 17 carries for 51 yards to surpass the 1,000-yard mark on the ground. Forte gained over 1,800 yards from scrimmage this season and was a PPR monster.
Adam Thielen, WR, MIN12/28/2014 6:49:00 PM
Description: Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen led Minnesota with 68 yards on Sunday.
Insight: I'm going to go out on a limb and say Thielen wasn't in many fantasy lineups this weekend. Teddy Bridgewater spread the ball around as three different receivers had three catches. Thielen was the only receiver with a touchdown.
Matt Asiata, RB, MIN12/28/2014 6:47:00 PM
Description: Vikings running back Matt Asiata rushed for 91 yards on 19 carries against the Bears.
Insight: Asiata has been an average replacement for Adrian Peterson. Asiata finished 2014 with 570 yards and nine touchdowns. With the nice touchdown numbers and low yardage totals, it appears Asiata would be better suited for a goal line role down the road.
Jay Cutler, QB, CHI12/28/2014 6:45:00 PM
Description: Bears quarterback Jay Cutler avoided any big mistakes and didn't make any big plays in Week 17.
Insight: Cutler did not throw an interception, yet completed just 23-of-36 passes for 172 yards and no touchdowns. It will be interesting to see where Cutler ends up playing next season. He will have a starting job somewhere.
Teddy Bridgewater, QB, MIN12/28/2014 6:43:00 PM
Description: Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater completed 17-of-29 passes for 209 yards against the Bears.
Insight: Bridgewater also threw a touchdown and interception. We believe Bridgewater has been the most impressive rookie quarterback this season, and if Adrian Peterson comes back next season or other upgrades are made on offense, Bridgewater could be a decent late-round draft pick.
Charles Clay, FB/TE, MIA12/28/2014 6:41:00 PM
Description: Dolphins tight end Charles Clay caught a touchdown in the final week of the season.
Insight: Clay ended the season with three straight games of at least five catches. Clay had 58 catches for 605 yards and three touchdowns this season.
Jarvis Landry, WR, MIA12/28/2014 6:36:00 PM
Description: Dolphins receiver Jarvis Landry finished his rookie campaign with 84 catches and 758 yards.
Insight: Very respectable numbers for the rookie. He also scored five touchdowns. Landry is one to watch for next year's draft.
Eric Decker, WR, NYJ12/28/2014 6:35:00 PM
Description: Jets receiver Eric Decker had his best day as a New York Jet on Sunday.
Insight: Decker exploded for 10 catches and 221 yards with a touchdown in the final week of the season. Decker's touchdown was a 74-yard touchdown catch that came in the third quarter. Perhaps it is something to build upon for next season.
Brian Hartline, WR, MIA12/28/2014 6:33:00 PM
Description: Miami wideout Brian Hartline had five receptions for 94 yards in Week 17.
Insight: Hartline led the Dolphins in receiving on Sunday but didn't have the season owners would have liked as the rookie Jarvis Landry took over the WR2 role in Miami. Hartline had 39 catches for 474 yards.
Chris Johnson, RB, NYJ12/28/2014 6:32:00 PM
Description: Jets running back Chris Johnson only gained 20 rushing yards on 10 carries.
Insight: Johnson was not exactly the force the Jets were hoping for when they signed him this offseason. Johnson rushed for 663 yards and just one touchdown this season.
Lamar Miller, RB, MIA12/28/2014 6:30:00 PM
Description: Dolphins running back Lamar Miller ended 2014 on a high note.
Insight: Miller rushed for 178 yards on 19 carries, including a 97-yard touchdown run. Miller had his injury issues this season, but he rushed for 270 yards in the final two weeks and ended the year with over 1,000 rushing yards.
Chris Ivory, RB, NYJ12/28/2014 6:28:00 PM
Description: Jets running back Chris Ivory had 13 carries for 29 yards versus the Dolphins.
Insight: Good thing Geno Smith had perhaps his best day as a pro because Ivory and Chris Johnson did nothing on the ground. Ivory finished the season with 821 rushing yards.
Ryan Tannehill, QB, MIA12/28/2014 6:27:00 PM
Description: Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill had another decent fantasy day in Week 17.
Insight: Tannehill was 23-of-39 for 259 yards and a touchdown. The Jets, however, sacked Tannehill seven times. For anyone still doubting if the league is a passing league, Tannehill had a 4,000-yard passing season.
Geno Smith, QB, NYJ12/28/2014 6:23:00 PM
Description: Jets quarterback Geno Smith may be in the mist of his great stretch of his career.
Insight: Too bad the season is now over. Smith completed 20-of-25 passes for 358 yards and three touchdowns against the Dolphins. Perhaps that will save his job or Rex Ryan, but probably not. Smith still 13 touchdowns versus 13 interceptions in 14 starts this season.
Aaron Rodgers, QB, GBP12/28/2014 6:22:00 PM
Description: Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers re-injuring the calf in the second quarter and had to be helped to the locker room, according to beat reporter Rob Demovsky.
Insight: He was running out of the pocket and pulled up without being hit. Rodgers was 6-of-9 for 97 yards and a touchdown to Randall Cobb. Update: Rodgers has returned, but his movement will be limited.
Antonio Gates, TE, SDC12/28/2014 6:16:00 PM
Description: Chargers tight end Antonio Gates did not have a target until late in the third quarter against the Chiefs.
Insight: Gates still had a decent day with four catches for 67 yards, but it was strange not to see Gates a bigger part of the game plan with the playoffs on the line. Perhaps the fact Philip Rivers only had eight pass attempts into the third quarter had something to do with that. Gates finished the season with 69 catches, 821 yards and 12 touchdowns.
De'Anthony Thomas, RB, KAN12/28/2014 6:14:00 PM
Description: Chiefs running back De'Anthony Thomas was extremely productive in all phases of the game.
Insight: Thomas had a 18-yard rush, 28 receiving yards on three catches and 69 return yards versus the Chargers. Unfortunately, he wasn't a great start unless owners are in a league that count return yards.
Dwayne Bowe, WR, KANCold12/28/2014 6:10:00 PM
Description: Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe nearly had the first touchdown for a Kansas City wide out this season.
Insight: Bowe was about six inches away from scoring a touchdown when he fumbled. Luckily, Travis Kelce recovered the fumble but that didn't help Bowe owners. Bowe finished with three catches for 30 yards. He was disappointing this season with 60 catches 754 yards and no touchdowns.
Dontrelle Inman, WR, SDC12/28/2014 6:10:00 PM
Description: Chargers wide receiver Dontrelle Inman led the team with five receptions on Sunday.
Insight: Inman gained 79 yards on his five catches as he became a decent fantasy play the last two weeks. He only played the final two games, but finished 2014 with 12 catches and 158 yards.
Eddie Royal, WR, SDC12/28/2014 6:08:00 PM
Description: Chargers receiver Eddie Royal benefited from the absence of Keenan Allen on Sunday.
Insight: Royal finished with four catches for 95 yards, but his touchdown in the fourth quarter was overturned and then on the next play, he let a pass hit him in the helmet and fall incomplete. Royal still had a decent season with 62 catches, 778 yards and seven touchdowns.
Travis Kelce, TE, KAN12/28/2014 6:06:00 PM
Description: Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce led the team in receiving against the Chargers.
