Description: The Timberwolves have acquired Thaddeus Young as part of a three-team trade with Cleveland and Philadelphia.
Insight: Minnesota did a good job to get Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennett and Young for Kevin Love, who made it known that he was leaving in free agency anyway. Young was an underrated fantasy option last season, averaging 17.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.1 threes, 2.1 steals (third in the NBA) and 0.5 blocks per game. He'll start for the 'Wolves and should be the top offensive option as the team tries to replace Love's 26.1 points and 12.5 rebounds per game.
Description: Anthony Bennett, the 2013 No. 1 overall pick, has been traded from the Cavaliers to the Timberwolves.
Insight: The initially rumored version of the three-team trade had Minnesota shipping Bennett to Philadelphia for Thaddeus Young, but the Timberwolves were able to snag Young for just Alexey Shved and Luc Mbah a Moute. Unfortunately, that means Bennett will be behind Young at power forward rather than starting for talent-starved Philadelphia. He should get his fair share of minutes but probably won't have much fantasy value.
Description: Cleveland.com reports the Cleveland Cavaliers will officially trade No. 1 pick Andrew Wiggins and former No. 1 overall pick Anthony Bennett in a three-team trade for Kevin Love. The Timberwolves will receive 76ers power forward Thaddeus Young as part of the trade as well. The deal will be finalized at midnight on Saturday after Wiggins officially signs his rookie contract.
Insight: Love's fantasy value takes a slight hit as it is unlikely he can maintain last year's 26.1 points per game average playing alongside LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. But his potential on the offensive and defensive glass playing with the King is tremendous. Combine that with the fact Love had a career high in assists per game last year (4.4), he remains one of the best options at his position. Wiggins and Bennett look to be quality mid-round targets.
Description: Lakers coach Byron Scott said forward Julius Randle will "get plenty of chances to play a lot of minutes" according to NBA.com
Insight: Los Angeles added Carlos Boozer in free agency, so there is some doubt of whether Scott's statement will be true right away, but Randle looked great in Las Vegas. He could be a solid pick up late in the draft or in free agency as long as you're patient.
Description: According to Chris Sheridan of SheridanHoops.com, Gordon Hayward could be the next Team USA cut.
Insight: Sheridan wrote, "Of all the bubble guys, he (Hayward) did the least to distinguish himself." Hayward scored four points and had two steals on Wednesday against Dominican Republic. Andre Drummond, Damian Lillard, DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Korver, and Chandler Parsons join Hayward on the roster bubble as coach Mike Krzyzewski and his staff trim the roster from 16 to 12. Team USA heads to the World Cup of Basketball on Saturday.
Description: According to USA Today, Greg Monroe has accepted the Pistons' qualifying offer of $5.5 million.
Insight: Monroe was a restricted free agent this offseason, but rather than sign and offer sheet with another team or a long-term deal with Detroit he's opted to take a one-year deal. He'll become an unrestricted free agent next summer. Monroe, Josh Smith and Andre Drummond did not fit well together last season and the Pistons went 29-53.
