Description: Celtics shooting guard Avery Bradley left Sunday's game for a time before returning to the game against Golden State due to a sprained left thumb.
Insight: Bradley has averaged 17.0 ppg over the past three games and he's taking enough shots to continue at that pace. The problem with Bradley is that he doesn't offer much other than scoring, averaging just 2.8 rpg and 1.5 apg over the first 41 contests.
Jared Sullinger, C1/25/2015 10:32:00 PM
Description: Celtics center/forward Jared Sullinger had 26 points to lead Boston in scoring on Sunday.

Insight: Olynyk is projected to miss at least two weeks. Tyler Zeller and Brandon Bass will be in line to see more minutes without Olynyk.
Marcus Smart, G1/25/2015 10:08:00 AM
Description: Celtics rookie guard Marcus Smart will miss Sunday's game against Golden State due to a death in his family.
Insight: Like almost all rookies, Smart is too inconsisent to play on a daily basis. Evan Turner should see all the minutes he can handle and is a viable fantasy option.
Avery Bradley, SG1/24/2015 9:21:00 AM
Description: Celtics shooting guard Avery Bradley went 7-of-11 from the field for a team-high 18 points on Friday night.
Insight: He also went 4-of-5 from beyond the arc, and chipped in six rebounds, one assist, and four turnovers. Bradley is still outside the top-130.
Kelly Olynyk, C1/23/2015 11:07:00 AM
Description: Celtics backup center Kelly Olynyk sprained his right ankle Thursday and is listed as questionable for Friday's game against Denver.
Insight: Olynyk is probably a lot closer to doubtful, considering he left the arena on crutches. He's averaging 11.1 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 1.7 apg, 1.0 spg.
Brandon Bass, F1/19/2015 6:14:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Brandon Bass came off the bench to lead the team with 17 points versus the Clippers.

Description: Celtics center/forward Jared Sullinger had 20 points and eight rebounds versus the Bulls on Friday.

Insight: Bradley was 6-for-13, making three 3-pointers and scoring 17 points. He didn't do much else, though, with three rebounds, an assist and a block.

Evan Turner, G/F1/9/2015 9:56:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Evan Turner had a weird, but productive line on Friday night.
Insight: He shot 3-of-15 from the field and 3-of-6 from the line for just nine points. Turner, however, did have 15 rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and two turnovers. He will continue to start for Boston.
Avery Bradley, SG1/9/2015 9:51:00 PM
Description: Celtics shooting guard Avery Bradley scored a team-high 23 points during Friday's overtime loss to the Pacers.
Insight: He also had three assists, two boards, three 3-pointers, two steals, and three turnovers. Bradley is a good option, with Jeff Green likely off to Memphis.
Jeff Green, F1/9/2015 5:51:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green could be headed to Memphis.
Insight: According to Yahoo Sports, Boston and Memphis are close to an agreement that would send Tayshaun Prince and a first-rounder to the Celtics. Stay tuned.
Jameer Nelson, G1/9/2015 11:26:00 AM
Description: Celtics point guard Jameer Nelson has been downgraded to out for Friday's game against Indiana due to a sprained right ankle.
Insight: Marcus Smart and Evan Turner will take most of the point guard minutes, though neither has been particularly sharp. Fantasy owners keep waiting for Smart to explode.
James Young, G1/9/2015 10:44:00 AM
Description: After an impressive outing Jan. 5 against Charlotte, Celtics small forward James Young was a surprise non-factor against Brooklyn.
Insight: Young posted 13 points in 18 minutes against Charlotte, but didn't see any time Wesnesday due to coaches decision. There aren't a lot of minutes available with Jeff Green and Jae Crowder in front of him.
Jameer Nelson, G1/9/2015 10:39:00 AM
Description: Celtics point guard Jameer Nelson is questionable for Friday's game against Indiana due to a sprained right ankle.
Insight: Marcus Smart and Evan Turner will take most of the point guard minutes, though neither has been particularly sharp. Fantasy owners keep waiting for Smart to explode.
Avery Bradley, SG1/7/2015 9:54:00 PM
Description: Celtics shooting guard Avery Bradley scored a team-high 21 points during Wednesday's win over the Nets.
Insight: He went 7-of-12 from the field, 4-of-4 from the line, and 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. Bradley also had four rebounds, one assist, and two turnovers.
Jared Sullinger, C1/5/2015 10:05:00 PM
Description: Celtics center/forward Jared Sullinger led the team with 22 points on Monday.
Insight: Sullinger also had eight rebounds, four blocks, two steals and an assist. He shot 50 percent from the field in what turned out to be a very good fantasy day for Sullinger.
Evan Turner, G/F1/4/2015 10:06:00 AM
Description: Celtics guard Evan Turner was the beneficiary of Jameer Nelson's absence as his workload increased to 40 minutes. Nelson might miss Monday's game too.
Insight: Turner went 12-of-22 from the field and 4-of-5 from deep for 29 points, six assists, five rebounds, one steal and seven turnovers. Marcus Smart, the more obvious choice to see more time, played just 17 minutes.
Jameer Nelson, G1/4/2015 10:02:00 AM
Description: Celtics point guard Jameer Nelson is questionable for Monday's game against Charlotte after missing Saturday due to a sprained right ankle.
Insight: With Nelson sidelined Saturday, it wasn't rookie Marcus Smart getting more work, it was Evan Turner who played 40 minutes and scored 29 points. That's well above Turners normal per game usage.
Jared Sullinger, C1/3/2015 10:49:00 PM
Description: Celtics center/forward Jared Sullinger posted a double-double on Saturday night.
Insight: He had 16 points and 16 boards, along with two assists, one steal, one block, and two turnovers. Sullinger is a top-70 option.
Evan Turner, G/F1/3/2015 10:48:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Evan Turner had his best game as a Celtic during Saturday's overtime loss to Chicago.
Insight: He went 12-of-22 from the field and 4-of-5 from deep for 29 points, six assists, five rebounds, one steal, and seven turnovers. Turner is worth owning everywhere.
Tyler Zeller, C1/2/2015 10:21:00 PM
Description: Celtics center Tyler Zeller recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds on Friday.
Insight: Zeller shot 7-of-9 in 25 minutes of action against the Mavericks. Zeller has been playing pretty well since becoming a starter. He averaged 12.5 ppg and 6.9 rpg in December.
Marcus Smart, G12/31/2014 4:31:00 PM
Description: The Celtics benched rookie Marcus Smart on Wednesday.
Insight: Evan Turner earned the start instead. Boston is 3-0 with Turner starting, so it will be interesting to see if he stays in the lineup. Smart played 28 minutes off the bench and scored 11 points with six rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Jared Sullinger, C12/31/2014 4:26:00 PM
Description: Celtics center/forward Jared Sullinger scored 20 points to lead Boston in scoring on New Year's Eve.
Insight: Sullinger shot 50 percent and grabbed 11 rebounds for his eighth double-double of the season. Sullinger is averaging 13.3 ppg and 7.8 rpg this season.
Jeff Green, F12/27/2014 9:24:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green led the team with 23 points in the, 101-88, loss to the Wizards on Saturday.
Insight: Green was 7-for-17 and just 2-for-8 from the 3-point line, but he made 7-of-8 at the free-throw line. Green is the best offensive, and thus, fantasy option on the Celtics.