Insight: Kelce had seven catches for 84 yards and recovered a fumble for a touchdown. Besides the fact he turns into Edward Scissorhands after receptions, Kelce is a great fantasy option at a very inconsistent position. Look to target him as a sleeper in 2015. Kelce finished the season leading the Chiefs in receiving yards, catches, and receiving touchdowns.
Branden Oliver, RB, SDC12/28/2014 6:04:00 PM
Description: Chargers rookie running back Branden Oliver had a nice day to end the 2014 season.
Insight: Oliver had 14 carries for 71 yards as the Chargers featured him a lot early against the Chiefs. Oliver also had a touchdown. He should be a decent middle-round selection next season.
Jamaal Charles, RB, KAN12/28/2014 6:03:00 PM
Description: Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles disappointed again in Week 17.
Insight: Charles is a top-five back, so for him to only have 13 carries for 54 yards, especially with a backup quarterback, is a big disappointment. Perhaps Charles didn't end the season 100 percent because it seemed like Andy Reid shied away from using his best offensive player, but that is just speculation on our part. Charles still eclipsed the 1,000 rushing yard mark with nine touchdowns this season.
Philip Rivers, QB, SDC12/28/2014 6:00:00 PM
Description: Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers had a horrible Week 17 against the Chiefs.
Insight: Rivers was 20-for-34 for 291 yards, but he threw two interceptions and no touchdowns. Quite disappointing for a team who had a great December record coming into the game.
Chase Daniel, QB, KAN12/28/2014 5:58:00 PM
Description: Chiefs quarterback Chase Daniel played well in his second career NFL start.
Insight: Daniel started hot but completed just three of his final 10 passes. Daniel finished 16-of-27 for 157 yards. He didn't turn it over, however, he did take four sacks. With as bad as some starting and backup quarterbacks around the league have played this season, this was a nice performance.
DeAndre Hopkins, WR, HOU12/28/2014 5:54:00 PM
Description: Texans receiver DeAndre Hopkins must not get along with quarterback Case Keenum.
Insight: We kid, but it doesn seem a little weird that with Keenum under center, Andre Johnson has reassumed WR1 duties in Houston. Hopkins caught just two passes for five yards versus the Jaguars. After the 238 yard and two-touchdown day versus the Titans in Week 13, Hopkins had just 16 catches, 169 yards and no touchdowns over the final four games.
Cecil Shorts III, WR, JAC12/28/2014 5:52:00 PM
Description: Jaguars receiver Cecil Shorts put up decent fantasy numbers because of his passing ability.
Insight: Shorts caught five passes for 47 yards and completed his one pass attempt for 23 yards and a touchdown.
Andre Johnson, WR, HOU12/28/2014 5:50:00 PM
Description: Texans receiver Andre Johnson looked like a WR1 again in Week 17.
Insight: Johnson caught 10 passes for 134 yards and a touchdown versus the Jaguars. This can be viewed as a last horray for Johnson who mostly past the No. 1 wide out torch to DeAndre Hopkins, but Johnson can still be productive if drafted at the right time. Johnson had 85 catches for 936 yards and three touchdowns in 2014.
Toby Gerhart, RB, JAC12/28/2014 5:48:00 PM
Description: Fantasy owners should forget about Jaguars running back Toby Gerhart.
Insight: Gerhart was the opening day starter for Jacksonville this season, yet only rushed for 326 rushing yards in 2014. Gerhart only averaged 3.2 yards per carry this year. Jacksonville will likely find a better running back even if he is an ex-collegiate quarterback.
Jonathan Grimes, RB, HOU12/28/2014 5:45:00 PM
Description: Texans running back Jonathan Grimes led the team in rushing against the Jaguars.
Insight: Grimes took advantage of Arian Foster's injury, rushing 11 times for 45 yards. Unfortunately for Grimes, Blue scored the touchdown.
Jordan Todman, RB, JAC12/28/2014 5:44:00 PM
Description: Jacksonville finally realized Jordan Todman is better than Toby Gerhart.
Insight: That's not really saying much because Gerhart has been about as good as a piece of trash this season. Todman carried the ball seven times for 52 yards against the Texans. He also caught a touchdown pass.
Alfred Blue, RB, HOU12/28/2014 5:43:00 PM
Description: Texans running back Alfred Blue scored a rushing touchdown in Week 17.
Insight: Blue led the team with 17 carries after Arian Foster left with an injury, but Jonathan Grimes outrushed Blue. Blue gained just 39 yards, however, he scored the rushing touchdown.
Aaron Rodgers, QB, GBP12/28/2014 5:42:00 PM
Description: Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers re-injuring the calf in the second quarter and had to be helped to the locker room, according to beat reporter Rob Demovsky.
Insight: He was running out of the pocket and pulled up without being hit. Rodgers was 6-of-9 for 97 yards and a touchdown to Randall Cobb. Matt Flynn would replace him in the next series.
Blake Bortles, QB, JAC12/28/2014 5:41:00 PM
Description: Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles did better running the ball than he did throwing in Week 17.
Insight: Bortles led the team in rushing with 61 yards on three carries, but through the air, Bortles continued to struggle, completing 14-of-33 passes for 117 yards. He will likely get another season to develop, but he didn't look very good in his rookie season.
Case Keenum, QB, HOU12/28/2014 5:39:00 PM
Description: After not winning a game last season, Texans quarterback Case Keenum went 2-0 in 2014.
Insight: Keenum went 25-for-35 for 250 yards, two touchdowns and an interception versus the Jaguars. The interception was almost costly as it was returned for a touchdown, but Houston still won, 23-17. Keenum could possibly in play in training camp for Houston next season.
Nate Washington, WR, TEN12/28/2014 5:37:00 PM
Description: Titans receiver Nate Washington had just three targets and no catches in Week 17.
Insight: No Titans receiver was fantasy relevant in the second half of the season, and that will likely remain true at the beginning of next season.
Hakeem Nicks, WR, IND12/28/2014 5:35:00 PM
Description: Colts receiver Hakeem Nicks missed a chance at a big bonus on Sunday.
Insight: Nicks needed one more touchdown for five on the season and a big incentive bonus. He settled for three catches for 46 yards and no score.
Kendall Wright, WR, TEN12/28/2014 5:33:00 PM
Description: Titans receiver Kendall Wright caught just two passes for nine yards in Week 17.
Insight: Wright did catch a touchdown to avoid fantasy disaster, but who is really still counting on this guy?
Aaron Rodgers, QB, GBP12/28/2014 5:33:00 PM
Description: Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a leg injury in the second quarter and had to be helped to the locker room.
Insight: He was running out of the pocket and pulled up without being hit. We await further word. Rodgers was 6-of-9 for 97 yards and a touchdown to Randall Cobb. Matt Flynn will replace him in the next series.
Coby Fleener, TE, IND12/28/2014 5:31:00 PM
Description: Colts tight end Coby Fleener caught two touchdowns in Week 17.
Insight: Fleener has become a fantasy force since Dwyane Allen suffered his injury about a month ago. Fleener had five catches for 56 yards in addition to his two scores. He finished the season with eight touchdowns and should be targeted in the middle rounds next season.
