Description: Vancouver defenseman Kevin Bieksa (lower body) is doubtful for Monday's game against Chicago.
Insight: Bieksa has dealt with injuries for much of the season which has kept him to 35 games played. He's managed to post 11 points and a +8 rating when available.

4/16/2013 6:27:00 PM
Description: Vancouver defenseman Kevin Bieksa (lower body) will miss Tuesday's game.
Insight: Bieksa dealt with a groin injury back in March and only had one point in the month. He has a goal and four points in seven games this month. Cam Barker will take his place in the lineup.

3/13/2013 2:00:00 PM
Description: Vancouver defenseman Kevin Bieksa is doubtful for Thursday's game against Nashville with his recurring groin problems.
Insight: Bieksa missed a little over a week with a strained groin but his return was short-lived as he's missed seven of the team's last eight games. The blueliner has just six points (five goals) in 18 games after posting 44 in 78 last season.

3/3/2013 7:15:00 PM
Description: Vancouver defenseman Kevin Bieksa made his return to the lineup from a groin injury on Saturday but he has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Flames with the same injury.
Insight: Bieksa missed a little over a week with a strained groin but his return was short-lived. The blueliner has just six points (five goals) in 18 games after posting 44 in 78 last season.

3/2/2013 12:42:00 PM
Description: Vancouver defenseman Kevin Bieksa participated in Friday's practice and is questionable for Saturday's game against Los Angeles with a strained groin.
Insight: Bieksa has scored five goals this season on 31 shots and owns a solid +6 rating. He's coming off a nice 44-point season and should be a viable fantasy option when healthy.

Description: Vancouver defenseman Kevin Bieksa is doubtful for Tuesday's game against Phoenix with a strained groin.
Insight: Bieksa has scored five goals this season on 31 shots and owns a solid +6 rating. He's coming off a nice 44-point season and should be a viable fantasy option when healthy.

4/1/2012 9:30:00 PM
Description: Kevin Bieksa missed another game Saturday for "maintenance" purposes.
Insight: We're not exactly sure why Bieksa (eight goals and 34 assists this season) is getting this kind of extended rest but with so little time left in the regular season, you can't waste time waiting for Bieksa to get healthy again. In the words of Snoop Dogg, drop him like it's hot.

6/27/2011 3:06:00 PM
Description: The Vancouver Canucks have signed defenseman Kevin Bieksa to a five-year contract worth $23 million. TSN
Insight: With a great regular season and even better playoff run, Bieksa became a must-sign for the Canucks after the team attempted to trade him early last season. Expect him to continue to provide a few points along with great plus/minus and penalty minute totals for fantasy teams.

5/25/2011 1:30:00 AM
Description: Kevin Bieksa scored the game-winning goal at 10:18 of double overtime in the Canucks' 3-2 win over San Jose in Game 5 on Tuesday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: Bieksa's goal was a point shot which resulted from an improbable deflection off a stanchion when Alex Edler attempted to shoot the puck in. Bieksa, who played perhaps the best hockey of his career in this year's playoffs, scored four goals against the Sharks during the five-game series. His Canucks now await the winner of the Bruins/Lightning series for the right to compete for the Stanley Cup.

5/19/2011 12:20:00 AM
Description: Kevin Bieksa scored a goal, added an assist, and fought Patrick Marleau in the Canucks' 7-3 win over San Jose in Game 2 on Wednesday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: Bieksa had a great night, as he scored a goal on an improbable breakaway for a defenseman. Mere minutes later, Marleau drew Bieksa into a fight but probably wished he hadn't. Bieksa has now scored two goals against the Sharks in this playoff series. He is a UFA at the end of the season, so his play in the playoffs is definitely hiking up his asking price.

5/15/2011 11:14:00 PM
Description: Kevin Bieksa scored the game-tying goal in the third period of the Canucks' 3-2 win over San Jose in Game 1 on Sunday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: Bieksa has two goals and three assists in this season's playoffs, although he had not recorded a point in his previous five games. During the playoffs, Bieksa has been one of the Canucks' strongest defensemen at both ends of the ice.

5/14/2011 7:06:00 PM
Description: Canucks defenseman Kevin Bieksa called Sharks forward and former Canucks teammate Kyle Wellwood a "weasel" when asked to respond to Wellwood's comments that the Canucks couldn't win in the playoffs. TSN
Insight: Bieksa said, "I don't even remember what that weasel said," when asked about Wellwood's comments that he likes playing for the Sharks because "they're not so scared of losing." Talk about the pot calling the kettle black, as the Canucks experienced their best-ever regular season once Wellwood left the team. In addition, it's not like the Sharks have instilled confidence in recent years that they are a playoff-ready team.

3/23/2011 1:04:00 PM
Description: Kevin Bieksa is expected to return to the Canucks' lineup on Wednesday against Detroit. Sporting News
Insight: Bieksa has missed the past few weeks with a broken foot. He will help fantasy teams in the points and penalty minutes categories.

2/17/2011 12:30:00 PM
Description: Kevin Bieksa is expected to miss the next three weeks with a fractured foot. Sportsnet
Insight: Bieksa took a shot off his foot during Tuesday's game in Minnesota. The injuries on the Canucks' deep defense are now getting absurd, as Christian Ehrhoff and the oft-injured Sami Salo are the only experienced NHL defensemen on the Canucks' roster who are healthy right now. Evan Oberg is expected to be called up from the AHL to take Bieksa's spot on the roster.

1/24/2011 4:04:00 PM
Description: Kevin Bieksa is expected to be in the Canucks' lineup for Monday's game against Dallas. Vancouver Canucks
Insight: "Boom Boom" took a nasty shiner to the eye from a fight during Saturday's game against Calgary. Lee Sweatt was called up from the AHL, but he will not play.

1/23/2011 1:29:00 AM
Description: Kevin Bieksa left Saturday's game against Calgary in the first period after a first-period fight with Tom Kostopoulos. Vancouver Province
Insight: Bieksa was hit hard by a punch from Kostopoulos and was forced to leave the game. Bieksa has a swollen eye, but the Canucks say that he does not have a concussion.

1/6/2011 2:08:00 AM
Description: Kevin Bieksa scored a goal and added an assist in the Canucks' 3-1 win over Calgary on Wednesday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: Bieksa is playing his best hockey of the season, as he has seven points (3g-4a) in his last six games. With Juice's recent stretch of play, the Canucks may be having second thoughts about trading him.

7/13/2010 8:18:00 PM
Description: There is a strong possibility that the Canucks will trade Kevin Bieksa before the start of the season. Vancouver Sun
Insight: With the Canucks acquiring Keith Ballard and Dan Hamhuis during the offseason, "Juice" slides down to number six on the depth chart while earning the third-highest salary among d-men. Bieksa seems to agree that he is a strong candidate to be moved, as he told TSN's Off the Record.