Marcus Smart, G12/26/2014 3:24:00 PM
Description: Celtics rookie Marcus Smart continues to struggle.
Insight: Smart started again Friday and only shot 2-of-6, scoring five points. He did have six assists and four steals, but he is going to have to shoot better to remain in the lineup.
Jeff Green, F12/26/2014 3:23:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green scored a team-high 22 points in Friday's game versus the Nets.
Insight: Green shot 10-of-18, making one 3-pointer. He also had five assists and three rebounds. Green is the best fantasy option on the Cetics roster.
Marcus Smart, G12/26/2014 1:25:00 PM
Description: Celtics rookie Marcus Smart will move back into the starting lineup on Friday.
Insight: This is good news for fantasy owners. Jameer Nelson was playing pretty well as the team's starting point guard, but Smart has more upside in both real life and fantasy. Hopefully Smart can turn around his somewhat disappointing rookie campaign.
Tyler Zeller, C12/23/2014 9:34:00 PM
Description: Boston center Tyler Zeller shot a perfect 10-for-10 from the line on his way to leading the Celtics in scoring on Tuesday.
Insight: Zeller had a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Zeller's numbers have dramatically increased this month. He is averaging 12.8 ppg and 7.1 rpg in December after he averaged 6.4 ppg and 3.9 rpg in November.
Marcus Smart, G12/21/2014 5:38:00 PM
Description: Celtics rookie Marcus Smart will make his first start Sunday night.
Insight: We kept saying Smart wouldn't be fantasy worthy until Rajon Rondo was playing for another team and now that it's happened it's time to see what the rookie has. We think it's a lot.
Jameer Nelson, G12/21/2014 11:32:00 AM
Description: Newly acquired point guard Jameer Nelson is expected to play Sunday.
Insight: Nelson was not very good in Dallas (7.3 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 4.1 apg) and could have to share time with Marcus Smart. That's not a very good situation.
Kelly Olynyk, C12/19/2014 9:43:00 PM
Description: Celtics center Kelly Olynyk continued his strong play off the bench.
Insight: He went 8-of-13 for a team-high 21 points during Friday's win against Minnesota. Olynyk also had eight rebounds, three assists, two 3-pointers, and one block.
Rajon Rondo, G12/18/2014 7:37:00 PM
Description: The Dallas Mavericks have traded three players and two draft picks for Celtics point guard Rajon Rando.
Insight: The Mavericks will also receive rookie forward Dwight Powell. Although this is an intriguing real life move, this likely hurts Rondo's fantasy value. Rondo will probably not handle the ball as much as he did in Boston because of the other playmakers in Dallas, which means fewer assists. Since he has terrible shooting numbers, Rondo might not get enough opportunities to continue being a top fantasy option at point guard. Now might be the time to sell on Rondo.
Brandon Bass, F12/17/2014 9:48:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Brandon Bass led the team in scoring coming off the bench on Wednesday.
Insight: Bass had 18 points, shooting 6-of-10 and making all six free throws. Unfortunately, Bass contributed very little in other categories with just two rebounds.
Rajon Rondo, G12/17/2014 9:44:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo recorded a double-double against the Magic.
Insight: Rondo has 13 points and 15 assists in the, 109-92, victory. Rondo shot 50 percent from the floor and perhaps owners are lucky he didn't get to the free-throw line to lower the fantasy team's free-throw percentage. He also had seven rebounds.
Kelly Olynyk, C12/15/2014 9:29:00 PM
Description: Celtics center Kelly Olynyk scored a team-high 30 points during Monday's win versus Philadelphia.
Insight: He did so off the bench and finished 12-of-17 from the field, 3-of-3 from the line, and 3-of-5 from deep. Olynyk also had nine rebounds, one assist, three steals, two blocks, and four turnovers. As long as Olynyk continues to come off the bench, his vlalue will be limited.
Marcus Smart, G12/15/2014 3:53:00 PM
Description: Celtics rookie Marcus Smart left Friday's game with a left Achilles strain and will miss Monday's game against Philadelphia.
Insight: Smart's absence will allow Evan Turner more playing time. The rookie is averaging 5.9 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 1.5 apg, but likely won't be fantasy worthy until Rajon Rondo is playing for another team.
Avery Bradley, SG12/15/2014 3:49:00 PM
Description: Celtics shooting guard Avery Bradley is probable for Monday's game against Philadelphia after dealing with flu-like symptoms.
Insight: Bradley is averaging 13.0 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 1.0 apg which means he's only a help in the points category. Given that it's the Sixers, if there is any question they will likely sit him.
Jeff Green, F12/12/2014 9:56:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green scored a team-high 28 points during Friday's loss against the Knicks.
Insight: He also had six rebounds, two assists, four 3-pointers, and two turnovers. Green is a top-50 option.
Marcus Smart, G12/12/2014 8:57:00 PM
Description: Celtics rookie Marcus Smart left Friday's game with a left Achilles strain.
Insight: Smart will not return, which will give Evan Turner and Marcus Thornton more playing time.
Rajon Rondo, G12/10/2014 9:39:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo posted a triple-double Tueday against the Hornets.
Insight: Rondo had 12 points, 10 assists, 10 rebounds, one steal, and four turnovers. He is one of the top options at point guard.
Jeff Green, F12/10/2014 9:37:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green went 6-of-12 from the field and 4-of-5 from the line during Tuesday's loss against Charlotte.
Insight: He had 16 points, four rebounds, four assists, and one turnover. He is better than a top-50 option.
Tyler Zeller, C12/9/2014 6:52:00 PM
Description: Boston center Tyler Zeller will move to the starting lineup indefinitely.
Insight: Zeller is averaging 10.8 ppg, 8.3 rpg and 0.8 bpg in six games as a starter. If owners need a big man, Zeller provides some great value on the waiver wire.
Marcus Smart, G12/9/2014 11:19:00 AM
Description: Celtics rookie Marcus Smart posted a career-best 23 points with four rebounds and five assists against Washington Monday night.
Insight: OK, when you have only played eight games that's not a high bar to exceed and it was a double-overtime game. Still, he played more minutes than Rajon Rondo, Marcus Thornton or Avery Bradley.
Jeff Green, F12/8/2014 10:22:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green made all 11 of his free throws and scored 28 points in the double overtime loss on Monday.
Insight: Boston lost to Washington, 133-132. Green shot 8-of-18 from the field in his 39 minutes. He came into the game averaging 19.3 ppg and 4.6 rpg this season.
Rajon Rondo, G12/7/2014 7:33:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo had a triple-double on Saturday.
Insight: Rondo had 13 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, three steals, and four turnovers. Owners should be very happy.
Jeff Green, F12/7/2014 7:32:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green scored a team-high 25 points during Sunday's win over the Wizards.
Insight: He also had three rebounds, two assists, two 3-pointers, four steals, and two turnovers. Green is having a very nice start to the season.
Rajon Rondo, G12/5/2014 9:53:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo recorded a double-double on Friday in the, 113-96, victory over the Lakers.
Insight: Rondo did not shoot particularly well but was still two rebounds away from a triple-double. He had 12 points and 16 assists with eight rebounds. Don't expect good shooting numbers, but Rondo will provide lots of dimes and boards.