Delanie Walker, TE, TEN12/28/2014 5:30:00 PM
Description: Titans tight end Delanie Walker led the team in receiving in Week 17.
Insight: Walker caught seven passes for 43 yards. He received twice as many targets than any other Titans receiver. Walker finished the season with 63 catches for 890 yards and four touchdowns.
Reggie Wayne, WR, IND12/28/2014 5:28:00 PM
Description: Colts receiver Reggie Wayne caught a 80-yard pass but the Titans tackled him at the 1-yard line.
Insight: That's unfortunate for Wayne fantasy owners. Luck did convert that drive into a touchdown pass for Coby Fleener, but Wayne owners missed out. Wayne has two catches for 91 yards.
Shonn Greene, RB, TEN12/28/2014 5:26:00 PM
Description: Titans running back Shonn Greene had his best day rushing of the year on Sunday.
Insight: Better late than never I guess. Greene rushed for 94 yards on 11 carries against the Colts. 52 of those yards came on one play.
Dan Herron, RB, IND12/28/2014 5:25:00 PM
Description: Colts running back Dan Herron led the team with 35 rushing yards in Tennessee.
Insight: The Colts are perhaps the weakest rushing team heading into the playoffs. They averaged just 2.1 yards per rush against the bad Titans defense. That is not a recipe for success in January.
Charlie Whitehurst, QB, TEN12/28/2014 5:23:00 PM
Description: Titans quarterback Charlie Whitehurst avoided all big mistakes but still couldn't complete 50 percent of his passes versus the Colts.
Insight: Whitehurst was 12-for-28 with 72 yards and a touchdown. He is obviously not going to be the long-term solution for Ken Whisenhunt as Whitehurst averaged 2.6 yards per attempt.
Andrew Luck, QB, IND12/28/2014 5:21:00 PM
Description: Colts quarterback Andrew Luck had a huge bounce back game in Week 17.
Insight: Luck was 10-for-16 with 160 yards and two touchdowns. It obviously wasn't a huge day yardage wise, but this should give back the quarterback's confidence heading into the postseason.
Jordan Reed, TE, WAS12/28/2014 5:18:00 PM
Description: Washington tight end Jordan Reed had his best day receiving since November.
Insight: Reed caught nine passes for 70 yards versus the Cowboys. Even with the nice finish, Reed was disappointing this season.
Jason Witten, TE, DAL12/28/2014 5:17:00 PM
Description: Cowboys tight end Jason Witten caught four passes for 49 yards on Sunday.
Insight: Tony Romo didn't need his security blanket too oftern versus Washington, but Witten still turned in a decent day. Witten finished 2014 with 64 catches and 703 yards.
Pierre Garcon, WR, WAS12/28/2014 5:15:00 PM
Description: Washington receiver Pierre Garcon had a decent game Saturday versus Dallas.
Insight: Garcon caught a 47-yard pass, but did very little besides that. Garcon finished Week 17 with two catches for 53 yards. Overall, Garcon was very disappointing in 2014 with just 68 catches and 752 yards.
Dez Bryant, WR, DALHot12/28/2014 5:13:00 PM
Description: Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant caught two more touchdowns to set a new franchise record with 16 receiving touchdowns in 2014.
Insight: The 16 scores bested Terrell Owen's previous Cowboys record of 15 receiving touchdowns in 2007. Bryant also had 88 catches and 1,320 yards in 2014.
DeSean Jackson, WR, WAS12/28/2014 5:10:00 PM
Description: Redskins receiver DeSean Jackson continued his hot streak to end the season.
Insight: Jackson caught another long pass for 69 yards and finished Week 17 with two catches, 86 yards and a touchdown. Jackson will remain a boom-or-bust player next season, but he should still get a lot more attention on draft day than he did this season.
Joseph Randle, RB, DAL12/28/2014 5:09:00 PM
Description: Cowboys backup running back Joseph Randle will be the top handcuff in fantasy next season.
Insight: That's, of course, assuming the Cowboys resign DeMarco Murray. Randle had just four carries versus Washington but gained 69 yards, rushing for a 65-yard touchdown. Randle finished with 51 carries and 343 rushing yards this season.
Alfred Morris, RB, WAS12/28/2014 5:07:00 PM
Description: Washington running back Alfred Morris had his worst game of the season with Robert Griffin III under center.
Insight: Morris has struggled with other quarterbacks playing beside Griffin this season, but this is only the second time Morris really didn't do well with Griffin starting. Morris gained 43 yards on 12 carries, but it was enough to reach the 1,000-yard mark for the season.
DeMarco Murray, RB, DAL12/28/2014 5:05:00 PM
Description: Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray just barely reached the 100-yard mark for the 12th time this season.
Insight: With 100 yards on 20 carries, Murray broke Emmitt Smith's franchise record of rushing yards in a single season. Murray finished with 1,845 on the season with 13 touchdowns.
Robert Griffin III, QB, WAS12/28/2014 5:03:00 PM
Description: Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III did not go out with a bang if Sunday was indeed his last start in the nation's capital.
Insight: Griffin was 27-of-41 with 336 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Griffin did run for a score, which helped his fantasy total. It will be interesting to see what Washington does this offseason.
Tony Romo, QB, DAL12/28/2014 5:02:00 PM
Description: Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo played the entire game against Washington in Week 17, throwing for 299 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
Insight: It's too bad Romo missed the 300-yard bonus, but he had a good day overall. He continues to look for Dez Bryant, which is always a good idea. Romo didn't have as many yards in years past, 3,705, but he finished 2014 with 34 touchdowns and only nine interceptions.
Jordan Cameron, TE, CLE12/28/2014 4:59:00 PM
Description: Browns tight end Jordan Cameron had three receptions for 41 yards versus the Ravens.
Insight: Cameron caught a 30-yard pass, but didn't do much outside of that. Maybe the Browns will actually get a quarterback one of these days and make Cameron an elite fantasy tight end.
Owen Daniels, TE, BAL12/28/2014 4:58:00 PM
Description: Ravens tight end Owen Daniels caught two passes for 46 yards in Week 17.
Insight: Daniels, along with every other Raven, had a nice fourth quarter. Daniels had a 39-yard catch to set up the game-sealing touchdown.
Andrew Hawkins, WR, CLE12/28/2014 4:57:00 PM
Description: Browns wide receiver Andrew Hawkins led the team with four catches.
Insight: There wasn't much in Cleveland's passing game on Sunday, so it didn't take much to lead the group in catches. Hawkins had just 33 yards. He finished with 63 catches for 824 yards this season.
Torrey Smith, WR, BAL12/28/2014 4:55:00 PM
Description: Ravens wideout Torrey Smith had a nice afternoon in Week 17.
Insight: Smith caught just four passes but for 83 yards and a touchdown. His 53-yard catch seemed to awake a sleeping Ravens team, and it set up his own score. Smith finished with 11 touchdowns in 2014.
Taylor Gabriel, WR, CLE12/28/2014 4:53:00 PM
Description: Browns receiver Taylor Gabriel caught three passes for 66 yards against the Ravens.
Insight: Gabriel had a 49-yard catch early in the second quarter, but that was about it. The Browns didn't have much to offer in the receiving game especially with undrafted rookie quarterback Connor Shaw under center.
Steve Smith Sr, WR, BAL12/28/2014 4:51:00 PM
Description: Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. led Baltimore with eight catches and 90 yards on Sunday.
Insight: Smith caught eight of his 12 targets to eclipse the 1,000 receiving mark and finished with 79 receptions for the season. Not bad for a supposedly washed up 35-year-old.
Terrance West, RB, CLE12/28/2014 4:49:00 PM
Description: Browns running back Terrance West ran for 94 yards on 18 carries and a touchdown against the Ravens.
Insight: West scored the only touchdown for Cleveland as the Browns lost to the Ravens, 20-10. West is one fantasy bright spot for the Browns going into 2015.
Justin Forsett, RB, BAL12/28/2014 4:47:00 PM
Description: Ravens running back Justin Forsett ended up with decent numbers in Week 17.
Insight: Forsett had 17 carries and 199 yards, which totaled an average of 7.0 yard per carry. Forsett didn't run that well as it took several big runs, including a 32-yarder, in the fourth quarter to get to that total. Even still, fantasy owners don't really care. Forsett finished with 1,266 rushing yards and an average of over 5.3 yards per carry.
Connor Shaw, QB, CLE12/28/2014 4:45:00 PM
Description: Undrafted rookie quarterback Connor Shaw was ok in his first NFL start.
Insight: Shaw didn't make any huge mistakes like Johnny Manziel did although he did fumble a snap and throw an interception. Shaw was 14-of-28 for 177 yards. The Browns finished the season with three offensive touchdowns in their last four games and losers in their final five games.
Joe Flacco, QB, BAL12/28/2014 4:43:00 PM
Description: Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco had a strong fourth quarter to save the team from disaster in Week 17.
Insight: The Ravens played uninspired football for three quarters, but he threw two touchdown passes in the final stanza. Flacco finished 22-of-26 with 312 yards and two touchdowns.
Julio Jones, WR, ATL12/28/2014 3:45:00 PM
Description: Falcons receiver Julio Jones is active for Week 17, as expected.
Insight: He had seven receptions for 107 yards on eight targets last weekend without practice. He's a must start.
Jonathan Stewart, RB, CARHot12/28/2014 3:43:00 PM
Description: Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart should continue to see a majority of the workload after the expected return of DeAngelo Williams (hand) didn't happen.
Insight: Stewart has averaged 109 ypg over the past four games, including 122 last weekend.
DeAngelo Williams, RB, CAR12/28/2014 3:40:00 PM
Description: Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams (broken bone in right hand) was practicing and listed as probable all week, but is inactive for the Week 17 game against Atlanta.
Insight: Jonathan Stewart has run very well over the past month, averaging 109 ypg, and now has the workload to himself.
Arian Foster, RB, HOU12/28/2014 2:06:00 PM
Description: Texans running back Arian Foster left Sunday's game towards the end of the first quarter with a hamstring injury.
Insight: Foster missed the final series of the quarter as he went to the locker room. Alfred Blue and Jonathan Grimes will share the backfield duties while Foster is out. Blue already scored a rushing touchdown in the second quarter.
Vincent Jackson, WR, TAM12/28/2014 1:48:00 PM
Description: Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson suffered a groin injury and is doubtful to return.
Insight: He did catch one pass for 11 yards, so cracked the 1,000-yard mark for the season, his third straight time in Tampa Bay and sixth time in his career.
Chris Ivory, RB, NYJ12/28/2014 12:10:00 PM
Description: Jets running back Chris Ivory is active for Week 17 along with Chris Johnson.
Insight: The Jets will have both backs at their disposal as will fantasy owners although neither is recommended versus a tough Dolphins defense.
Philip Rivers, QB, SDC12/28/2014 12:09:00 PM
Description: Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers is active for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
Insight: Not a surprise here as Rivers with the playoffs on the line. Rivers was listed as probable with chest and back injuries, but that was likely just a formality. Rivers is a low-end QB1 against a tough Chiefs defense on the road.
Julian Edelman, WR, NEP12/28/2014 12:07:00 PM
Description: Patriots wideout Julian Edelman is inactive for Sunday's game against Buffalo.
Insight: It's a meaningless game for the Pats and they are using discretion. Rob Gronkowski is also sitting making Brandon LeFell and backup TE Tim Wright viable options for Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo.
Percy Harvin, WR, NYJ12/28/2014 12:07:00 PM
Description: Jets wide receiver Percy Harvin (ribs) is inactive for Week 17.
Insight: It's not a big loss, but if you were depending on Harvin in Week 17, try to find a replacement not in Gang Green.
Ryan Mathews, RB, SDC12/28/2014 12:05:00 PM
Description: Chargers running back Ryan Mathews will not play on Sunday.
Insight: Mathews is inactive with an ankle injury, which means Branden Oliver will see more carries long with Donald Brown.
Dwayne Allen, TE, IND12/28/2014 12:05:00 PM
Description: Colts tight end Dwayne Alle has been downgraded to out for Week 17 due to a sore knee.
Insight: He's caught eight touchdowns this season in just 29 receptions. Coby Fleener should get all the work and is a viable fantasy replacement.
DeMarco Murray, RB, DAL12/28/2014 12:04:00 PM
Description: Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray (hand) is active for Week 17 and is expected to work a normal game.
Insight: Murray rushed 22 times for 58 yards and a touchdown last weekend and could play an entire game if things fall right on the scoreboard. he could also sit it they have no chance to get a first-round bye.
Jamaal Charles, RB, KAN12/28/2014 12:04:00 PM
Description: Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles will play in Week 17.
Insight: Charles is active despite his hamstring issue. We expect the Chiefs to depend heavily on Charles as Sunday is a must-win and Chase Daniels is Kansas City's starting quarterback.
Keenan Allen, WR, SDC12/28/2014 12:03:00 PM
Description: Chargers receiver Keenan Allen is inactive for Sunday's game versus the Chiefs.
Insight: Allen will miss the game due to his collarbone injury. Eddie Royal will likely see more opportunities with Allen sidelined.
DeAndre Hopkins, WR, HOU12/28/2014 12:02:00 PM
Description: Texans receiver DeAndre Hopkins is active for Sunday's game versus the Jaguars.
Insight: Hopkins caught five passes for 38 yards in Case Keenum's first start last week, so look for the duo to build upon that this week.
Andre Williams, RB, NYG12/28/2014 12:02:00 PM
Description: Giants running back Andre Williams is dealing with a shoulder issue, but is active for Week 17.
Insight: Williams will share the workload with Rashad Jenning, who is also active despite an ankle injury.
Toby Gerhart, RB, JAC12/28/2014 12:00:00 PM
Description: Jaguars running back Toby Gerhart is active for Sunday.
Insight: Gerhart should lead Jacksonville with rushing attempts, but he still isn't a great fantasy option.
Rashad Jennings, RB, NYG12/28/2014 12:00:00 PM
Description: Giants running back Rashad Jennings re-injured his ankle last weekend. but is back on the field for the final weekend.
Insight: Andre Williams (shoulder) is also active and they figure to share the workload evenly.
Arian Foster, RB, HOU12/28/2014 11:59:00 AM
Description: Texans running back Arian Foster is active for Week 17.