Tyler Zeller, C12/5/2014 9:49:00 PM
Description: Boston center Tyler Zeller played the most minutes he has all season on Friday and responded by scoring a season-high 24 points.
Insight: Zeller is averaging just 6.6 ppg and 4.1 rpg but had 24 points and 14 rebounds against the Lakers. He had it going on, hitting on 10-of-11 shots and all four free throws. It is obviously unlikely Zeller repeats this performance, but he should start to get some more looks from fantasy owners if he remains in the starting lineup.
Jeff Green, F12/3/2014 10:16:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green scored 32 points to lead Boston to a, 109-102, overtime victory against the Pistons.
Insight: Green only shot 36 percent from the floor, but he did make 6-of-10 3-pointers and all his 10 free throws. He also chipped in five rebounds, an assist and a block.
Jared Sullinger, C12/2/2014 9:56:00 PM
Description: Celtics center/forward Jared Sullinger scored 25 points on Tuesday.
Insight: Jeff Green also scored 25 points, which led the team in the loss to Atlanta. Sullinger nearly had a double-double with nine rebounds. He also made 5-of-8 from the 3-point line.
Marcus Smart, G12/2/2014 11:18:00 AM
Description: Celtics rookie Marcus Smart will not return Tuesday, but is getting pretty close.
Insight: Smart's latest CT scan came back negative. Even when he returns he isn't going to be fantasy worthy until Rajon Rondo gets traded.
Tyler Zeller, C11/30/2014 12:36:00 PM
Description: Boston center Tyler Zeller will get the start over Kelly Olynyk Sunday.
Insight: Zeller's shift to the starting role is likely temporary and we aren't ready to jump on him as a fantasy value. Let's see what he does with the opportunity.
Rajon Rondo, G11/28/2014 3:38:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo didn't shoot particularly well, 4-of-13, but he still helped fantasy owners in other ways.
Insight: Rondo added nine assists and seven rebounds. General manager Danny Ainge recently said he wasn't going to trade Rondo, but I'm not buying it.
Jared Sullinger, C11/28/2014 3:33:00 PM
Description: Celtics center/forward Jared Sullinger scored a team-high 23 points with 10 rebounds, but the Celtics lost to Chicago 109-102. He hit four three points too.
Insight: Sullinger has quietly put up solid numbers this season averaging 16 points and eight rebounds.
Marcus Smart, G11/28/2014 10:12:00 AM
Description: Celtics rookie Marcus Smart was targeting a Friday return, but couldn't make it all the way through Wednesday's practice, according to a Boston Globe report.
Insight: Push Smart's return back into next week, but even when he returns he isn't going to be fantasy worthy. That won't happen until/if Rajon Rondo gets traded.
Vitor Faverani, C11/28/2014 10:08:00 AM
Description: Celtics center Vitor Faverani was originally on a 5-7 week timetable to return from a knee injury, but that seems to be on hold.
Insight: Faverani hasn't yet begun to practice and his return could be pushed back into 2015
Marcus Smart, G11/22/2014 4:51:00 PM
Description: Celtics rookie Marcus Smart will not play on Sunday against the Blazers due to an ankle injury.
Insight: The Celtics are off until Friday after Sunday's game so maybe he will be ready by then. It still would be quite an accomplishment after a really bad ankle sprain.
Rajon Rondo, G11/21/2014 10:35:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo continues to struggle in fantasy.
Insight: Rondo only took six shots on Friday versus the Grizzlies and as a result, he scored four points. He missed his only 3-point attempt and didn't get to the line. He also had five rebounds and four assists.
Brandon Bass, F11/19/2014 9:58:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Brandon Bass came off the bench to lead Boston with 23 points on Wednesday against the 76ers.
Insight: Bass shot 9-of-13 and made 5-out-of-7 free throws. He also had six rebounds, and one of everything else: assist, steal, block. He still isn't worth owning in standard leagues.
Rajon Rondo, G11/19/2014 9:46:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo is averaging 12.5 assists over his last four games.
Insight: Rondo had 13 assists against the 76ers on Wednesday to go with nine points, five rebounds and two steals. He still isn't shooting great at the line, however, going 2-for-4 versus the 76ers. Rondo is shooting 30 percent at the charity stripe, which is killing teams in roto leagues.
Jeff Green, F11/17/2014 9:59:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green scored 28 points in a loss on Monday against the Suns.
Insight: Green hit 10 of his 17 shots and 8-of-9 free throws. He contributed very little anywhere else but did have three steals, two rebounds, two blocks and an assist.
Rajon Rondo, G11/14/2014 10:09:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo had an impressive 16 assists Friday night.
Insight: Rondo did shoot just 3-of-10 from the field for six points, but also had eight rebounds, three steals, and three turnovers. The assist numbers will continue to be there for Rondo.
Kelly Olynyk, C11/14/2014 10:08:00 PM
Description: Celtics center Kelly Olynyk scored a team-high 21 points in Friday's loss to Cleveland.
Insight: He was 8-of-13 from the field and 3-of-4 from the line, and also had six rebounds, one assist, two steals, one block, two 3-pointers, and one turnover.
Rajon Rondo, G11/12/2014 10:01:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo nearly posted a triple-double in Wednesday's loss to the Thunder.
Insight: He had 20 points, 12 assists, nine rebounds, four 3-pointers, two steals, and only one turnover. Owners will have fun having Rondo on their rosters, after seeing a stat line like this one.
Rajon Rondo, G11/12/2014 10:44:00 AM
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo is expected to return from his hand injury on Wednesday against the Thunder according to ESPN Boston.
Insight: He missed Saturday's game due to th fact earlier that day he had a screw removed from his hand. He practiced on Tuesday and is ready to go. Rondo has been solid this season with 9.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg and 11.2 apg.
Rajon Rondo, G11/11/2014 2:27:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo practiced Tuesday and is expected to play Wednesday versus OKC, according to A. Sherrod Blakely.
Insight: Rondo is averaging 9.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 11.2 apg and is a solid fantasy option when he plays.
Kelly Olynyk, C11/9/2014 11:23:00 AM
Description: Celtics center Kelly Olynyk recorded a double-double in Saturday's win against the Bulls.
Insight: He was 6-of-9 from the field and 4-of-6 from the line for 18 points. Olynyk also had 11 rebounds, one assist, one block, and four turnovers. He is averaging 13.3 ppg and 7.3 rpg, making him a solid option at center moving forward.
Evan Turner, G/F11/8/2014 10:18:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Evan Turner played well in Saturday's win over the Bulls.
Insight: He had 19 points, six assists, five rebounds, and two turnovers in a start at point guard. Owners should not expect Turner to be consistent at all this season.
Rajon Rondo, G11/8/2014 12:50:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo had the screw in his hand removed successfully on Saturday and is expected to be ready next week according to the Boston Herald.
Insight: Rondon is targeting Wednesday night's game against the Thunder as his return. Rondo has been good early on and should be in fantasy lineups once he returns.
Jared Sullinger, C11/7/2014 10:15:00 PM
Description: Celtics center/forward Jared Sullinger scored a team-high 17 points to lead Boston past Indiana, 101-98.
Insight: Sullinger shot just 1-of-5 from the 3-point line but contributed numbers for several categories. He shot 8-of-17 overall and had six rebounds and five assists.