Insight: There was a non-injury related issue that could have led Foster to missing Sunday's game versus th Jaguars, but that is not the case. Start him as you normally would.
Tim Wright, TE, NEP12/28/2014 11:58:00 AM
Description: Patriots backup tight end Tim Wright will be a starter in Week 17.
Insight: The Pats have decided to sit Rob Gronkowski. Wright becomes a viable fantasy replacement.
Cecil Shorts III, WR, JAC12/28/2014 11:58:00 AM
Description: Jaguars receiver Cecil Shorts is active for Sunday's game against the Texans.
Insight: Shorts should see plenty of targets as can be used as a WR3 this week.
Rob Gronkowski, TE, NEP12/28/2014 11:55:00 AM
Description: Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is inactive for Week 17.
Insight: It's a bit of a surprise, but understandable given his injury-prone history. Tim Wright becomes a viable fantasy option.
Tom Brady, QB, NEP12/27/2014 10:58:00 AM
Description: Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is expected to play about half the game Sunday, according to Boston Globe's Ben Volin.
Insight: Obviously it's just an educated guess as Bill Belichick keeps his plans closer to the vest than the CIA. If true, he's not fantasy worthy against a tough Bills defense.
Jamaal Charles, RB, KAN12/26/2014 4:42:00 PM
Description: Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles is questionable for Week 17.
Insight: Charles has been limited in practice for some time now with ankle and hamstring issues. With Kansas City needing to win to make the playoffs though, we expect Charles to still play and be a major factor without Alex Smith.
Jacquizz Rodgers, RB, ATL12/26/2014 3:57:00 PM
Description: Falcons running back Jacquizz Rodgers is expected to start at running back with Stephen Jackson injured.
Insight: Rodgers is a better pass blocker than Devonta Freeman, so Rodgers will start and play a majority of the snaps. Freeman will rotate in and see a decent amount of opportunities. Rodgers had 11 carries and 29 yards last week, but Freeman was more explosive as he ran for a 36 yards on five rushes, including a 31-yard touchdown.
Connor Shaw, QB, CLE12/26/2014 1:50:00 PM
Description: Undrafted quarterback Connor Shaw will make his first NFL start this Sunday against the Ravens.
Insight: With Johnny Manziel and Brian Hoyer both injured, the Browns will hand the starting quarterback role to Shaw. Although it is a long shot for Shaw to become a full-time starter, with Cleveland still searching for a quarterback, this start can be viewed as an audition. For daily leagues, Shaw will be a great bargain and maybe he can put up a good day with the help of Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron against a beat up Ravens secondary.
Alex Smith, QB, KAN12/26/2014 1:36:00 PM
Description: Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith has been ruled out for Week 17 against the Chargers due to a lacerated spleen.
Insight: Smith suffered the injury in Week 16's game against the Steelers, but he was able to finish the game. There is only an outside shot the Chiefs make the playoffs, however, even if they do, Smith will be out six weeks with this injury and probably won't be able to return until the Super Bowl. Chase Daniel, who has a similar skillset to Smith, will start versus the Chargers in a must-win game.
A.J. Green, WR, CIN12/25/2014 5:41:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green practiced Thursday after missing Wednesday's session.
Insight: Green suffered no structural damage from the hit on his right arm, but is expected to be ready for the Week 17 showdown with Pittsburgh for the AFC North title.
Julian Edelman, WR, NEP12/25/2014 10:08:00 AM
Description: Patriots wideout Julian Edelman (concussion) did not play Sunday when he didn't pass all his tests, but was on the practice field Wednesday.
Insight: Edelman could play Sunday, but with nothing to play for the Pats are more likely to hold him out for the playoffs.
LeGarrette Blount, RB, NEP12/25/2014 10:08:00 AM
Description: Running back LeGarrette Blount (shoulder) did not play on Sunday, but was on the practice field Werdnesday.
Insight: Blount could play Sunday, but with nothing to play for the Pats are more likely to hold him out for the playoffs. Jonas Gray and Shane Vereen are the other options. Good luck trying to figure out what Coach Bill Belichick is going to do.
Ryan Mathews, RB, SDC12/25/2014 10:05:00 AM
Description: Chargers running back Ryan Mathews (ankle) is doubtful for Sunday's must-win game against Kansas City.
Insight: He didn't practice Wednesday and if he can't get on the practice field don't expect him in the game. Branden Oliver and Donald Brown will see the majority of work.
A.J. Green, WR, CIN12/25/2014 10:05:00 AM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green did not practice Wednesday.
Insight: Green suffered no structural damage from the hit on his right arm and is expected to be ready for the Week 17 showdown with Pittsburgh for the AFC North title.
Keenan Allen, WR, SDC12/25/2014 10:02:00 AM
Description: Chargers receiver Keenan Allen has suffered a broken collarbone and is expected to miss the remainder of the season, though the team has yet to place him on injured reserve.
Insight: He leads the Chargers in receptions (77) and yards (783). Malcom Floyd and Eddie Royal will start at wideout.
Dwayne Allen, TE, IND12/25/2014 9:50:00 AM
Description: Colts tight end Dwayne Alle doubtful for Week 17 due to a sore knee.
Insight: He's caught eight touchdowns this season in just 29 receptions. Coby Fleener should get all the work and is a viable fantasy replacement.
Emmanuel Sanders, WR, DENHot12/25/2014 9:48:00 AM
Description: Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders was only a partial participant in Wednesday's practice due to a hip issue.
Insight: Sanders shook off the flu to catch six of seven passes for 70 yards and two scores last weekend. He's posting the best numbers of his career (95-1,331-9) and is perfect in the "Eric Decker" role.
Joique Bell, RB, DET12/25/2014 9:45:00 AM
Description: Lions running back Joique Bell is dealing with an Achilles issue, but should be ready to go Sunday.
Insight: Bell's slow first half last weekend was due to a first-quarter benching for violation of a team rule, but he played well in the second half and is the only Lions back with start value.
Pierre Thomas, RB, NOS12/25/2014 9:42:00 AM
Description: Saints running back Pierre Thomas didn't practice Wednesday.
Insight: Thomas is dealing with an apparent rib injury and should be considered questionable in a meaningless season ender against Tampa Bay.
Julio Jones, WR, ATL12/25/2014 9:42:00 AM
Description: Falcons receiver Julio Jones didn't practice Wednesday, but is still expected to play in the big game Sunday.
Insight: He had seven receptions for 107 yards on eight targets last weekend without practice. He's likely to be conservative about practice this week too, so don't let this stop you from starting him against Carolina in Week 17.
Ronnie Hillman, RB, DEN12/25/2014 9:40:00 AM
Description: Broncos running back Ronnie Hillman (foot) got in a full practice Wednesday, his first full session in about a month and a half.
Insight: C.J. Anderson has cemented himself in the lead back role, but Hillman could see a few touches if active. But they are playing Oakland and may just hold him out until the playoffs.
Johnny Manziel, QB, CLE12/25/2014 9:35:00 AM
Description: Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel will have a "chance to compete" for next season's starting gig, according to coach Mike Pettine.