Jeff Green, F11/7/2014 10:09:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds while playing 30 minutes against the Pacers.
Insight: It was surprising that Green played just 30 minutes considering Marcus Smart left the game with an injury. Green has had bigger days, but he still had a nice fantasy outing on Friday. He should continue to get more opportunities because of Smart's injury.
Marcus Smart, G11/7/2014 9:43:00 PM
Description: Celtics rookie Marcus Smart left Friday's game against the Pacers on a stretcher.
Insight: Smart will need an X-ray. Hopefully it is a short-term injury because he was really starting to play well. In the meantime, Avery Bradley, Evan Turner and Jeff Green get a boost in value for fantasy.
Jeff Green, F11/5/2014 10:04:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green continued his hot start to the season with 20 points on Wednesday against the Raptors.
Insight: Unfortunately, it wasn't enough as the Celtics lost, 110-107. Green was 9-of-16 from the field and had four rebounds, three assists, and three blocks.
Jeff Green, F11/3/2014 11:07:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green scored a season-high 35 points against the Mavericks on Monday.
Insight: Green took a remarkable 28 shots and hit 14 of them. He was 5-for-12 from the 3-point line. Green also had seven rebounds. We expect Green to continue to receive a similar volume of opportunities as he did Monday.
Marcus Smart, GCold11/3/2014 11:52:00 AM
Description: Celtics rookie Marcus Smart isn't getting much playing time and likely won't until Rajon Rondo is traded.
Insight: Smart is averaging just 19.5 mpg and posting 6.0 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 1.5 apg, 2.0 spg. He's got plenty of long-term value, but in the meantime he should be stashed on your bench.
Rajon Rondo, G11/1/2014 10:05:00 AM
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo made just 22 percent of his shots on Saturday against the Rockets.
Insight: Rondo shot 2-for-9 from the field, scoring four points. He did chip in 10 rebounds, eight assists and three steals to avert a big fantasy dud.
Rajon Rondo, G10/29/2014 10:42:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo had 12 assists in his return to action.
Insight: He played 30 minutes, and also had 13 points, one steal, and one block. Rondo will be his self, as an assist-machine in 2014-15.
Rajon Rondo, G10/29/2014 6:59:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo (hand) will play in Wednesday's season opener.
Insight: Coach Brad Stevens says he will play without a minute-limit, which is great news for fantasy owners. Make sure Rondo is locked into all lineups.
Rajon Rondo, G10/24/2014 1:25:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo is awaiting clearance to ramp up his practice time.
Insight: Rondo hasn't been officially ruled out of the opener, but the best estimates have him about a week away. He can still fill a box score, it's just he's injury prone and more than likely going to be traded at some point this season. Then his fantasy value will be dependent upon where he goes.
Vitor Faverani, C10/24/2014 1:20:00 PM
Description: Celtics center Vitor Faverani is still has about 5-7 weeks on the shelf due to left knee surgery.
Insight: Faverani is a backup and averaged just 13 minutes per night so his fantasy value is minimal.
Brandon Bass, F10/18/2014 7:17:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Brandon Bass is turning into an irrelevant fantasy player.
Insight: Bass has started at power forward for Boston the last few seasons, but Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk are poised to start in the front court for the Celtics to start the 2014-2015 season. Bass will have a bench role and will not be worth owning.
Kelly Olynyk, C10/18/2014 7:08:00 PM
Description: Celtics center Kelly Olynyk will start at center to start the season.
Insight: Coach Brad Stevens has liked what he sees thus far from Olynyk, and the center position is his. He will provide numbers across the board and is someone to keep an eye on late in drafts.
Jared Sullinger, C10/18/2014 7:05:00 PM
Description: Celtics center/forward Jared Sullinger has been on fire this preseason.
Insight: In his latest preseason game, Sullinger lit up the 76ers with 21 points, 8-for-10 shooting, eight rebounds, five assists, two steals and four 3-pointers. He is a lock to start at power forward and should be a top-50 fantasy player this season.
Jeff Green, F10/18/2014 7:02:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green could provide fantasy owners some additional scoring numbers this season.
Insight: Green has been getting more minutes at power forward this preseason, so his field goal percentage should go up. He averaged 16.9 points per game last season, which was a career-high, and shot 34 percent from the field.
Marcus Smart, G10/18/2014 6:59:00 PM
Description: Celtics rookie Marcus Smart should see extended minutes without Rajon Rondo in the lineup the first few weeks of the season.
Insight: Rondo is out at least the first week and could miss up to three weeks to start the season. Smart has played well through preseason and should benefit without Rondo. Smart is the future at point guard for Boston, but it is hard to predict how he fits in the rotation once Rondo does return.
Avery Bradley, SG10/18/2014 6:29:00 PM
Description: Celtics shooting guard Avery Bradley is shooting an incredible 65.2 percent from the field in preseason.
Insight: Bradley hit six 3-pointers against the 76ers on Thursday to finish with 20 points. Last season, he shot an amazing 39.5 percent from downtown. Bradley won't provide many other stats, but he will likely score a lot.
Rajon Rondo, G10/18/2014 6:26:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo has fantasy bust written all over him.
Insight: Rondo will miss at least the first week of the season and up to three weeks. Even when he was active last season, Rondo did not post statistics to place him in the top-100 fantasy players. Plus, fantasy owners have no idea which team he might finish the season with because the Celtics could trade him. Let someone else deal with Rondo this season.
Rajon Rondo, G10/10/2014 8:42:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo did some non-contact offensive work during Friday's practice according to the Boston Herald.
Insight: Despite the good news, Rondo has a ways to go before he is approved for contact drills. With Marcus Smart playing well through preseason so far, Rondo may be expendable in a trade. Rondo is a risky pick with big upside on draft day.
Marcus Smart, G9/26/2014 8:50:00 PM
Description: Celtics rookie Marcus Smart is expected to see extended work in training camp without Rajon Rondo, who is out for six-to-eight weeks.
Insight: Smart did not look good at shooting guard over the summer, so he will have the opportunity to play his natural point guard position. Smart is now a late-round possibility with Rondo out the first 10 games or so.
Rajon Rondo, G9/26/2014 8:42:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo underwent surgery on his broken matacarpal in his left hand and is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks according to the Boston Globe.
Insight: Rondo suffered the injury slipping in the shower at his home. He will likely miss the first 3-10 games of the season. With the trade rumors swirling around Rondo, Boston will likely not play their point guard until he is definitely healthy. Do not pick Rondo in the first half of the draft.
Rajon Rondo, G8/18/2014 2:04:00 PM
Description: The latest rumor, courtesy of talk show host Tyler Spence, is for Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo is a trade with Sacramento.
Insight: If true, this would be horrible news for Darren Collison's fantasy owners because as it stands he's set to be the Kings starting point guard. Of course, after a year of rumors concerning Rondo, we will believe it when someone actually pulls the trigger on the trade.

Description: Boston PF/C Jared Sullinger will sit Wednesday versus the Wizards. SOURCE: Gary Washburn, Boston Globe
Insight: He's missed the last two games with a sprained ankle. Sullinger (13.3 ppg, 8.1 rpg) took major steps in 2013-14 and could be in for a breakout season if Kris Humphires leaves in free agency as he's expected to.
Kris Humphries, F4/16/2014 5:41:00 PM
Description: Celtics PF/C Kris Humphries won't be available Wednesday against Washington. SOURCE: Gary Washburn, Boston Globe

He has averaged 11.8 points, 9.7 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 29 games since he returned from a torn ACL, but shot a career-low 40.1 percent from the field. The career 25.2 percent 3-point shooter never attempted more than 1.3 threes per game prior to this season but has hoisted 3.1 per game in 2013-14.

Description: Boston PF/C Kris Humphries (knee) will sit out Monday against Philadelphia, according to A. Sherrod Blakely of csnne.com.
Insight: Humphries (8.4 ppg, 5.9 rpg) will sit out for the fourth time in his past five games due to knee tendinitis.
Jared Sullinger, C4/14/2014 5:06:00 PM
Description: Celtics PF/C Jared Sullinger (ankle) will miss Monday's game, according to A. Sherrod Blakely of csnne.com.
Insight: He's out with a left ankle sprain. Kris Humphries (knee) is also out, so Brandon Bass and Kelly Olynyk should get most of the frontcourt minutes against the 76ers.

Jerryd Bayless, G4/14/2014 12:08:00 PM

Description: An MRI on Jerryd Bayless' knee showed only a minor bone bruise. He could be available for Monday night's game in Philadelphia. SOURCE: Gary Washburn, Boston Globe
Insight: Bayless has had his moments this season but at only 9.3 ppg, he isn't your best fantasy option. With only two games left on the schedule, it's possible the Celtics could keep him out as a precaution.

Description: Boston C/PF Kelly Olynyk poured in 25 points Saturday in a 111-99 victory over the Cavs.
Insight: Olynyk's 12 rebounds were a career-high. Jared Sullinger and Kris Humphries were both absent on Saturday, which is probably why Olynyk was able to log 39 minutes. He's overachieved as a rookie, leading all first-year big men in points (8.2 ppg) and rebounds (5.1 rpg) despite being the No. 13 pick in the draft.
Avery Bradley, SGHot4/13/2014 9:15:00 AM

Insight: Rondo (eight points, eight assists, three rebounds) didn't come out the entire second half. With Rondo scheduled to rest Wednesday against the Knicks, head coach Brad Stevens knew he could give him a heavy workload. Phil Pressey (2.3 ppg) will start in Rondo's place tomorrow night.

Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo (knee) will sit out Wednesday's game against New York. He still isn't playing back-to-backs. SOURCE: Mark Murphy, Boston Herald
Insight: Fortunately for fantasy owners, he will be available Tuesday at Indiana. Rondo is coming off a season-high 18 assists Sunday against the Pistons.
Kris Humphries, F3/9/2014 10:18:00 PM
Description: Boston PF/C Kris Humphries had one of his best games of the season Sunday against Detroit (20 points, 11 rebounds, two steals, two blocks).
Insight: He's actually been seeing a lot of minutes lately (26.5 mpg over his last four appearances). With that said, Humphries had just nine points combined in his previous two outings and can't be relied on for consistent fantasy production. He's unlikely to be back with the Celtics next season.
Kelly Olynyk, C3/9/2014 8:50:00 PM
Description: Celtics C/PF Kelly Olynyk was productive Sunday in a win against Detroit.
Insight: Olynyk (7.6 ppg, 4.9 rpg) put up 18 points in 18 minutes, giving him a point per minute. He also added six rebounds and two assists. He's been a pleasant surprise for the Celtics and should have a chance to make the All-Rookie team.
Rajon Rondo, GHot3/9/2014 8:44:00 PM
Description: Boston guard Rajon Rondo was feeling generous Sunday in a win against the Pistons (18 assists in 33 minutes).
Insight: That's a season-high for Rondo and his most assists in a game since November 17, 2012 (20 against Toronto). The four-time All-Star has registered a double-double in four of his last six games.
Jeff Green, F3/9/2014 8:40:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green was on target Sunday against Detroit.
Insight: Green blew up for 27 points on 11-for-19 shooting. At one point, he was 5-of-9 from deep though he came up empty on his last three attempts. He's averaged 18.3 ppg in four appearances this month.
Rajon Rondo, G3/7/2014 10:01:00 PM
Description: Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo (20 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, four steals) was impressive Friday in a win over Brooklyn.
Insight: Rondo (12.2 ppg, 8.2 apg) is quietly rounding into form. The C's are going nowhere this season but if Rondo stays and Boston lands a top-five pick in the draft, this team could be in the playoff mix in 2015.
Avery Bradley, SG3/6/2014 4:52:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Avery Bradley is expected to miss the next two weeks with a bruised ankle. SOURCE: Boston Herald
Insight: Bradley's MRI came back negative. The Celtics are angling for a high draft pick and won't be rushing Bradley back into action. With Gerald Wallace out for the season, Jerryd Bayless (8.6 ppg) has emerged as the team's best option at shooting guard.
Kelly Olynyk, C3/5/2014 6:29:00 PM
Description: Boston C/PF Kelly Olynyk is back after missing the last two games with a toe injury. SOURCE: A. Sherrod Blakely, Comcast Sportsnet New England
Insight: He'll come off the bench Wednesday versus Golden State. Olynyk's 7.1 ppg average this season is seventh-best among rookies.
Gerald Wallace, F3/4/2014 8:57:00 PM
Description: Boston G/F Gerald Wallace had successful knee and ankle surgery on Tuesday. SOURCE: Celtics on Twitter
Insight: Obviously, he's lost for the season. Wallace (5.1 ppg, 3.7 rpg) gave the Celtics very little in his 58 games this season and is unlikely to be re-signed. His days of being a helpful fantasy contributor are over.
Avery Bradley, SG3/4/2014 5:07:00 PM
Description: Boston guard Avery Bradley (ankle) will have an MRI Wednesday, according to A. Sherrod Blakely of csnne.com.
Insight: Bradley sprained his ankle twice the week prior to the All-Star break and will have missed 15 of the last 18 games if he sits out Wednesday. The guard told coach Brad Stevens that he feels "much better" this time around compared to his first return from the injury.
Rajon Rondo, GHot3/2/2014 9:55:00 AM
Description: Boston guard Rajon Rondo flirted with a triple-double Saturday versus the Pacers.
Insight: Rondo collected 12 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds in a season-high 38 minutes of court time. The Celtics point guard drilled three of his six three-point attempts in the contest. He's shooting a career-high 36.4 percent from that distance this season.
Jeff Green, F3/2/2014 9:48:00 AM
Description: Boston small forward Jeff Green dropped 27 points on Indiana Saturday at TD Garden.
Insight: Green has a tendency to disappear at times but that wasn't the case against the Eastern Conference's best team. The 27-year-old is averaging a career-high 17.0 ppg this season.
Kelly Olynyk, C3/1/2014 6:40:00 PM
Description: Celtics C/PF Kelly Olynyk will not be available Saturday against Indiana. He's out with a toe injury. SOURCE: Gary Washburn, Boston Globe
Insight: It's Olynyk's 12th absence of the season. Kris Humphries (7.8 ppg, 5.6 rpg) will be filling in at power forward.
Jared Sullinger, C2/28/2014 5:42:00 PM
Description: Celtics center Jared Sullinger (concussion) will play Saturday barring any setbacks, according to A. Sherrod Blakely of csnne.com.