Insight: That's not a great endorsement and it makes Manziel a gamble to keep in dynasty leagues. He'll have to grow up and work harder at his profession if he wants to make it as an NFL quarterback. He can't slide through on just his talent alone like he did in college. Hopefully, he's learned that lesson in this rookie season.
Jonathan Stewart, RB, CARHot12/25/2014 9:33:00 AM
Description: Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart should continue to see a majority of the workload even with the expected return of DeAngelo Williams (hand).
Insight: Stewart has averaged 109 ypg over the past four games, including 122 last weekend.
DeAngelo Williams, RB, CAR12/25/2014 9:30:00 AM
Description: Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams (broken bone in right hand) has been practicing in full this week and should be active for Sunday's game against Atlanta.
Insight: That doesn't mean he'll be fantasy worthy. Jonathan Stewart has run very well over the past month, averaging 109 ypg, and will likely continue to see a majority of the workload.
Devonta Freeman, RB, ATL12/25/2014 9:28:00 AM
Description: Falcons running back Devonta Freeman had a team-high 36 rushing yards on Sunday and should see a big jump in rushing attempts against Carolina with starter Steven Jackson sidelined.
Insight: He did so on only five carries, but ripped off a 31-yard touchdown run. Figure his for 12-15 carries in Week 17 and low-end fantasy value.
Jacquizz Rodgers, RB, ATL12/25/2014 9:25:00 AM
Description: Falcons running back Jacquizz Rodgers will see an uptick in snaps with starter Steven Jackson sidelined by a quad injury.
Insight: Rodgers still doesn't qualify as an every down back and Devonta Freeman could see more rushing attempts with Rodgers sticking to his third-down/receiving back role.
Steven Jackson, RB, ATL12/25/2014 9:22:00 AM
Description: Falcons running back Steven Jackson's quad injury will keep him out of the showdown for the NFC South title.
Insight: Jackson will be replaced by a combination of Devonta Freeman and Jacquizz Rodgers. After he was injured Rodgers saw more snaps than Freeman, but Freeman is the better early down runner.
Drew Stanton, QB, ARI12/24/2014 10:05:00 AM
Description: Arizona coach Bruce Arians says quarterback Drew Stanton 85 percent to return for the playoffs.
Insight: The coach knows he can't win a playoff game with Ryan Lindley or rookie Logan Thomas.
Ben Tate, RB, MINCold12/24/2014 10:02:00 AM
Description: The Minnesota Vikings have waived running back Ben Tate.
Insight: It wasn't that long ago that fantasy owners we excited about Ben Tate leading the Cleveland running attack (preseason ADP 58.6 at fantasyfootballcalculator). That was an epic fail as was his time in Minnesota.
A.J. Green, WR, CIN12/23/2014 4:28:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green has no structural damage from the hit on his right arm and is expected to be ready for the Week 17 showdown with Pittsburgh for the AFC North title.
Insight: Green was targeted four times on the evening and didn't catch a pass Monday night and hasn't done much since his 11-catch, 224-yard performance against the same Steelers in Week 15.
Jermaine Kearse, WR, SEA12/23/2014 4:15:00 PM
Description: Seattle wide receiver Jermaine Kearse injured a hamstring Sunday night and has been downgraded to out for Week 17.
Insight: Kearse has very little fantasy value as the second or third receiver on a running team. He has 38 receptions for 537 yards and one touchdown in 15 games.
Percy Harvin, WR, NYJ12/23/2014 3:24:00 PM
Description: Jets wide receiver Percy Harvin (ribs) is expected to miss Week 17, according to Rich Cimini.
Insight: No big loss. It's been a few seasons since Harvin made any waves in the fantasy realm.
Philip Rivers, QB, SDC12/23/2014 11:05:00 AM
Description: Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers is dealing with a bulging disk in his back, but with a playoff spot on the line we expect him to be out there against kansas City.
Insight: Rivers threw for 356 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions as he led an impressive comeback in Week 16 against the 49ers. There is a chance he gets Keenan Allen back too.
Aaron Rodgers, QB, GBP12/23/2014 10:59:00 AM
Description: Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is still dealing with a calf injury that limits him movement, but he's going to play Sunday in the showdown with Detroit.
Insight: He was 31-of-40 for 318 yards and a 108.1 passer rating versus Tampa Bay last Sunday. It's a much tougher defense he faces Sunday, but with a lot riding on the game, Rodgers will be in the lineup.
Mohamed Sanu, WR, CINCold12/23/2014 9:39:00 AM
Description: Bengals receiver Mohamed Sanu had just one catch for 16 yards against Denver.
Insight: With A.J. Green hurting, you would have thought the team would turn to Sanu, but instead they targeted Jermaine Gresham and Giovani Bernard. Sanu has been silent for much of the second half of 2014.
Jermaine Gresham, TE, CIN12/23/2014 9:38:00 AM
Description: Bengals tight end Jermaine Gresham was busy Monday night catching nine of 11 targets for 62 yards and a touchdown.
Insight: With A.J. Green hurting and the big pass rush from the Denver defense, Gresham became the team's primary target and came up big.
A.J. Green, WR, CINCold12/23/2014 9:36:00 AM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green hurt his shoulder on a pick-six in the first quarter of Monday night's game against the Broncos and was never the same.
Insight: Green was targeted four times on the evening and didn't catch a pass. It was a title-killing result for fantasy owners.
Andy Dalton, QB, CIN12/23/2014 9:33:00 AM
Description: Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton kept it simply against Denver, handing the ball off and throwing short passes.
Insight: Dalton was working with an injured A.J. Green which mean't no deep threat. He was 18-of-26 for 146 yards, two touchdowns and an early "pick-six."
Giovani Bernard, RB, CIN12/23/2014 9:30:00 AM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard took a backseat again as Jeremy Hill drove the Cincinnati bus against Denver.
Insight: Bernard totaled 81 yards rushing and receiving, including a touchdown, but he's certainly not the star in this backfield.
Jeremy Hill, RB, CINHot12/23/2014 9:28:00 AM
Description: Bengals running back Jeremy Hill put the Bengals on his back and carries them to a key victory Monday night.
Insight: Hill led Cincinnati with 22 carries and 147 yards and a touchdown, including an 85-yard run to get them going. If not for Odell Beckham Jr., Hill would be the 2014 NFL Rookie of the Year. Hill has 395 yards rushing and three scores over the past two weekends.
Julius Thomas, TE, DENCold12/23/2014 9:26:00 AM
Description: Once again Broncos tight end Julius Thomas was in uniform, but didn't show up.
Insight: Thomas caught just two of six targets for 33 yards. H'e been a playoff bust. Actually, he's done nothing for fantasy owners since Week 10.
Emmanuel Sanders, WR, DENHot12/23/2014 9:22:00 AM
Description: Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders shook off the flu to catch six of seven passes for 70 yards and two scores.
Insight: Sanders has been one of the best surprises of 2014, taking over the Eric Decker role in the Broncos offense and posting better numbers (95-1,331-9) than his predecessor.
Demaryius Thomas, WR, DENHot12/23/2014 9:20:00 AM
Description: Broncos wideout Demaryius Thomas caught just seven of 14 targets, but racked up 115 yards.
Insight: Thomas posted his ninth 100-yard day in the last 12 games, but came up just short of the end zone. Still, he's put together a great season (103-1,504-11).
C.J. Anderson, RB, DEN12/23/2014 9:18:00 AM
Description: Broncos running back C.J. Anderson worked very hard for his points versus the Bengals, mostly catching the football.
Insight: Anderson rushed 18 times for 83 yards and a touchdown and caught eight of 10 targets for 55 yards. The Bengals defense forced Peyton Manning to check down to his running back more than usual.
Peyton Manning, QB, DEN12/23/2014 9:16:00 AM
Description: Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was completely off his game Monday night against Cincinnati.
Insight: Manning still threw for 311 yards and a pair of touchdown strikes to Emmanuel Sanders, but he was also picked off four times. The rain didn't help, but it was a sieve-like offensive line that hurt the most.
T.J. Ward, SS, DEN12/22/2014 11:21:00 PM
Description: Broncos saftey T.J. Ward left Monday night's game against the Bengals with a neck injury.
Insight: Ward suffered the injury in the middle of the fourth quarter. He is questionable to return.
A.J. Green, WR, CIN12/22/2014 10:07:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green hurt his shoulder on a pick-six in the first quarter of Monday night's game against the Broncos. UPDATE: Green returned after missing eight plays.
Insight: The Andy Dalton throw was high, which exposed Green to a big hit. Green has not returned yet, but he is listed as questionable, and it appears he will come back into the game. Owners really need him back into the game for the last game of championship week.
Emmanuel Sanders, WR, DENCold12/22/2014 7:19:00 PM
Description: Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders is active for Monday night's game.
Insight: Sanders missed practice Saturday with the flu, but as expected, he will play. Despite a tough matchup, Sanders should be in every fantasy lineup.
C.J. Anderson, RB, DEN12/22/2014 7:17:00 PM
Description: Broncos running back C.J. Anderson is active for Monday night's game versus the Bengals.
Insight: That isn't a surprise. He should be in every fantasy lineup as an RB1 or RB2 and could have a nice game against the generous Bengals run defense.
Andrew Luck, QB, IND12/22/2014 5:40:00 PM
Description: Colts coach Chuck Pagano announced Indianapolis will play their starters in Week 17 versus the Titans according to the Indianapolis Star.
Insight: Indianapolis will either be a No. 3 or 4 seed for the AFC playoffs, so there is very little to play for in Week 17, but the Colts are likely trying to build some momentum heading into the postseason. The Colts stars will be in play for fantasy purposes.
Johnny Manziel, QB, CLE12/22/2014 4:27:00 PM
Description: Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel is out for Week 17.
Insight: It's obviously a little unfair to call Manziel a bust after two games, but he had an awful game versus the Bengals and then left with an injury versus the Panthers to end one of the worst seasons for an overhyped first-round pick. Again, it was one game, but he needs to dramatically improve his pocket presence and throwing technique which could be hard with an average arm at best. His big play ability is also somewhat limited because the speed of the NFL game is so much faster than college football. We do not expect Manziel to be the opening day starter for Cleveland next season.
Dwayne Allen, TE, IND12/22/2014 4:23:00 PM
Description: Colts tight end Dwayne Allen is questionable for Week 17 due to a sore knee.
Insight: Allen had an MRI on the knee Monday and is being called day-to-day. He's caught eight touchdowns this season in just 29 receptions, but was shut out Sunday in Dallas.
Ryan Lindley, QB, ARICold12/22/2014 4:22:00 PM
Description: Cardinals quarterback Ryan Lindley could be benched in favor of rookie Logan Thomas fopr Week 17, according to local reports.
Insight: Lindley was obviously not a recommended option against Seattle's top-notch defense Sunday night and finished the night 18-of-44 for 216 yards and one interception.
Logan Thomas, QB, ARICold12/22/2014 4:18:00 PM
Description: Local reports have rookie backup Logan Thomas as the Cardinals starter in Week 17.
Insight: Based on what we saw Sunday night that seems to be a good move. Ryan Lindley had nothing going in the game, with an 18-of-44 for 216 yards and one interception line.
Jimmy Clausen, QB, CHI12/22/2014 4:17:00 PM
Description: Bears quarterback Jimmy Clausen suffered a concussion against the Lions on Sunday and will miss Week 17 according to the Chicago Tribune.
Insight: Clausen took a helmet-to-helmet hit from Detroit defensive lineman Ziggy Ansah, but didn't miss a snap. Clausen, however, went to the hospital after the game. Jay Cutler will be back under center for Week 17 against the Vikings.
Robbie Gould, K, CHI12/22/2014 1:40:00 PM
Description: Bears kicker Robbie Gould sdaid he will not be ready for Week 17.
Insight: Jay Feely will continue to kick for Chicago, but didn't have any field goal opportunities in Week 16 with Jimmy Clausen at quarterback. Of course, Feely didn't get any field goal tries the previous two games with Jay Cutler under center either.
Jermaine Kearse, WR, SEA12/22/2014 1:36:00 PM
Description: Seattle wide receiver Jermaine Kearse injured a hamstring Sunday night and is doubtful for Week 17 according to coach Pete Carroll.
Insight: Kearse has very little fantasy value as the second or third receiver on a running team. He has 38 receptions for 537 yards and one touchdown in 15 games.
Nick Foles, QB, PHI12/22/2014 1:35:00 PM
Description: Eagles quarterback Nick Foles' collarbone is healing normally, but he has not been cleared and will not play in Week 17, according to coach Chip Kelly.
Insight: Mark Sanchez is showing why he's a backup quarterback and not a starter, but with nothing to play for, there is no reason to hurry Foles back into the lineup.
Dwayne Bowe, WR, KANCold12/22/2014 1:32:00 PM
Description: Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe injured a shoulder in Sunday's game against Pittsburgh.
Insight: He had six receptions on eight targets for 57 yards. Given he has no touchdown catches this season, his 57 catches for 724 yards shrinks in value to fantasy owners.
Kenny Britt, WR, STL12/22/2014 10:33:00 AM
Description: Rams wide receiver Kenny Britt led the Rams in targets (11) receptions (9) and yards (103).
Insight: Owners probably expected more of this over the first 15 games. He just needs to stay healthy and have a consistent quarterback.
Shaun Hill, QB, STL12/22/2014 10:31:00 AM
Description: Rams quarterback Shaun Hill threw for 290 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.
Insight: Hill is not a fantasy-worthy quarterback over the long haul, but sometimes posts respectable numbers, like Sunday. Sam Bradford anyone?
Tre Mason, RB, STL12/22/2014 10:29:00 AM
Description: Rams running back Tre Mason rushed 13 times for 76 yards and a touchdown against the Giants.
Insight: Mason just didn't see the ball enough in this one as he did rush for a 5.8 ypc average,
Rueben Randle, WR, NYG12/22/2014 10:28:00 AM
Description: Giants receiver Rueben Randle has been overshadowed by Odell Beckham Jr, but Sunday he was pretty good too.
Insight: Randle caught six balls for 132 yards and a touchdown. The Giants passing game appeared unstoppable. We'd like to see more of this.
Odell Beckham Jr., WR, NYGHot12/22/2014 10:25:00 AM
Description: Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been the best receiver in the game over the past two months.