Insight: Sullinger (13.1 ppg, 8.3 rpg) suffered a concussion last Friday against the Lakers and missed three games. If he gets through practice Friday, he'll play Saturday.
Kelly Olynyk, C2/28/2014 5:40:00 PM
Description: Boston center Kelly Olynyk (toe) is doubtful for Saturday's game against Indiana, according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.
Insight: He sat out Wednesday with a toe injury after scoring 21 points with eight rebounds and four assists on Feb. 24. The team is expected to get Jared Sullinger back from a concussion Saturday so Olynyk won't have any fantasy value when he returns to the lineup.
Gerald Wallace, F2/28/2014 5:33:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Gerald Wallace tore his meniscus and will need surgery, according to A. Sherrod Blakely of csnne.com.
Insight: Wallace will probably miss the remainder of the season, to the benefit of Jerryd Bayless and Chris Johnson.
Avery Bradley, SG2/28/2014 5:32:00 PM
Description: Boston guard Avery Bradley (ankle) will be reevaluated next week at some point, according to the Celtics on Twitter.
Insight: Bradley sprained his ankle twice the week prior to the All-Star break and will have missed nine of the last 10 games after sitting out Saturday. Coach Brad Stevens said Bradley will be checked out in the middle of next week or later, so he may also have to sit out next Wednesday and Friday too. Jerryd Bayless has averaged 19.3 ppg his last three games and should continue to see big minutes with both Bradley and Gerald Wallace out.
Jared Sullinger, C2/27/2014 5:15:00 PM
Description: Celtics center Jared Sullinger (concussion) expects to return to practice Friday, according to Baxter Holmes of the Boston Globe.
Insight: Sullinger suffered a concussion last Friday against the Lakers and missed the last three games. He's questionable for Saturday.
Rajon Rondo, GHot2/26/2014 10:03:00 PM
Description: Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo had a season-high 22 points to go with 11 assists and three steals in 36 minutes Wednesday against the Hawks.
Insight: Rondo irked team officials when he stayed behind in Los Angeles on Saturday for his birthday celebration while the team traveled to Sacramento. The point guard wasn't going to play anyway Saturday because it was a back-to-back, but he may face a fine. There hasn't been anything wrong with his play this month, however, as he has averaged 15.3 points, 9.9 assists and 1.6 steals per game.
Jerryd Bayless, GHot2/26/2014 9:56:00 PM
Description: Boston guard Jerryd Bayless' 29 points (five threes) were key in the Celtics' 115-104 win over the Hawks Wednesday. He has averaged 19.3 ppg his last three games.
Insight: Bayless started with Avery Bradley (ankle) out and played 30+ minutes for the third straight game. Bradley will miss at least one more game, Saturday against the Pacers.
Avery Bradley, SG2/26/2014 6:24:00 PM
Description: Boston coach Brad Stevens said Avery Bradley (ankle) is doing "much better" but still out through Saturday, according to beat writer Scott Souza.
Insight: Bradley sprained his ankle twice the week prior to the All-Star break and will have missed nine of the last 10 games after sitting out Wednesday and Saturday. Jerryd Bayless will start Wednesday, with Gerald Wallace moving to the bench.
Kelly Olynyk, C2/26/2014 5:57:00 PM
Description: Boston center Kelly Olynyk (toe) will miss Wednesday's game against the Hawks, according to Celtics announcer Sean Grande.
Insight: With Jared Sullinger (concussion) also out, look for Kris Humphries and Brandon Bass to play most of the frontcourt minutes.
Jared Sullinger, C2/26/2014 4:47:00 PM
Description: Celtics center Jared Sullinger is not expected to play Wednesday against the Hawks, according to Baxter Holmes of the Boston Globe.
Insight: Sullinger suffered a concussion Friday against the Lakers. Kris Humphries started the last two games in his place and averaged 28.5 minutes, 14 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steals. He should have another good night against Atlanta's thin front line.
Rajon Rondo, G2/25/2014 6:35:00 PM
Description: According to the Boston Herald, Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo did not have permission to leave the team for his birthday celebration in Los Angeles this past weekend.
Insight: Rondo hasn't been playing back-to-backs so he was never going to play Saturday against the Kings. The fact that he stayed behind in Los Angeles and didn't at least cheer his teammates on from the bench in Sacramento has rubbed some people the wrong way. We'll see if this results in a fine or any other type of discipline for Rondo.
Kris Humphries, F2/24/2014 8:22:00 PM
Description: According to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, the Celtics have no plans to buyout Kris Humphries.
Insight: Instead, Boston will allow him to leave in free agency at the end of the year. Humphries had one of his best games this season Saturday in a loss to Sacramento (19 points, eight boards in 36 minutes). He could be worth adding if Jared Sullinger's head injury keeps him out for an extended period.
Kris Humphries, FHot2/24/2014 12:08:00 PM
Description: With Boston center Jared Sullinger (concussion) out, Kris Humphries will get another start in the post on Monday night.
Insight: Humphries came up big Saturday night with 19 points, eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Utah center Derrick Favors will likely not play leaving the Jazz vulnerable in the middle and making Humphries a viable fantasy option.
Jared Sullinger, C2/24/2014 12:05:00 PM
Description: Celtics center Jared Sullinger is not going to play Monday versus the Jazz, according to the Boston Herald.
Insight: Sullinger suffered a concussion Friday against the Lakers. Kris Humphries (7.8 ppg, 5.7 rpg) started in his place Saturday at Sacramento and should do the same in Utah.
Rajon Rondo, G2/24/2014 10:55:00 AM
Description: Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo did not play Saturday night but is probable for Monday's game against Utah.
Insight: Rondo is off his minutes restriction and has averaged 13.7 points, 9.7 assists, 6.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals in six February games, but still misses a game when the team plays on back-to-back nights.
Jared Sullinger, C2/23/2014 7:13:00 PM
Description: It doesn't sound like Celtics center Jared Sullinger is going to play Monday versus the Jazz. SOURCE: Jeff Clark, SB Nation
Insight: Sullinger suffered a concussion Friday against the Lakers. Kris Humphries (7.8 ppg, 5.7 rpg) started in his place Saturday at Sacramento and should do the same tomorrow night in Utah.
Kris Humphries, F2/23/2014 10:02:00 AM
Description: With Jared Sullinger (concussion) out Saturday night, Boston center Kris Humphries played 36 minutes and had 19 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals.
Insight: Humphries had some fantasy usefulness when he averaged 25.9 minutes, 10.8 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.7 blocks from Dec. 31 to Jan. 21, but even with Saturday's performance he has recorded just 19.5 minutes, 7.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.6 blocks per game in his last 14. Sullinger's concussion was minor so Humphries isn't likely to stay in the starting lineup for long.
Jeff Green, F2/23/2014 10:00:00 AM
Description: Celtics swingman Jeff Green only shot 7-of-25 (.280) from the field Saturday at Sacramento but he made 13-of-18 from the free-throw line and had 29 points.
Insight: Green has delivered back-to-back 20+ point efforts and averaged 20.6 ppg in nine February games despite shooting just 37.7 percent in that timeframe.
Jared Sullinger, C2/22/2014 6:26:00 PM
Description: Boston center Jared Sullinger suffered a mild concussion during the fourth quarter Friday, according to the Celtics on Twitter.