Insight: Beckham had eight catches for 148 yards and a pair of touchdowns on Sunday against the Rams. Over the past eight games he's amassed 1,014 yards (126.7 ypg) and eight touchdowns.
Andre Williams, RB, NYG12/22/2014 10:23:00 AM
Description: Giants running back Andre Williams rushed for 110 yards on 26 carries.
Insight: That's his second 100-yard game in the last three contests. If he can somehow start to get involved in the passing game he could be a more consistent performance, but we like what we see of his running ability.
Eli Manning, QB, NYG12/22/2014 10:20:00 AM
Description: Giants quarterback Eli Manning had a great day versus St. Louis at the perfect time for his fantasy owners.
Insight: Manning went 25-of-32 for 391 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions. That's six touchdowns and no turnovers over the past two games. Brother Peyton will be hard-pressed to match Sunday's numbers.
Terrance Williams, WR, DAL12/22/2014 10:17:00 AM
Description: Cowboys receiver Terrance Williams a nom-factor of late, caught two touchdown passes.
Insight: It was Williams' first double-digit game since Week 5. Cole Beasley had been much more active until this game.
Jason Witten, TE, DAL12/22/2014 10:15:00 AM
Description: Cowboys tight end Jason Witten caught seven of a team-high seven targets for 90 yards and a touchdown.
Insight: It's no surprise that the passing game has picked up the past few weeks when Tony Romo has gone back to his reliable tight end.
Dez Bryant, WR, DALHot12/22/2014 10:13:00 AM
Description: Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant wasn't needed often in this blowout win over the Colts, but his 19-yard touchdown catch helpd blow the game open.
Insight: Bryant can't be guarded by just defensive back. He caught all five balls for 73 yards and a score. Too bad the game wasn't closer so he could post bigger fantasy numbers.
Tony Romo, QB, DAL12/22/2014 10:12:00 AM
Description: Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo came through with a division title on the line, going 18-of-20 for 218 yards and four touchdowns.
Insight: With a questionable DeMarco Murray (hand), Romo picked the perfect time for be nearly perfect. Cowboys fans will finally get to taste the playoffs. Fantasy owners liked it too.
DeMarco Murray, RB, DAL12/22/2014 10:09:00 AM
Description: Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray (hand) was active for Week 16 and played like normal until Dallas put the game out of reach in the third quarter.
Insight: Murray rushed 22 times for 58 yards and a touchdown. No, he didn't catch any passes, but it wasn't needed in the rout of Indianapolis.
Donte Moncrief, WR, IND12/22/2014 10:08:00 AM
Description: Colts rookie wide receiver Donte Moncrief was expected to see plenty of work with T.Y. Hilton sidelined, but it never happened.
Insight: Moncrief caught just two balls for five yards. It didn't help that Andrew Luck had his worst day of the season and the Colts were done by halftime.
Hakeem Nicks, WR, IND12/22/2014 10:06:00 AM
Description: Colts receiver Hakeem Nicks saw the most targets, catching nine of 11 balls for 72 yards.
Insight: Nicks took advantage of T.Y. Hilton's absence to post respectable numbers, but the entire Colts offense was simply ugly.
Dan Herron, RB, IND12/22/2014 10:05:00 AM
Description: Like his quarterback, Colts running back Dan Herron had a bad day in Dallas.
Insight: Herron rushed for three yards on seven carries. He did catch three balls for 37 yards, but it was a disappointment after the past few weekends.
Andrew Luck, QB, IND12/22/2014 10:03:00 AM
Description: Colts quarterback Andrew Luck couldn't have picked a worst time for a clunker.
Insight: Luck leads all fantasy scoring for the 2014 season, but has his worst day of the year, throwing for just 109 yards and two interceptions. And in Championship Week!
James Jones, WR, OAK12/22/2014 10:02:00 AM
Description: Raiders receiver James Jones caught just one of five targets.
Insight: At least it was a touchdown pass, but it was a quiet day for the aging veteran.
Kenbrell Thompkins, WR, OAK12/22/2014 10:00:00 AM
Description: Oakland receiver Kenbrell Thompkins made his first significant contribution of the season with five receptions for 90 yards.
Insight: This one came out of nowhere and fantasy owners could not have expected it. Perhaps its a sign for next season.
Derek Carr, QB, OAK12/22/2014 9:58:00 AM
Description: Raiders rookie quarterback Derek Carr was a solid game manager in the game against Buffalo.
Insight: Carr did not throw an interception and threw for 214 yards and a pair of short touchdowns. He's not fantasy worthy at this time, but we see possibilities down the road.
Latavius Murray, RB, OAK12/22/2014 9:56:00 AM
Description: Raiders running back Latavius Murray continues to be a decent fantasy play afte posting 108 yards from scrimmage against a tough Buffalo defense.
Insight: Murray had just four yards on his first seven carries, but turned it around and rushed for 86 yards on 23 carries. He's finally get the work he should have gotten all season.
C.J. Spiller, RB, BUFCold12/22/2014 9:55:00 AM
Description: Bills running back C.J. Spiller (broken collarbone) was active for Week 16, but his number wasn't called very often.
Insight: Spiller rushed four times for minus four yards and caught all four targets for 14 yards. Fred Jackson was the primary running back as expected.
Scott Chandler, TE, BUF12/22/2014 9:53:00 AM
Description: Bills tight end Scott Chandler didn't do much until a fourth quarter touchdown reception.
Insight: Chanlder is a TE2, at best, but did catch four balls for 37 yards and the score to be respectable.
Sammy Watkins, WR, BUF12/22/2014 9:50:00 AM
Description: Bills wideout Sammy Watkins caught an early 42-yard touchdown pass, but failed to add much to it over the final three quarters.
Insight: Watkins continues to be boom-or-bust player as rookies frequently are. He ended up with three receptions for 75 yards.
Kyle Orton, QB, BUF12/22/2014 9:48:00 AM
Description: Bills quarterback Kyle Orton benefitted from two fourth quarter drives, one in garbage time, to post solid fantasy numbers.
Insight: Orton was 32-of-49 with 329 yards three touchdowns and two interceptions. Losing to Oakland was certainly unexpected, but Orton's passing totals were about what fantasy owners thought he could do against an Oakland defense that has yielded 405 points.
Fred Jackson, RB, BUF12/22/2014 9:46:00 AM
Description: Bills running back Fred Jackson couldn't get anything going on the ground against Oakland, but his pass-catching worked saved fantasy owners.
Insight: Jackson rushed six times for just 10 yards, but caught nine of 12 targets for 93 yards. The Bills were playing catch up and Jackson was the perfect safety value for QB Kyle Orton.
John Brown, WR, ARI12/22/2014 9:45:00 AM
Description: Cardinals third receiver John Brown led the team in receiving yards with 54 on three catches Sunday night.
Insight: Brown, along with the rest of the Cardinals receivers, were hampered by the quarterback situation. Hopefully you didn't start any of them.
Michael Floyd, WR, ARI12/22/2014 9:43:00 AM
Description: Arizona wide receiver Michael Floyd caught just two of eight targets for 41 yards.
Insight: Floyd, like Larry Fitzgerald, was handcuffed by the Cardinals quarterback situation and fantasy owners should not have started either player.