Insight: We found out earlier that Sullinger would miss Saturday's game after taking a blow to the head Friday, so the fact that he has a concussion isn't surprising. The 21-year-old big man has been tearing it up, averaging 31.7 minutes, 16.2 points, 11.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks over his last nine games. Kris Humphries, Brandon Bass and Kelly Olynyk will absorb Sullinger's minutes.
Phil Pressey, G2/22/2014 4:11:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Phil Pressey is expected to get another start tonight with Rajon Rondo getting the night off.
Insight: It will be his sixth start this season. In the first five he's averaged a pedestrian 7.8 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 5.0 apg which isn't fantasy-worthy.
Rajon Rondo, G2/22/2014 3:53:00 PM
Description: Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo will not play Saturday night against Sacramento.
Insight: Rondo is off his minutes restriction and has averaged 13.7 points, 9.7 assists, 6.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals in six February games, but he is still being kept under wraps. Perhaps in hopes of a better draft position in June.
Jared Sullinger, C2/22/2014 3:44:00 PM
Description: Boston center Jared Sullinger will not play Saturday against Sacramento, according to Celtics beat writer Baxter Holmes.
Insight: Apparently he took a blow to the head in Friday night's contest despite playing 30 minutes and posting a double-double.
Rajon Rondo, G2/18/2014 5:42:00 PM
Description: Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo said he's not ready to play in back-to-back games, according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.
Insight: Rondo is off his minutes restriction and has averaged 14.5 points, 9.3 assists, 6.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals in February, but he still hasn't played both ends of a back-to-back. It looks like Rondo will miss either Friday's or Saturday's game.
Avery Bradley, SG2/18/2014 5:14:00 PM
Description: Boston guard Avery Bradley (ankle) will miss at least the next four games, according to the Celtics on Twitter.
Insight: Bradley sprained his ankle twice the week prior to the All-Star break and has missed three of the past four games. Bradley's backup, Jerryd Bayless, played 25 minutes last Wednesday and had 11 points, nine assists and five rebounds.
Jared Sullinger, C2/17/2014 11:02:00 AM
Description: Boston center Jared Sullinger poor outing Wednesday should be written off due to illness (19 minutes, four points on 2-of-9 shooting).
Insight: Sullinger was dealing with the flu. He has averaged 16.5 ppg, 11.2 rpg in February and should be healthy when the season resumes. Make sure he's back in your lineup.
Avery Bradley, SG2/13/2014 4:04:00 PM
Description: Boston guard Avery Bradley isn't a lock to return immediately after the All-Star break, according to the Boston Globe.
Insight: Bradley has sprained his ankle twice in the past week and missed three of the past four games. Jerryd Bayless played 25 minutes Wednesday and had 11 points, nine assists and five rebounds.
Kelly Olynyk, C2/12/2014 10:07:00 PM
Description: Celtics center Kelly Olynyk has recorded the first two double-doubles of his career in the last two games.
Insight: Olynyk had 15 points and 10 boards over 31 minutes Wednesday against the Spurs after putting up 14 and 11 in 21 minutes Monday. Olynyk could see big minutes after the All-Star break if veterans Brandon Bass and Kris Humphries are traded, but while they are still on the team he probably won't put up fantasy-worthy numbers.
Brandon Bass, F2/12/2014 6:28:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Brandon Bass (eye) will play Wednesday, according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.
Insight: Bass was poked in the eye Monday and experienced blurred vision. He's been a nice low-end choice averaging 10.8 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 1.1 apg, 1.0 bpg.
Rajon Rondo, G2/12/2014 6:18:00 PM
Description: Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo will play Wednesday against the Spurs, according to A. Sherrod Blakely of csnne.com.
Insight: Rondo is off his minutes restriction and has averaged 14 points, 11 assists, 7.7 rebounds and 2.0 steals in February, but he still hasn't played both ends of a back-to-back. We'll see if the team allows him to do that after the All-Star break. Boston's next back-to-back is Feb. 21-22.
Avery Bradley, SG2/12/2014 6:13:00 PM
Description: Boston guard Avery Bradley (ankle) will miss Wednesday's game against the Spurs, according to A. Sherrod Blakely of csnne.com.
Insight: Bradley (14.3 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 1.4 apg) sprained his ankle last week and returned for one game before re-spraining it.
Avery Bradley, SG2/11/2014 1:43:00 PM
Description: Boston guard Avery Bradley didn't play Monday and is expected to miss Wednesday's game against San Antonio.
Insight: He's dealing with a badly sprained ankle. The Celtics are playing for the lottery right now so they'll give Bradley (14.3 ppg) as much time as he needs to recover. Gerald Wallace (4.8 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 2.5 apg) has been filling in at shooting guard.
Brandon Bass, F2/11/2014 1:40:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Brandon Bass was poked in the eye in Monday's game and did not return.
Insight: Bass will be a game-time decision for Wednesday's contest with San Antonio due to the resulting blurred vision. He's been a nice low-end choice averaging 10.8 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 1.1 apg, 1.0 bpg.
Jeff Green, FHot2/10/2014 10:25:00 PM
Description: Jeff Green led a late fourth quarter charge as the Celtics escaped Milwaukee with a 16-point victory on Monday night.
Insight: Boston outscored the Bucks 32-18 in the final frame after being neck and neck for the first three quarters. Green had a lot to do with that as 11 of his game-high 29 points came in the game's final 12 minutes. The 27-year-old has averaged 25 ppg over his last four appearances. Make sure Green is in your lineup Wednesday when the C's host San Antonio.
Avery Bradley, SG2/10/2014 7:42:00 PM
Description: Boston guard Avery Bradley won't be available Monday against the Bucks. SOURCE: Gary Washburn, Boston Globe
Insight: He's headed for an MRI on his ailing ankle. The Celtics are playing for the lottery right now so they'll give Bradley (14.3 ppg) as much time as he needs to recover. Gerald Wallace (4.7 ppg, 3.6 rpg) will take over the shooting guard duties while he's out.
Rajon Rondo, G2/10/2014 10:05:00 AM
Description: Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo will miss Monday's game against Milwaukee.
Insight: Whatever minutes limit Rondo was on earlier in the year is obviously gone after he played 37 minutes on Sunday. Rondo is still sitting out back-to-backs so he'll have the night off on Monday. Expect rookie Phil Pressey (2.2 ppg, 2.6 apg) to start in his place.
Jared Sullinger, CHot2/9/2014 8:42:00 PM
Description: Boston center Jared Sullinger ran his double-double streak to five in a row Sunday against Dallas.
Insight: Barely. Sullinger finished with 11 points, his lowest since an eight-point outing against the Knicks on January 24th. Regardless, Sullinger has been a fantasy goliath recently, averaging 21.2 ppg, 13.4 rpg and 1.2 bpg over his last five contests. He's finally reached must-start status in all formats.
Rajon Rondo, G2/9/2014 8:30:00 PM
Description: Brad Stevens let Rajon Rondo loose Sunday in a loss to Dallas.
Insight: Whatever minutes limit Rondo was on earlier in the year didn't seem to be in play Sunday as the star point guard went off for 15 points, five rebounds and 12 assists in 37 minutes of action. Obviously, the 37 minutes were a season-high. Rondo will have the night off Monday but he should be ready to go Wednesday versus San Antonio. He's a must-start in all formats.
Avery Bradley, SG2/9/2014 4:32:00 PM
Description: Comcast Sportsnet's A. Sherrod Blakely reports that Boston guard Avery Bradley will be available for Sunday night's tilt against the Mavericks.
Insight: Bradley aggravated his sprained ankle Wednesday in a win over Philadelphia. Luckily for fantasy owners, it only caused him to miss one game. Though not a polished offensive player yet, Bradley is still good for double-digit points most nights. He's also a capable defender with a career average of just under one steal per game (0.9 spg in 190 NBA contests).
Rajon Rondo, G2/9/2014 4:29:00 PM
Description: Rajon Rondo will start at point guard Sunday versus Dallas. Rondo was too sore to play Friday against the Kings. SOURCE: A. Sherrod Blakely, Comcast Sportsnet New England
Insight: Rondo hasn't been cleared to play back-to-backs yet, so we won't see him Monday against Milwaukee. The Celtics are also getting Avery Bradley (sprained ankle) back on Sunday.
Rajon Rondo, G2/8/2014 4:18:00 PM
Description: According to MassLive's Jay King, Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo called his knee "fine" after sitting out Friday's game, but he does not know whether he'll play Sunday.
Insight: Rondo is dealing with general soreness. Celtics coach Brad Stevens indicated the team will make a decision on Rondo's status Sunday around 3:15 p.m. rather than wait for the 6 p.m. ET start. If he plays Sunday, Rondo will most likely sit out the following day at Milwaukee.
Jared Sullinger, C2/7/2014 10:22:00 PM
Description: Celtics center Jared Sullinger matched DeMarcus Cousins Friday night in a battle of top big men.
Insight: Sullinger torched the Kings for a career-high 31 points on 14-for-24 shooting. He also corralled 16 rebounds as Boston won for the third time in a row. Cousins posted the same exact numbers (31 points, 16 boards) in the losing effort.
Rajon Rondo, G2/7/2014 6:29:00 PM
Description: According to MassLive's Jay King, the Celtics expect Rajon Rondo to play Sunday against Dallas but sit out Monday versus the Bucks.
Insight: Rondo is beginning to round into form, averaging 11.8 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 1.8 spg and 8.5 apg in his last five appearances. With that said, head coach Brad Stevens still isn't taking any chances with Rondo's knee, which means he's likely to sit out back-to-backs the rest of the season. Keeping Rondo out might also have something to do with Boston's desire to land a top pick in this year's draft.
Avery Bradley, SG2/7/2014 6:20:00 PM
Description: Celtics shooting guard Avery Bradley will miss Friday's game versus the Kings after aggravating an ankle injury Wednesday against the Sixers. SOURCE: A. Sherrod Blakely, Comcast Sportsnet New England
Insight: This marks Bradley's sixth absence of the season. Gerald Wallace is going to be filling in at shooting guard. He's averaging 6.9 ppg as a starter this season.
Rajon Rondo, G2/7/2014 6:14:00 PM
Description: Boston guard Rajon Rondo won't participate in Friday's game against Sacramento. SOURCE: A. Sherrod Blakely, Comcast Sportsnet New England
Insight: Head coach Brad Stevens says Rondo is suffering from "general soreness" and has not suffered a setback in his comeback from knee surgery. Rookie Phil Pressey (2.2 ppg, 2.6 apg) will get the start at point guard for the struggling Celtics (3-7 in their last ten).
Rajon Rondo, G2/7/2014 10:55:00 AM
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo is questionable for Friday's game against Sacramento with what is being labeled "general soreness."
Insight: Rondo ended up with eight points, 11 assists and nine rebounds while logging a season-high 32 minutes Wednesday against the Sixers. The minutes limit from last month appears to be gone, but check back to verify that he'll be in the lineup.
Avery Bradley, SG2/7/2014 10:52:00 AM
Description: Boston guard Avery Bradley reinjured his ankle against Philadelphia on Wednesday and is questionable for Friday's contest with Sacramento.
Insight: Bradley and Rajon Rondo (general soreness) are both hurting which likely means more offense will be needed out of Jeff Green.
Rajon Rondo, G2/5/2014 10:36:00 PM
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo flirted with a triple-double Wednesday against Philadelphia.
Insight: Rondo ended up with eight points, 11 assists and nine rebounds while logging a season-high 32 minutes. His minutes limit is beginning to disappear, which means fantasy owners should probably be starting Rondo on a nightly basis. Look for the four-time All-Star to have another big game Friday against the Kings.
Jeff Green, F2/5/2014 10:30:00 PM
Description: Boston small forward Jeff Green dominated the Sixers for 36 points Wednesday in Philadelphia.
Insight: Here are Green's point totals from his last seven games: 39, 16, 8, 14, 18, 8, 36. The point is, Green is INCREDIBLY inconsistent. Some nights he looks like LeBron James. Other nights he looks like he should be playing in the D-League. Fantasy owners will get another chance to roll the dice with him Friday when the C's host Sacramento.
Gerald Wallace, F2/3/2014 11:11:00 AM
Description: Celtics forward Gerald Wallace did not play in Sunday's game against the Magic - DNP-CD.
Insight: He left the team briefly to deal with a death in his family. Wallace should be back for Wednesday's game with Philadelphia.
Brandon Bass, F2/2/2014 5:42:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Brandon Bass' 36 minutes Sunday were his most since Dec. 13.
Insight: Bass scored 19 points with nine rebounds and a block against Orlando, his former team. The 28-year-old recently regained the starting power forward job from Kris Humphries but coach Brad Stevens frequently changes his lineup.
Rajon Rondo, G2/2/2014 4:18:00 PM
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo had his best game of the season Sunday versus the Magic.
Insight: Rondo showed no ill effects from his ACL injury, torching Orlando for 19 points on 9-of-11 shooting. He also contributed six rebounds, ten assists and three steals. Boston doesn't play again until Wednesday against the Sixers.
Gerald Wallace, F2/2/2014 12:27:00 PM
Description: Celtics forward Gerald Wallace is probable for Sunday's tilt against the Magic. SOURCE: A. Sherrod Blakely, Comcast Sportsnet New England
Insight: He left the team briefly to deal with a death in his family. Wallace has averaged 7.8 ppg on 10-for-22 shooting during Boston's four-game losing streak.
Avery Bradley, SG2/1/2014 7:49:00 PM
Description: Boston guard Avery Bradley will return to the lineup Sunday after sitting out five games with a sprained ankle. SOURCE: Celtics on Twitter
Insight: Bradley and Rajon Rondo (6.7 ppg, 5.7 apg) have only played together three times this season so it will be interesting Sunday to see if the chemistry is still there. Bradley is having his best season, averaging a career-high 14.5 ppg on 43.9 percent shooting. He was named to the All-Defensive team last season.
Gerald Wallace, F2/1/2014 11:55:00 AM
Description: Boston small forward Gerald Wallace is questionable for Sunday's game against Orlando due to a death in the family.
Insight: Wallace played 34 minutes and took one shot. Fantasy owners should ignore him.
Vitor Faverani, C1/31/2014 5:35:00 PM
Description: Celtics center Vitor Faverani was sent to the D-League Friday, according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.
